“Let’s go see a movie" William had offered the plan, it was his idea after all, but he didn’t expect for them to end up like this.
Tangled together in an empty movie theatre, in two chairs, where the armrest that separated the seats was discarded, no longer bordering them in between. William’s arm was slung over Est's shoulders while Est scrolled through his phone and giggled into the younger's chest, waiting for the movie to begin.
His laughs pulsed through William’s body, circling through his entire nervous system before crashing straight into his heart, which he was sure Est could feel radiating back to him.
Just as friends, of course. Because in reality, Est just saw William as a good friend, and it didn't matter that William’s desperate crush on him drowned him more and more everyday. Because he’d never let anything ruin what he has with Est. Even if friendship is all he can get, it’s better than not having Est at all.
But today something was different.
William’s body was on fire like never before. Every part of him that made physical contact with Est vibrated with a sense of urgency, of wanting. Their close proximity forced his mouth open, breaths getting shallower and shallower as he attempted to stop his heart from beating out of his chest. Stopping himself from wanting more from Est, to be more than friends, and kiss him senseless– all the things he couldn’t have.
“Can I borrow your jacket, its getting cold in here?” Est’s question floated in the air, never fully reaching William’s consciousness. He was too focused on the way Est’s boba-like eyes shone when he peaked up from his spot on William's chest. How his heart shaped lips pressed into a small smile that William could write poems on alone.
It took everything in him to mumble out a small “...sure…” without fully realizing what he was agreeing to.
Est’s smile grew at the answer and every thought that meant something evaporated into thin air leaving just the image of Est’s smile permanently tattooed to William’s brain.
Est’s eyes searched William’s, waiting for a movement that indicated that William was giving up his jacket, like he had agreed, but William was too far gone. Like a pirate lured in by a siren all he could do was be encaptivated by his beauty.
“William?” Est let out a breathy-laugh at the sight of his frozen friend. “Are you giving me your jacket or what?”
Suddenly the dam broke and all his thoughts came rushing back, shooting warning signs that he should be answering Est right now instead of staring like a fool, snapping him back to reality.
But the alarms came too late.
Est’s hand had already found William’s shoulder where he wore the jacket, slowly tugging it off his arm.
“What are you doing?” the question caught in William’s throat, his voice barely a whisper in the empty auditorium.
“You said I can have your jacket” Est playful whispered back, mocking William’s shock, unaware of the daze he had William under. “I have goosebumps right now, look.”
Est lightly bushed his arm against William’s as he felt the prickles graze his skin. “I’m really cold.” The physical contact from Est set his skin on aflame to temperatures that were surely unhealthy to cross. He wouldn’t survive Est much longer.
“Est…” William breathed. His mind raced, thoughts jumbled, but one thing was desperately clear. The closeness of their faces. William’s hand on Est’s, his fingers lightly tremoring from the rush of emotion. He wanted to kiss Est so fucking bad.
He could imagine it in full detail. How close their faces were, how easy it’d be to move closer and closer, until he could finally see if Est’s lips tasted like everything he had imagined. How the empty theatre would allow them a moment of privacy to do so.
And William felt it in his gut. A feeling he’d never experienced before. Like another version of him in another universe had closed the distance that bordered him and Est. And it had been perfect.
That feeling of rightness flowed through his veins. A drug he has never felt the high of until now. The feeling of a magnetic pull they only wrote about in books, one they tried to portray in movies, the magical feeling was there, strong and demanding.
And Est… Est’s eyes held his own, feeling the rising tension from William’s gaze in the air. His eyes told William that he felt something too.
The kiss was becoming an all-consuming thought. Not another thing reached William’s head, or his heart. Only flashes of Est and him in his sultry imagination.
He could almost feel the pressure of Est’s lips on his own. His hands roaming his body. Everything just felt so right.
“Please don’t hate me” William whispered, allowing gravity to pull him to where he deeply desired.
He closed his eyes and swiftly pressed his lips against Est’s.
The light brush alone was enough to set William’s butterflies loose from his stomach, fluttering up into his brain, clouding it with nothing but the feeling of faultlessness. A feather-like kiss that felt like every problem, every sadness he's ever faced- and will face- was gone by the blessing of perfection from Est's lips on his own.
“William?!” Est shoved the others face away, holding his hand to his mouth.
Guilt immediately flushed over William, his frontal cortex resuming control of his mind out of guilt and fear. How could he do this to Est? What about their friendship? The regret of not being able to restrain his all-consuming feelings started to weigh on him very quickly.
“Est I’m so, so, sorry- I- I shouldn’t have done that. Please don’t hate me-”
“Do it again.”
“...Huh?”
“You think you’re sneaky William?” Est’s voice was laced with offense “You think I’m blind to see the way you look at me like you would kill for a taste? You think I let anyone hold me like you just were?”
William stared confusingly at Est. This wasn’t his imagination speaking right?
“You’re such an idiot.”
Without giving William another second to process Est swung his knee in between William’s legs, halfway on top of the other, arms caging him on both sides.
“You feel me on top of you, right?”
William nodded slowly without blinking, scared the scenario would turn into imagination once he did. The smell of Est’s floral perfume being the only indication that this was not another fantasy, but the manifestations of it becoming a reality.
“You feel my hand on your chest?” Est’s hand brushed back and forth from William’s collar bone to the end of his shoulder. A ghost-like touch that hypnotized William even more.
William slowly nodded again, following the sound of Est’s voice.
Est leaned in, the space between their faces shortening with each ba-bum of William’s rapid heartbeat.
“You feel the distance between us?” Est’s words ghosted over William’s lips, breaths mingling.
“Yes” William inhaled, breath falling onto the others mouth.
“And what are you going to do about it?”
Fuck it.
Something snapped and William didn’t even remember when he accepted this as his reality. That Est was allowing him to cross into uncharted territory. But that didn’t matter now.
William’s lips crashed against Est’s in an embarrassingly eager manner. Lips crashing, tangling together. Neither of them paused for air because suffocating seemed like a better option than to stop. William’s hands hooked Est’s waist, setting him down fully on his lap.
William mindlessly roamed Est’s waist, feeling and mapping out every curve of his hips, committing it into memory, because who knew if this miracle would ever occur again.
Est tried to keep his hands in place. “Don’t look as desperate as I am” the thought repeated until William’s kisses erased all thoughts in his mind. His hands roughly traced from William’s chest, to his hair. Clutching the ends, and pulling William’s head impossibly closer, deepening their kiss, as if he wanted to breathe William’s air straight from his throat.
They kissed like they were hungry, starving in fact. Teeth colliding, mouths opening and closing around the others'.
Est’s hips moved slightly. But William, thinking through the post-kiss daze, pulled his head back from Est's mouth.
“...Est…” he spoke the other’s name small but desperate, it was all he could muster out. “Home. Now.”
