Work Text:

It all started with a simple question in the Yuki family household. Today is Aigis’ and Makoto’s day off from their job with the Shadow Operatives, and the couple decided to spend the day playing with their adopted children and pet dog. A few years after Makoto and Aigis had gotten married, the two felt ready to start a family. Because Aigis can’t get pregnant due to being a robot, the couple went with adoption instead. Over the past several years, Aigis and Makoto adopted two children when they were babies and raised them as their own.

The first child they adopted was a boy with blue hair similar to Makoto’s. Aigis wanted to name their new son Makoto Jr., but Makoto suggested they name their son Minato instead since that was originally going to be his first name before his parents decided to change their minds and name him Makoto. The second child Makoto and Aigis adopted was a girl with purple hair. Aigis named their new daughter Metis after her sister. To round out the family, Makoto and Aigis also adopted one of Koromaru’s puppies, whom they affectionately named Koromaru Jr.

Both Minato and Metis know about their mother’s true nature as an Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon. However, Metis doesn’t fully understand it due to her young age and mind and just thinks her mother, and by extension Labrys, is magical like their Aunt Lizzy while Minato thinks it’s super cool how he has a robot superhero for a mom. Makoto and Aigis told their children many stories about Personas and Shadows but also allowed Minato and Metis to decide for themselves if all of that is real or not. As far as the kids know, their parents work for Aunt Mitsuru at the Kirijo Group.

Metis, now six years old, ran into her mother’s lap and hugged her while Makoto and Minato, now eight years old, played monkey in the middle with Koromaru Jr. and one of his chew toys. Aigis gently strokes her daughter’s hair with her hand and kisses her on the forehead, earning a loud giggle from Metis. It was then that Metis asked Aigis a question that’s been on her mind for quite a while.

“Mommy, how did you and Daddy meet?” Metis asks which surprises Aigis at first, but the blonde gynoid’s expression quickly transforms into a fond smile as the memories of her first encounter with Makoto floods back into her mind.

“My, my, what brought this on?” Aigis teases as she tickles her daughter, eliciting another loud giggle from her daughter. Makoto tosses the chew toy to Koromaru Jr, who easily catches it with his mouth.

“Man, it’s been a long time since we’ve first met. How long has it been, Aigis?” Makoto wonders as he stands up and stretches his limbs.

“It’s been approximately 16 years, 11 months, and 25 days since our first encounter at Yakushima, Makoto.” Ever since Makoto proposed to her, Aigis had stopped referring to him with honorifics. After all, there was no need to keep using them now that they’re married. Makoto stares at Aigis in disbelief.

“It’s been that long? God, I feel old.” Makoto mutters as he allows himself to fall onto a seat on the sofa. Aigis climbs onto the sofa with Metis in tow, seating herself next to her husband while letting Metis sit on her lap.

“Tell us, Mommy! Pleeeaaase.” Metis begs.

“Of course, sweetie. Makoto, would you like to start?” Aigis asks her husband, and Makoto responds with a nod and wraps an arm around his wife’s shoulders.

“Sure. Minato, would you like to listen too?” Makoto asks his son, patting a spot next to him on the couch.

“Yes! Yes! Let’s go, Koro!” Minato bursts excitedly and jumps onto the couch next to his father. Koromaru Jr. follows after the young boy and jumps onto Makoto’s lap, getting an “Oof!” from the older man.

“Everyone’s settled?” Makoto questions, receiving two yeses, an affirmative, and an enthusiastic bark all at once. “Sounds good. Let’s begin.”

Remember the beach we went to last summer in Yakushima? It all started there when I was a student with your aunts and uncles. Your Uncle Junpei wanted me and your Uncle Akihiko to help him with a special mission. The name of this mission is a little inappropriate for you two, so let’s call it Operation Yakushima Beach Fling. Actually, that doesn’t sound appropriate either. Let’s just call it The Special Mission.

“You mean we’re gonna pick up girls?” asked Uncle Akihiko. He and I didn’t know what your Uncle Junpei was planning, though neither of us were excited. In fact, Uncle Akihiko wasn’t impressed with Uncle Junpei’s plan at all.

“How ‘bout it, Sanada-san? With you on the squad, we’re guaranteed to succeed!” persuaded Uncle Junpei.

“But isn’t Uncle Junpei married to Aunt Chidori?” Minato questions, tilting his head in confusion. The Yuki family and Iori family would often visit each other as Aigis and Chidori love to set up playdates for their children, which proved to be quite successful. Minato and Metis became fast friends with Junpei’s and Chidori’s daughter Saisei.

“Yes, but this was before your Uncle Junpei-san met your Aunt Chidori-san. Back then, your Uncle Junpei-san liked to call himself a “ladies man”, as they say.” Aigis explains to her son, using her fingers to add quotation marks for “ladies man”.

“Uncle Junpei’s silly!” Metis squeals with laughter.

“Big time.” Makoto agrees. “Now, where was I…”

“I should’ve known this was your plan.” grumbled Uncle Akihiko. He wasn’t very thrilled about the idea and asked me what I thought about Uncle Junpei’s plan. I was too busy looking at a crab to give an answer, but Uncle Akihiko still made me the leader of The Special Mission.

“What!? WHY!?” whined Uncle Junpei. Even though Uncle Junpei likes to tell you two how cool he is, he used to be very jealous of me long ago. I was just that awesome.

“You said it yourself: this is an operation.” said Uncle Akihiko.

“Aw, man, that’s unfair! You better take this seriously, Makoto. It’s an important operation.” Uncle Junpei told me. In a way, he was actually right. It’s because of this mission that I was able to meet your mother, but don’t tell him I said that. I won’t hear the end of it.

“Chidori-san wouldn’t be happy to hear how Junpei tried to hook up with other women anyway.” Aigis points out, which Makoto nods at in agreement.

“Was Mommy the first girl you talked to?” Metis asks her father, but Makoto shakes her head.

“Nope. Your Uncles and I had to go through a few obstacles first.” Makoto answers as he ruffles her daughter’s hair. “Let’s see…”

“Ooh! Target sighted! Let’s move in for the kill!” yelled Uncle Junpei. We found two ladies talking to each other, which made your Uncle Junpei really happy. He was planning on showing off and talking to the two ladies by himself.

“Okay, this is my area of expertise, so lemme give you some pointers.” Uncle Junpei told me and Uncle Akihiko.

“I won’t tell you the advice your Uncle Junpei told us. It wasn’t very good advice, and you’ll definitely get into trouble if you try to use it. Also, don’t try asking Uncle Junpei or Uncle Akihiko what it was either. They’re more responsible now. Plus your Aunts Chidori and Mitsuru will get mad at them.” Makoto tells Metis and Minato, making it clear to them that Junpei’s so-called pointers were off limits.

“That is correct. Besides, you two are much too young to date. Metis and Minato are my babies forever.” Aigis states as she gives Metis an overly affectionate hug, receiving a squeal of joy from her daughter. Meanwhile, Minato makes a face.

“I don’t care about that dating stuff. Romance is icky.” Minato grimaced, causing Makoto to chuckle in response.

“Sure, kiddo. Just wait a few years. Then we’ll see.” Makoto smirks at his son. “Now then, let’s continue the story.”

Talking to the two ladies was an epic fail. Uncle Junpei was messing up real badly, and the ladies were very mad we were bothering them. Uncle Junpei tried to convince the two ladies to give us a chance, but it only made things worse. Eventually, they just left, and Uncle Junpei was disappointed. Of course, this was only the beginning.

“…Yeah, you were “playing catch” all right.” taunted Uncle Akihiko. He knew the mission would end badly, but Uncle Junpei didn’t want to give up.

“H-Hey, I did my best! What about you, Sanada-san? If that’s how you feel, then show us how it’s done!” challenge Uncle Junpei. If there’s one way to get your Uncle Akihiko to do anything, it’s by making it a competition.

“Does Uncle Aki like winning that much?” Metis asks curiously, and Aigis shakes her head.

“Not quite. Your Uncle Akihiko-san prefers showing off how strong he is, though I’m not quite sure how Junpei-san twisted this operation into a contest of strength.” Aigis explains as she looks towards Makoto for answers.

“Junpei basically tricked him.” Makoto replies with a shrug. “You’ll see.”

“Why do I have to show you anything?” asked Uncle Akihiko, who was pretty surprised by Junpei’s sudden challenge.

“Well, you said this was an operation, didn’t you? Aren’t we supposed to work together in order to succeed?” replied Uncle Junpei. This is one of the rare moments Uncle Junpei outsmarted someone with the rules. Even Uncle Akihiko was in disbelief.

“I guess you’ve got a point there. Fine, I’ll give it a shot. I’m sure I’ll do better than you at least.” said Uncle Akihiko. It was at this point that Uncle Akihiko started having fun with the mission too and asked me to help him.

“Did Uncle Akihiko do better than Uncle Junpei?” Minato inquires as Metis stares at her father with curious eyes.

“Well… about that.” Makoto awkwardly responds as he cringes at the memory.

“Oh, oh! Spotted a new set of targets!” shouted Uncle Junpei as we found two new ladies talking. Uncle Akihiko didn’t move an inch when he saw them.

“Why didn’t Uncle Aki move?” Metis questions as she looks between Aigis and Makoto for an answer.

“If I had to guess, it was because he was nervous.” Makoto simply states, surprising Minato.

“How?! Uncle Akihiko is strong! He fought bears! How can he be nervous talking to girls?!” Minato protests with Koromaru Jr seemingly voicing the same sentiment in a series of barks. Whenever the former S.E.E.S. members have a gathering with their families, Akihiko would always tell the children stories about his travels around the world, which of course included getting into fights with bears in the wild.

“Fighting enemies and talking to someone you like are two very distinct things, Minato. I’m quite talented when it comes to eliminating shadows on the battlefield, but I do get shy when I’m alone with your father sometimes.” Aigis admits, blushing profusely when she glances at Makoto.

“If Uncle Aki is scared to talk to girls, then how did he marry Aunt Mitsuru?” Metis wonders out loud as it did seem strange to her. Metis knows Uncle Akihiko as Mitsuru’s husband and Setsuka’s dad.

“Let’s just say that nothing’s too impossible for Mitsuru-san.” Aigis answers cryptically with a wink. Metis still didn't understand but decided to take her mother's word for it.

“Love is weird.” Minato mutters, which Makoto was able to hear and finds amusing.

“You’ll understand when you’re older, son.” Makoto states before continuing his narration.

“What’re you waitin’ for, Sanada-san? Show us what you got.” said Uncle Junpei. We found two new women for the special mission.

“Just keep your mouth shut. All right, time to get in the ring.” responded Uncle Akihiko. He was really determined to beat Uncle Junpei in the mission.

Despite acting brave, Uncle Akihiko was really nervous when he talked to the two ladies. It didn't help that they knew what we were doing. They told us they were older than we thought, but Uncle Junpei told them that it was fine. Another reason not to ask about Uncle Junpei’s advice. Regardless, none of that mattered in the end. Both ladies already had boyfriends and left right after. Honestly, that whole conversation was pretty embarrassing to go through.

“Sanada-san! What happened?! We looked like a bunch of idiots! And you! You haven’t been pulling your weight either! You gotta come through on the next one, you hear me?” Uncle Junpei told me.

“Was Uncle Junpei mad at you, Daddy?” Metis asks her father, who gave her a smile to keep from worrying..

“He was a little mad, but I don’t think he was actually mad at me. He was just mad that the special mission wasn’t working like he wanted it to.” Makoto reassures his daughter.

At that point though, I had stopped caring about the Special Mission and just went along with whatever Uncle Junpei and Uncle Akihiko were doing. We continued looking for more ladies, but Uncle Junpei and Uncle Akihiko tried sneaking up on them for a surprise hello, but only ended up getting us slapped and scaring the ladies away. I can’t remember the last woman we talked to on the mission. I wasn’t paying attention anymore. I think it was either a weird lady trying to sell us weird sunscreen or Uncle Yu’s teacher. Or maybe it was someone else. Whatever the case, Uncle Junpei and Uncle Akihiko freaked out, and we ran off.

“This sucks so much.” said Uncle Junpei. Even Uncle Akihiko was disappointed. It was a pretty sad sight, but they tried their best. “What’s wrong with you? I thought you weren’t interested in picking up chicks?”

“If I’m in a match, I want to win. I know what our problem is. You can’t control yourself.” answered Uncle Akihiko, and he wasn’t wrong. Uncle Junpei tried to be the first person to ask out every lady we met and was very eager with his attempts. He just needed to slow down.

“What?! Don’t blame this on me!” yelled Uncle Junpei. Of course, he didn’t want anyone to think it was his fault. The mission turned into Operation: Epic Fail.

“I’m just stating the obvious.” said Uncle Akihiko.

“It’s not like you scored either, Sanada-san! Why do you always gotta be so logical, even in front of babes? It doesn’t make any sense!” shouted Uncle Junpei.

“Uncle Junpei sounded like a really different person.” Minato points out to his parents. Aigis softly giggles at her son’s observation while Makoto nods his head. While Junpei is still a goofy, fun-loving person even in his adult years, he also became a responsible and caring person who strives to bring out the best in the children of S.E.E.S., always looking out for them and act as a motivator. As a baseball coach, Junpei would always come up with fun activities for the kids to enjoy.

“Your Uncle Junpei was admittedly really immature back when we were students, especially when it came to girls. It wasn’t until he met Aunt Chidori that he started to grow up for real. We should thank her some time. Sure, Uncle Junpei can still be goofy from time to time, but he’s shown how much he’s matured now.” Makoto explains to Minato. Koromaru Jr. lets out a bark.

“Koromaru Jr. is asking what everyone else was doing. I’m assuming he means Mitsuru-san, Fuuka-san, and Yukari-san.” Aigis reports to her husband.

“Oh. The girls decided to take a walk in the woods that day. That’s why it was just us boys.” Makoto recalls as Metis looks up at her mother.

“Where were you, Mommy?” Metis asks Aigis, who softly boops the little girl on the nose.

“We’re about to reach that part, sweetie.” Aigis replies and turns her attention towards Makoto to continue the story.

“It’s my favorite part.” Makoto mentions as he winks at Aigis. The blonde gynoid blushes a little and playfully smacks her husband’s arm.

“What’d you just say?” asked Uncle Akihiko. He wasn’t happy at all about what Uncle Junpei just said, and the two continued to bicker a lot more. “That’s it! Leader, whose fault do you think it is?”

Because Uncle Junpei and Uncle Akihiko were arguing too much, I had to be brought in to put an end to it. I told them that it was both of their fault, which they weren’t happy about. Before there could be any more arguing made, that’s when it happened. We saw a girl with short blonde hair and a pretty blue dress standing by herself on the pier looking out into the ocean. When she turned around, I saw just how beautiful she really is. It was like a scene straight out of a movie. I think you kids know who I’m talking about.

“Mommy!” Metis shouts excitedly, and Aigis applauds her daughter for guessing the correct answer.

“That’s correct, Metis. You’re such a smart girl.” Aigis praises the young girl and kisses her on the cheek.

“Why were you by yourself on the pier, Mom?” Minato asks his mother.

“I guess this is the part where I take over telling the story.” Aigis responds with Makoto confirming her answer by nodding. “How should I start…”

I have recently awakened from a deep stasis after I had sensed your father’s presence. If he hadn’t come to Yakushima, I probably wouldn’t be here, and we wouldn’t have you two. However, at the time, I did not know who your father was at the time. All I knew was that I needed to go to the beach to find the person most precious to me.

Going to the pier wasn’t a guess. You see, your Aunt Labrys went to that same pier looking for the person most precious to her. While she couldn’t find that person, she wished for someone else to find their precious person. I inherited her feelings and made that wish come true when I met your father.

“Who was Aunt Labrys looking for? Was it Uncle Yosuke?” Minato guesses, but Aigis shakes her head no.

“It was long before she met Yosuke-san and us. Your Aunt Labrys was looking for… our mother. But that’s a story for when you’re older.” Aigis tells her son with a hint of sorrow in her voice. They’re much too young to learn about the horrors Labrys had to experience. Makoto hears it and places his hand over hers. Aigis smiles at the gesture, her papillon heart fluttering in her chest.

“I can’t wait to see Aunt Labby again! Uncle Yosuke and Niko-chan too!” Metis cheers at the mention of Labrys’ name. Just like Aigis, Labrys is unable to have children of her own due to being an android as well. Therefore, Labrys and Yosuke opted to go with the adoption route too. They adopted a baby girl with brown hair whom Labrys named Niko after the young girl Labrys and her sisters were based on. While Labrys couldn’t meet her mother, she wanted to honor her memory. As of right now, Niko Hanamura is around seven years old now.

“We’ll go visit them real soon.” Aigis promises her daughter. “Let’s continue the story, shall we?”

I decided to wait at the pier, not knowing your father was hiding behind a large rock with Junpei-san and Akihiko-san. At first, I thought I heard a sound but when I couldn’t find anything, I turned around to face the ocean once more. As I waited, I heard footsteps behind me.

“Uh, hey… I’ve noticed you’ve been, uh, starin’ at the ocean. So, um… you here with anyone? My name’s J-Junpei.” Your Uncle Junpei-san was the first person to approach me at the pier. My first thought was how odd his name was. It was only later that I learned Junpei-san was stuttering when he introduced himself to me due to nervousness. I hope he didn’t stutter again when he introduced himself to Chidori-san.

“Er, um… I was just wondering if you’d be down to talk. If you’re not busy, that is. I mean, it’s more fun than standing here all by yourself, right?” Unfortunately for your Uncle Junpei-san, I had no interest in having a conversation with a stranger, even if he did introduce himself to me. I told him that I was looking for someone.

“O-Oh yeah?” For some reason, your Uncle Junpei-san assumed he was the person I was looking for. I was quick to inform him that he wasn’t that someone, and he left in a dejected manner.

“I remember the expression he had on his face when he came back. He didn’t expect you to reject him that quickly, Aigis.” Makoto informs the blonde gynoid, chuckling to himself when he recalls the memory.

“Why did Uncle Junpei talk to Mommy first?” Metis wonders as she looks at her father almost accusingly. Makoto sheepishly rubs the back of his head.

“We played a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors to see who gets to talk to your mom first, and I ended up losing.” Makoto informs his daughter as he feels almost embarrassed.

“Do not worry, Metis. This was a case of “saving the best for last”, as they say.” Aigis tells her daughter as she gives a wink to her husband. “After your Uncle Junpei-san had left…”

“Oh hey, do you like the ocean?” Your Uncle Akihiko-san was the next person to approach me. His method of introduction was asking if I had a fondness for the ocean, though I wasn’t sure I was the person he was asking which I relayed to him. I admit, looking back at it now, the ocean was a beautiful sight, but admiring the ocean wasn’t my priority at the time.

“Oh, uh, yeah. I mean, I like the ocean. You know, I heard something interesting about triathletes who train at indoor pools. Apparently, they get outperformed by athletes who train in the ocean.” Your Uncle Akihiko-san decided to share that piece of information with me. Unfortunately, it wasn’t useful in finding your father, so I informed Uncle Akihiko-san that his information was irrelevant to me. Similar to Junpei-san, Akihiko-san left in a defeated manner.

“Akihiko was pretty much in denial that he lost, but he was at least happy that he talked to you longer than Junpei did.” Makoto states as he pets Koromaru Jr. The young pup lets out another bark.

“That is correct, Koromaru Jr.” Aigis answers the young pup, patting him on the head.

“So that means Dad was next to talk to you.” Minato points out which excites Metis greatly.

“Affirmative. Makoto, would you like to tell them about our encounter?” Aigis suggests it to her husband, and Makoto grins in response.

“Sure thing.” Makoto answers. “Back to the story…”

“It doesn’t matter how long you talked to her! Ugh, this sucks, I could cry…” groan Uncle Junpei. He felt so bad about losing that even Uncle Akihiko started to feel sorry for him.

“Hey, don’t cry! You’re making me feel bad…” said Uncle Akihiko. Things were looking bad for us, but we weren’t ready to give up yet.

“Well, that’s where we are. If you can’t pull this off, I’m gonna be traumatized for the rest of my life.” stated Uncle Junpei. I was basically the group’s last hope for mission success. I actually felt nervous because I’ll be talking one-on-one with your mother. Even though I had never met her before, something about your mom drew me towards her. It was as if we had met each other before.

“We’re on the ropes, but it’s not over yet. It’s all up to you now” adds Uncle Akihiko. Even he was putting his faith in me. For the first time since the operation started, I was actually into it. After deciding to avenge my comrades, I walked onto the pier towards your mother. In my mind, I was wondering what I should say to her, so I decided to go with the first thing that popped up in my head.

“It’s almost time for full tide, huh?” As soon as I spoke those words, your mother turned around and at that moment I felt my life had changed. I was so enamored with your mother that I was left standing speechless. I thought she was feeling the same thing because neither of us said a word after a while. We were just staring at each other in awe. Eventually, your mom was the first person to say something.

“You are…” Your mother tried to say. I was still mesmerized by your mother, but I think she heard your Uncle Junpei and Uncle Akihiko from our hiding spot. Then, your mother said something that was weird to me at the time.

“Initiating evasive maneuver. Confirmation must be made at a secure location.” spoke your mother as she suddenly dashed off from the pier into the forest.

“My apologies, Makoto, but I’ll have to interrupt you right here.” Aigis interjects as Makoto looks at her in confusion. He thought he was doing a good job retelling their first encounter.

“What’s wrong, Aigis?” Makoto questions his wife, wonder why Aigis had to interrupt his retelling. However, deep down inside Makoto, he had a feeling he knew what Aigis was going to bring up.

“Your retelling of our first encounter is nearly 100% accurate with the exception of one glaring inaccuracy. When you greeted me, you did not say “It’s almost time for full tide." Instead, the first words you spoke to me were "Hey, baby”. Aigis responded and mimicked Makoto’s voice when she said the words “Hey, baby”, causing Minato and Metis to burst out laughing.

“Don’t be silly, Aigis. What are you talking about? I would never say something so corny.” Makoto tries to deny, though his cheeks turn red with embarrassment.

“Unfortunately, Makoto, you did say such a corny time. I have it said to be saved in my memory banks. You walked up to me and said “Hey, baby!” to me.” Aigis recalled, which only made their children laugh harder. Makoto covers his face to hide his embarrassment.

“Hey, baby!” Minato laughs in an attempt to imitate his father as a teenager, and Aigis laughs at her son’s antics. Suddenly, a question popped up in Metis’ mind.

“Mommy? Why did you run from Daddy after he talked to you?” Metis asks her mother.

“You see, I was still unsure if your father was the person I was looking for, so I decided the best court of action was to wait until we were alone together.” Aigis explains before looking at Makoto. “I believe it’s my turn to take over the story.”

Later that night, I returned to Yakushima beach to find your father. He was at the beach with your Aunt Yukari-san because she was given some bad news that later turned out to be untrue. By the time of my arrival, your father and Aunt Yukari-san were surrounded by a large horde of shadows. To ensure their safety, I jumped in and made what you would call a superhero landing, as they say. It was right then and there that I confirmed your father was the person I’ve been searching for.

“Look out!” Aunt Yukari-san tried to warn me of an incoming shadow attacking me from behind, but I was able to destroy it in a single blow. In order to protect your father and Aunt Yukari-san, I immediately summoned my Persona at the time, Palladion.

“She’s a Persona user?” It came as a shock to Aunt Yukari-san as I wasn’t meant to reveal myself as a Persona user that early. With a single attack Palladion eliminated most of the horde, leaving a couple of stragglers behind. The shadows fired multiple explosive spells at me, but I evaded them quite easily. Unfortunately, my sundress caught fire and burned away during the fight. I leaped over the shadows and fired at them with no mercy until there were none remaining. After another successful landing, I walked towards your father and hugged him. I told him that my highest priority was to be by his side.

“Mommy saved Daddy!” Metis cheers happily with Koromaru Jr. barking along with her.

“Mom was like a Featherman!” Minato agrees, though Makoto looks at Aigis oddly. Sometimes when Makoto and Aigis tell their children stories about their adventures with S.E.E.S. or with the Shadow Operatives, Aigis would embellish details to make them grander than they actually were. This is one of those times.

“Aigis, none of that actually happened.” Makoto tells the blonde gynoid, who looks back with a coy smile.

“Whatever do you mean, Makoto?” Aigis questions while acting clueless and innocent. Makoto smirks at his wife and kisses his wife on the cheek.

“Well, for one thing, that talk I had with Yukari happened the night before I met you and there were no shadows involved. Also, how did you even know about that talk? You weren’t there when it happened.” Makoto puzzles as he raises an eyebrow curiously.

“Yukari-san told me how you consoled her that night. It’s part of why you’re such a great person, Makoto. You always help them in their time of need.” Aigis compliments, causing her husband to fluster from the praise. Minato and Metis look at their parents confused.

“Wait, that didn’t happen? Mom didn’t save Dad and Aunt Yukari from the shadows?” Minato asks his parents.

“Oh, your mom saved my butt plenty of times in the past. It just didn’t happen on that one night.” Makoto simply replies, causing Aigis to puff her cheeks and pout at him. He really had to ruin her fun.

“What did happen then, Daddy?” Metis adds, looking at her father in particular.

“Well, after your mother ran into the forest, your Uncle Junpei told me to go after her.” Makoto continues as the children listen intently.

“Hey, what did you say to make her run away like that? Well, what are you waiting for? Go after her!” shouted Uncle Junpei. For some reason, Uncle Junpei thought I said something mean to your mom. Not sure why he automatically went with that assumption. Then again, he only saw your mom run off without knowing any of the context.

“This could turn into serious trouble! You gotta go tell her you’re sorry! If you don’t, we’ll get all the blame! Go on, you can catch her if you hurry! C’mon, go after her! Get on your knees, beg for forgiveness, and introduce her to me! Please…?” pleaded Uncle Junpei. I ignored the last part of that request.

“The way she just darted off is odd… I’m not sure what you said to her, but you better clear up the misunderstanding.” said Uncle Akihiko. Even he thought I said something bad to your mom. Guess seeing her run from me that fast caused them to panic. Either way, I did what they asked and followed your mom into the forest. I still wanted to learn more about her. Meeting her felt right to me.

I was actually worried that I did cause a misunderstanding with your mom, so I ran as fast as I could. I’m surprised I was able to catch up to her at all. Your mom runs like a ninja, and I was only just wearing swim trunks and flip flops. I had to stop a few times to catch my breath because we ran deep into the forest. After running what seemed to be forever, I finally found your mom hiding behind a large sign. Not wanting to scare her away by accidently, I chose to wait patiently. Sure enough, your mom came out of hiding and walked towards me.

“Now I am certain… I have found you. I have been searching for you. My highest priority is to be at your side.” said your mom. After she told me those words, your mom hugged me close. Even though I just met her, I knew there was something different about your mom. It made me want to get to know her more. The hug she gave me felt comforting, like I was safe with her. The rest of our friends would find us and meet your mom for the first time, but this is where the story ends for now. Soon after, your mom and I would fight side by side, fall in love, and save the world. We would also get two little rascals we proudly love to call our children, Minato and Metis. The end.

“Yay! I love the story, Daddy!” Metis praises as she hugs Makoto, who smiles at her and pats his daughter on the head.

“I think Mom’s ending was cooler though.” Minato counters, causing Makoto to playfully roll his eyes while Aigis giggles softly. Koromaru Jr. happily barks at the parents.

“Koromaru Jr. says he also enjoyed the story.” Aigis translates as the puppy wags his tail excitedly.

“I’m glad you all loved it. Talking about how your mom and I met brought back a lot of happy memories. Memories that I will never let go, especially now that I have you all with me at my side.” Makoto declares as he looks over at Aigis. The blonde gynoid smiles at her husband and kisses him on the lips, resulting in a lot of “Ews!” from Minato and Metis.

“Now then, everyone. It’s almost lunchtime. Minato, Metis, please go wash your hands while your father and I set up the table.” Aigis instructs, and the two children dash off to the bathroom with Koromaru Jr. following after them. The blonde gynoid then looks at Makoto.

“I never imagined we would ever have this life, but I’m happy that we do. I love you, Makoto.” Aigis lovingly states as a single tear streaks down her cheek.

“I love you, Aigis. I’m forever grateful to have met you.” Makoto affirms as he gently wipes the tear away and kisses his wife on the forehead. July 21st will always be an important day in the Yuki family household. It was the day Makoto and Aigis met each other for the first time yet reunited at the same time, and now they’re living their best lives together with two loving children and a dog. One big, happy family whom they’ll forever cherish.

Notes:

It's still Day 4 for me by the time this story is uploaded, meaning I managed to finish writing it just in time! I hope you all enjoyed the story.

Fun fact: Junpei's and Chidori's daughter Saisei is a direct reference to the same original character in a story that I'm co-writing with Rei_Arx. The name of the story is called Persona 3 Reload: The Calling*. Please check it out and give it a read if you have the chance. The link to the story is down below.

I'll be honest on that there's probably not going to be a fic for Day 5 as I'm going to focus the remaining week on the fics for Day 6 and maybe Day 7. I'm hoping I can finish them in time. Anyway, let me know what you guys think of this fic, and I'll see you all next time! Bye!
