The marvelous misadventures of Oxylus

Summary:

A work in progress collection of all my works correlating to my original character "Oxylus"

There will be character additions in the further future chapters, for now I'll keep the tags short,

Not sure where this will be going, PURELY self indulgent, anything could happen in the stories

Notes:

this was just a test run for me to craft some information correlating to my two favorite characters, gradually received the idea when internet was unable and this was the only form of entertainment for myself, I started this on 26/5/21 and then fully quit the project on 26/5/25, yes this is unfinished work I KNOW! and it's old as well, you could expect better things from me soon perhaps, the thought out ending was supposed to be a full on breakdown from oxylus until the manifestation vanished and she overheard an actual voice calling out to her so she left the place.

Work Text:

Sunlight slipped in through a small cracked lens in the window, it's exterior showcased a shattered appearance and was covered in the input of various insect remains, the bed's covers brushed against oxylus’s head, the smell of decay pushed contact with her nostrils, the figure aimlessly laid on top of the mattress, unwilling to departure, An owl mask covered most portions of the individual's face, carefully decorated in differing feathers, thuuudddd…

A basket which held shape far beyond it's time dropped onto the ground, it's entrance flew open as a pile of horse based figures spread across the floor, The intruder reacted negatively to the sudden sound and instantly jumped up from the vulnerable position the fellow had previously maintained, though unviewable, a wary expression took hold on the eyes, the defensive stance soon relaxed as the noise's source was located,

The creature gradually wandered over to the composite, carefully balancing each step without volume. The figure gently plopped upon the land, and quickly grasped a selected horse, fingers brushed against the pony's mangled mane, signaling the neglect which bestowed it's timeline,

A sign of communication finally emerged from the specimen, the raspy voice carried polite volume, the tone devoid of any interest,

"You, always were my favorite. Such a beauty, so cherished, so beloved..."

Her grip tightened on the corporate creation, few bits of plastic poked out from the weapon-embedded injuries on its forehead,

"I wanted to be. you. But now look at you..."

The individual ripped off a speck of the doll's hair and twirled it around before casting it aside, further contributing to the unmanageable environment, the fellow exclaimed once again, stopping between sentences, conversating with the inanimate object, every word carrying a stench of hatred,

"You're hideous,"

The creature paused, slowly wavering eyes around the residency, making sure to maintain awareness of the expandable hallways,

"I mean who would ever want to play with y─"

The statement was interrupted by the staggering force of the wind that blew open the window and led to the disorganization of pages which were previously attached to the walls, the person reached out for a particular one and firmly clenched it, the already torn up paper depicted a crudely drawn interpretation of a man who lacked facial features, An excruciating sigh escaped the fellow, a gesture of exhaustion as the facial demeanor amounted to no visible change, except they came to a realization,

"Right, I should likely get going... it didn't send me here to reminisce."

The individual gazed around the location for the last time, adjusting the exterior to memory, a glance of hesitancy was present in the behaviour

"...About some worthless memories"

The person stood up, distancing from the unhygienic floorboard, and picked up an owned flashlight from the structure of the mattress, the feathery fellow gently sat on the supportive construction of the broken window, and glanced off into the far distance, The grass fields mixed with the abundance of agriculture resulted in a rather scenic view, for a moment, the thoughts faded, the horrors vanished, the world was a privilege. However, such things would not last, the peace was quickly overtaken by immediate paranoia. Something was wrong, a momentary noise, which deliberately matched the sound of flapping feathers,

"No that can't be... unless─"

The proxy quickly resorted to monitoring the smallest movement inside the building, yet something had caught them off guard, near the dim hallway, the presence of a silhouette flickered momentarily, the specimen's eyes glinted, reconsidering the peculiar manifestation, the anomaly made no attempt to vanish, the person blinked once again, with an increased duration of closure, but to no avail did it fade, the beast had marvelously shifted in front of the individual, only bearing head distance, it's appearance was prominent, the features stood out drastically,

The skin colorized by hunter green, heavy sized wings, both toppling three feet, claws inching over five centimeters, trailing disheveled hair, and the absence of facial exterior, not to mention the hovering height, which exceeded the other person's by a staggering limit, the creature weld it's arms over the proxies torso, soon the two were pulled into a weighed embrace, the gesture lacked any sign of genuine warmth, oxylus froze in motion, unable to depart from the hug, no words were conducted, her mouth couldn't mutter a singular sentence, as the eyes began to drizzle,

For a signature of confirmation, oxylus reached out to the creature, trying to craft contact with it's arm, although the hand merely pushed through, the person disappointedly sighed, they well had a clue, the abomination in front was alas a manifestation, yet it collided against the bonds of reality, a thought soon took root in the feathery fellow's processors, filling them with more unbearable dread.

‘Is this all I’ll ever be?’
