Notes:

Hello. This is another addition to my Superbat Omegaverse story collection.

I’ve been wanting a fic like this for while. So sometimes you simply have to bite the bullet snd write the fic you want to read.

This was inspired by a tumblr post. Oh and it’s the first Clark/Bruce fit to use the Baby Trapping tag!

Alright. Let’s go!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: How To Make Him Stay

Chapter Text

Bruce had a problem.

He hated having problems, especially this one. Because this one was different, it wasn’t one he could easily solve with his gadgets or various safety plans. Because this was an emotional problem, and he wasn’t very good at solving those.

The truth was…..he was in love with Superman, Clark Kent.

He wasn’t sure when exactly it had happened, no Alpha had ever gotten his attention. Many had tried to get Bruce’s attention, ever since presented as an Omega at sixteen and the press caught wind of it. What Alpha wouldn’t want to mate a billionaire Omega with virtually no family so they could have access to the Wayne funds? He’d had to fight off several assholes over the years. The only Alphas he liked were his friends Oliver, Zatanna, Constantine…surprisingly, and some of his employees.

But Clark was different. He never released his pheromones on purpose around him, he’d never gotten mad at Bruce, an Omega, telling him what to do or correcting hi pm during meetings. Usually Alphas would get pissed at him for doing that, and would try to ‘put him in his place’ whatever the hell that meant. But Clark had never done that, far from it. He’d always been kind, accepting his suggestions and improvements. And don’t get him started on Clark’s scent, the Alpha smelled of sunflower fields, old books, and absolute heaven!

Something had to be wrong with him, developing feelings for his coworker was a terrible thing! He couldn’t possibly let that happen….but then something happened, he’d gotten injured and his identity and subgender got exposed to the league. He’d expected anger, after all there was a reason he took military grade scent blockers. Nobody in their society would ever approve of a ‘delicate’ and ‘fragile’ Omega to do what he did as Batman, he also got enough criticism for running a company as Bruce Wayne. So he’d expected to be yelled at, be told by the Alpha that he was putting himself in danger, but that wasn’t what happened.

Clark came to the manor to visit him while on permanent bed rest as per Alfred’s order. He’d even brought him a freshly baked pie that according to Clark was his Ma’s recipe. And as he accepted the blueberry pie and looked into Clark’s blue eyes and took in his scent, he knew he was doomed. Alpha had come to see him, Alpha had even brought him food.

Once he’d accepted that he had feelings for Clark his entire focus shifted. First, he learned everything there was to know about him. He’d done research on the Kents, he brought the bank they owned money to when he found out they were in debt and were about to loose their farm. He’d half expected Clark to be angry, all Alphas got upset if an Omega did as much as pay for their coffee order. But Clark hugged him really tightly and thanked him, and gods, every scent he spent was worth it as he got crushed by Clark and could smell the scent coming right from his scent gland.

And of course, he’d learned all that was available about Kryptonian and their home world. He’d even asked Kara, whom he wasn’t extremely fond of but he’d have to get along with if he was ever to mate her cousin, to teach him Kryptonian. She’s questioned him on why he’d want to, he’d just said that it was good to know many languages, even alien ones. And to drive the point home, he pointed out that it would be good for her to teach Kryptonian to someone else, as that way, she herself would not forget her native tongue. In the end Kara agreed and he’d been learning Kal’s language and culture for the past few months.

The question was no longer if he liked Clark, but rather how to get Clark. Clark was everything his inner Omega had ever wanted in Alpha, he was caring, didn’t seem to mind his independence, valued his opinion. And sure there was the biological appeal, Kal was the strongest Alpha on the planet, he was tall, handsome, literally what every Omega wanted.

But that was just the problem! He was what every Omega wanted, and at every event where Bruce saw him, Clark got flirted with at least once by other Omegas. Why would Clark ever pick him when he had so many Omegas, Betas, heck even some Alphas throwing themselves at him?

Confess his feelings directly you say?

Absolutely not!

He had a terrible history with relationships. He’d briefly had a thing with Talia Al Ghul, an Alpha, had ended horribly after he found out she only wanted him so he’d produce an heir to her family’s empire. His relationship with Selina had also blown up in his face. He’d taken rejection before, but if Clark rejected him….no, he wouldn’t survive that. How would he face him as Superman? No other Alpha would ever feel as right, no other Alpha could ever match Clark.

He had to figure out a way to get Clark to himself and keep him to himself. The question was how.

The answer was surprisingly simple. Something so old school that he thought himself stupid for not thinking of it earlier. What as the most cliche way an Omega would keep an Alpha….a child.

A pup.

That was perfect!

Don’t get him wrong now, Bruce did want a family. He’d always wanted to find someone and eventually have children. Fill all the empty space and silent halls of Wayne Manor with the giggles of children running around. He’d had dreams about that, but recently, those dreams also had Clark in them, as the father of his pups.

He knew it was wrong, and how Alfred would certainly disapprove of this plan. But it was just so perfect, the ultimate way to get the Alpha he wanted without the risk of rejection. Because Clark, being the moral gentleman the Kents raised him to be, would step up immediately. He would take responsibility for a pup that was his, who knows, maybe he’d drop to one knee right then and there to propose. He was the type of Alpha who would want to try a relationship for the sake of the child.

And that was all Bruce needed, a chance. Once he got Clark to be around him more he was sure he could get the Alpha to fall for him. He’d have nine months, to show Clark how he was the perfect Omega for him, that’s they’d make a great mated pair. He’d done harder things in less time than that, how hard could it be?

Now that he knew what he had to do there was no time to waste! He got to work. First, he knew a baby would require intimacy between him and Clark. So he had to prepare for that, Clark was a gentleman so of course he’d want to use a condom. And looky here, Bruce happened to have a box of condoms synthetically enhanced with Kryptonite to hold Kryptonian seed, though surely Clark wouldn’t mind the little holes he’d poked in every, single, condom.

Second, the perfect opportunity. He’d probably need to get Clark drunk to get him to sleep with him for the first time. How on earth was he supposed to get Superman drunk? He had no contingency plan for that!

But luckily, it seemed fate on his side. In the form of a group email Barry Allen had send to everyone. His birthday was coming up, and he wanted to throw a little party with everyone at the Watchtower to celebrate.

Bruce smiled to himself, that was his chance. He knew Kara would be invited, and if she was coming, there would certainly be drinks capable of getting a Kryptonian drunk. All he’d have to do was get Kal to drink some alcohol with a little pill in it, then drag him to whichever one of their rooms was closest, and the Alpha would be his. The plan was perfect.

He stopped taking his heat suppressants four days before the party. His scent would still be faint enough to fly under the radar for humans, but his Kryptonian would certainly be able to smell him.

The day of the party, he looked at himself in the mirror before heading down to the Batcave, looked down at his flat stomach. If all went right today, it wouldn’t be flat for much longer. He then looked at where his mating gland sat under the collar of his shirt, yeah, if things went according to planned, it wouldn’t be barren for much longer either.

He had to get pregnant, or Clark would never be his.

/————-/

Clark also had a problem.

Fine, it was the same problem, though he had no idea. A complex problem that he had no idea how to tackle properly without things blowing up in his face.

Because…..he was in love with Batman, Bruce Wayne.

He knew exactly the moment it had happened.

When he’d first met Batman, he’d thought the other man was an Alpha, or maybe a very large Beta, given that Batman never omitted a scent. It made logical sense, if anyone were to recognize a civilian as having the same scent as Batman would be a major security risk. He’d developed a crush pretty early on, many people would be careful around him due to his powers and dominant Alpha presence, sometimes even as Clark Kent, but Batman never gave a flying fuck about that. Clark lived for that, the way Batman wasn’t afraid to call him out, boss him around, it felt amazing to be treated as simply another person instead of some dangerous being.

It was odd at first, he’d only ever felt attracted towards Omegas. But after seeing Batman pull out lollipops from his utility belt to pass around to a group of terrified children they’d found after busting a trafficking ring, Clark was absolutely wiped! So Clark made peace with the fact he was attracted to all sub genders…except he wasn’t. After a plan went wrong and Batman got injured his scent broke though the suppressants and Clark could smell him for the first time. Bruce smelled like a lighting storm but with a sweet smell of honey underneath, it was lovely, intoxicating, and absolutely Omega.

He noticed Bruce had pulled away after the incident, not answering messages or calls unless they were urgent. It was understandable since it had led to Bruce revealing his identity to the league and also the fact he was an Omega. His leg was broken and so he was out of commission for a while, but sitting though league meetings without Batman was unbearable, especially since the only topic the others wanted to discuss was whether or not they should keep Batman as a member after finding out he was an Omega. That was ridiculous, Bruce had more courage and strength than half the Alphas he knew in his civilian life, really, they should have been praising him for all he’d done even as an Omega.

He’d wanted to see Bruce, so he went as far as to visit Wayne Manor. His Ma had taught him to never show up empty handed, so he’d baked Bruce a blueberry pie as a ‘get well soon’ gift. And when he saw the grateful smile on the Omega’s face as he accepted the gift Clark knew one thing, he wanted this Omega.

From that day on, he had a new drive. He’d gone on a deep dive about Bruce Wayne. Honestly, he was a little embarrassed to not have realized that the prince and knight of Gotham City were the same person. They shared the same heart beat, but he’d never bothered to listen in on Bruce Wayne’s heart beat during their limited interactions at galas and events. He had no reason to, everyone knew Bruce was an Omega, but the possibility of Batman being one had never even crossed his mind. But now, after this revelation, he would fall asleep every night listening to the Omega’s steady heart beat.

He’d researched everything an available on Bruce Wayne, and in the hidden places his reporter status allowed him access. He’d learned details about the accident that took away Bruce’s parents. Seeing the way reporters and curious strangers had chased and harassed him for years made Clark understand why Batman never liked speaking to reporters. Going thought gossip columns about teenage Bruce getting into fights at school with children who mocked him about his parents, made Clark understand why Batman had been so unapproachable at first, Bruce didn’t know how to make friends, he had a very small group of friends, the ones who’d stood of him a across his life.

The more he researched the harder he fell. Truly, Bruce was everything he’d ever wanted in an Omega. Bruce was kind, he was patient, he was intelligent, he never backed down from confrontation, and he was great with children. Clark had always wanted a large family, both from knowing that he was the last of his kind and also from having grown up on the farm as an only child, he’d wanted his child to have siblings to play with. And sure there was the biological appeal, Bruce was handsome, and while he didn’t have a traditionally Omega built , Clark though it was perfect. With his strength he’d probably crush any Omega he ever tried to mate, but Bruce could certainly take it.

But the most important things he’d learned, was that Bruce was lonely, extremely so. He’d never taken anyone to help him through a heat cycle due to his trust issues. Had very few friends and kept everyone in the Justice League at arms length. He intoxicated his own body with suppressants just so no one would know he was an Omega. Clark wanted to fix that, wanted to hold him, ravish him, take Bruce away from the loneliness and fill his life with love and the sounds of their pups running around. But how was he supposed to do that?

Just go up to Bruce and confess you say?

That wasn’t good enough.

He’d watched Bruce closely anytime they were at a gala or social event together. He’d seen many Alpha and Betas try their luck and ask Bruce out. If they were decent enough, Bruce would entertain them to a dance or some conversation. One time a very drunk Alpha tried to touch him so Bruce kicked him in the crotch. Whatever the case, the Omega would reject every single suitor, without fail. Clark had taken rejections before, his relationship with Lois had gone south pretty early on. But he’d never survive getting rejected by Bruce. How would he face the league and world alongside Batman ever again? And he’d never find another perfect Omega like Bruce. It was Bruce or nothing, getting rejected was off the table.

So he simply had to find a way to enter Bruce’s life and keep the Omega all to himself. The problem was how.

He’d pondered over this question for several weeks. Until a late night movie marathon opened his eyes. What was the most cliche plot ever written about an Alpha trapping an Omega into a relationship with them?

A pup.

That was it!

He’d always wanted a big family, he’d imagined several dark haired half Kryptonian pups running around a farm house in Smallville, with Bruce there caring for the children. And a pup would certainly righten Bruce’s life too. He was lonely, but he wouldn’t be so closed off and depressed all the time if he had someone to care for and an Alpha to help him and care for him along the way.

Clark was absolutely aware of how messed up the idea sounded, his Ma would hit him with her wooden spoon. But it was absolutely prefect, a perfect way to tie his and Bruce’s lives together, with no way for the Omega to reject him. Because Bruce loved children, he’d never want to abort his baby, or give them up for adoption. No, he’d want to keep and raise the baby, and given his stubbornness, he’d demand Clark take responsibility and share in the duties of childcare. And Clark was more than willing to fulfill them.

It was all Clark needed, a chance. Once Bruce was pregnant and needed an Alpha nearby for pheromones and to help him with basic tasks, he’d be there. He’d have nine months to prove to Bruce that he was the only Alpha for him, and that he should Clark claim his as his Omega. He’d fought Darkseid multiple times, now hard could this be?

So now that he knew what needed to be done, he simply needed to get Bruce alone. He’d have to bed the Omega, which would require Bruce to be relaxed. Which never happened, that man was paranoid beyond reason, it was so incredibly adorable! Sure he could just kidnap Bruce and lock him away in the Fortress of Solitude, but Bruce would certainly pull out his Kryptonite as soon as he found a way to escape somehow. No, it had to be genuine.

The easier way would be if Bruce was drunk. But he never drank actual alcohol at public events. That was fine, not like a little aphrodisiac couldn’t magically wind up inside his cup. But it had to be controlled enough that the only Alpha he’d be able to turn to for help was Clark, not anyone else.

Rao had smiled upon him when Barry had send an email to everyone in the Justice League. Next month was his birthday and he wanted to throw a party in the Watchtower to celebrate.

Clark smiled to himself as he read that email, this was his chance. Bruce would be relaxed, he didn’t need to put up so many walls around the other heroes anymore. He’d be more susceptible to drinking, especially if  Hal Jordan and Oliver decided to play one of their drinking games. All he’d have to do was place the pill into Bruce’s cup and wait a few minutes. A lot of league members were mated, the rest wouldn’t have an interest in Bruce at all. He’d just have to play the concerned friend and walk Bruce to his room, the Omega would smell his strong Alpha sent and beg him to come into the room. And then…the Omega would be his. The plan was perfect, Bruce’s detective mind would blame the alcohol mixed with biology and Clark would be in the clear.

So he stopped taking his rut suppressants three days before the party. People at the office had commented on it, he’d just said he was switching brands for health reasons. But they’d be stronger by the time the party came around, and one particular Omega would be able to smell them.

The day of the party, he styled his hair perfectly and made sure to wear his best clothes. Nothing too fancy, but that showed just enough of his body to entice and Omega. If all went right today, he wouldn’t be living I’m his apartment much longer, he’d be packing moving boxes very soon. He adjusted his collar and looked down at his scent gland, he knew Bruce would never be able to bite down on it, but he couldn’t wait to see him try.

He had to get Bruce pregnant, or the Omega would never be his.
