Work Text:
Everyone knew two things about Fujinaga Sakuya and Hirose Ryo.
Firstly: They had known each other forever.
Secondly: They absolutely could not stand each other.
At least, that was what they claimed.
Since childhood, the two of them had somehow always ended up competing.
Who was faster.
Who was smarter.
Who could finish a challenge first.
Who could annoy the other more.
Sakuya had always been naturally talented at everything he touched. Whether it was sports or anything requiring good skill (Ryo is better than him at grades), he seemed to pick it up effortlessly.
And Ryo?
Ryo hated that.
Not because he disliked Sakuya being good but because Sakuya always made it look so easy.
“You’re unbearable.” Ryo said, standing with his arms crossed.
Sakuya looked over they were both standing beside the ice rink dressed in their skating outfits and gear.
Ryo’s hair was slightly messy from pulling his helmet on and off, his expression was very determined despite the fact that he looked far less intimidating than he wanted. Ryo was adorable and Sakuya would deny it to your face but he had secret cuteness aggression over the smaller boy.
Sakuya raised an eyebrow. “That’s what you came up with?”
“Yes.”
“After all these years?”
“Yes.”
Sakuya sighed “You really haven’t changed.”
“Neither have you.”
“That’s probably because I’m perfect.”
Ryo stared with eyes as big as saucers “You’re joking.”
“Mostly.”
Ryo rolled his eyes.
This was exactly why they didn’t get along.
Sakuya was too confident and way too good at pretty much everything but most importantly he was cocky…And now, somehow he had been assigned to teach Ryo how to ice skate.
And it was going to be a disaster. A complete disaster.
The problem was that Ryo was very excited. He had only started skating recently, but that didn’t stop him from wanting to prove something aka wanting to show Sakuya that he’s better.
“I can do this.” Ryo said firmly.
Sakuya watched him carefully “You said that yesterday.”
“And today I mean it.”
“You fell yesterday.”
“I slipped.”
“You fell.”
“I lost balance.”
“You definitely fell.”
Ryo frowned “You’re not very encouraging.
“I’m realistic.”
“You’re annoying.”
“You’re welcome.”
Ryo pushed away from the edge.
Slowly and carefully. For a few seconds he actually looked confident.
Sakuya watched quietly because even though he teased him constantly, he had noticed something- Ryo tried harder than anyone.
Sure he got frustrated easily. He complained and argued but he never gave up and Sakuya respected that when Ryo wasn’t being an idiot. Unfortunately, he would never admit it.
“Your posture.” Sakuya called.
Ryo immediately looked over “What now?”
“Your shoulders.”
“They’re fine.”
“They’re tense.”
“I’m skating.”
“You’re preparing to fight the ice.”
Ryo looked offended “The ice started it.”
Sakuya laughed before he could stop himself.
Ryo immediately looked suspicious “You laughed.”
“I did not.”
“You did.”
“No.”
“You did Saku chan I saw it..”
Sakuya looked away. “Keep skating.”
That darn nickname always made Sakuya feel abit weird but he doesn’t mention it.
Ryo smiled slightly because making Sakuya laugh or blush even wasn’t a very common occurrence and Ryo has found himself to enjoy Sakuya blushing.
Ryo has never really complimented Sakuya much without it being teasing but he is very very handsome like Ryo thinks about him every second of the day but when he’s next to him he acts like a tsundere. Sometimes his older sister would say he acts like Natsuki from ddlc.
Now on the rink Ryo remembered who he was competing against, the confidence returned greatly. He skated closer a little too confidently.
“Sakuya.”
“What?”
“I think I’m getting better.”
“You’re improving.”
“That sounds like you don’t want to admit I’m amazing.”
“You’re not amazing yet.”
“Yet?”
Sakuya paused.
Ryo caught it immediately “Aha.”
“What?”
“You admitted there’s a chance.”
“There is always a chance.”
Ryo grinned “See? You believe in me.”
“I believe you’ll stop falling eventually.”
“That counts.”
Sakuya shook his head “You’re so stupid.”
“And you’re secretly impressed.”
“Keep dreaming.”
Ryo giggled cutely and then because he was Ryo he decided to be annoying. He started to skate closer to Sakuya by closer: too close.
Sakuya immediately noticed “Ryo.”
“What?”
“What are you doing?”
“Nothing.”
“You’re definitely doing something.”
Ryo leaned forward slightly, hed do this weird teasing thing where he’d bend his head down I guess and it was cute but he looked very silly. He begins looking up at him with a teasing smile because Sakuya was taller and he always had been.
Even as children, Sakuya had been the one reaching things from high shelves while Ryo complained calling him a stupid giant.
“You’re so serious.” Ryo said.
“And you’re so annoying.” Sakuya replied.
Ryo smiled “Good.”
“Good?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because it means you’re paying attention.”
Sakuya stared at him and for a moment, neither of them moved. The rink around them suddenly felt quieter. Sakuya looked down at him caught off guard by how close he was and definitely not at how pretty he looked.
But obviously Ryo noticed and immediately became smug.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“You looked surprised.”
“I’m surprised you haven’t fallen yet standing here like a stupid puppy.”
Ryo gasped “Rude.”
“You know I’m right.”
“I’m going to prove you wrong.”
Before Sakuya could answer, Ryo lightly bumped into him with his chest. It wasn’t enough to hurt but just enough to be annoying.
Ryo made it seem like a challenge or maybe a playful push. It was seriously adorable. Ryo has always been weaker.
Sakuya blinked and looked down at him with a look that you could only describe as hungry. Ryo’s lips were so pretty and smaller than his own but he’d constantly imagine how they feel. He’d do anything. Unfortunately Ryo is oblivious.
“You’re so incredibly annoying.” Sakuya whispered.
Ryo laughed “You’re just mad because I surprised you.”
The two began staring at eachother. Ryo’s beady eyes held even the furthest galaxies in them you’d seriously get addicted to them and frankly Sakuya was. He could feel himself getting warm so he decided to say something stupid.
“You fell so prettily earlier.”
Ryo gasped and stared surprised. His cheeks began turning pink and god it was genuinely the cutest sight ever.
He then immediately tried to skate away and immediately regretted it….
Because his decision lasted approximately three seconds. He slipped slightly and his arms flew out.
“Oh—”
Sakuya moved instantly. Before Ryo could fall, Sakuya caught him by the waist and pulled him back safely.
Ryo froze his hands grabbed onto Sakuya’s shoulders staring up at him wide eyed.
“You okay?” Sakuya asked.
Ryo blinked then looked away “…Yes.”
“You almost fell.”
“I was testing you.”
“You were falling.”
“I was not.”
“You were.”
Ryo opened his mouth then closed it because Sakuya once again unfortunately was right. Again.
“You’re so ridiculous.” Sakuya said quietly.
Ryo looked up “And you like that.”
Sakuya looked abit surprised but he smiled “Maybe.”
Ryo’s eyes practically popped out he wasn’t expecting that answer but before he could tease…
Sakuya gently tapped his chin, making sure Ryo was looking at him.
“Careful.”
Ryo blinked “With what?”
“With trying to get close to me but everytime I get close to you then you start blushing, finish what you start Ryo.”
That caught Ryo off gaurd and he shrieked.
“EH I don’t do that Sakuya!”
Sakuya could not help but laugh at how shocked Ryo looked. He was blushing and his face was pink. His words weren’t even coming out right.
“Sakuya you’re an id—“
And Ryo is cut off by a pair of warm bigger lips placed on his. He was surprised because he’s never had his first kiss so he doesn’t know how to kiss but he could feel something trying to poke through?
“Mmm S-Sakuya what is that..?”
“Just open your mouth Ryo”
And Ryo obeyed. His lips parted letting Sakuya slot his tongue into his sassy mouth. The taller boy began licking inside mixing with Ryo’s tongue as they started to dance.
There was drool slipping past Ryo’s lips clearly inexperienced but Sakuya could tell Ryo was enjoying it. He was moaning and grabbing onto Sakuya desperately. His small waist was held by the youngers big hands.
He could feel Ryo arch slightly overwhelmed by how good it felt.
“Saku I-I feel weird mmm….”
He parted slowly from Ryo’s lips, “What feels weird baby?”
The nickname ignited a harsher blush on Ryo’s cheeks, “d-d-down there.” He looked away shyly.
“Is that normal Saku?”
You see Sakuya could tell Ryo was playing around because they’re both old enough to know and Ryo wasn’t stupid.
“Hmm what’s wrong?” He asked teasingly with mock sympathy laced in his voice.
“I-I don’t know Saku it just feels really wet and weird.” Ryo pouted.
Sakuya gripped his waist and chin bringing him close than he was. Ryo’s crotch made contact with Sakuyas bent knee and just of course he starts grinding against it.
“Ryo.” Sakuya grunted out.
“What are you doing?”
Ryo was a whiny mess. His voice only let out moans. He was ruined by just humping his pussy on Sakuyas leg.
Sakuya traveled his hands to Ryo’s hair tugging it.
“I’m not about to have sex with you on a skating rink puppy.”
“Why pleasee Saku chan it hurts.” He whimpered.
“Let’s go home.”
And they do go home and what happens at home is a story for another time.
They had spent years pretending they were enemies but standing there on the ice staring at eachother. It was becoming harder to believe.
The rivalry was still there
But underneath it? Something else had always been there.
And maybe the ice wasn’t the only thing slowly melting.
——————————
“Sakuya you actual idiot I can’t even walk now! Or let alone look presentable I’m covered with purple.”
“Sorry baby, you were the one trying to have sex in a skating rink.”
“SHUT UP.”
