What he doesn’t expect is the next words that leaves the younger’s mouth, “what about me?”

He pauses for a second, his thoughts and brain becoming jumbled. “What..” he tries to clear his throat, “what about you?”

“What if I need to kiss someone? What if I’m out of practice? I haven’t kissed someone since I was a trainee,” Maki answers, his grip on Harua’s hand tightening even though Harua was the one who held it first.

or: Maki is very persistent and Harua is kind of weak for him.

Work Text:

For a spring Tuesday afternoon, it was chilly in the dorm, and especially in Harua and Nicholas’ room. Although, to be fair, Harua is pretty sure Yuma set their air conditioner below fifty last night— something about it being too hot. If you asked Harua, or even Taki, they’d say Yuma only said that because Jo was sitting really close to him.

Either way, it’s cold and this blanket isn’t doing much, but Harua doesn’t want to get up and meddle with the stupid ac. Everyone else is out today, they always like to go out together as a group at least once on day offs. Much to their complaint, Harua doesn’t. Nothing against them, he just likes time on his own sometimes.

He thinks about just stealing Nicholas’ blanket from his bed and trying to take a nap with the heaviness of the comfy, warm blankets on him. But even that seems like a hassle for a day meant for rest. Harua likes to take his rest days very seriously.

The drama he’s watching is at least picking up on the romance plot. One more episode of just plain background stories, and he would’ve quit because he wants to watch two people fall in love. That cannot possibly be a lot to ask for. This is a Korean drama too! According to Euijoo, it should be filled with romance!

A sudden knock on his door has him jumping and pulling the blanket closer. He eyes it wearily, confused on who could possibly be tapping on his door since he was sure everyone left like a hour ago. Honestly, he’s kind of scared to even talk. Maybe it’s staff. They shouldn’t have their dorm keys though.

“Hello? I know you’re in there, Rua!”

As creepy as that sentence sounds, the voice is all too utterly familiar which has Harua rolling his eyes dramatically. He doesn’t even respond knowing the boy is going to come in anyway with his loud, overwhelmingly puppy-clingy-like presence.

As if on queue, the door opened with too much strength that is probably going to leave their poor door creaking for the next few days. “Why didn’t you answer me? I need verbal communication from you,” Maki huffed, entering the room.

Why did you bang on my door and not say anything? I thought you were a— a robber that somehow got in,” Harua responded, shifting on the bed to make room for Maki. Too much room since Maki decided to grow in the speed of a dog in the past few years.

Smiling, the younger boy picked up the blanket from the other bed and laid it on Harua’s blanket, doubling the weight on Harua before sitting down too. He pulled the two blankets onto himself before moving closer to Harua making them shoulder to shoulder.

Harua wanted to scoff at how Maki just knew that Harua had been wanting that other blanket even without asking him or noticing how his body had been shivering. But Harua didn’t even think about complaining about the closeness, he’s grown accustomed to Maki’s warmness whenever they’re together.

Instead he spoke up noncommittally, eyes on the computer in his lap, “so why’re you here? Shouldn’t you be out— I don’t know arguing with Yuma over which hat is cooler?”

“I guess. Yuma seemed more focused on teasing Jo for having red ears,” Maki replied back half-giggling, half-smugly.

“Didn’t answer my first question.”

Maki hummed in acknowledgment, taking a few seconds of silence before giving Harua a response. It didn’t bother Harua though, he liked how silence with Maki felt grounding. “Came back early because I thought you might miss me,” he said nonchalantly.

That earned a small laugh from Harua which sounded more like he was offended than happy about the comment. “Yeah right. You’re around me so much, it feels like a reward when you’re not.”

“Uh huh, sure, whatever you say. I know you like when my attention is on you.” Is all Maki said back then he rested his head on Harua’s shoulder with a yawn.

Harua couldn’t deny it if he wanted to. He could lie about it, say that’s not true. But Maki would see through it anyway. Everyone suddenly can read Harua like a book whenever Maki’s near him. It’s kind of annoying since Kei will bring it up any chance he gets, announcing to everyone how sulky Harua looks when Maki isn’t focused on him. Whatever though. Let them read him.

They fall into each other easily now, watching the k-drama on the laptop, making some commentary here and there. Mostly Harua while Maki just agrees with a sound of reassurance to let the other know he’s listening.

The room doesn’t feel as cold anymore, and Harua doesn’t know if it’s because of the two blankets covering him or if it’s having Maki attached to him like a sloth to it’s tree. To be honest, Harua wouldn’t have known how much time has passed with just the two of them lying here if it wasn’t for the episode ending, signaling that at least a hour has passed.

“Want to watch another epi—“

“I have a question.”

Annoyed at the interruption, but intrigued in whatever has Maki curious, Harua turns to him blankly and blinks. His confused expression must be funny because it causes Maki’s serious demeanor to stumble a bit and a smile peak out.

“This is kind of a weird question,” Maki starts up again. He keeps eye contact with Harua for a solid five seconds before it shifts to his hands that he’s begun playing with. “And I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”

Harua smiles, “then don’t ask,” he says knowing he doesn’t mean it. But it’s fun watching Maki panic.

“I want to though! Like— really badly. It’s been bothering me a lot and—“

This time Harua disrupts him, “Maki, I’m just kidding. I know you like talking about whatever’s on your chest or else you’ll overthink it into oblivion,” he finishes with giggle.

Maki pouts and takes a deep breath. To be completely truthful, Harua isn’t used to the way Maki likes to talk about every detail until he’s sure how the other person feels. The first time he did this was during the audition program before they debuted. Finding out production aired that was awkward too. He tries anyway to get used it because he knows how much this means to Maki.

Tugging on a loose string on the fluffy, red blanket that is the original blanket Harua had, he looks directly at Harua. “Have.. um. I don’t really know how to word this— haveyoueverkissedoneofthemembers?”

It’s asked really quiet and sounds sheepish, making it horribly hard to understand what he mumbled out. And if it was asked in Korean, Harua would’ve had to just blink awkwardly and pretend he knew what Maki was asking of him. In the end, however, he understood.

“That’s a new one,” is what he comes up with saying because he doesn’t know why this could be the thing bothering Maki to the point he’s itching to ask him about it.

At least those four words release some tension from Maki’s shoulders because he groans and sits up to shove Harua’s shoulder. “I’m being serious.”

“I know, but it is new. Why are you asking that?” Harua questions back, tilting his head to prove his confusion over this astounding curiosity Maki has.

“Because.. I found out Euijoo has kissed Nicholas,” Maki mutters, crossing his legs and turning to face Harua fully. “And I didn’t, you know, think any of us did that.”

Harua sighs, thinking about how to approach this topic with Maki. It’s not like Maki’s a baby or anything, he’s twenty and he has definitely gotten close to kissing members before. Either from the pepero game, or just for fun when they joke on camera.

The lack of respondence from Harua is clearly bothering Maki though, who is getting restless and narrowing his eyes at him. “I have, yeah.”

Maybe he should’ve been more specific because it sets Maki off.

“What? Who? When? How come I didn’t know? I thought I was your best friend!” Maki exclaims, each word becoming louder from the last. He doesn’t actually seem mad though, despite his tone since Harua can tell from the way his eyebrows scrunch, he just feels confused and upset.

Shaking his head, Harua silences Maki with a finger until he’s sure Maki won’t have another outburst. He then places his laptop on the bedside table and turns back to the boy in his bed that is eyeing him like he committed a crime.

Maki waits for an exclamation as he taps his fingers on the mattress. “So? Talk?”

“Yes, Maki, I’ll talk.” Harua states sounding already done with this conversation. He engulfs his hands with his hoodie sleeves and at least looks the tiniest bit guilty when he continues, “I’ve kissed Nicholas too. Before, I mean. It was a long time ago like debut time.”

Slowly, Maki nods trying to obtain the information and be as normal as he can for someone who is finding out one of his closest friends has kissed another one of his friends. “Okay.”

The clock feels too loud with its unbearable ticking now and Harua tries not to look uncomfortable with this topic because Maki is just curious. That’s all, he tells himself.

Hesitating, he tries to speak again, “it didn’t really mean anything though. It was more of a heat in the moment thing— and well I think Nicholas just wanted someone to kiss at that time.”

“Why? Sorry, it’s just.. does Nicholas like Euijoo? Why would he kiss you then? That’s not fair on you,” Maki sulks. He sounds like he’s about to hold a grudge against Nicholas on Harua’s behalf which is the last thing Harua needs.

Harua moves closer to Maki, also crossing his legs. He takes a hold of Maki’s fidgety hands that move around too much and tries to look up at him seriously. Which is kind of hard since Maki feels like twice his size. “Don’t say that. I don’t like Nicholas like that. I just wanted to kiss someone too since  it’s like, you know, hard to do that often being an idol.”

“Oh,” Maki says, plainly. Though there’s not much Harua expects him to able to say back. He hopes this’ll end this conversation at least and clear some confusion Maki had.

And now Harua doesn’t know how to reply to Maki, or even process the fact Maki’s already had his first kiss. Obviously, he knew, somewhere in the back of mind at least. There’s no way with a face and personality like Maki’s that he hasn’t kissed someone. Anyone would fall too easily for him. Submit too easily for whatever he asks just because he looks like the sweetest thing when wanting something. Or maybe that’s just how Harua feels about him because the other’s reject Maki often.

“Do you even hear what you’re asking? You don’t mean this, Maki, jeez. Come on, let’s play another episode,” Harua awkwardly mumbles. His words feel like jelly, they’re so hard to coordinate.

When he tries to turn away from Maki to grab the now shutdown laptop, the other grabs his shoulders, kind of roughly, and practically forces him look at him again. Harua looks into Maki’s eyes trying to understand this sudden behavior and interest in the topic of kissing. He just finds Maki looking at him with begging, almost pleading eyes.

“I know what I’m asking, Rua. I think if I had to practice kiss anyone, it should be you. You don’t have to if you actually don’t want to, I’d rather die than force you to ever do something,” Maki says in the most earnest tone ever. He keeps staring deeply into Harua’s eyes before they shift to his smaller, in comparison, lips for just a few seconds until he catches himself.

He loosens his strength on Harua, it feels weird Maki is this strong now, and swallows loudly. Harua stares at the way his throat moves. “But if you’re only going to reject this because— fuck, I don’t know, for some selfish reason like it would be too awkward, then I’m going to be sad. Like crying in andaudition sad.”

It’s not often Maki brings up how he cried because he thought Harua didn’t like him. Actually, it’s never. Maki has basically banned that topic itself from ever being brought up. But, of course, his sneaky self would bring it up when it plays in his favor.

“Why me? Why don’t you kiss Taki?” Harua asks, trying to interrogate him even further. He is honestly enjoying how it feels to have Maki’s hands around him. He wants to keep that weight there.

Maki mocks him under his breath to which Harua slaps at his chest, softly, for. It’s cute though, watching how Maki will beam from the slightest touch from him, even if it’s just Harua being mean. “I don’t want to kiss Taki. I want it to be you. Because then if I like it, you’ll be a great person to keep practicing with! You know, to just keep me prepared, so I don’t forget how to kiss or whatever,” he replies, cheekily.

It’s nice how even with topics and discussions like this, there’s no tension between them. But Harua wouldn’t describe it a friend-like conversation either. He also refuses to unpack all that right now.

“Mhm, I’m sure. Fine—“ he starts. Maki immediately starts smiling way too hard, so he shushes him with a pout before continuing. “We can, um, kiss or whatever. But you better not make it weird after!”

“I don’t make things weird.”

“You make them hard to forget and ignore,” Harua responds with a small snort.

Maki pulls Harua close with his unknown strength, close the Hybe gyms, until Harua’s on his lap. This isn’t weird either, Harua’s been this close to Maki numerous times. “You won’t want to forget this.”

Okay, that has Harua’s heart beating faster because Harua is older than this kid, not kid, so why does Maki think he can talk to him like that?

It’s when Maki leans in close enough to the point their noses are touching and Harua can feel Maki’s breathing that it feels real and not something that Harua has imagined once or twice about.

Harua doesn’t bother taking the lead right away. He closes his eyes and opens his mouth slightly. When he feels pressure on his lips, he opens his eyes the slightest amount to see Maki up close with his plumper lips on his. He can’t help but slightly smile into the kiss and he knows Maki feels it.

It starts off slow. More like small pecks from Maki as he gets into it. Maki pulls back a few times and Harua gets sick of the build up. So he leans in this time, his arms looping around Maki’s neck to get into a better position. Harua doesn’t go slow, he kisses Maki right off the bat, not wanting to foreplay this like Maki any longer.

Maki’s lips are soft, really soft. The way he kisses is not. He kisses roughly like he’s worried Harua’s about to disappear. The way he pulls on Harua’s lips after every time he sucks on them hurts too. His teeth are sharp and tug harshly, but Harua likes it.

The kiss turns from just rough pulling and teeth clashing into open mouthed. Harua licks at Maki’s lower lip and revels in how Maki submissively opens his mouth for him — a dog on a leash. He kisses into his mouth, letting his tongue explore Maki’s wetness. It earns him a low groan which he swallows.

Maki must get tired of Harua having most of the action because his tongue moves past into Harua’s mouth changing the dominance. His hands find their way to Harua’s waist as well, staring to hold him there tightly. Harua prays it leaves marks.

He whines into Maki’s mouth when he feels Maki’s tongue touching everywhere in his own mouth. Maki kisses so passionately and desperately, and Harua guesses this is how he loves too.

When they finally separate, it isn’t for long. Maki leaves a small kiss at Harua’s salvia stained lips, even licks them. Harua pouts at that and whimpers so that Maki’ll stop. “Don’t do that, it’s gross.”

Maki’s voice is heavy, “it’s our spit, how is that gross?”

“Just is, freak.”

He doesn’t get a response, only an opened mouth, horribly wet kiss on the corner of his mouth before Maki sneaks down his jaw. Harua knows he should stop Maki because this is supposed to just be practice kissing, but then again, you can’t even call what they did kissing. That was a full blown make out. And he pretends to ignore that fact by grinding on Maki’s lap.

“Fuck, Harua,” Maki sighs, eyes closing for a smidge second. He quickly loses himself in the pleasure of Harua shifting and grinding on top of him by kissing Harua’s neck. More of biting than kissing.

His teeth sink into the side of neck just under his jaw deeply. He licks at the spot, giving it small pecks before he continues to latch onto it like a piece of meat. It just causes Harua to whine prettily for him and hold onto his neck tighter.

The room is the opposite now, it’s hot— burning. Harua knows he’s hard in his shorts and he can feel Maki’s dick hard underneath him too. He tries to move into a position so that he can at least try to get off on Maki’s thigh.

“Maki—“ he stutters when Maki interrupts him like he did earlier, but this time by kissing at his collarbone. “Mm— can I.. touch you?”

“You don’t have to ask. I’d let you do whatever you wanted to me, Rua.” And that itself could probably get Harua off.

Harua’s hands move to bulge in Maki’s sweatpants. He grabs it roughly before rubbing it through the clothed layers. In response, Maki groans against his neck that is covered in far too many bites to cover. Luckily, they have enough time off for them to hopefully fade— if Maki doesn’t keep bitting at the same place over and over.

It feels really good now and Harua doesn’t want to stop at all. He humps Maki’s thigh to the best of his abilities, trying to ride it until he can come. The more he does though, the harder it gets to multitask in between getting Maki off as well.

“You’re really pretty, do you know? I’ve always wanted to have you like this for me,” Maki says, sounding more breathless as Harua touches him. “Your hands are so small, but they’re really good. You’re so good. I wish this wasn’t through clothes.”

“Shut up, Maki,” Harua tries to reply, but he doesn’t even sound coherent to himself. Everything he says sounds like a needy whine and now Maki’s hands are moving his hips too

Maki moves him so their cocks are touching through their clothes and then he is moving Harua on his own. Harua is reaching a state of euphoria and he really doesn’t want to do any more work— not that he is since Maki is the one rubbing them together and helping Harua ride his legs.

“Are you close, Rua?”

Harua just nods with a tiny whimper, the more Maki touches him and grips him, the more he wants to moan out. He really likes how Maki is this strong.

He knows the other is smiling too. He looks at Maki and then kisses him again. Not as rough this time. It’s more deeper and they drink each other’s sounds up.

Before Harua can even register it, he comes in his shorts and falls limply into Maki’s chest. He feels overstimulated when Maki continues to rut against him, but he lets him do it anyway because he knows Maki is close.

Shortly following, Maki comes with a groan too, his chest heaving and his breathing too loud. Harua feels how Maki hugs him, holding him close as they come down from the high to normal again.

It’s Maki’s sweet, warm laugh that makes him open his eyes. He leans back the smallest bit to look him in the eyes questioningly. “What’s so funny?”

“I’m glad you’re freaky enough to turn some practice kissing into getting off with our clothes on,” Maki says, sounding the most entertained.

Harua doesn’t know why he asked. He grunts and lets his head rest on Maki’s shoulders. “It’s your fault for starting to kiss my neck— oh my gosh, Maki! Everybody’s going to know that all these marks are because of you!” He yells, sounding the least bit scolding. More like a petulant child.

“I don’t mind, Nico won’t kiss you anymore if he knows you’re taken.”

“You dog! I’m not taken and it was one time! Ugh, I should’ve never even let you bring this topic up.”

Maki shrugs and brings Harua closer, he hums softly ignoring the sulky grumbles coming from the older’s mouth. He can deal with Harua’s attitude later.
