Slip Ups - Hallingham

Summary:

In which Jude forgets to take his heat suppressants, and Erling definitely notices.

ABO!

Notes:

Yet another Hallingham (Haaland x Bellingham) shortfic. I hope ya'll enjoy. It's kind of my first smut AND my first ABO, so I apologize for any mistakes.

I did cook this up instead of sleeping. Send help.

Work Text:

The defeat against England hadn’t been something easy to swallow for Erling. Especially when he could’ve done more if only the ball had come to him. If only his team had trusted him and passed it when it mattered the most.

It left a bitter taste in his mouth, having a flight booked to go back to Norway. He wanted to play more. His country had believed in him.

He pushed the door back to the dressing room, running a hand through his hair, which was damp from the shower. His teammates didn’t push it when he wandered off to be alone after the game, so Erling assumed he was alone there.

The scent hit him before he was fully inside.

“Hey.”

Jude sat on a bench in the corner of the room. His head rested against the wall, and his face was one of someone who was also caught by surprise by seeing someone else there.

“Hey,” Erling said back.

He didn’t know if it was because there were only the two there, but the other man’s scent felt stronger than usual. He lingered awkwardly by the door—not because it had been Jude the one to score both goals and eliminate his team, but because the other man very clearly wanted to be alone, too.

“Uh, congrats on the goals. They were impressive.”

A humored huff escaped Jude’s lips.

“You don’t need to be so stiff around me, y’know. I won’t bite.”

That phrase made at least some of the tension bleed off from Erling’s shoulders.

“Yeah, I know.” His fingers tugged at the ends of his hair. “Sorry, I’m just… still trying to process everything.”

Jude didn’t say anything else. He just looked. He knew how important the World Cup was for Erling—it was just as relevant to him. But England had left off better this afternoon. It was great to play with his friend again, even if they were on opposite teams.

He shifted his position, sitting more comfortably on the bench. He didn’t move closer, though; the creeping discomfort in the base of his stomach hadn’t given way to a much needed relief in hours. He had a feeling he knew what it was. It was better not to get too close to anyone right now.

The silence between them was somewhat charged. Erling looked away for a moment, biting the inside of his cheek, wondering whether to speak up about what bothered him or not. His fingers drummed on the side of his pants.

“Uh, not to be blunt but…” Shit, that was awkward. His gaze went up, meeting Jude’s again. “Can I ask you something?”

“Yeah, go ahead.”

This wasn’t really a problem to talk about; they were friends. It was just a curious question. Nothing else.

“Are you in heat or something? I swear I could smell you across the field.”

Jude’s expression shifted briefly, eyes wandering off.

“Oh shit, is it that bad?”

His hand reached up to his neck, covering its side. He had been feeling like he was smelling more than usual, but he’d brushed it off since everyone was running around and sweating. The discomfort made sense now, as much as Jude had been praying not to be it.

“Well, kind of.” Erling said, then shrugged in an attempt to make things casual again. “It could be because I’m used to your scent, though.”

Jude leaned his head back against the wall, squeezing his eyes shut. He silently cursed himself, and pressed his knuckles against his eyelids. Erling was being kind. Of fucking course Jude had to be lucky enough to be entering heat while he was alone with an alpha.

“I should probably get back to my room and take my suppressants." He proposed. Why was it that Erling’s presence was way too noticeable now? “I’m only on scent blockers. Shouldn’t have played this game like this.”

“Yeah,” the other man agreed, then paused, eyes going back to his friend. “Wait, you haven’t been taking them?”

It wasn’t like this was a recent problem. Even when they were still in Borussia Dortmund he tended to forget it—and get in trouble because of it. Soccer was full of alphas, after all.

“I have. But, y’know.”

“You should probably go, then.”

“Yeah.”

Neither moved for a moment. Erling’s gaze lingered on Jude before he turned away to grab a towel, even if his hair was now half-dry. He just needed something to occupy his hands, something to focus on instead of the scent of the omega, which got progressively stronger.

Jude took a breath, silently cursing out his poor memory again, before he got up, walking over to the door. He reached it, but he paused outside when he heard his name being called.

“Jude. Wait, I’m going with you.”

The omega ignore the way his heart picked up with the phrase. Shut it, Jude.

“Don’t worry about it. I’ll go by myself.”

But Erling was already close again, his hand resting over the dark-haired man’s shoulder to guide him back to the hotel, which Norway shared with England.

“It’s fine. There’s some players I don’t know around here.”

Jude didn’t protest—he was mostly focused on keeping his breath as steady as he could, as he attempted to take his mind off how erling’s hand on his shoulder felt way better than it should.

Of course it would. His body had to be stupid like that with his damn best friend.

The proximity absolutely didn’t help the heat rising on his neck, or the needy tug in his chest; much less the discomfort in his pants.

They were halfway through when Erling’s hand tightened, calling for Jude’s attention.

“You okay?”

Those blue eyes were back on him. The omega hadn’t realised he was making a face. It was getting harder to focus, the sound of his desperate heart threatening to muffle every other sound.

“Yeah. Yeah, it's just… It hurts.’

Erling didn’t answer immediately. Jude didn’t look at his face to gauge his reaction. It would only make things worse. Instead, he settled for twisting the hem of his shirt with his fingers.

“... It hurts?” The other man finally spoke. It wasn’t mocking; he sounded genuinely surprised.

It almost made Jude want to laugh. Almost.

“Yeah. I mean, when I have to ignore it…”

They took a turn, and the security guard’s eyes darted over Bellingham’s state and Erling’s presence. She didn’t stop them, arms crossed in front of her chest.

Jude barely registered it; barely even noticed he’d trailed off.

“Uh, it’s not the same with a beta,” he concluded, squeezing his eyes shut again to attempt to force a bit of clearance in his mind, in vain.

Not as it would be with an alpha, he added mentally, but didn’t dare voice it. His girlfriend, Ashlyn, was a beta. But of course Erling wouldn’t think about the difference since his wife was an omega. Yes, his wife. He had a wife. Focus, Jude.

“... Right,” Erling said.

A couple of minutes passed. The omega didn’t remember when he decided to support his weight on Haaland, but he didn’t care. He could see the door to his room already.

A pang of relief, followed by another insistent, sharp discomfort on the base of his stomach, hit him as his hand wrapped around the cold doorknob. His grip was tighter than needed.

“Thanks,” Jude muttered. He sounded way too breathless, but at least he was inside.

“Don’t mention it.”

Jude avoided looking up. Avoided staring directly at his friend, the source of the strong scent that made it hard to close the door.

“You sure you don’t want me to…”

“I’m fine,” the omega cut him off.

“Really? You’re burning up…”

He could barely hear Erling over the sound of his frantic heart.

“Yes. Thanks again.”

Erling seemed to hesitate. But, eventually, he nodded back.

“Yeah. Goodnight.”

Jude didn’t say it back before slamming the door closed.

He let out a breath, feeling the way his body was heating up, the unsteadiness of his breath, the lingering scent of his best friend. It was such a shitty time to be an omega. He pressed his forehead against the cold door, another exhale escaping him in a whimper.

Shit, he couldn’t think straight. He needed somewhere. A comfortable place. Somewhere his.

With trembling legs, he made his way to his bed.

The pillows were clumsily arranged in a semi circle-like shape, the blanket covering them. Jude curled up in it, nails biting into his biceps. It was a futile distraction against the growing heat and the churning feeling inside of him.

Fuck, he needed to be touched. Even the slightest brush of his pants against his member was enough to make another whimper escape his lips. The next few, torturous minutes were spent like that, and he knew that the rest of the night wouldn’t be easier.

The door swung shut. The omega hadn’t even noticed it being open again. He raised his head, and the sight of the man standing in front of it was enough to briefly take Jude out of that tangle of sensations—then slam him back in it, worse, when the alpha’s scent hit him all over again.

“Erling?” He didn’t mean for his breath to hitch that way. It just did.

The blonde man looked at the omega, taking in the makeshift nest and, most of all, how Jude’s smell had gotten stronger.

“Sorry,” he blurted out, heart skipping a beat at how wrecked his best friend looked. “There were people from your team coming. I should…”

Too strong. That sweet mix he knew so well flooded his senses, igniting something deep within Erling. Jude was laying there, panting, in so much need, so ready to be touched.

“I should…”

“Erling.”

Fuck. That low tone, half-moaned, sounded more like a plea than a warning. Erling found himself climbing on the bed and, before he could think better of it, buried his nose in Jude’s neck, inhaling more of that sweet, ridiculously vicious smell.

Jude felt the alpha loom over him, his nose brushing over his scent glands, and his last strand of restraint snapped. In a second, his hands grabbed at Erling’s shirt, pulling him closer, breath shuddering.

“Fuck, Erling. Please. Please,” he urged.

The discomfort in the base of his stomach was unbearable. Every touch, every brush of fabric and skin on Jude made the omega even more sensitive. He needed that knot. Goodness, he’d die without it. His hips bucked up, searching for that delicious friction as the other man assaulted his neck.

Erling groaned at the sound of Bellingham’s pleas, his tongue running over the other man’s skin, tasting him. He could feel his mind slipping with every hint of contact from Jude’s hips against his. The omega’s lips found Erling’s in a hungry, clumsy kiss that was all teeth and tongue.

His hands were everywhere. On Jude’s waist, on his thighs, taking off those senseless layers of fabric. The omega was still under him, still smelling like the sweetest thing Haaland knew. His fingers brushed Jude’s nipples—too sensitive already. It earned him another whimper.

“Erling, please. Fuck, please, it hurts.”

That breathless tone did things to the alpha.

Jude watched as Erling pulled away enough to throw away his shirt, discarding it somewhere on the ground, along with the omega’s clothes. The sight served only to worsen Jude’s state. Seeing that hot alpha peeling off his clothes, and still not having his length inside of him was torturous.

Erling.”

“Fuck, hold on,” the blonde man groaned, tossing away his boxers.

His desperation didn’t give him much time to admire the omega’s naked form before his hand found his shoulder.

“Turn.”

Jude didn’t need any more words to obey, flipping over to lay on his stomach, hips raised, vulnerable to Erling’s mercy.

The alpha exhaled, watching the way the other man’s dark skin glistened with sweat, the tight hole he’d be inside in no time. His hand found the omega’s hip, thumb tracing the curve of his ass. The other one trailed up his thigh, too impatient to have a light touch.

“Fuck, Jude,” he managed to say. He’d never been more thankful for the omega’s holes to be self-lubricating.

He pried one finger in, making small circles until he could press it deeper. The omega’s breath stuttered, his hand curling into a first against the mattress. It was only one finger but, as sensitive as he was, it was enough to send a wave of pleasure through his body.

Erling worked Jude open, curling the finger, then pressing another in. The other man took it, exhaling into his pillow, the anticipation building inside of him. His walls clenched around the alpha’s fingers, eager to take more in.

He wasn’t satisfied. He needed that knot, needed Erling’s cock inside of him.

The alpha didn’t take long with the preparations. Even if Jude’s hole still needed more stretching, he couldn’t hold back much more. His length was fully hard, his hands trembling with restraint.

He slid off his fingers from Jude, spreading the natural omega’s lubrication over his cock. He struck it a couple of times, the heat too strong to hold back from it, before he lined it with Jude’s hole.

“Tell me if it hurts, yeah?” He panted.

The omega felt Erling's tip prying into his ass, a moan escaping his lips from the stretching sensation. It hurt, yes, but the pleasure overrode it by much. He could barely wait until it was filling him up.

Fuck, oh my god.” Jude’s fingers curled on the sheets as Erling pulled off and inserted himself again, this time a bit deeper. “Yes. Yes, fuck, keep going.”

He needed that cock. Goodness, he needed it so bad it made him dizzy. He wanted to be dominated by that alpha, to have his knot inside of him.

The other man wasn’t gentle. He intended to be, but it was so fucking hard not to lose his mind over the noises Jude let out, over how tight he was around him. He didn’t know if he was the first alpha to get inside of him like that, but, right now, he didn’t care. He wanted to go deeper, to fuck that needy omega stupid.

It took two more retreats until Jude took him fully, and fuck, his hole was absurdly good. Jude clenched around Earling’s cock, sending waves of pleasure through the alpha. It was almost like it was eager to take him back every time he pulled off, and Jude was taking it so well.

The omega felt so damn full. If he thought the tip was already good, it didn’t compare to the feeling or Erling’s whole cock inside of him. His eyes were squeezed shut, his senses focused on the way the alpha’s cock stretched him open with every movement. One particular angle made Erling’s length brush against a spot just right, making a more high-pitched moan slip from his lips.

Fuck. Yes, there, Erling. Right there.”

Erling’s breath came out in heavy, short bursts. His fingers dug into Jude’s hip at the way he moaned out his name—so needy, so desperate for him. His inner alpha roared to breed that omega, to knot him.

His movements grew faster, each time slamming his cock into Jude harder as the omega whimpered with his face buried against the pillow, the fabric muffling the noise as best as it could.

The pressure built until it became unbearable. Erling’s strides turned sloppier, his breath unsteady as his cock ached inside of the omega. Jude’s length dripped precum on the sheets, making him whimper harder as his member brushed against the fabric, giving him the lightest of frictions. His hips moved, too, meeting Erling’s strides halfway, desperate. Their scent was everywhere, intoxicating each other’s senses.

“Fuck, yes,” the omega huffed out, voice strained. He could feel the alpha’s cock moving inside of him, stretching him open so good. “Knot me, Erling, Fuck, fill me up.”

The word was like a wake up call for the blonde man. Knot. He should pull out. He couldn't knot Jude. He couldn’t because…

Because he had a wife.

The memory worked wonders to clear up his mind.

Erling’s breath hitched as he stopped mid-stride, eyes widening in the dim light of the room.

What the fuck was he doing?

His heart dropped, gaze darting down to where his cock was half-inside of his best friend. Jude’s chest shrunk and expanded with every ragged breath, his ass still clenching around Erling. The dark haired man’s hand reached behind him, finding the one that still rested on his hips.

“Fuck, why’d you stop?”

The sweat glistening on his dark skin. The gaze clouded with arousal. There was no question about what was happening there.

Erling pulled out without a second more of hesitation, hand falling from Jude’s ass. His heart hammered in his chest, but it wasn’t only because of the physical effort.

“Erling?” Jude called out again, voice hoarse.

The omega pushed himself to lay on his back again, dark eyes still hazy, but pleading. He hadn’t gotten enough. He needed that knot. He felt so empty without that cock inside of him.

Erling’s breath matched Jude’s frantic one, but he didn’t move toward the other man. He was still hard, cock aching, but he pushed himself away from his friend. The omega’s scent still lingered everywhere, threatening to make the blonde man slip again.

“Jude,” Erling finally spoke. His tone was firmer than he felt. “Jude, you’re in heat.”

Bellingham whimpered, spreading his legs. It was a damn view for an alpha trying to resist an omega.

“Come on, Erling, please. I need you.”

Erling forced his gaze away, swallowing thickly. He could feel his skin clammy with sweat, the way his cock twitched, seeking the pleasure again. He pushed himself off the bed, feet hitting the cold boards of the ground.

“Jude, you’re not thinking straight.”

Jude’s eyebrows furrowed, those dark eyes still pleading. One hand reached for his own cock, gripping at its base and stroking it. He exhaled shakily.

“Please, Erli. I need your cock. It hurts. Please. Please, I…”

“Jude, I have a wife,” Erling interrupted the omega in the gentlest way possible. Trying not to lose his concentration was a torture. “And you have a girlfriend.”

“I.. It’s just a knot. Please, Erling. You were here just now. Please, I need you to fill me up.”

The image was tempting. Haaland was so hard it hurt, and the feeling of coming inside Jude, of filling that omega up to the brink with his sperm, only sent another wave of arousal through him.

The blonde man forced himself to take another deep breath—which was a terrible idea, since the scent of sex and Jude only made everything ten times harder—and crouched down to get his clothes.

“Look, I’ll… I’ll go back to my room, okay?” He slid on his pants, and kept his eyes on the ground to find his shirt. “We can talk tomorrow, when you’re thinking more clearly.”

Jude shifted to sit up, watching as Erling tried to put himself together enough to walk away. His heart picked up even more, desperation clawing at his chest. He couldn’t go away. Jude still needed that knot. He hadn’t even come yet.

He followed the other man off the bed, grabbing his wrist when the alpha turned to leave.

“Erli, please,” he whimpered. His hand slid up Erling’s arm until it cupped his jaw. He stepped closer until his length brushed erling’s erection through his pants. “Look at me, please. Don’t go. I need you. I still need you, please.”

It was a mistake to look Jude in the eyes. He turned his head to the side, gently pulling away from his friend with all the willpower he had.

“I can’t. I’m sorry. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Leaving that room was one of the hardest things Erling Haaland did that night. But it wasn’t only the memory of Jude’s body and pleas that would haunt him from now on—it was what he had done to his wife.
