Chapter Text
‘… woken up a while ago..’
‘Are you sure he will wake up? You have been saying that for weeks now.’
Harry Potter could hear the voices of people he recognized. Sirius Black, his Godfather was talking to Madam Pomfrey.
Two voices he thought he would never hear again, now speaking loud and clear in front of him.
‘He should wake up very soon Sirius, i promise.’
Harry slowly opened his eyes and was met with the harsh overhead lights of the hospital wing. Scrunching his eyes to block the light he lifts his hand up to rub his eyes.
Sirius turns around at this, making his way over to Harry and hugging him before he had a say in what was going on.
‘Oh Harry..’ sirius said softly as he cradled Harry in his arms, tears pricking at his eyes.
‘We were all so worried for you.’ He breathed out heavily, forcing himself not to bust out into tears right then and there.
‘I’m sorry.’
Was all Harry could mutter out in response, his mouth was hoarse and dry after it being so long of being unused, he had to force his tongue to unstick from the roof of his mouth.
Harry raised his arms to wrap around his Godfather, looking down he could see his left arm was bandaged up, covering majority of his forearm and hand.
‘I’m so glad you are okay pup.’
Sirius had let go of the hug now and was holding Harry’s face in his hands.
‘I apologies Sirius but i will need to speak to Harry, check over him now and give him the potions i couldn’t when he was asleep.’
Sirius just nodded and moved off away from Harry, sitting back down in a chair next to his hospital bed.
‘Now, Harry dear i’ll just need to do a diagnostic charm over you again now that you are awake.’
‘Mhm.’ Harry nodded, he had forgotten all about what he had attempted over a year ago.
Madam Pomfrey stepped back and started moving her wand in various ways as she casted the diagnostic charm over harry, the warm, soft prickling sensation reminding him of just where he was again.
‘Dear me.’
She muttered to herself as she read the list that materialized from the spell, walking off to get the right potions for Harry.
‘Harry. Are you okay?’
Sirius was still watching him, a look of regret and worry in his face as he spoke softly towards Harry, almost afraid he would startle him.
Harry cleared his throat as he looked back at Sirius, ‘what, oh uh. Yeah. I’m fine Sirius.’
He muttered, looking down at the blank white sheets he was sitting in. Fidgeting with the frayed hems of the blankets
‘Harry. We were so worried about you, you know? You gave us all such a scare when we read those letters..’
He trailed off and Harry winced at the mention of the stupid letters he wrote back in December.
‘I’m sorry Sirius..’
He apologised again.
‘No i’m sorry Harry, i should’ve been there for you but i wasn’t.’
He goes to apologize again but as he looked back up towards sirius he fought against it as he seen the protest in his face.
‘Its april right now, school has been canceled for two weeks because of easter. Everyone will be back though fairly soon.’
Harry hums as he listened, until it clicked, it had been only 4 months for everyone here when in Harrys head it had been a year. He had grown a year mentally but not physically.
‘What day is it Sirius?’
‘Wednesday, April 17th.’
Harry nodded as he mentally notes it down.
‘I’m hungry.’
He mutters and he hears a soft laugh come from Sirius.
‘I wonder why. But i’m sure Madam Pomfrey should let you eat soon kid.’
At that, she comes bustling over with two potions in hand.
‘Here, this one is for-‘
Harry drowns her out with his thoughts as he mindlessly nodded and accepted the potion.
His sense of time and belonging had shifted so much, he was just back in the room of requirement with a shocking gathering of people consisting of Abraxas Malfoy, Orion Black and most shockingly, the Tom Riddle.
And now? He was sat in a hospital cot down on the first floor rather than the seventh.
‘- and i will be giving Sirius the potions you will be needing to have for the next few weeks every four hours. Right now drink those two and i’ll go get you something to eat dear’
She gave harry a soft pat on his shoulder as she left to presumably call up a house elf to deliver food up to the ward.
Harry uncaps one of the vials and down the potion in one swig, wanting to avoid the nasty taste before and after, doing the same thing he grimaces as he finishes both potions, leaving the empty vials on the side table.
‘Dumbledore and your friends will want to see you soon Harry, Ron and Hermione have been worried sick over you.’
He hummed again and nodded.
‘I don’t want to speak to Dumbledore just yet. Same with Ron and Hermione. I just want to rest a little longer.’
Sirius nodded ‘that’s understandable Harry but you will need to speak to them soon, i’ll go and tell everyone you are alright but just resting for now,’
He stands up, ruffling Harrys hair as he steps away from the chair he was in and leaving behind the curtains.

After some lovely food, harry lies back down to hopefully get some more rest before having to speak with His friends and Dumbledore.
Would Dumbledore remember him?
Would the library books he rented out back in 1944 still have his alter name inside?
Did any older professors remember Harrison Peters?
Or did everything that he worked for in the past only exist as a mere fragment of his imagination.
All these thoughts swirled around inside his head as he slowly drifted off back to sleep again.
