Chapter 1: Winter Break

Chapter Text

Winter Break - December 23rd

Shane

“Fuck Shane,” Ilya groaned as he felt the wet mouth encapsulate his aching cock.

A small noise of contentment came from Shane, enjoying that he was making Ilya happy. Enjoying that this was also making him happy. The happiest he’d been in a really long time it seemed. No expectations and no strings. Nothing keeping him grounded in the situation. It was just nice to feel wanted and to make someone feel good. Now, that person happening to be Ilya Rozanov was a completely different story.

Shane’s phone rang, they both stopped, and looked at each other.

Ilya looked at Shane, then looked at the phone that was relentlessly buzzing, and then back to Shane. Giving him the look of are you going to pick it it up?

They both knew who it was. It was Jesse. Shane’s boyfriend. His wonderful boyfriend of a year had no idea his boyfriend was messing around with his roommate. His supposedly straight roommate that he didn’t get along with. And now he was calling as Shane was actively on his knees, Ilya’s fingers threaded through his hair, and giving one of the best blow jobs of his life. To make it worse, it was a video call.

It was winter break and he had gone back to Boston to see his family and Shane had opted to stay. Claiming his parents were going to come from Ottawa to see him on campus and that Ilya was leaving to go to Russia for a few weeks. They had covered their bases, or so they thought. Not realizing what day it was, December 23rd, he had quite literally been so wrapped up in Ilya and the bubble that they created he forgot what day it was. Jesse’s birthday. His 21st birthday. He was the worst boyfriend ever.

“Fuck, fuck fuck, okay.” Shane pulled off and stood up, fixing his hair, and tugging his shirt back on. Ilya stood looking at him, pants still down and body pressed against the kitchen counter with a stupored look on his face. Shane held up one finger and then scurried off into his bedroom.

Ilya

Ilya could hear him answer the phone, Hello, you look handsome, Shane had said to his boyfriend. Similar words had just been used for Ilya stroking his thumb across Shane’s cheek as he sucked him with heat and passion, getting Ilya right to the edge of coming. And now he had blue balls, standing in his own kitchen, of his off campus apartment, of which he shared with Shane Hollander. Who was now on the phone with his stupid boyfriend

He quickly finished himself off, stroking himself and releasing into a paper towel. It wasn’t what he wanted by any means, but he could hear Shane rambling on about how he was sorry he missed his birthday and blah, blah, blah. He could care less. He never liked Jesse anyway. Svetlana didn’t like him either and neither did Rose. Come to think of it, no one seemed to like him, except Shane. There was something weird about him.

Ilya busied himself with making some coffee, not that he really needed it, he was riding the high of knowing he was fucking the face of someone else’s boyfriend. And that someone just happened to be his roommate, which made it even more seductive to him. The coffee maker whirred and dripped, letting a hot steam come out as it dripped the brown liquid into the pot. He looked at it studiously without actually paying attention. Really just trying to listen in to Shane’s conversation and trying to hear when it would be done. When Shane could return to the bubble they’d created.

Eventually he came out, his lips a little puffy and his hair still kind of a mess. It was endearing.

Shane sighed, “That was fucking crazy. We almost got caught. He asked me if I was sleeping. And if I had been crying. If I felt bad I was missing his birthday in person.”

“Well, you were crying,” Ilya let out a small laugh to himself as he poured a cup of coffee. He offered the cup to Shane of which Shane politely declined. Ilya shrugged.

“Shut up. You know what I mean.” Shane rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, leaning back against the counter across from Ilya. “We can’t keep doing this Lily.”

“Mmm… Yes. He still thinks you are best friends with Lily and have been spending all your time with her.” Ilya laughed to himself, not as discretely this time, and blew the hot steam off of the coffee, checking to see if it had cooled enough yet for him to drink. Of course it hadn’t and he set it down on the counter. Then walked over to Shane and wrapped his arms around his waist, pulling him in close. “And what did you tell him about Lily this time? Did you say you’re spending some of your break with her?”

“Fuck off, asshole.” Shane pulled Ilya in closer, pressing himself against him.

“Oh, you are being clingy now, after getting off of phone with Jesse? I thought you two were so into each other, is that not what you said to him before he left?” Ilya was trying to get a rise out of Shane and he knew it would work.

Shane shoved him back lightly, playfully, “Fuck off, you know I like him.”

“Yes, and you like being on your knees for me more. What is your point?”

“He wants to take things… slow. I don’t know. He’s just turning 21 today.” Shane’s cheeks flushed pink and he looked away, now finding sudden keen interest in the coffee mug on the counter.

The one that read, Montreal’s Favorite. It was a stupid mug that had the incorrect spelling on it and didn’t make any sense according to Shane. He had said, How could it be Montreal’s Favourite, if they didn’t even use the correct spelling of favourite? It pissed Shane off to no end, but they had gone to a diner one time and saw it and Ilya had to have it. It was shortly after Ilya and Shane had become roommates. He had wanted something to commemorate the first time they had actually had a meal together and did something as friends. No one would believe it, but Ilya was sentimental and objects held a lot of value to him when they represented something.

“Yes, but slow is him dry humping you on a Thursday on our couch and then coming in his pants as soon as he sees me walking through the door. Then quickly shuffling out of our apartment with his face as red as a tomato.” Ilya raised a brow at Shane, waiting for an argument.

Instead, Shane let out a sigh and rubbed the back of his neck.

“Do you have to keep bringing that up? It was embarrassing.”

“Shane, your shirt was still on. So was his. It was like I was walking into a scene of high school freshmen trying to understand what sex is and failing at it.”  Ilya picked up the coffee mug a second time, blew on it, then decided to risk the drink. It had settled and was a manageable temperature.

“I said it was embarrassing, okay?” Shane huffed.

“Yes, it was.” Ilya mused. He didn’t know what he was trying to prove with this argument, but he felt like he was winning. Maybe it was to prove that Jesse was shitty and not what Shane was looking for, considering he just had Shane in a questionable position 30 minutes ago.

Shane groaned and Ilya looked at him, taking one last swig of the coffee and setting it down. Shane hadn’t finished earlier or even had time to, he had to answer the phone for Jesse

Ilya backed him up against the counter again, sliding his hands into Shane’s sweats, and leading them down, exposing his still rigid cock. Neither of them said anything, Ilya spit in his hand, and then started stroking Shane. His other hand supported him against the counter and kissed Shane’s neck. He felt him lean into it and chase the feeling. They had tried to make it a rule that they couldn’t kiss on the mouth, but it had been quickly broken the first time they’d hooked up. Both of them had tried to claim it made it too personal.

Finally he felt Shane release in his hand, giving him a quick peck, and then going over and washing his hands. Shane wiped himself off with a cloth and then pulled his pants back up, looking blissed out, but also moderately concerned. He was staring at Ilya.

“What Hollander? Have you seen ghost?” Ilya dried off his hands with a dish towel that was hanging from the oven handle.

“Do I have to break up with him?” Shane asked, looking at the floor. It seemed like he already knew the answer, but didn’t want to come to terms with it.

“I mean, yes, probably. Unless you want to keep doing…” Ilya gestured between them, “this. Which I do not mind, is hot. And easy. I just go down the hall instead of having to find somewhere else to be and also I know that you are clean because of the virgin you are dating. Unless you are managing to find time to hang out with someone else that isn’t me or him.”

Shane shot him a glare and Ilya smirked. Exactly. He knew it was just him. Shane wouldn’t go out of his way to find someone else, not when he had a perfectly good Ilya at home to give him everything he needed, wanted, and more. One that wouldn’t just give him a quick time on the couch and run off.
