"Have you never felt love before?"
"No," replied Elide "I've never experienced that sort of... attraction."
"Why not?"
"I've never had the chance. Also, I don't think I ever will."
Lorcan seemed to consider her words, swishing them around in his head. "I don't think I've ever... felt love either. I've had lovers, of course. But I never felt anything other than, well..." Elide stared at Lorcan, this six hundred years old warrior, and could have sworn he blushed. Just faintly. She felt her lips tug into a smile, and Lorcan bared his fangs at her. She just grinned at him, amused at his girlish prudishness. Lorcan sighed and turned his back to her, but she had seen understanding in his eyes that she had never dreamed she'd find, and she felt a little less lost in the world. And she bet that he felt a little less lost too.
