“Lucas never broken a rule in his life,” Young was saying, a smirk playing on his lips as the other rookies laughed.

Luca looked up from his phone at that, finally zoning back into the conversation. “Not true!” He argued.

“When have you ever? You’re like, Roz and Hollzy’s golden child. Can do no wrong.”

Luca blushed to the tips of his ears. “That’s literally not true, Nicky,” he scowled.

The others laughed, eyes flicking between the two to see how it would end.

“Prove it then,” Nicky said, eyes glinting. “You haven’t smoked in, like, months ‘cause Hollzy forbid it. Everyone knows Roz still has a hidden pack in his glove box though, or at least we do but Hollzy doesn’t. I dare you to take one and smoke it.”

Luca’s tummy felt heavy and twisty as he stared back at his friend. “Fine,” he ground out, squaring his shoulders. “I will.”

That proved only slightly harder done than said. Luca had to wait for a moment where he could access the car, alone, and without getting caught. It took a few days for the perfect time to arise, but Luca took it when it did. Shane and Ilya were at Shane’s parents, Luca denied going so that he could catch up on some rest. They took Shane’s car, naturally, which left Ilya’s Ferrari completely unattended.

The keys were hanging on the hook like normal so it wasn’t all that difficult to get inside and fish the pack from the glove box. Luca’s heart hammered with nerves as he opened the pack with shaky fingers and pulled out a single cigarette and the lighter. He quickly replaced the rest and locked the car back before moving to the backyard.

He lit it and took a drag before FaceTiming Young, grinning proudly as the cigarette dangled between his teeth.

“Told you!” He chirped.

“Yo,” Nick laughed, “I didn’t think you had it in ya!”

Luca took another drag before going to reply but was cut off rather promptly by Anya’s barking. Which was odd because Anya really only barked when someone arrived— oh.

Quickly, Luca hung up and attempted to stub out the cigarette before abandoning it on the ground. He barely made it to the living room before Shane crossed the threshold, Anya nipping at his heels.

“Hey baby, you didn’t lay down?” Shane asked, slightly surprised to see him awake.

Luca shook his head, dizzy with the fear over almost being caught. “N-no.” He swore internally for stuttering.

“Are you okay?” Shane asked, moving closer to press a hand to his forehead.

“Yes,” Luca twisted away, terrified he could smell the cigarette smoke. “I’m not little.”

Shane stared at him, eyes crinkled in thought. “Okay,” he said slowly.

Anya chose that moment to scratch at the back door. Thank god, Luca thought, as Shane moved to let her outside. Except she made it down into the grass and then stopped, sniffing and nipping at something.

“Anya, stop it,” Shane called to her, annoyed. “Don’t eat anymore bugs!”

Luca swallowed hard before moving to slowly back away. Unfortunately, he had forgotten about Ilya and ran right into him.

“Malysh,” he said. “What are you doing?”

Shane stepped back through the backdoor looking furious, something clutched between two fingers. Luca wanted to run. Oh god he needed to run.

“Ilya,” he said, sounding scary. “What is this?”

Wait what? Luca’s heart felt like it would beat out of his chest.

Ilya squinted, looking confused. “What?”

“Why was there a cigarette in our backyard?”

The room was silent for a few seconds. Luca wanted the floor to open up and swallow him.

“That is not mine,” Ilya said, finally. Luca could feel the eyes burning into him even as he studied the carpet.

“Luca?” A hand caught his chin and tipped it up to meet Ilya’s gaze. “Do you need to tell us something?”

“No,” Luca shook his head. “No, I’m okay.”

He risked a peek at Shane. Big mistake. His eyes were narrowed and smoldering.

“Why,” Shane grit out, forcing himself to stay semi calm. “Would you smoke a cigarette?”

“Um,” Luca hesitated. “I didn’t?”

Shane closed his eyes for a second before he opened them again. “Go to the corner.”

“What? No! I’m not little,” Luca argued.

A hard swat landing on his ass cut off any further arguments. “Ow!”

“Go to corner. Now,” Ilya pointed, landing a second one.

Okay, okay, geez. Luca practically ran to it.

Shane jerked his head towards the kitchen and Ilya followed, his own stomach sinking a little.

“Where the fuck did he get this?” Shane hissed, shaking it in Ilya’s face.

“I do not know! You think I would give the baby a cigarette?” Ilya scoffed, incredulous.

“No, but he must’ve found this here. And I wonder who it belonged to originally!”

Ilya exhaled. “Okay. Okay, yes, I keep emergency pack in the Ferrari. But, Shane! I didn’t even know he knew!”

“Unbelievable,” Shane sighed, spinning away.

“I am sorry,” Ilya pleaded, hooking his chin over Shane’s shoulder. “Moya lyubov…”

“I need to spank him. But you know, this has all of the rookies written all over it,” Shane mused, tipping his head so Ilya could kiss his jaw.

“Ah, yes. Because daddy’s baby could never be so naughty on his own,” Ilya teased.

“He doesn’t break rules like this without someone in his ear encouraging him and you know it.” Shane nudged his husband away from him. “I need to deal with our naughty baby.”

“Luca, come here,” Shane called as he stepped back into the living room and sat on the couch.

Luca turned slowly, eyes red rimmed with a wobbling lip. He didn’t move forward, though.

Shane arched an eyebrow. “Come here, baby.”

Luca whined, toe scuffing the carpet. “Daddy, I didn’t even smoke it.”

“Lying isn’t helping your case, Luca. I suggest you come here before daddy has to come get you.”

A few tears spilled over and Luca stomped his foot, “No! It’s not fair to sp’nk me!”

Shane stood, crossing the room in three strides. He caught Luca around the bicep and hauled him over to the couch, standing him between his legs as he resumed position.

“I’m not sure what’s gotten into you,” he started as he worked on pulling the younger boys pants down. “But smoking and lying about it is incredibly naughty.”

Shane didn’t wait for a reply, just tipped his naked baby over his lap and started spanking. Luca remained furious though, kicking and screeching about the unfairness.

“No it’s not fair daddy! I only even did it like two times! And it’s all Nicky’s fault anyways!”

Shamed paused. That was easier than he thought. He resumed again, aiming for his sit spots this time.

“Oh? What did Nicky do?” Shane asked.

Luca whined. He didn’t mean to say that. Maybe staying quiet would be better.

“Answer me,” Shane said, landing a particularly sting-y smack. “Or I can have Papa go get the hairbrush?”

“No!” Luca yelped, jerking upright. “Um, no daddy! No brush! Nicky said, Nicky, um…”

He trailed off. It didn’t sound as good of a reason now that he was being spanked.

“I’m waiting.” Daddy angled his butt a little higher.

“Okay!” Luca shrieked. “Nicky said I’m too good and I never break a rule or get in trouble! And they were laughing! I said not true but they didn’t even listen! So…. So, ow!! Nicky said I could prove it.” Luca hung his head, cheeks burning the same color as his bottom. That didn’t sound very good out loud at all.

Daddy didn’t reply right away, just kept spanking for what felt like forever before he sat Luca up. He let him hide in his chest for a minute to catch his breath, waiting until Luca wasn’t sobbing so loud to talk.

“Do you think it was worth it to prove Nicky wrong and get a spanking? Would you rather get spankings all the time?” Shane asked. “Because that’s what happens when you break the rules.”

“No! No.. Sorry, daddy. Won’t do it ‘gain,” Luca whimpered, rubbing his snotty nose against Shane’s shirt.

“Good boy,” Shane soothed, rubbing one hand gently over the baby’s bottom. “I believe you that won’t do that again. It’s not good for you.”

“And Nicky will be getting his punishment as well. I am assuming Lapointe and Holmberg were in on this too?” Ilya asked as moved to take Luca from Shane.

Luca nipped his lip, eyes downcast. “Maybe, Papa.”

Practice the next day was not going to be much fun at all, Luca decided. And it wasn’t. Not even a teeny bit.

Papa intercepted the rookies the second they walked into the locker room, much to Lucas embarrassment.

“Ah, all the troublemakers are here now. Good,” Ilya commented.

The three rookies froze. Eyes slide to Luca and then back to Roz quickly.

“What?” Young asked, laughing nervously.

“Save it, we caught Luca yesterday and we know exactly what happened,” Shane pointed a finger at them, eyes narrowed. “Completely unacceptable.”

Ilya settled against the bench, crooking a finger at Young. “Come.”

The rookies eyes went wide. “What? Ah, Roz… No, that’s..”

“I said come,” Ilya repeated, voice deepening.

Nicky practically teleported over. “Okay, okay!”

“You will get the same as Luca, and then bag skates. Not one complaint,” he said, pulling the boy over his lap. Nicky squirmed.

He spanked fast, and hard, Nicky whimpering throughout. “Please, Roz, I…”

“You what? What is your excuse?”

Nicky snapped his mouth shut after that. Ilya painted his bottom a deep red before standing him up. “Get dressed, bag skates. All four of you.”

“You are lucky I am not spanking you,” he pointed to Lapointe and Holmberg. “Only because you did not join the teasing of Luca. Laughing is still not okay. Bag skates. Hurry up.”

Later, in bed, Luca curled against Hollzy as he whimpered. “Owwie, daddy.”

“Poor baby,” Shane soothed, brushing a tender hand through Lucas curls.

“Never smoking ‘gain. Promise,” he slurred around his soska, eyes barely open.

“I’m glad to hear it baby,” Shane huffed a laugh.
