Chapter 1: Thinking of things to do

Chapter Text

You had allowed Mould to lay next to you.

It didn't take too long after that for you to fall asleep right next to him. It made him so happy to see you beginning to open up to his care after a bit of a rough start yesterday. He learned from the things he did wrong and you appeared… calmer. You did now.

He stared at your sleeping figure as a smile creeped on to his face. He was so close to you, it felt nice. There was some warmth coming off of your body, warmth which he hoped only his body would take in and not the sheets beneath the two of you. The nights always appeared to be longer than they were without you there walking about or talking to him, but he could wait for you to wake up again. Of course he could.

He would do it over and over again forever.

Carefully, he reached out with one of his hands and brushed away some hair falling into your face from you rolling on to your side. You were facing him now. A giddy feeling crept into him. He kept his hand on your face as his attention became drawn on to the vase sitting beautifully upon the drawers next to the bed. Roses just for you.

He let out a quiet hum. You had told him you liked the ones he had gotten for you. He'll need to get more, yes. For now, however, he wanted to stay by your side a little longer. Mould will get up later and start to make the home more comfortable for you. It still worried him, he had to admit. You had gone outside, but you came back. You didn't try to run from him.

What if this still wasn't enough? He cleaned the house, organized everything for you and cooked you meals for you. He brought the flowers to you today and yesterday he made you a drawing on the bathroom mirror when it fogged up during your shower. …Mould could do more for you. He'll do everything for you. If it makes you happy then that means you will stay with him. It has to.

He can't have you leaving him. He did everything right. All of this is for you.

He ran his hand over the rash that had formed on your wrist. His fingers brushed against it gently. It was bothering you. He'd seen you scratching at it occasionally and you were scrubbing roughly at it during your bath. He would need to make it feel better. That would make you feel better and then you'll like him even more. He blushed a little at the thought.

He closed his eyes and moved a little closer to you. Just a little. He didn't want to disturb your sleep and wake you up, nor did he want you freaking out again. He scared you sometimes, he knew. When he came up behind you, he noticed the way you would flinch the first few times. It wasn't so bad now. You had relaxed some since then. The feeling still lingered anyway.

. . .

It felt horrible once he finally got up. He only sat up, really. He didn't want to leave your side. Not now. The house had to be perfect for you, he couldn't allow for that to change. He needs you much more than he's shown. Maybe even more than you need him. He can make sure that doesn't stay that way. It'll take time, but it will change. He knows everything about you after all. You won't need the outside so much. You won't feel like you need to escape him.

You're going to stay right here with him. This is your home together with him.

"Mould will return in the morning, my honey." He whispered to you. You were fast asleep, but he still felt like he needed to say it. To reassure you. He'll make sure to keep his word so you won't wake up alone. He'll be right where he was when you fell asleep.

He gave a small squeeze of the wrist he held in his hand before laying it back down on the bed. Quietly, he laid the blanket over you as he usually did to keep you warm throughout the night and slipped out of the room. You'll be happy this coming morning too. Happier than today.

You won't have to worry about anything. Your fear of him will dissipate.

You will stay.

No matter what.
