Work Header

and if it feels good, then it can't be bad

Summary:

Was it…no, it couldn’t be. Surely not. Trinity wasn’t right. Right? That would be crazy. Right? Dennis wasn’t sure.

Only one way to find out.

or

Robby and Dennis are both yearning after each other but are convinced the other doesn't like them back. After a long shift with some confusing signals being sent, they go on a work night out and chaos ensues (thank you Trinity Santos and Jack Abbot)

Notes:

I was listening to A LOT of Ethel Cain when I started writing this, so this is very much inspired by 'Gibson Girl' (as you can tell from the title). Don't get it twisted though, this is all very safe, sane and consensual unlike the lore. Enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

The ER was no busier than usual as Robby walked through the doors of the ambulance bay. The rest of his staff were completing their handoffs with the night shift. He watched with a smirk as Shen led a murderous-looking Santos out of Central 5 with what looked like regurgitated carrot soup all over her scrubs.

He knew he should probably get to work, but just as he was about to head to the locker room and drop off his bag, he spotted Whitaker following Ellis into South 22. His hair was fluffier than usual, sticking out over his ears and making him look like a fluffy calf which wasn’t helping him escape the farm-boy image, but god was it cute. He covered a small yawn with his hand and Robby almost died at how adorable he looked.

Get it together Robinavich, time to focus on work, he told himself, shaking out of his momentary trance and marching towards the lockers.

Robby internally scolded himself for letting himself even think about Whitaker like that but then pulled himself up short. Who was he fooling, he’d been having those thoughts, and much worse, ever since he first stepped foot in Robby’s ER with his big eyes and wide smile. The naivety had left his face now, replaced by knowledge and competence, but his thirst to prove himself never left. It was his most attractive trait, according to Robby.

(Apart from his perky ass that Robby dreamed about grabbing handfuls of as he kissed his gorgeously pink lips-)

Not now. Now is the time to work and be professional. Not the time to fantasize about fucking your resident. God, what was wrong with him today?

Maybe it was the ever-present event looming in the near future. The bimonthly staff night out was tonight and to say Robby was dreading it would be an understatement. After a long shift like today will inevitably be, all he ever wants to do is to go home and lie on the couch while watching crappy reality TV and eating a microwave meal. And to make matters worse, Whitaker would definitely be there looking stunning as always and he wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.

But he had to make an appearance tonight because he had been MIA for three months riding cross country on his motorbike. Why did he have to be all spiritual and try to find himself? How inconsiderate of future Robby, forcing him into close quarters with his incredibly inappropriate work crush who was at least 20 years younger than him and also his subordinate who most definitely did not feel the same way about him.

Robby knew Whitaker was interested in men after his conversation with him about that burn victim’s wife (was her name Abby?) before his sabbatical, but there was no way someone as beautiful as Whitaker would ever be interested in an old fart like Robby. He knew that. He was ok with that.

Well, mostly.

He walked over to the desk, greeting Dana and having a quick look at the patients on the screen. Jack came over to say hello before he left, clapping his shoulders.

“What’s good, brother? It’s gonna be busy as shit today. You better still be coming out later.” Robby nodded, flashing him a quick smile.

“It’s been too long since I’ve graced the Pitt Crew with my presence after hours. Can’t wait.”

Lies

He bid him a quick farewell, heading straight for a degloving in South 15 to distract him from the filthy thoughts about Whitaker dancing under the colourful lights later tonight.

He threw himself into case after case to never let his mind wander to any…unsavoury topics. And it worked quite well. Until an ambulance arrived with a woman who had fallen 2 metres from a ladder while dusting. She was frozen in place, her head in a neck brace, and had dark bruises on her sides where she hit a table upon impact.

Robby brought her into Trauma 2 with the ambulance crew, McKay and Javadi, but after the ambulance crew left, they did not have enough hands to examine, treat and chart her previous medical history.

“McKay, give her 5 of morphine for the pain, Javadi, see who’s outside and get them in here now,” Robby said, pressing his stethoscope to her chest.

She returned moments later with Mohan, Mel, Donnie, Emma and…Whitaker. Great.

Robby busied himself with examining her neck as Whitaker squeezed between Mel and Javadi across from him.

“Looks like she displaced a disc in her spine. She can’t move her head at all,” he observed. “Emma, call neuro and get them to send someone over to see if there’s any brain damage caused. Donnie, call ortho and get someone down here to reset her spine.”

Emma had an answer first. “Neuro won’t be here for 20 minutes. Major patient backup.”

Fuck.

“More bad news,” said Donnie. “Ortho are short staffed today and they can’t get here for an hour.”

Double fuck.

“She won’t last that long, her pulse is already thready.” Fuck fuck fuck what was he going to do? He can’t lose another patient, not today.

“I could try to reset her spine,” a voice piped up from the other side of the room.

Robby looked up to see Whitaker staring at him. “I saw Langdon do it once in a situation like this before. It saved the patient’s life.”

He took a deep breath, considering. If he pulled it off, Whitaker was right, it would save the patient’s life. But if something went wrong, the consequences would be fatal. But if they waited and did nothing, the patient would surely die anyway.

“You really think you can pull this off?” he asked him.

Whitaker’s eyes bore holes into his skull, the need to prove himself evident in his gaze.

“Yes.”

Robby took one more look at the patient and nodded. “OK. What do you need us to do?”

Whitaker immediately sprung to action, ordering each person in the room to brace a different part of the patient’s body. He calmly explained what was going to happen to the patient, who looked scared but agreed nonetheless. He removed the neck brace and, while narrating his movements, began by pulling her head gently but firmly.

“A turn to the right first,” he said, slowly twisting the woman’s head to the right. The room was silent, all eyes on Whitaker. “And now, a turn to the left.”

As he twisted her head to the left, the loud pop of her vertebrae sliding back into place broke the silence. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Robby let out a shocked laugh and, against his better judgement, pulled Whitaker in for a one-armed hug and said, “Well done kid, quick thinking.” He held him there for a second too long before he realised what he had just done. He dropped his arm quickly and, making sure the patient was alright and everything was under control, swiftly exited the room.

What the fuck did you just do Robinavich?

***

Dennis was having a day like any other: rushed off his feet by the workload, getting teased relentlessly by Trinity at every spare moment, and, of course, partaking in his favourite and most inappropriate pastime - fantasising about Dr Robby.

He knew he shouldn’t give in to temptation, but Dennis has long since learned how to tune out the nagging voice in the back of his head that preached workplace code of conduct. It’s not like he was trying to jump his attending’s bones every time they’re alone in a room together, he just thinks about doing it.

Which is totally different. Kinda.

But today in the trauma room, he couldn’t believe his luck when Robby pulled him in for a hug. Granted, it was definitely a spur of the moment thing because he had just pulled off a spinal relocation on his own, but still. It would fuel Dennis’ wanking fantasies for weeks to come.

What bugged him though, was that immediately afterwards, Robby rushed from the room as if Dennis had electrocuted him, speeding around the corner and out of sight. Had he done something to scare him? No, that couldn’t be it, he didn’t even reciprocate the hug, too shocked by the attending’s impulsive action. What was wrong?

Dennis left the room after ensuring the patient was stable and comfortable and began scouring the ER for Trinity. He spotted her hunched over a computer in a quiet corner, no doubt trying to catch up on some charting. Well her charting would just have to wait.

“Patient presented with severe bruis- for the love of all that is good in the world, WHAT?” With a furious scowl, she turned to face Dennis, who dragged her to an empty bay, shutting the curtains behind them.

“Ok, so you know the tiny little crush I have on Robby?” he began.

“Oh so is that how you explain the lovesick expression you get every time he talks to you? Or just when he talks in general?” she teased.

Dennis shot her a glare. “Shut up.”

She shrugged. “Just observing.”

“Anyway, a woman came in a few minutes ago with dislocated vertebrae in her spine and, long story short, I reset her spine.”

He was promptly cut off by loud complaining. “Oh my god! Something interesting finally comes in when I start charting, you have got to be kidding me.” Dennis raised an eyebrow. “Continue,” she motioned.

Anyway, after I did it, Robby gave me a hug. Granted it was only a side hug, but he lingered. Like I mean held onto me for a solid 8 seconds. And then he let go of me and basically sprinted out of the room.”

“Jeez Huck, do you really smell that bad?”

“Trin seriously, I need some advice. I know it’s never gonna happen between us but I still want us to be friends. Did I do something?”

Trinity sighed. “You really want my opinion?” He nodded. “Honestly my little Huckleberry, it sounds like he has a big, fat, raging hard on for you.”

Dennis scoffed and folded his arms. “OK fine, if you’re so eager to get back to your charting you can go.”

“I am being serious! I’ve noticed how he looks at you too. It’s not too different from the puppy dog eyes you give him.”

“I do not give him puppy dog eyes,” he mumbled halfheartedly.

“Yeah alright.” She rolled her eyes. “Come on Huck. At least watch out for it for the last,” she checked her watch, “2 hours of our shift. Maybe it could be a starting point for tonight.” She winked and shot him a sly smirk.

Dennis’ eyes went wide. “Is he coming tonight?” Trinity just nodded.

He had never been on a staff night out with Robby before, each of them always managing to miss each other with clashing days off and, more recently, Robby’s sabbatical. Dennis couldn’t wait to see him in something other than scrubs, not that he didn’t rock them. But he had heard stories of Robby’s leather jacket, an infamous member of the Pittlings’ group chat. He needed to see it live and in person. For…reasons.

Trinity clapped him on the shoulder. “Look, if you’re so worried about it just talk to him. Say you noticed him acting a little off after you treated the trauma patient and you wanted to make sure he was OK and it wasn’t something you did. Clears the air and might even get you the answer you’re looking for. In more ways than one.” She winked and called over her shoulder as she was leaving, “Breakroom, Huck.”

And sure enough, there was Robby, sitting alone in the breakroom, hunched over a green tupperware container and a steaming mug. Dennis steeled himself and made his way over, opening the door before he could change his mind.

“Hey, mind if I join you?” he asked. Robby gestured to the chair absentmindedly.

“So, uh,” he began. “I noticed after that trauma patient, the lady who fell and dislocated her spine, that you seemed a little…off. I mean, you practically ran out of the room. It was kind of impressive really, one second you were there and then I blinked and you were gone,” he laughed weakly. “Anyway, I just wanted to make sure that I didn’t overstep when I volunteered to relocate her spine. I know it’s a very dangerous procedure and a lot could have gone wrong and-”

“Whitaker, stop. You don’t need to worry, it wasn’t your fault. Sometimes I get in my head, that’s all.” Robby ran a hand through his hair, mussing the spiky strands on the top of his head. Dennis could see how agitated he looked and, without thinking, reached out and placed a gentle hand on Robby’s arm. Robby looked up from the table, shocked, first at his face and then down at his hand resting on the bend of his elbow.

“You don’t have to deal with these things alone, you know. I get in my head all the time, stressed out and panicky about the silliest things. You can talk to me.” He caught himself and quickly drew his hand back. “Or someone else if you’re not comfortable of course. I’m sure Dr Abbot or Dana would be more than happy to-”

“Hey, kid.” Dennis felt the warmth of Robby’s hand as he reached out and rested it on his arm soothingly. He looked up and found Robby’s warm eyes looking straight into his. “Thanks. That’s a really kind offer. Who knows, I might even take you up on it someday.” He chuckled.

Dennis tried to reciprocate, but it came out weaker than he had hoped. His mind was occupied with more pressing matters.

His hand is on my arm.

His.

Hand.

Is.

On.

My.

Arm.

And he’s not pulling away.

Oh my god.

I’ve been quiet for too long.

I need to say something.

“You should.”

Idiot.

“I mean, I’ve been told I’m a great listener. Maybe it could take some weight off your chest.”

Better.

Robby smiled but didn’t say anything. He also didn’t move his hand off Dennis’ arm. He just kept staring into Dennis’ eyes, something…foreign stirring in them that Dennis couldn’t quite place.

His eyes were dark, darker than usual, more intense. Was it…no, it couldn’t be. Surely not. Trinity wasn’t right. Right? That would be crazy. Right? Dennis wasn’t sure.

Only one way to find out.

“So, uh, are you coming later?” Dennis asked, aiming for casual and landing somewhere between ‘I’m so nervous I’m about to projectile vomit everywhere’ and ‘I love you so much I can’t wait to see what our babies will look like.’

“The staff night out? Yes, I think so. Although it isn’t normally my scene, I’ve been away from everyone here for too long. It’ll be nice to catch up with everyone properly.” Robby’s eyes bored holes into Dennis’ skull at that last part.

Dennis nodded. “Yeah, it will.” His resolve broke for just a second, his eyes slid down to glance at Robby’s lips before quickly moving back to his eyes. The unidentifiable look in Robby’s eyes was back now, darkness clouding his normally soft irises.

Dennis felt his pulse quicken. This darkness, this hunger that he could see in Robby’s eyes, could only be described as one thing.

Desire.

He was sure the same look was mirrored on his face.

Good. Let Robby see the effect he has on you. Maybe this time, he’ll do something about it.

Dennis decided that he was done with pretending he had no feelings for Robby. It was now obvious that the attending had at least some of the same feelings as Dennis. He wanted to investigate it further but, unfortunately, duty calls.

A loud rap on the door from Langdon broke the spell and Robby looked away, snatching his hand away from Dennis’ arm. “Nice chatting to you, Whitaker. I’d better see what’s going on out there.”

“Nice talking to you too, Doctor Robby. I’ll save a drink for you later.”

That gave Robby pause. He froze at the door and turned to look over his shoulder directly into Dennis’ eyes, searching for….he didn’t know what.

A small smile crept onto his lips. “Yeah alright. See you later, Dennis.”

And with that, he was gone.

***

“I’m telling you, you look fine,” Trinity whined as Dennis stopped outside the 10th car mirror they passed on their way to the bar to check his hair.

“This isn’t just some normal night, Trin. This could be THE night. Did I tell you he-”

“Called you Dennis? Yes, you did. 27 times. I counted.”

Dennis sighed, quickly running his hands through the front of his hair. It really was fine, but he needed it to be perfect before he saw Robby again, especially if he was going to be wearing the leather jacket.

“Come onnnn Huckleberry, Crash is already in there waiting for us. You can’t make her spend any more of her first official work night out without her friends!”

“OK, OK fine! I’m coming,” Dennis huffed, straightening up and walking to the door. Taking a deep breath, he swung it open and followed Trinity inside. He squinted through the colourful flashing lights to try and make out anyone he recognised. He spotted Victoria sitting at a booth in the corner with Mel, looking slightly bored as Mel spoke animatedly about something, presumably the Renaissance fair that was coming to town next weekend; he had heard her discussing it with Langdon earlier today, but he was nowhere in sight. Neither was Dana. They probably decided not to come.

“I need a drink,” he heard Trinity say and followed her to the bar. “I love Mel but I can’t face another conversation about chemises and jousting without some form of alcohol in me.”

She pushed a shot glass and some pink fruity drink towards him. Dennis eyed them both suspiciously. “What’s in these?”

Trinity flashed him a smile. “Try them and see.”

He shrugged. What the hell.

Dennis knocked back the shot in one and immediately regretted it.

“Ugh Trinity you evil, evil human! Tequila with no chasers? Are you insane?”

Trinity cackled with glee. “I will never get tired of your shot face. Anyway, you need the courage if you want to go through with your plan.”

“What plan?”

Dennis almost jumped a foot in the air, spinning around to see none other than Doctor Robby in front of him, wearing his black leather jacket, the well-worn fabric hugging his figure so perfectly. Dennis almost moaned.

“Doctor Robby! So good to see you out of the hospital,” Trinity said, glancing at Dennis with an evil smile. “I was just saying how I should go say hi to Victoria and Mel. See you later.” And with that, Satan incarnate was gone.

Robby turned to Dennis with an expectant smile.

Shit shit shit, think fast.

“Uhh it’s not really my plan, it’s Trinity's. She’s trying to get me to stay on the dance floor for 3 consecutive songs. I’m not much of a dancer.” He chuckled halfheartedly, scratching the back of his neck.

Robby smiled. “Me neither. I have two left feet when it comes to that sort of thing.” He took a sip of amber liquid and Dennis turned to grab his drink. Robby furrowed his eyebrows. “What is that?”

Dennis grimaced. “No idea. Trinity got it for me.” He took a sip and frowned. “It’s quite sweet. I don’t know how to feel about it.” He glanced at Robby. “Want to taste?”

Robby nodded. “Sure.”

Dennis expected him to take the glass out of his hand, but instead, he leaned down and took the straw in his mouth, glancing up at Dennis through his eyelashes as he sipped.

What. The. Fuck.

He scrunched his nose up and grimaced at the taste. “There must only be syrup in there, that is unbearably sweet,” he remarked, like what he had just done wasn’t making blood rush to some very inconvenient parts of Dennis’ body.

Dennis stared at him, dumbstruck, for a second then snapped out of it and said, “We should probably go say hi to everyone,” and began making his way over to the booth, trying to calm his racing heart as Robby followed him.

Greetings were exchanged as the two arrived at the booth, Dennis sliding in beside Victoria, and Robby clapping Abbot on the back as they left for a “bathroom break.”

“Hmm sneaky. I wonder what that’s about,” Trinity whispered into Dennis’ ear.

***

Robby was freaking out. After his conversation with Denn- no, Whitaker in the breakroom earlier, he had no idea how to act around him. Did he have an enormous, all-consuming crush on him? Yes. But was he also his 20-something resident? Also yes.

He needed to talk to Jack.

“I need to talk to you about something,” he said when they were far enough away from the booth to not be heard.

“Shoot,” Jack replied.

Robby took a deep breath. “How did you know Mohan liked you? As more than just a nice coworker?”

Jack’s eyebrows shot up to his hairline. “Woah brother, do you have your eye on somebody at work? Even after what happened with Collins?”

Robby shushed him aggressively, eyes darting around to make sure nobody from the hospital heard him.

“Will you lower your voice? They could hear you!”

“OK, OK, jeez.” He scratched the back of his neck, thinking. “Uhh, with me and Samira, I guess it was the lingering looks first. Then the not-so-accidental touches and the flirty comments. Then she just flat out asked me out. She’s direct like that. And so fearless. You know-”

“Jack please. I need your advice here. Not that I’m not happy for you both, I am, believe me. I just need to know what to do.”

“You know, if you told me who it was, I could give you an outsider’s perspective.”

Robby sighed and ran his hands through his hair, contemplating.

“OK fine. But you have to promise not to tell ANYONE. That includes Mohan. Do I have your word?” He held out his hand.

Jack looked down at it with one eyebrow raised but shook it nonetheless. Robby glanced around one last time for good measure before saying, “It’s Whitaker.”

Jack’s eyes almost popped out of his skull. “Whitaker? Are you serious?”

Robby could feel his cheeks going beet red. “You know what, forget it. I shouldn’t have said anything.”

He was cut off. “NO! Robby, if you're serious, you’re gonna make the kid’s life. Everyone can see he’s head over heels for you. I always thought it was kinda cute, but if you’re into him too? You couldn’t ask for a more perfect situation if you tried.”

Robby raised his head and looked up at Jack. “Are you sure?” he almost whispered.

Jack nodded. “100%”

“But is the power dynamic not weird? I’m his attending and also at least 20 years older than him. I don’t know.”

“Robby, he’s an adult. He can make his own decisions. If you both want this, why deny it? You’d only be making each other miserable for no good reason.”

He turned to go and clapped Robby on the shoulder. “You’ve worked so hard and sacrificed so much. You deserve happiness too. At least have some fun,” he winked with a smirk.

Robby laughed, shaking his head and following Jack back to the booth, sliding in beside him.

The night passed with the usual antics: Santos begging people to come dance with her, everyone refusing, until Whitaker relented and allowed her to drag him out to the middle of the dance floor even though he looked like he would rather be anywhere else. But when he got into it, the kid had moves. And after a few drinks (Jack had just bought the table a 5TH round of shots), he moved like no other, his hips swinging rhythmically to the music as he bobbed his head and moved his shoulders. He had definitely been lying about not being much of a dancer because Robby couldn’t tear his eyes away.

At that moment, Whitaker looked up, catching him red-handed. But Robby still couldn’t look away. Whitaker smirked and began rolling his hips more provocatively, staring right at him.

Robby’s mouth went dry. Maybe Jack wasn’t lying.

He watched as Whitaker grabbed Santos and began dancing with her, holding her waist as they swung their hips in tandem. Whitaker never broke eye contact once.

Holy shit.

Robby had to force his eyes away, blood rushing to places he would rather it not be going. He tried to join in on Javadi, Donnie and Emma’s conversation but at that moment, Whitaker and Santos had decided they’d had enough dancing for one night and rejoined the group in the booth.

Santos, clearly unsatisfied with the energy at the table, exclaimed, “I know how to liven this group up. A good old fashioned game of truth or dare.”

Robby groaned inwardly. What fresh hell would this game cause?

It started off fairly tame, with Mohan being dared to eat a pickled onion soaked in Santos’ margarita, and Emma admitting to everyone that she used to steal Cosmopolitan magazines from the gas station when she was 14.

But after a few rounds of this, Santos, ever unpredictable, deemed the game “too boring” and decided to spice things up by changing the rules: each truth or dare had to have something to do with the people sitting at the table. So far, Robby had managed to get off easy with just one dare (having to wear Javadi’s star-shaped clips in his hair for the rest of the game), but he knew he wouldn’t continue to be so lucky.

He could feel the shots Jack had bought and the whiskey he had earlier starting to catch up to him now. Even though he had quite a high alcohol tolerance, his head was slightly spinning. He made the executive decision to stick to water for the rest of the night.

One look at Whitaker told him that he was faring much better than Robby, even though he had drunk more than him. He was sipping on another one of those awful fruity drinks and laughing at something Donnie had said, but his eyes were crystal clear and he was not slurring a single word.

Wow, he can really hold his liquor.

Robby was awoken from his daydreaming by the sound of his name being called.

“OK Robby, truth or dare?” He turned to face Jack, who had a worryingly sly look on his face.

Oh no.

“Truth.”

“Have you ever, in the past or right now, had a crush on anyone sitting at the table?”

He gulped.

The little prick

Robby laughed nervously and took a sip of his drink. “I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to answer that, as many of your attending.”

Gasps erupted through the group. “Oh my god Doctor Robby you didn’t!” exclaimed Javadi, a hand over her mouth. Robby could feel his cheeks heating up.

“I never confirmed anything.”

“Yeah but you didn’t deny it either,” Santos pointed out.

The table exploded into a heated debate about who it could be, how long it was going on, does the other person know, all the things that Robby never wanted any of them to find out.

Robby shot Jack a look that he hoped channelled the extent of his wrath. Jack only smirked and took another sip of his drink. He snuck a glance at Whitaker, who, contrary to his expectations, did not look scared. Instead he looked…calculating? His big eyes were focused on him, slightly narrowed, and his mouth curled a little at the edges.

Oh

Robby looked away and, deciding the debate had gone on long enough, raised his voice over the cacophony and said, “O-KAY! Santos, truth or dare?”

She scoffed. “Dare, always.”

“Down the rest of Jack’s drink in one go.”

Jack looked up, alarmed. “Hey, no that’s mine.”

Robby only shrugged. “It’s part of the game, brother. You can’t say no.”

He sighed and, very unwillingly, released his almost-full whiskey sour. Santos grabbed it before he could change his mind and, much to the surprise of everyone, drank the whole thing in three seconds without so much as a grimace.

Jack let out a low whistle. “Impressive.”

Santos bowed her head and raised the now-empty glass. “I aim to please. OK my turn.” She scanned the table for her next victim. Robby prayed to every deity he could think of that it wouldn’t be him. “Whitaker,” she said with an evil grin. “Truth or dare?”

“Dare,” he replied.

“I dare you to sit in Robby’s lap for the rest of the game.”

Now that he did not expect.

Robby was pretty sure he and Whitaker were both pulling the exact same face of pure bewilderment, staring at Santos in shock. She only shrugged and looked at them with a blithe smile. “Can’t say no. It’s the game.”

Whitaker looked at him with a wide-eyed expression. “We don’t have to do this, I can stop playing if it makes you uncomfortable, or-”

Robby stopped him. “Whitaker, it’s your dare. I don’t mind.”

In reality he was terrified he would get hard and have no way of hiding it from Whitaker. But he kept that bit to himself.

Whitaker nodded. “OK.” He got up and made his way over to the other side of the booth. Robby was sitting on the edge, so he perched on the end of Robby’s knees, but Santos was having none of it. “No no no! Scooch right back, Huckleberry. Your back should be right up against his front.”

She finally relented when Whitaker’s ass was pressed up against Robby’s crotch, and his back was flush with Robby’s front. He needed to almost hug him every time he reached for his drink. Which was perfectly alright with him. He could see Jack’s smug smirk from the corner of his eye.

Why did he agree to play this game? He would never make it through without everyone finding out his secret, now that they suspected him after Jack’s question. He just had to take deep breaths and focus on anything other than Whitaker’s ass sitting right on top of his cock. It’s fine, he can do this.

And it was fine.

At the start, at least. He made it through 2 whole questions without thinking too much about his proximity to Whitaker.

Until he started to move.

It was only a small movement, just him shifting to get comfortable, but the effect it had on Robby was not small at all. He was already tense from trying to ignore the weight in his lap, and he had been doing a pretty good job. So when he felt Whitaker moving, it caught him completely off guard.

He let out a small gasp, his hand automatically moving to hold Whitaker’s waist still. He felt Whitaker stiffen slightly at his touch and promptly dropped it. He glanced at the others to make sure no one had seen, but none of them seemed to be taking any notice of him. Not even Whitaker had acknowledged it. Maybe he hadn’t heard. One could only hope.

But he had definitely noticed his hand.

Why wasn’t he saying anything? Surely when your boss grabs your waist, you acknowledge it and call him out for being a creepy old man, right?

Robby didn’t have long to puzzle over it because just as he was about to get up and call it a night, Whitaker moved again. It was a small, experimental arch, but enough to feel the hardness growing in Robby’s jeans.

Robby let out a shaky exhale and willed his self restraint to hold out.

But then Whitaker moved again, and he almost passed out. This time Robby knew it was intentional. Instead of just a small shuffle, he rolled his hips back hard, pressing his ass into Robby’s crotch. Robby had to squeeze the corner of the bench to stop himself from making any noises.

He had no idea how this looked from anyone else’s perspective, but one glance around confirmed that everyone was too preoccupied with Mel reciting some sort of slam poetry to look their way.

Whitaker had not stopped moving once and Robby was having a hard time controlling his breathing. One more glance at Jack on his right, who was watching Mohan with puppy dog eyes as she watched Mel, and his mind was made up.

He gripped Whitaker’s hips, stopping his movements, leaned up to his ear and whispered, “Bathroom. Now.”

Whitaker got up immediately.

Good boy

“Be back in a second, just heading to the bathroom,” he told Santos, who nodded and waved him away, enraptured by Mel’s performance, which still wasn’t over. Robby gave it a few seconds, then, deciding nobody would miss him, quietly got up and followed Whitaker to the bathrooms.

He walked through the doorway and down the corridor towards the men’s room, but he was intercepted as he passed the unisex stall, a hand coming out to grab his collar and drag him in. He just about registered wide blue eyes before he was being pushed against the back of the door and felt the press of lips against his own.

Robby relaxed into the kiss, one hand coming up to rest on the side of Whitaker’s neck while the other grabbed his waist and pulled him closer. Whitaker sighed against his lips, his hands running through the strands of hair at the nape of Robby’s neck. He grabbed a handful and pulled, forcing Robby’s head back, a surprised moan falling from his lips.

Whitaker kissed down his neck, nipping at the soft skin at his jawline, eliciting a hiss from Robby. He smiled against his neck and continued his attack.

Jesus Whitaker,” Robby breathed.

“Dennis. Call me Dennis like you did in the breakroom,” he said against his neck.

Robby sighed in pleasure. “Dennis.” He pushed his leg between Dennis’ and pressed up. He was rewarded with a breathy noise beside his ear. “Fuck, Doctor Robby.”

“Call me Robby.” He pulled Dennis’ face back to his own and crashed their lips together. The sweet slide of their tongues was all he could have asked for and more. His hands, resting on Dennis’ waist, moved down to his hips and began pushing them down and against his leg.

Dennis moaned into his mouth, rolling his hips to meet Robby’s leg. Robby slid his hands under Dennis’ shirt, letting his hands roam the smooth skin of his midriff.

So soft, so smooth, so young-

Oh god.

So young.

Robby dropped his hands and shifted his leg away, moving to the opposite wall. What was he doing? This was highly inappropriate, he was Dennis’ boss for goodness sake!

Dennis looked at him with a worried expression. “Is everything alright Robby?”

Robby closed his eyes and shook his head. “We can’t- I can’t do this. I’m your boss, hell I’m old enough to be your father! It would be an exceptional abuse of power on my part and I don’t want to negatively impact your residency at PTMC if this were to go sour. It’s just not worth it. I’m sorry if I made you feel forced to do this in any way.”

Dennis stared at him with an incredulous expression. “You have got to be joking. You think you forced me into this? Robby, have you not seen the way I’ve been looking at you for the past year? I’m crazy about you! And it would absolutely not be an abuse of power on your part at all.”

He moved beside Robby, who was sitting on the closed toilet seat with his head in his hands. “Robby, look at me.” Robby looked up, cheeks red with embarrassment. “You are, by far, the sexiest man I have ever seen, and I would very much like you to fuck me tonight.”

Robby laughed, ducking his head. “Do you really not care about my age?”

Dennis shrugged. “It’s kinda hot. Now can we please continue what we were doing?”

Robby’s eyes darkened. “Not here. Are you working tomorrow?”

Dennis shook his head.

Robby smiled. “Perfect.”

***

The taxi ride was one of the longest Dennis had ever experienced in his life. They had quickly made their excuses to the rest of the crew, telling them Dennis was feeling sick and Robby was making sure he got home alright.

One look at Trinity’s face and he knew she wasn’t buying it for a second. And sure enough, when they got into the taxi, Dennis opened his phone to a message:

How does it feel knowing ur about to fuck the boss?

Actually don’t answer that I don’t wanna know

Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do xx

Dennis hid a small smile and tucked his phone into the back pocket of his jeans.

Robby had told him they had to wait until they got to his house to do anything, he wouldn’t even kiss Dennis (“It wouldn’t be fair to the poor driver”), so he tried to focus on literally anything else.

But that was practically impossible in such a small space with the hottest man on the planet. His mind was overridden with images of Robby towering above him, head thrown back in bliss as his hand gripped Dennis’ curls.

This image was NOT helping his half-hard length that hadn’t gone down since he first sat on Robby’s lap.

Eventually, they arrived at Robby’s place. Robby tipped the driver generously (as if Dennis needed any more reasons to like him) and grabbed him by the waist, swiftly leading him inside.

Once the door shut, Robby wasted no time, pushing Dennis against the back of the door and slamming their lips together. Dennis’ hands immediately found their way to the back of Robby’s neck, carding their way through his hair.

Robby groaned and grabbed Dennis’ waist, pressing it flush against his own, hard.

Dennis let out a soft moan and pressed back with equal fervour.

Not holding back anymore, huh? I like this side of you.

Dennis reached up and pushed the leather jacket off Robby’s shoulders. One less barrier to get through.

The kisses were becoming dirtier the more their hips rolled against each other and all Dennis wanted in this world was to get on his knees and taste Robby’s cock.

So that’s exactly what he did.

He broke the kiss and, without breaking eye contact, dropped to his knees. His hands unbuckled Robby’s belt at lightning speed. Something in him told him to slow down and enjoy the fantasy he’d been having for months on end finally coming to life, but he just couldn’t bring himself to. Why torture himself when what he’s been craving is finally right in front of him?

Robby’s breathing quickened as Dennis popped open the button and unzipped his jeans, shoving them halfway down his thighs, along with his black briefs. His cock sprung up, almost at full mast. Dennis pumped it a few times before deciding, ‘Enough is enough,’ and taking the whole thing in his mouth.

A hiss escaped Robby and Dennis felt a hand in his curls, holding him still. Dennis looked up from under his lashes. Robby’s eyes were squeezed shut and the hand not in Dennis’ curls was clutching the edge of the door frame for dear life.

It was the hottest thing Dennis had ever seen.

Dennis soon felt the hand in his hair loosening its grip and he began slowly bobbing his head, never looking away from Robby’s face. He had opened his eyes and tilted his head back to lean against the door, looking down at Dennis through half lidded eyes. His mouth was hanging slightly open, his lips and beard damp with their mixed saliva.

It was like he had jumped straight out of one of Dennis’ wet dreams.

Dennis hollowed out his cheeks and sucked lightly, swirling his tongue around the head. Robby groaned and his eyes rolled back, the hand that was resting on the back of Dennis’ head tightening in his curls once again. But this time he didn’t stop. He hummed around the length and pressed his nose against the coarse hair at the base. He could feel the swollen head against the back of his throat and used all of his willpower not to gag.

Robby let out a low moan. “Oh fuck Dennis, that’s it, take all of it like a good boy.”

Dennis could feel his eyes welling with tears but willed them not to fall. He swallowed around Robby’s cock and was rewarded with another filthy noise slipping from Robby’s lips.

Satisfied that he had proven himself enough, he began moving again, this time at a much faster pace. He felt the tears fall from his eyes and start streaming down his cheeks but he couldn’t bring himself to care. Robby’s shaky breaths became faster, letting out small moans as he exhaled.

“Oh fuck, oh god. Dennis you need to stop, I’m-fuck-I’m gonna come if you don’t stop right now.” His hands were in his hair, pulling, trying to get him to stop and, if it weren’t for that, he would have kept going. But he was determined to show him what a good boy he was.

He stood up and Robby immediately pulled him in for a filthy kiss. Teeth crashed and tongues slid together as Dennis whimpered into his mouth.

“Jesus Christ Dennis, where on Earth did you learn how to do that?” Robby panted when they finally broke apart for air.

Dennis just shrugged, breathing heavily as a smirk pulled at his lips. “Around.”

Robby laughed. “So you’re a little slut, huh?”

That wiped the smirk of Dennis’ face, replacing it with a look of pure carnal need.

Robby noticed, obviously, and leaned in beside his ear. “Yeah? You like it when I call you a slut? Gonna bring you upstairs and see how much of a slut you really are. You want that?”

All Dennis could do was nod.

That wasn’t enough for Robby. “Ah ah ah, use your words baby.”

Dennis breathed out a whimper.

“Please Robby, need you to make me your slut, wanna be good for you.”

Robby’s mouth fell ajar and his eyes widened.

“Fucking hell,” he breathed, near-speechless.

In one swift movement, he pulled his jeans back up and led Dennis upstairs by the waist. Once they reached the bedroom, Robby shut the door and pulled Dennis in for a bruising kiss, fumbling at the hem of his shirt. “Off,” he murmured against his lips. Dennis obliged, yanking the soft material over his head and pushing the hem of Robby’s up his midriff and over his head.

Dennis brought their lips together again as Robby slowly began walking them backwards towards the bed. He felt the bed frame against the back of his legs and, wrapping his arms around Robby’s neck, lay back. Robby fell on top of him with a loud oomph.

“Impatient, are we?” Dennis looked up at the figure kneeling over him with a wide-eyed expression, momentarily speechless when he was met with narrowed, hungry brown eyes mere inches from his own.

Robby smirked and closed the distance between them once again, licking into Dennis’ mouth and eliciting a groan of pleasure from the younger man. He began kissing down Dennis’ neck, paying special attention to the soft skin under his ear that made him arch into his touch. Dennis could feel him nipping at the area, sure it would leave a mark, which would definitely warrant some questions at work, but he didn’t care.

Let them see.

Robby’s lips were moving progressively lower, sucking and licking at Dennis’ exposed torso. Dennis watched with heavy lidded eyes as Robby reached his waistband and slowly, so slowly, undid the fastenings on his jeans and inched them down his waist. Dennis tried to wiggle his hips and help the process along, but Robby was having none of it.

“Ah ah ah,” he chastised, slapping him lightly on his hip bone. “So impatient today. Whatever will I do with you, hmm?”

A small breathy noise fell from Dennis’ lips as he dazedly watched Robby finally pull his trousers and briefs the whole way off, his rock hard cock springing to attention as it was released from the confines of his briefs. Robby hummed low in his throat and pumped it twice before leaning in to lick a bead of precome off the tip.

Dennis finally found his voice then, letting out a loud, needy whimper. Robby looked up at him with a smirk. “That’s it, show me how good I make you feel. I want to hear you.”

Dennis could only nod helplessly and watched with wide eyes as Robby began suckling the angry red head.

“Holy shit,” he breathed. He had never been this turned on in his life. Robby lowered his head, taking more of Dennis into his mouth. Dennis whined, loud and high pitched. “Fuck Robby, feels so good.”

Robby hummed around his cock and Dennis’ back almost snapped as it arched aggressively, his hips bucking into Robby’s mouth. He felt the tight grip of Robby’s hands on his hips, pressing them into the mattress.

Fuck,” Dennis whimpered, letting his head fall back and throwing an arm over his face. This was all too much, too much pleasure for him to handle.

Suddenly, he felt Robby pull off.

“No. Eyes on me, baby.”

Dennis forced his head back up and watched, almost paralyzed, as Robby resumed what could only be described as the blowjob sent from heaven. He bobbed his head, changing up the pace, and using his tongue to do downright sinful things that Dennis couldn’t put into words if he tried.

He held eye contact the entire time.

Which, in turn, made it so much better worse for Dennis.

He had been letting out some truly embarrassing noises, his hips fighting against Robby’s powerful hands the entire time. But just when Dennis didn’t think he could hold off for much longer, Robby pulled off. His beard around his mouth and chin was dripping with saliva, the hairs flattened to his face. He was panting slightly, looking up at Dennis with watery eyes and a slightly open mouth.

He had never looked hotter.

Dennis’ chest was heaving. His cock was so hard he couldn’t think straight. All he knew was that if he didn’t get Robby’s cock in him now he would die.

Thankfully, he didn’t have to wait long.

He felt a tap on his hips. “Turn over.” He rolled over and waited with bated breath, listening to Robby shuffling around behind him. The warm hands spreading his cheeks open contrasted with the cool gel Robby had smeared on his fingers, which were now circling the pink muscle.

He pressed one finger in and Dennis shoved his face into a pillow, attempting to muffle his moans. Robby was, of course, having none of this. He wrenched his finger out and wordlessly waited for Dennis to lower the pillow, which he did sheepishly.

“Good boy. Don’t do that again, I won’t repeat myself.”

Dennis shuddered, causing Robby to shove his finger back in in response. He felt the burn of another finger being added as Robby began spreading them inside him and a sob wrenched its way out of him. He knew how depraved he must sound but he couldn’t bring himself to care enough to be quieter. He just hoped none of Robby’s neighbours were home.

Just then, Robby hit the bundle of nerves that made Dennis shout louder than he had all evening.

“Holy fuck Robby right there please,” he wailed, arching his back and pushing his ass up in the air.

Robby chuckled and obliged, curling his fingers into Dennis’ prostate again and again, massaging the area with his fingertips.

Dennis saw white.

His eyes rolled so far back into his head that he could have seen his brain had it not already been melted by Robby’s magical fingers.

“Fuuuuckkkk,” he groaned. He felt Robby do some scissor motions and then…nothing. He whined in frustration, until he heard Robby’s voice.

“I think that’s enough prep, don’t you? Let's see how beautiful you look stretched out around my cock.”

Dennis couldn’t think of anything he’d like better.

He nodded enthusiastically and repositioned himself, arching his back and swaying his hips slightly side to side. He had never been this turned on in his life. His cock was rock hard and throbbing, still on the edge from Robby’s vicious attack on his prostate. He needed Robby inside him yesterday.

Luckily for Dennis, Robby was on the exact same page. He grabbed Dennis’ hips and, without wasting a second, pressed himself into Dennis, going right up to the hilt.

For a second, Dennis couldn’t breathe.

He was.

So.

Full.

He felt the burn of his hole stretching around Robby; his fingers hadn’t been nearly enough to prepare him for the sheer girth.

But then Robby moved.

And time stood still.

“That’s it, take it all like a good boy,” Dennis heard him say in his ear. “Do you have any idea how long I’ve been waiting for this?” He groaned low in his throat, slowly thrusting in and out of Dennis.

Dennis’s brain was in overdrive. He whined at Robby’s words and, just loud enough for Robby to hear, breathed out, “Then fuck me like you mean it.”

That shattered whatever control Robby had left like an elastic band. He splayed a hand between Dennis’ shoulder blades, forcing his chest against the mattress. He didn’t bother with the slow, languid pace he set at the start, hammering into him with a force he didn’t know he possessed.

If Dennis thought he was far gone before, that was nothing compared to now. He could feel his insides turning to mush. He was vaguely aware of spit on his face and on the sheets he was pressed against, as well as the litany of debauched sounds coming from his open mouth, but he didn’t care. Not when Robby was hitting that sweet spot with sniper-level precision and calling him “my good boy.”

“Look at you, stretched out on my cock like the slut you are. Who would have guessed that little Huckleberry liked it so rough?”

“Feels - ah - feels so good.” Dennis’ back arched as Robby shifted his angle, stretching his rim even more. Stars exploded behind his eyelids, the burning pleasure bordering on pain. He could feel himself getting closer to the edge already, his muscles clenching involuntarily around Robby, who noticed immediately and sneered, “Already so close for me? You’re so easy, baby. Just a few minutes and you’re already squeezing around my cock. You’re not allowed to come yet though, you can hold it a bit longer.”

Dennis whined, loud and high, but didn’t dare to disobey Robby. He wanted to be able to come tonight, even if it meant he had to hold himself back for a little while. He focused on his breathing and the rhythmic grunts Robby was letting out on each thrust.

And he was doing such a good job.

Until Robby started talking again.

“You look so beautiful around my cock, baby, so perfect. I’ve wanted to do this for so long, you have no idea how many times I wanted to bend you over an exam room bed and have my way with you. But then I wouldn’t have had you to myself, the whole ER would have known.”

Dennis moaned into the spit-soaked mattress, his hole fluttering around Robby.

“Oh you like that, huh? Bet you liked how they all saw us leaving together earlier. Bet you want everyone to know you’re fucking the boss, that you’re such a good boy for him, taking his cock so well-”

He cut himself off with a loud groan. Dennis could feel his rhythm faltering and let out a moan of relief. He couldn’t hold back any longer and was barreling straight for the edge with no way of stopping.

“They’ve probably already set up bets on how you like it best: pressed up against the wall, on your back with your legs on my shoulders, riding me on the couch. But they should know, all a little slut like you wants is to be bent over and fucked like their life depends on it.”

That was too much for Dennis. He felt it in his teeth when he came, his entire body shaking as he gripped the sheets between his fists like a lifeline. He had never felt pleasure like this before, his cock pulsing white ropes all over Robby’s sheets as Robby continued to slam into him with added vigour.

Dennis felt his thrusts speed up and felt an iron grip on his hips as warmth exploded inside him. Robby released his grip with a groan and Dennis collapsed on the bed, too exhausted to hold himself up any longer. Robby followed suit, crumpling on top of Dennis, completely spent.

They lay there together, breathing in tandem for a few minutes before Robby rolled off of him and onto the other side of the bed, pulling out of Dennis in the process. He could feel Robby’s come dripping out of him, as well as his own come drying on his abdomen, but couldn’t bring himself to get up and clean himself up yet.

He felt an arm wrap around his waist and pull him against something warm and solid.

“Stay.”

And yeah. The cleanup could wait until morning.
