Doubling Back

Summary:

Vox accidentally gives Valentino cursed jewelry all the time. It's time for Val to return the favour. Even if he doesn't know what the curse does when he gets it.

Work Text:

It was not Valentino’s first rodeo.

He was used to ending up with cursed jewelry and other items. He would say they gravitated toward him, except they actually gravitated toward Vox, who would see something pretty and gift it to Val. He gave Val so many things, and most of them were not cursed, so it wasn’t like Val expected it. And as long as it wasn’t cursed because of some ghost shit, Val didn’t mind too much.

Sure, both Vox and Velvette told him there were no such things as ghosts, but Val knew Hell wasn’t aware of everything going on in the universe. There were definitely ghosts, but that was besides the point.

The point was Val was sure the gem in front of him now was cursed. It had that cursed feel. It was set into the front of a diadem. It would look good on Val, but he wondered if there was a way to make it look good on Vox. Because it would be great revenge to hit Vox with a curse for once.

The marketplace was crazy crowded, but people kept a wide berth from walking into Valentino. They knew who he was and didn’t want to get into trouble. The Sinner who was selling the beautiful diadem in a place like this was also aware. They were in awe, but definitely had started out wary when Val had arrived.

“You know this is cursed, right?” Val asked, pointing at the blue-tinted opal. Or whatever gemstone it actually was. It looked like an opal, but it was as likely it was some sort of demon stone that just looked like one.

The feline Sinner’s eyes went wide, which was very comical because they looked like what would happen if a box of pastel chalk exploded on someone… except for their eyes which were a regular red colour. “What?”

“I was studying it to make sure, but there’s definitely some sort of curse on it.” Val grinned. “Of course you didn’t know, baby. I guess it takes a certain something to sense it.”

The fidgeting could have been because they were caught with it and hadn’t taken it well, or because they didn’t know. Either way, the Sinner knew they couldn’t tell Val he was wrong.

Val didn’t take it for nothing, but he did get a discount, which he then spent to have the seller change up the diadem enough into a crown through their connections. It meant neither of them had to work on it to see what the curse would do, but it would be changed into something he could gift to Vox.

Satisfied with how he would be sent the completed gift in a couple weeks, Val left that stall to catch up where Velvette was debating things with another Sinner. It was amazing what they could find while thrifting.

Someone killed someone else in the adjacent stall, so Velvette and Val got the first look at what was for free after muscling the murderer away. Them being there meant there would be less theft than there might have been, so taking a little was for them being good samaritans. Val felt like he had done something like this in life, but not in the life he remembered. If only Hell hadn’t told him reincarnation didn’t exist. He was certain he had lived as a woman who had done this in the early 20th century.

By the end of the day, Val had forgotten what he had ordered.

Vox was thrilled with it. So much so, he posed for Val immediately for a portrait with it. Val dressed him up in an in a shirt which only buttoned up to under his tits, a flowing cape to drape behind him, and grabbed a prop chair fit for a king for Vox to prop his foot up on in a conquering pose. Some unlit candles were set up around the seat, because Val had some other ideas.

“You are beautiful, papi.” Val sketched away to make sure he would have all of his references, as well as dabbing away with some paint for the colours.

“Of course I am!” Vox grinned. “I can’t believe you actually bought me a gift for once!”

“It’s hard shopping for you!” Val excused himself. “What does one buy for the man who can buy anything?”

“That accounts for you too, you know. I buy you gifts all the time!”

“Yes, but you know part of the gift is how I love knowing you spent money on me.”

Vox flushed, but shook it off. “You say that like I didn’t just say the same!”

“Yes, but you also love spending money on me. It’s as much a gift for you as it is for me.”

“You don’t like spending money on me?”

“Not as much as I like riding your face. That’s a gift I give which is for the both of us, cariño.”

Vox was obviously imagining it now. “Can we do that?”

“After I’m done with this,” Val started to say, but despite those being his words, he put his art supplies down and went to push Vox onto the ground. Candles scattered.

“Woah! Val, what—”

Val shrugged his panties down his hips until he could reach down and yank them to the ground. He stepped out of them and straddled Vox’s head. On the other hand, Val was very aware he hadn’t chosen to do this yet. “Wh-what?” He squeaked as his ass landed on Vox’s mouth.

It wasn’t that Vox eating him out wasn’t amazing, but Val was very aware that he had been made to do that. It didn’t make sense. It shouldn’t have been possible. Vox wasn’t using his eye and, even if he had, it wouldn’t have worked on him. Val would still get off from this and he he ground down against Vox’s screen. Nothing was stopping him from grabbing his cocks and working them until he came right over Vox’s head.

Vox pushed him off his face and sat up. “Wow.”

The orgasm was still amazing. Something about the lack of choice had done something for it too—though only because it was with Vox. “I didn’t choose to do that.”

“What?” Vox tried to pull him onto his dick.

“I mean, you heard me!” Val shoved his shoulder. “I said we could do it after, and then did it! I didn’t choose to do that!”

They stared at each other.

“Did I order you?” Vox asked.

“I didn’t think so?” Val squeaked again. “And you can’t! So that doesn’t work!”

“Kiss me.”

Val didn’t feel like he had to. “Nope.”

With a frown, Vox gestured to his dick. “Blow me.”

“No.” Val tapped a finger against his lip. Only then did he remember the opal was cursed. Maybe it was a one time use thing? “I think your crown had a charge.”

Vox blinked and then took the crown off to look it over. “Did… did you get me an enchanted crown?”

Huh. He supposed a curse would seem like an enchantment when it did something positive for the person instead of something else. “I guess? Whoops!”

Vox brought up a screen of the security footage of the room they were in. Val watched what had just happened like he was in a game which had to reiterate what had just happened in a flashback. Vox put the crown back on his head.

“Do a cartwheel.”

Val laughed. “What do you—”

“Could you do a cartwheel?”

In a single motion, Val jumped up onto his right hands and then spun onto his right before ending up on his feet. He hadn’t done something like that since the last time he’d been on stage. Val blinked.

Vox definitely looked like he hit the jackpot. “Can you come over and kiss me?”

“You’d better not take advantage of this, papacito—” Val snapped at him as he walked over, knelt in front of Vox, and kissed him. Vox kissed back. Val’s heart raced. How could it not? As problematic as it was, he had wanted to do mind control kink with Vox forever. It wouldn’t be the same as hypno, because his mind was clear, but actually having no choice?

Val was definitely hard again.

“Holy shit,” said Vox as they parted. “Does this work on everyone?”

“The problem with that is the best person to test it on is Velvette. Everyone else in the tower will obey you anyway. But babydoll will kill you.”

Vox frowned. “Oh, right.”

“And it’ll be hard to wear that in public to test it on other Overlords.”

Vox’s eyes angled up toward his crown. “Not too hard, but if I don’t want them to realize what’s up, I’ll have to be careful.”

“So much power~” Val purred and ran a hand up and down Vox’s chest before lowering it to Vox’s strained slacks. Rubbing over the surface, Val undid the belt with one hand and slipped it inside. Vox hummed and rolled his hips forward as Val stroked him.

Then Val grabbed his testicles harshly and Vox wheezed.

“But you’d best be careful, my wonderful man, because if you use this to make me do things I do not like, you’ll find yourself without this fun toy. And without me.”

After the warning, Vox’s grin returned. Even as Val pricked his nuts with the tips of his claws. “You’ve got it, babe.”

Satisfied, Val went to jerking him off again—massaging his balls instead of tormenting them. No doubt Vox would still use it to make him do some things when he didn’t want to do them, but Val could reach up and snatch the crown away right now. Val kissed him as Vox came into his hand, enjoying the desperate way Vox tried to inhale him when it happened.

And, while he was distracted, Val took the crown from his head and placed it on his own. “Can I breed you and pretend I’m sucking milk from your tits?”

“Of course,” Vox said, before his eyes went wide. “Wait. What? Val—”

Despite his words, he didn’t fight Val off as he was stripped of his pants, as Val sucked his chest, as Val began to work him open. He opened himself wide.

“Oh, this isn’t fair.”

“I’ll keep in mind you prefer to fight me off a bit more before we do things like this.” Val giggled. “But fair is fair, mi luz.”

Vox moaned as Val sucked his nipples to peaks. “I-I-I guess… fuuuck…”

Chuckling, Val dove in.

Unfortunately, after all the fun they had, they realized it didn’t actually work on anyone else. It was a curse. On them.

Val could think of worse ones. Especially when he could wear the crown as well.
