Prideful isn't she?

Summary:

Mabel tells Pacifica it's Pride Month. Pacifica is clueless on the matter. In more ways then one.

Work Text:

"Do you know what month it is Pacifica?"

"Um, June?" Pacifica couldn't help raise her eyebrows. Of course, she would know what month it is. After spending her entire life being prepared for every event and meeting deem necessary, how could she forget a single month?

Her eyes were calculating the layout of a castle theme course while her club was raised an hair off the ground. Originally Pacifica was expecting to decimate Miss Sunshine and Rainbows over here. To be fair, she was doing a adept job already. Yet, Mabel was doing better than she'd hoped. Unfortunately, she was also more chatty than she should be, but that was one thing Pacifica should have saw coming.

"No Silly. It's Pride Month!" Mabel made a big exclamation with her arms wide out. There so much energy in her voice, Pacifica could have sworn it physically pushed her slightly as she hit her ball. Watching with no great pleasure as the small purple mini golf ball misses the goal entirely.

"Pride what?" Pacifica yelled more than asked. The only one here who seemed prideful was Mabel. Pacifica couldn't tell what was worse. The fact that she caused her to miss or that there was a wide goofy smile on that brunette's face. Pacifica doesn't know why—how is started or why it hadn't ended—she couldn't get the smile put of her mind. Sometimes it showed up in her dreams. Even in her privacy, Mabel Pines managed to mock her existence via her existence.

"Pride Month. You know what Pride is right?" Mabel was tilting her head at her. Staring at her with eyes that shared the same hue as chocolate. Long hair flowing down her shoulders. A weird sensation formed in Pacifica's chest. Why did hate feel different with her? It only adds to her annoyance.

"Something we both have but I'm the one who's pride is actually deserved," Pacifica said while crossing her arms. Glaring at her rival. Maybe she wasn't doing a well enough job or Mabel didn't care. Her rival wore the same annoying smile as she got closer to her.

Getting right up into her face. Warmth blooms in Pacifica's cheeks. A intense amount of loathing flows through her. So intense that it doesn't feel right. Meanwhile, Mabel's smile grows larger.

"Oh well, you'll figure it out later," Mabel said, turning her back to her. What the heck was that supposed to mean? And what was all that about anyways? Pacifica went back to Sergei, her heart rapidly beating in what she could only assume was humiliation.
