Work Text:
After taking advantage of one of my days on the surface to walk around and talk with other islanders with Nacho, I found myself back inside the reactor, specifically in Nacho's room.
My plans right now were to take care of Nacho, get him ready for bed, and then continue working on the cure for radiation poisoning, which I was very close to achieving. I would have loved to work straight through until I found the cure, but now that I'm a father, I couldn't do that. I had to take care of Nacho, especially after everything that had happened.
People are trying to hurt him, Dark Cucurucho is trying to kidnap him, Nacho's own mother had traded him just to gain powers… I couldn't trust anyone anymore. They're all greedy. Everyone wants to hurt both my son and me.
The only person I could fully trust right now is Quackity. Although he didn't entirely like my decision to adopt Nacho, he respects it and helps me with everything I need. I just hope he never betrays me like the rest did, because it would drive me even crazier, if that 's possible.
“Dada, are you listening to me?” Nacho asked, looking at me annoyed.
“I’m sorry, Nacho, I was thinking about something else. I’m really tired and I’m having trouble concentrating” I apologized to the little boy.
“You’re always tired, right? Is it from playing with green stuff like Mommy?” he asked curious.
“No, because I’m responsible, not like Katie. I guess I’m tired because I spend so much time in the lab and I’m not used to being outside that much” I lied to the albino.
I knew perfectly well why I felt so weak and tired. It had been months since I’d drunk blood as regularly as I should have, and the side effects were becoming more and more visible day by day. Now I felt worse than ever. I was fainting too often, I had no strength, I was having trouble concentrating, I was paler than usual, the dark circles under my eyes had grown and become even darker… But I still hadn’t planned on drinking blood.
I'd lost track of when I'd last drunk blood. I had several bags of blood that both Graf and Nexe had donated so I wouldn't have to bite anyone, but they were all gone, and I was too embarrassed to ask them for more. It wasn't their fault I had this disease, and I didn't like that they had to go to so much trouble to keep me healthy. I didn't want to be a burden to anyone.
Suddenly, I felt the blood drain from my body and a chill settle in. I decided to sit down on Nacho's bed, since this feeling is usually not good.
While I was lost in thought, Nacho had already put on his pajamas by himself and was now rummaging through one of his bookshelves.
“Dada, can you read me this bedtime book?” the little boy asked as he sat down next to me on the bed with a book on his lap.
“Of course” I said as I pulled back the pink sheets so he could get in and tucked him in before I started reading him the story.
Tiredness was starting to get to me more and more, and my hands began to tremble slightly as I held Nacho’s book. Maybe I should take a nap once Nacho falls asleep.
Just as I thought about resting, a message came through on the intercom.
Quackity: Hiiii, are you in the reactor?
Quackity: I'm close, and it's been a while since we've seen each other, we should met.
"Just a second, Nacho, I have to answer a message," I told the boy.
I put Nacho's book down on the bed and grabbed the intercom with my trembling hands to answer him, letting out a sigh. I really wanted to sleep, but I also missed the Mexican boy a lot. One more effort and I could rest, I said to me
Needyourblood: I'm in Nacho's room.
Needyourblood: Come in and I'll unlock the door for you.
I put the intercom in my pocket and picked up Nacho's book again.
"Nacho, Quackity is coming now. If you want, he can read you the story tonight because Dada is very tired" I told the boy while stroking his hair.
"YAY QUACKITY IS COMING!" Nacho said excitedly.
It wasn't long before I heard Quackity greet me from behind the door.
"Hiii, Multi, I'm here" Quackity said from behind the door.
"Coming" I replied, slowly getting up from Nacho's bed to go open the door.
I walked to the door and unlocked it so the dark-haired boy could enter the room. As soon as Quackity came in, Nacho jumped out of bed and ran to hug him, almost knocking me over.
"HIII" the little boy exclaimed.
"Hiii Nacho, how are you?" the Mexican asked as he crouched down to be at the albino's eye level.
“Dada told me you were going to read me a bedtime story today because he’s tired” Nacho said to Quackity, making him turn to look at me intently.
“Sure, what book do you want me to read to you?” the dark-haired boy asked.
Nacho ran to his bed to grab the book and show it to him.
“If you want Quackity to read you the bedtime story, you have to get in bed first” I told the boy as I approached his bed and carefully sat down on it.
“Okay, Dada” Nacho said, getting into bed and then covering himself with the pink sheets.
Quackity sat next to me, took Nacho’s book, and began to read aloud. While I listened to him read, I gently stroked Nacho’s hair to help him fall asleep, trying to control my trembling hand so as not to disturb the little one.
After a while, the Mexican finished reading the book, and Nacho finally fell asleep.
"He's asleep now, don't make any noise, let's go before he wakes up" I whispered to the dark-haired man.
"Dobranoc" I whispered to Nacho, then kissed his forehead and shakily got out of the bed.
We started walking toward the door, and with each step I felt worse. My ears began to ring, and my vision started to blur again; I was going to faint at any moment.
Quackity opened the door for me, and I left the room. I didn't feel capable of going downstairs right now, so I leaned against the wall to let the winged man know that I preferred to talk there, even though it wasn't the best or most comfortable place to do so, and I saw it reflected in the dark-haired man's expression when he saw me leaning against the wall.
“Were you sleeping up the north house the whole time, or what did you do these past few days?” I asked the boy.
“Yeah, I just woke up a few hours ago. Is there any news, or has anything happened that I should know about?” he asked, though I could barely hear what he was saying because my head started spinning and the ringing in my ears intensified.
“Uh… yeah, of course, you’re always there” I replied awkwardly, rubbing my head to try to hide my discomfort. “I need to bring you up to date, a lot has… a lot has happened”
Quackity noticed the change instantly. He straightened his previously relaxed posture and reached out toward me, hesitant, not quite touching me yet.
“Multi, are you okay? You don’t…” the Mexican started to say before I cut him off mid-sentence.
“No… it’s nothing, it… it happens to me a lot… just give me a minute, I…” I said, not finishing the sentence. My legs, which had been trembling, finally gave way under my weight, and my vision blurred completely. I cursed inwardly as I began to fall forward.
I mentally braced myself for an impact that never came, as a pair of strong arms roughly wrapped around me, stopping my fall in its tracks. The sudden sensation of a warm body against mine startled me. I wasn’t used to physical contact, especially in the state I was in. Normally, when I fainted, people didn’t even try to catch me, they just let me hit the ground.
I tried to focus my eyes, but the throbbing in my head had blurred my vision. I felt Quackity gently turn me onto my back with unexpected tenderness.
“Multi, can you hear me? What’s wrong? I’m getting really scared, you look so pale” He said, placing one of his hands on my face, causing a ticklish sensation that, far from bothering me, I liked more than I was willing to admit.
I didn’t know if it was because of the sudden show of affection or because of my condition, but breathing was becoming increasingly difficult. Now, I had to breathe rapidly through my mouth, and I didn’t have much time left conscious.
“I…” I began to explain until finally everything went black and I fainted.

Little by little, I began to regain consciousness. I was no longer on the ground, but on a soft, warm surface, probably a bed, but still on Quackity's warm body. My head rested on his chest as he held me in that position, his arms gently stroking my back with one of them, his wings enveloping us both protectively, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere.
I swallowed hard. A thirst for blood burned in my throat, the inevitable had finally arrived. All I wanted in that moment was to sink deeper into the warmth emanating from the dark-haired man's body, to let myself be enveloped until the cold and the thirst vanished.
"I...I'm so hungry..." I murmured, with my voice hoarse and broken.
In the midst of the fog, which was beginning to dissipate, my mind recalled the obvious, I hadn't drunk blood in far too long, not to mention how often I should have been eating, and this neglect act was now catching up with me. Before, I would only faint for a few minutes and wake up as if nothing had happened, but now my body decided it was enough and cursed me with the thirst for blood.
Quackity slowly adjusted my body, shifting all my weight against him, and carefully moved my head so that it rested in the hollow between his neck and shoulder.
Bad mistake. My fangs began to descend as I felt the warm pulse circulating in his neck.
"P-please stay away, I don't want to hurt you" I said, struggling to try and separate myself from the dark-haired man's body without much effort.
“How long has it been since you drank blood? Graf told me everything, he said it’s been a long time since you asked him for blood, and he came to talk to me because he was worried about your health” the Mexican boy said, pulling me slightly away from him to look me in the eyes.
“I… I don’t want to be a burden to anyone. I’m already looking into other options so I don’t hurt or inconvenience anyone again” I replied, with my voice trembling.
“You didn’t answer my question, Multi” Quackity confronted me.
“The last time must have been about three weeks ago” I confessed, embarrassed.
“Bite me and drink from me, I don’t want to see you like this, you look very sick, or don’t you realize?” he replied, tears welling in his eyes.
“I can’t bite you. I can’t do that to you, not to you, Kaczuszko, I could kill you, and I would never forgive myself” I said, trying to break free from the Mexican’s grip.
“And I can’t let you die, you can’t leave me alone” he began, placing my head back in the crook of his shoulder and neck. “Do it, I trust you” he finished.
We stared at each other for a few seconds until the shorter one decided to close the distance between our faces and kiss me. I remained still for a few seconds before deciding to return the kiss, moving my body closer to his.
When we finally separated, he moved me slightly away from his body to look me directly in the eyes.
“I know you won’t hurt me, please bite me, and if you don’t feel comfortable, just drink what you need to regain some vitality, and then you can draw my blood in bags like you did with Nexe or Graf so you don’t risk killing me, which I know you won’t do, but I’m reminding you just in case” he said, swapping one of the arms he was holding me with for one of his wings so he could stroke my dreadlocks.
“Okay, just let me drink for a minute, then move me away, that’ll be enough” I replied, looking down.
With effort, I brought my head closer to his neck, feeling the urge to bite him grow stronger. Quackity, on the other hand, moved the hand that had been stroking my hair to my back to hold me more firmly.
“I’ll try to be as gentle as possible, I promise” I said just before sinking my fangs into his neck.
I began to drink his blood almost without spilling a drop in the process, I felt as little by little the fog in my head dissipated completely along with the discomfort and some of my tiredness.
A minute passed, and I felt Quackity's hands grip my arms firmly, and gently pulling me back.
"The minute's up, I'm fine, but you told me to let you know after that time, and I don't want to lie to you, even if it's for your own good" the Mexican whispered in my ear.
I retracted my fangs and stepped back from the man, placing my hand on the wound in his neck to stop the bleeding.
"Thank you, really" I began sincerely. "I'll get some bandages for your neck, don't move," I said, starting to stand, still holding his neck.
He placed his hand over mine, preventing me from moving it and leaving.
"I'll come with you, so you can draw the blood" he said, getting up after me.
"Okay, follow me," I said, removing my hand from his neck so he could place his on the wound.
We went down the stairs from my office. Even now, I realized he carried me in his arms to the bed Nacho had set up in my office while I was unconscious. I approached the door and I unlocked it to enter the operating room.
“Sit on the examination table, I’m going to get the things to cure you” I said as I started rummaging through the drawers.
The hybrid sat on the table, resting his wings on it, watching me closely to see everything I did.
“You can take your hand away from the wound now, I’m going to clean it” I said as I placed the instruments next to him on the table.
The dark-haired man moved his hand away. I soaked a gauze pad in saline solution and began cleaning the wound, then I grabbed a bandage and covered it to prevent infection. As soon as I finished applying the bandage, I gave him a soft kiss where the wound was and stepped back a little.
“Are you sure you feel well enough to have your blood drawn? I don’t want to push you to the limit” I asked the boy.
“I’m fine, unlike you, You need to eat, draw my blood now” the Mexican said, rolling his eyes.
“Sorry for worrying about you, kurwa” I replied as I stepped back to grab a vial and a bag for the blood draw. “Give me your arm, please” I asked as I approached him again.
The hybrid obediently extended his arm. I disinfected the area where I was going to place the vial, then inserted the needle and began the blood draw.
“Thank you” I whispered as I placed a kiss on his forehead and gently put my hand on his waist.
“I would do anything for you, and you know it” he replied.
“I love you, Kaczuszko” I confessed.
“I love you more” he said while he grabbed my face with both hands and gave me a passionate kiss on my lips, which I immediately returned.
