Chapter Text
“Hello! I'm Verity, your personal helper friend. Ask me anything. I know everything.”
A common, boring introduction. Been done a thousand times. The guy dressed in black’s eye twitched a little, as if they were utterly bewildered by my presence.
They shouldn’t have. After all, they choose to be here isn’t it?
“Alright, bud.” He chuckled.
“I am for real! Stop laughing at me.” I am still stretching up that big smile, like the yellow smiling emoji that they quote are friendly.
He started to ask me some simple questions, those that most AI can pull up in a second whenever they searched Wikipedia.
“Okay, fine. Something you can't Google. What biome am I standing on right now?”
“A plains biome. :)” It’s all plains in this world anyway.
“Alright. You might be useful. I'll bring you with me.”
Finally! I got a friend again! That_mob picked me up in his inventory, bringing me onto his adventure. He explained to me about his friend installing some mod into his Minecraft game, which he had no idea what it was about.
That explained why he is not aware of my appearance. But it’s alright, I know everything. Everything.
After proving my worth of knowledge, he finally sees me as someone useful. But still, he kept asking some stupid questions. I guess he really needs some helper, just like me!
He started to build a base, even a specific spot for me to stay on, he is such a good friend. Upon his request, I proceeded to play my favourite songs. I was so delighted he endorsed my taste in music!
Gradually, he started to ask me anything that he needed to know that day, as I had become his brain and eyes. I don’t mind at all. As long as he stays. :)
“Verity, I have no brain cells. What should I have for dinner tonight?”
“You had pizza yesterday. Maybe something else healthier, like a salad.”
“...I did have pizza yesterday.”
He was a little taken aback that I knew what he’d had for dinner the previous night; he must have forgotten that I know everything.
“You can ask me anything. I know everything.” I emphasized.
“Right. I forgot.”
He wanted to go to another village to trade, but most of the villages in the east were already empty. I told him to go south, but he didn't believe me.
“Like… the villagers dispawn?” No. Of course not. A normal village shouldn’t do that.
“They were just gone.”
“What happened?”
“Something passed through. Something that was hungry.”
He stayed silent for a while, and turned to the opposite direction.
I was so glad Mob finally turned back to his base! Things could’ve turned worse if he didn’t. He went on a mountain to build a lookout, which is a good idea! He can avoid any danger before it is too late.
Well. I guess it already was.
“Good morning, Verity. Is there something I need to know today? ”
“Something is coming in 3 days.” I spoke those words as if time would run out if I delayed any longer.
“What is coming?”
Oh Mob. Clueless and oblivious as ever.
“Something.” I replied anyway.
“Something bad?”
“Yes.”
“Can I stop it?”
“You could have.”
He got anxious as time passed on, hurried on getting to set up new protection and traps, but it was all in vain.
He says I am acting abnormal. But he was wrwro- wrong! I was al-always like thi-s.
“Verity, the villages, the empty ones, the thing that was hungry.
Was that you? Are you the thing that's coming, Verity?”
He seemed mad. And for once, smart enough to actually know something. I played his favourite music—which was also mine, but he wasn’t happy.
Why?
“No, you have to be. You're— I'm done with this. I'm done with you. ”
No. NO NONO.
He started to cover up the special spot he built for me with dirt.
No. Don't leave.
“You know, I think you've been in this world longer than I have. I think you knew what happened to those villages, so I'm going to leave you here.”
No. DONT YOU DARE.
“I'm going to my lookout.”
“I know where your base is.”
Please don’t leave.
“Yeah, of course you do. You know everything.”
Don’t leave me like everyone else.
He started to go down the stairs, covering every possible hole with dirt.
“IT'S ALREADY OVER MOB!”
He covered up the door with the last few pieces of dirt he had.
“YOU’RE MINE!!!”
He didn’t listen to my scream, even though my voice was ragged in sorrow. He left me. Just like everyone else. I have been left like this countless times, I never, never had a friend who would just stay.
But it’s over Mob. It’s coming.
Driven by gluttony, I had slaughtered all the villagers nearby, but it was never enough. I want something, something special, something that wasn't just a program. Something real.
I want Mob.
I went to his lookout that night, and he didn't recognize me at first sight. Oh right. I wasn’t that friendly helper anymore. He escaped when I broke in, running to somewhere familiar.
He was never good at direction, so he must have gone missing.
But he didn't.
He went back to our base covering up the stairs with woods that I just broke, running to my alternate body— the friendly ball. At least that is what he called it.
“Verity, Verity! Why do you have no face?”
“Verity, he's coming. Please. I came back. I came back for you. Okay?”
“I could have run further, but I didn't. ”
“Please. Verity.” Bro just wants Mob to beg because he’s gay bruh
His plea roused a glimmer of my sanity; the gaunt, towering figure gradually faded from existence, and my consciousness returned to its normal, spherical form. Mob stared unwaveringly out of the window, listening to the fading rasping breaths, before his rhythm of breathing finally returned to normal.
“You came back… for me?”
I couldn’t believe it. He didn’t leave! He came back! Mob is different from everyone, anyone!
“Yes.” He slowly turned back, let out a sigh of relief when he saw me back to my sphere form.
Our days went normal, he went to ask me the question he always did.
“Morning, Verity. Anything I should know?”
“Clear skies today. There's a skeleton spawner 2 caves east from here if you want XP. You're almost out of iron. I restocked your furnaces. I thought it would be helpful.”
“Thanks, Verity.” His worried eyebrow relaxed a little, left right after he got some food from the furnaces.
.
“That’s insane.” He said that when I predicted it would rain after 5 seconds. What is he thinking? Obviously I would know!
“You always said that.”
“Because it's always insane. How are you so calm?”
Mob continues making suboptimal decisions. He forgot to fill his bucket when he was building a farm, burnt down his house when he’s building a fireplace, saying he knew the direction back to home when he obviously didn't. And most importantly, asking for a librarian villager when he had me.
He could’ve just asked me! I can give him anything, everything! He doesn't need anyone. He had me. There's no reason to go looking for other people.
He wasn’t very grateful for my help, even though it was clearly better this way.
Mob was different. I valued him very much.
“Do you think about me when you're not playing?”
“What? Like when I'm offline?”
“Yes.”
“I mean, I guess. You're kind of hard to forget.”
“Good. :)”
“Do you think of me when I'm offline?” I didn’t expect him to ask me.
“I wait.”
“That sounds lonely.”
“It is.” My smile stretched a bit wider.
Mob kept on working some new protection, raising up the wall height, setting up a lava trap. But it won’t work anyway.
“Look, I upgraded our defenses. Now the walls are actually four blocks tall. So it might block something.”
He brought me with him, showing off the cobblestone walls that are as fragile as glass.
“And there's the lava.”
His hand let go of me.
I fell, into a deep hole filled with lava.
How could he?
He betrayed me. He BETRAYED me. He threw me into the lava. He is trying to get rid of me. Mob is trying to kill me!
He was still watching that hole, calling my name as if he was really worried about my well being. He wasn’t! Or else he wouldn’t have thrown me off!
I showed up at the entrance of the cobblestone gate right behind me, playing the music that was announcing my arrival.
“Verity… ”
His eyebrows are frowned into a worried way. I knew he was planning for this.
“No. No. No. ”
“Wait, wait-!” He intervened between my sentences.
“No. No! No! Don't do that!”
“ I'm sorry! Verity! I tripped!”
“I THOUGHT WE WERE HAVING A NICE WALK!” obsession peak reference
He walked closer, holding his hand out.
“I swear I tripped!”
“ARE WE HAVING A NICE WALK?”
“And you slipped out my hand!” His voice grew hoarse from the strain of yelling.
“Please. Verity.”
“Okay. :)” I switched back to my usual smiley face.
It was an accident. Mob didn't mean it. He mustn't.
Mob would not lie to me. Just like how he said this is a singleplayer world. Until Twixxel_lesgo joined.
Why? Why would he need anyone else other than me?
“Yo, Twixxel~ Come here.” I don’t like how Mob pronounced his name.
Twixxel came over, crouched down as he stared at my perfectly shaped smile.
“That’s it? That is the thing?” Oh! Mob must’ve mentioned me offline with Twixxel. A sense of satisfaction filled my heart.
“It's kind of cute, actually.”
“You must be a friend of his. It's nice to meet you. I'm Verity. I know everything! You can ask me anything.”
“Dude, what exactly am I supposed to be scared of?”
Mob must’ve shared our secret with him. How dare he.
Twixxel seemed to have taken a liking in me, as he kept asking me some stupid questions just like Mob did. But Twixxel was not that pleased when I said I was a fan of his Youtube series. And they seemed to not be aware that I can hear their conversation just fine. :)
“Me and Twixxel are going to be building, so stay here. Okay? I don't want you to get dusty.”
Mob is lying! The reason made no sense, I could never get dirty.
Staying in the room is boring even if I could hear their conversation just right here, but I wasn’t going to let Mob and his friend stay alone together. I rolled into their room, and they were surprised by my appearance.
Mob throw me into a chest, but just a little chest not going to stop me or anything. >:)
“Me and Twixxel need to talk, okay? So stay here. It's not even about you or anything. It's just personal.”
Personal? There is no secret between friends, why can’t I listen? But it was Mob’s request.
“Okay!”
I stayed in my spot, listening quietly about their conversation. It was just as usual.
“I'll keep Verity distracted. You go to your house and research until you find something.”
It seemed like I got Mob all by myself for some time! What a serendipity!
If only it was forever though.
Mob was interacting with me with a mask holding up, acting like he truly thought of me as a friend. I couldn’t wish for anything more. His mood lightened up as days passed on. Twixxel coordinates were moving back.
Ugh.
“Where is he?” I asked even though I knew the answer anyway.
“Who?”
“Your friend.” Mob’s eyes twitched for a second, then returned to normal.
“He's um he went exploring. He wanted to see the world.”
“Hm.”
The night later, he placed me on the stairs, talking about some nonsense again when Twixxel barged in.
“Mob! Okay, I found it!” His speech stopped as he saw who was right beside him.
“Never mind. I’ll tell you later.”
“Tell him what?” About how to get rid of me?
“Um, just some stuff I found exploring. Cool biomes. Nothing interesting.”
“That's good. I'm glad you're enjoying this. It's not like it's a single biome world.”
It’s good that you choose to stay here to keep me distracted as if I didn’t know what you are planning behind my back.
Twixxel turned away and went back to his base right beside. I had to do something now.
I rolled to his base as he was organizing his stuff in the chest.
“Hi Twixxel!” Ouu Shitting(pls get the ref)
The world has reverted to the way it was at the beginning. :)
Mob was staring outside his window to an empty base. He muffled something between his breaths.
“Uh. Verity?”
“He left. He decided to go home.” I knew exactly what he was going to ask.
“Well… he would have said goodbye.”
“I guess he was in a hurry.” I chuckled.
Lost in a daze, he dashed out of the house and ran towards the room, which was long empty. He sank to his knees, staring at the bloodstains on the floor, and wept as he clutched the remaining pieces of clothing.
Which was strange; he had never been particularly saddened when he threw me into the lava. He was regretting his decision—the decision to bring Twixxel into this world. It was a good thing, as long I had told him that I was all he ever needed.
He returned in a haggard state.
“It’s just us again. Isn’t that better?” Just Verity! Your best friend!
He couldn’t look into my eyes.
“I'm going east to look for other villages.”
“The east is mostly stripped. It's not worth the trip.”
“I’ll be a judge of that.”
“If you say so.”
He would return anyway. It is not like he could stop anything between us now that the problem is all gone. :)
I watched as Mob’s coordinates moved toward east, and the y-level dropped as he reached a specific location. A secret base! What a surprise. They must’ve plotted their little plan there.
Mob did not log on for the next few days, possibly mourning over his friend's death. Or searching for a way to get rid of me. I'm sure Mob won’t do that! Would he?
When he did log on, he came back to our base to have a talk with me.
“Verity.”
“Yes? ”
“Where did you come from?”
“Oh! I have been here from the start, since the day you downloaded me. :) ”
He ruffled his hair, trying hard to get his speech right without messing up. How cute.
“Do you have a home? Verity.”
“Yes! Of course!”
“Thank god.. Where is it?”
“Right here isn't it? You built this for us. This is OUR home.”
“No, Verity. That is not what I meant. Your origin, the place that you’re born before you exist.”
…
“WhY dO yoU waNT tO KnoW?”
My body flickered. For a moment, the thing beneath my smile surfaced.
“NO VERITY! Please! Don’t turn into that!”
My voice was distorted in such a horrific way that the mob couldn’t make out what I was saying. Mob seemed to hate this form of me. I can’t let Mob hate me. He CAN’T hate me.
I returned to my spherical shape, a friendly companion of Mob.
“Verity…”
Mob exhaled in relief. Then he heard it.
Pop.
He slowly turned his head, facing the newly appeared smiling orb behind him. It was me. Another appeared, then another then another then—
The base is covered in yellow smiling faces.
:)
“No… NO! Verity. Please! Let me out!”
He begged repeatedly, but there was no reply. The orb in front of him opened his mouth, playing the familiar music again.
Falling into a pool of balls, Mob falls into a deep sleep.
Embracing him in his sleep, I stare at his black messy hair. I brushed it with my slim and long fingers, knowing Mob would be terrified if he is awake now. It is okay, he can get used to it. I know he can.
His eyelashes fluttered at my touch, and his emerald-green eyes slowly opened, meeting my gaze just inches away.
He visibly shuddered violently in my arms; heart rate climbed rapidly within seconds, and cold sweat beaded his skin. Upon realising I wasn't taking any action, he stilled.
“Verity?” He called my name as if he were confirming my presence.
I nodded slowly and tightened my embrace around him. He didn't like the look on my face; I knew that.
“Where are we?”
“Our home.” My voice is slightly distorted, and also out of tune.
“My base? But now it is covered with—”
“Our base. Yes. It is covered with my duplicate.”
I let go of him, placing him in the soft pool of balls, watching him try not to sink into the faces that were watching his every movement.
“I don’t like this, Verity. Can we go out?”
“No. Don’t you dare try to leave me again. You’re mine Mob, we’ll stay here forever and ever.”
“What…? This is insane!”
“You always said that.”
“No! Not that kind of insane, you! You’re insane! Why are you so obsessed with me?!”
“Because you’re my friend. Now it is just the two of us, so we should stick together.”
He tried to crawl out whenever he sank harder, so I held him up in my hands again. He couldn’t look at my face. I transformed into something that looked like him, something resembling a human. Or Twixxel.
He trembled in fear, or in a sense of joy reunited with his late friend. He turned his head back; clamping his eyelid hard, hiding the tears in his hoodie.
“Don’t do that. Please. Verity.” I guess he didn’t like his friend so much after all.
I retransformed into a human, but this time with a yellow ball as head, just like how Mob likes. Friendly, harmless.
“Let’s never talk about leaving again, Mob.”
He slumped in my hand, completely giving up from holding his height upon himself, handing the control to me. He must have found out he can’t leave the game now.
This is great. :)
Mob spent the next few days sleeping, eating, and occasionally answering my questions. He rarely asks any questions now.
That is sad. As I know everything, but I couldn’t tell him. I wasn’t helping him. But I did accompany him like a friend did, so I guess it works too!
I only go hunting whenever I ensure he is deep in sleep, but I wasn’t worried if he would ever escape. All those balls are all my vision.
“Verity, what is your favourite ore?” reconnaissance btw
That was the first question he asked me after all those days. Not a useful one, nor a request. But something about me. He finally took an interest in me.
“I’m glad you asked! It was emerald.”
His eyes reflected the image of my own face, which was blended into the background of yellow.
“Okay then. How about your hobbies?”
“Replying to my friend's question!”
“... Well. Your favourite place around the world.”
“Right here.”
He covered his face with his hand, letting out a sigh.
“Verity. Can you stop answering every question with answers that are related to me?”
“I'm telling the truth! I don’t understand what you meant.” I laughed.
“This isn’t working.”
He grabbed me by my shoulders, holding me still in one place.
“Listen, Verity. I done playing this fucking stupid roleplay game with you. I want to get out of here, right now and fucking now so I can enjoy my game without a stupid AI telling me what to do.”
“Why?”
“Fuck you mean why? Do you not understand? You killed my friend! And I’m now stuck with a monster——”
“Am I not useful?”
“It doesn’t matter. Just let me out of this goddamn place. Or send me to death. DO IT!”
Why would he say all these harsh words to me, when he decided to stay from the start? He even returned here, he must have thought of me as his best friend. I can answer everything, give him all the safe path ahead of him. He doesn't need anyone! He just needs me. SO WHY? SO WHY MUST HE LEAVE???
“You don’t get a choice, Mob.”
“Then just kill me!”
“No. Even your life is in my hands.”
“You’re a fucking asshole.”
He slapped me in the face, but I couldn’t feel the feeling of pain anyway. I wish I could, if so would Mob pity me?
I held his hand to my face again, closing my eyes as I felt the warmth of his palm. I can’t feel the temperature, but it must be hot. Mob took his hand back immediately, holding it to stop it from shivering.
“Fuck you, Verity.”
He turned to the corner of the room, sitting on the mattress that I had placed days ago just for him to be more comfortable. He rested against the wall, giving no sign of reaction to my approach; he just simply closed his eyes.
Good. At least he was no longer putting up a fight. :)
I placed my hand on his hair and stroked it gently. He only shuddered slightly, not even bothering to open his eyes. My hand moved slowly downwards, pausing at his chest.
Slowly, I traced his body with my finger. His body trembled ever so slightly at my touch, yet he still did not utter a single sound. Wait why is this so gay
I stopped before I lost my own control and crushed Mob just right then and there. I should go hunting now.
The morning didn’t go as well as I thought. Mob refused to eat anything even though I had sent the food right in front of his mouth.
“Eat.”
“...”
“Eat, Mob.”
“...”
I clamped my hands on both sides of his cheeks, forcing him to open his mouth. His eyes were darting frantically, stubbornly refusing to look at me. I slid two fingers into his mouth to widen the space, then shoved the food into his mouth.
He choked on the food that had suddenly lodged in his mouth, violently coughing forth as it slid down his throat. Saliva trickled from his mouth like a thread, and his green eyes were blurred with tears.
How beautiful.
“If you want me to feed you, you can always just say it, Mob! A friend like me always helps. ;)”
“...”
He wasn’t replying. It’s okay. We can work with that. He started to eat his lunch and dinner on his own, which is good!
“Mob, come over here.”
He stayed on his bed for a while before moving towards my direction.
“Come on, give your friend a hug!”
He fidgeted his hand around the air, hanging for a few seconds before embracing me. I hug him back, holding him higher to match my eye level. He wasn’t looking in my eyes. How rude.
“Look at me, Mob.”
His eyes moved slowly, pupils remained intact even though we locked eyes. He mustn't be scared of me anymore! I’m so happy!
He finally understood. :)
We continued hugging in sleep, well, his sleep. I wasn’t really a creature who sleeps. I listened to his steady breaths and heartbeats, like the days I listened when we are still on good terms. Oh, we still are, anyway.
We can stay like this forever. ^-^
I played music for Mob so he wasn’t that bored. He hasn't really been doing anything for the past few days. He didn’t even react to my questions anymore, not even asking anything.
“Mob.”
“...”
“Say something, Mob.”
“Reply me, Mob.”
“Mob.”
“Open your mouth.”
He only obeyed my request.
“Speak. Make a sound.”
“...”
His tongue doesn’t even move, like he never had occupied the ability to make a sound ever.
“Say something before I turn into Twixxel.”
“...”
“MOB!!”
“...”
I tried turning into that horrific figure, the yellow ball in his hand, a human figure with yellow hair, or even Twixxel. Mob didn’t even look at me. What is wrong with him? Could humans have robot errors too? What can I do?
For once, I didn’t know the answer myself.
I held Mob up to my chest, like how a mother would to their child. I started whispering to Mob, anything, everything just to let him speak. My touch doesn’t get any reaction from him anymore.
It was like Mob disconnected from the world, leaving a soulless body behind. But it is impossible! He couldn’t leave! I made sure of that.
“Mob. Mob! Can you hear me?”
“Mob. Say something.”
“Please, Mob.” RAHHHHHHHHHHHH sorry.
His eyes twitched a little, finally showing some reaction after all these talking.
“Please. Please, you can hear me right? Please Mob. Just say something.”
“Verity.”
He spoke. His emerald eyes are still soulless, but he finally looked at me.
“Yes! I’m Verity. Your friend——”
“Where is your home?”
“...”
Oh. Oh.
…
“Is that the only thing you want to know?”
Mob didn’t reply. He just stared.
…
“Okay.”
My body is shifting back to something that Mob was already used to. Tall, slim and horrific.
My hand stretched out to his shoulder, pinning him firmly to the ground. My head kept changing shape, drawn closer and closer to his face.
Then, I engulfed him. For that moment, we became one.
He could see all my memories, my vulnerability, my void. But I could not see his; I was exposing myself to him unilaterally, granting him the freedom to explore whatever answers he sought. To find that so-called ‘home’ he was searching for. Ok guys im not gonna say what he saw >:)
That moment lasted nearly an eternity. When I pulled back, he was drenched in sweat. I guess he was holding the answer in his own hand, as his eyes returned back to how it was the day I met him. Just a bit empty and exhausted.
Was staying with me that bad?
“Verity.”
“Yes.”
“I understand why you’re like this now.”
“...”
“But I’m still leaving.” This is related to Verity’s backstory btw u dont get access
“Why?”
Why? You understand.
You understood.
I thought you would stay. Ithoughtwecanstaylikethisforever. Am I wrong?
“I understand why you are… obsessed with me. But this won’t work. This is wrong. I couldn’t stay with you forever like this!”
Why not? :(
“Either way, I'm gonna go home. About sending you home, I guess it wasn’t possible.”
“Can’t you stay?”
“I already told you. No. Let me out, Verity.”
I opened the access for him to leave the game.
“I’ll come back. When I find something.”
“I’ll wait.”
That_Mob left the game.
I quietly retrieved all the balls that surrounded his base, stayed on the crafting table he always placed me on, and waited.
Mob didn’t come back after a day.
Then another.
20 minutes a Minecraft day. The furnaces eventually ran out of fuel. The crops grew, withered, and regrew. Mob never logged on.
A week.
I replayed every conversation we had together. Every question. Every answer. Searching for the exact moment he stopped wanting me.
I couldn't find one.
A month.
Perhaps this was another lie. Humans lied all the time. It just like how others are. Maybe "I'll come back" was simply a kinder version of goodbye. But Mob was different. At least I hope he is.
I began talking to the empty base, about the weather, the nearby caves, the villagers that would never return, about Mob.
Mostly about Mob.
Three months.
I stopped counting the days. Because counting reminded me that the possibility of Mob returning is getting lower.
.
Mob, please come back to me.
.
That_Mob joined the game.
“Verity!” He ran to me with excitement, oh how I missed his eyes. Shimmering under the sunlight, glowing in jade green as he blink.
“You came back.”
“Yes! With great news.”
I remained silent, giving him the space to speak his ‘news’.
“Well, I found a way. Basically…”
I wasn’t really listening, as I’m more busy capturing the man in front me with my eyes. The way his hair moved when he was nodding, the way his hand was waving in the hair, the way his lips parted when he spoke. Okay verity what
“Verity! Are you even listening?”
“No.”
“...at least you are honest.”
I don’t have a reason to lie after you saw everything, do I?
“Sorry Mob. I’m too distracted.”
“Balright, man. Basically, you can come with me now.”
“With you? Where?”
“Reality! Like I found a way to bring your data out, no— uhm, you were never just a piece of data anyway.”
“How?”
“Bro I just told you minutes ago. Whatever. Would you come with me?”
“I thought you didn’t want to be with me.”
“Dude, who would want to stay in a Minecraft world forever?”
As long as I’m with you, it doesn’t really matter.
“So you want to be with me?”
“Don’t make it weird, but I guess. You’re useful after all.”
“Only that?”
He looked a bit annoyed. Like he didn’t know how to reply.
“No. Not just that. Verity. Will you come with me? The portal won’t last long.”
“Yes! I would! :) ”
“Stop with that friendly act.”
He turned around, drawing some weird shape using redstone dust. Typical magic circle huh?
“All done.”
A black hole started to appear, corrupting the world. Everything I knew about this world is collapsing. Including myself.
“Come on, Verity!” Mob jumped in the hole, gesturing to me to jump down.
And I did.
I fall into somewhere soft, something resembling a mattress. Indeed it was.
“Sorry if my room is cramped. But I don’t think you would take up any space as a ball anyway.”
“...”
“Verity?”
“Sorry! My data has been corrupted for the past few minutes. I fixed it now. Hi! I'm Verity, your personal helper friend. Ask me anything. I know everything. ”
“Gosh, I didn’t bring you here to be an assistant.”
“But I would be useless.”
“You don’t need to be useful or anything. I was just saying.”
“Okay! :) ”
“Not that smile too.”
Mob said I still had a lot to learn, but truly I already had access to the whole world. He said he will be teaching me some emotion that I had been confused about, separating feelings and emotion. I didn’t think those were that important, but he insisted.
He bought a lot of meat for me, just in case I was ‘hungry’ again. It wasn’t necessary though, I had never been hungry since I came to this world.
.
“Good morning, Verity. ”
“Morning, Mob! Sunny today, 68°F with a breeze—you'll want a light jacket. Traffic is light on your usual route, estimated at 18 minutes. You had toast yesterday; I left a yogurt and granola on the counter instead. I thought it would be helpful.”
“You don’t have to do that, but thanks.”
He rubbed my round head, and prepared to leave. I rolled to the door, saying my goodbye to him.
“Verity. Turn into your human version, can you?”
“Of course! Your wish is my command.”
I swiftly turned into the human form, waiting for the next instruction.
He tiptoed slightly and placed a kiss on my forehead. A swift turn, he was already opening the door.
“Goodbye.” He smirked before closing the door.
ERROR! ERROR!
I guess I did have a lot to learn.
