Chapter Text
Drip, drop.
“..Yu..ji..”
Drip, drop.
“…you’re a.. strong kid… so help.. others…”
Drip, drop.
“…even if it's only.. those.. closest to you… just save the people… that you can…”
Drip.. Drop..
“So when you.. die..”
Drip…
Drop…
“..You should be surrounded.. by people…”
…
“..Do not.. end up like me..”
Drip, Drop.
—-
It was slowly coming back.
Even if it’s only one.
Fragments of a life he never thought he’d forget.
Do not end up like me.
He remembers these words being said, in a hoarse dying breath that belonged to someone dear in his heart; someone he never thought he’d forget one day. It was… someone he shouldn’t dare to forget. Not once, not ever.
So why is it that he can’t remember who he was?
Drip.. Drop..
..that’s annoying. He thought, feeling cold droplets falling on the shell of his right ear and the sound of dripping only got louder. For a moment, it felt like everything was moving at a much faster pace than his brain could keep up to comprehend.
The sound of dripping, the words repeating in his ears and mind vaguely until they disappeared, even the faint scenes of different moments (a hospital scenery, the schoolyard, classrooms..) brushing before his eyes in a blur before being replaced by another; starting a memory but never completing it.. Everything existed yet remained unfinished; every input is immediately outputted without being processed and he can only find himself blinking slowly as he came into consciousness, his blurred vision slowly coming to be met with complete darkness.
A darkness he doesn’t remember being engulfed in.
..Where am i? His second thought came to his mind that was fighting for consciousness, slowly succeeding so as his hands shot up to touch the space around him, trying to figure out his surroundings.
He hadn’t realized immediately, but he found himself breathing heavily like his life depended on it; his body, his lungs were acting on their own before his brain could even realize it. And it seemed to be the right choice to take as he found himself meeting his exhaled breaths when trying to inhale fresh air, alerting his brain on the situation he was in.
What is going on? He thought, trying not to panic as his hands roamed in the darkness. They didn’t manage to get far as he was met to what seemed to be a wall right in front of his face, deeming it to be the reason why his breaths were fired back right at his face.
He wasn’t only met with darkness,
he was also meeting a space that contained him and him only; not being able to move an inch.
Now he wouldn’t consider himself as someone claustrophobic, but having his mobility to be stripped in complete darkness and the only air he could breathe was his own made him feel like it was enough to consider himself as someone with such fears. And his body had realized that way before he did, as his heart only rose in its beats and his breaths seemed to quicken,
I need to get out of here. He made up his mind, knowing that if he stayed panicking even more, the situation might cost him his life.
He immediately began touching his sides for inspection and he quickly realized that whatever container he was in, it was made of metal. The smooth, cold surface of steel was unmistakable as he tried to push against the wall in front of him with open palms, only to be surprised by the rattle the container had made and how the wall seemed to be pushed slightly; revealing it to be somewhat of a door instead of a wall that’s blocking his path.
That realization alone was reassuring enough, whatever’s in front of him is a door that might be broken open if it had enough force pushing against it.
He took a deep breath before holding it, shifting to stand by his side in the cramped place before holding his arms in a tight guard, beads of sweat forming between his eyebrows.
Here goes nothing.
He thought before he slammed his shoulder onto the steel door, and surprisingly enough, the door didn’t require as much effort as he thought, opening easily. It made him realize if he had only used a third of the force, he would have gotten out of it with no struggle.
However, the realization came too late as he let out a loud yelp, finding himself falling right onto the ground. He immediately let out a pained groan as he held his head that accidentally bumped into the hard, cold floor; leaving him writhing on it.
This cannot be real. He thought as he massaged his head, face scrunched up in annoyance and his eyes sealed shut. Did i get pranked?
For him that was the only logical explanation as he slowly opened his eyes, vision slowly coming to clarity the more he blinked until he was now able to see the scenery in front of him clearly.
And he realized his assumption might be right by looking around the space that he was in, slowly forcing himself up from the ground.
Drip, drop.
He was standing in the lower right corner of a classroom that had around twenty combo desks arranged neatly in order, with each desk aligned so precisely behind the other it seemed like no class had started yet and he was the first to arrive to start the day. It was eerie, to say the least. He doesn’t recall a day in his school life where he arrived this early to a class.
There is something wrong, he thought.
It wasn’t just the desks, it was also the bright, neon light that shot from the projector onto the whiteboard aligned on the same wall as where he emerged from with nothing else on display, the unfamiliar, funky speakers on top of the whiteboard for announcements, the decoration of green vines on the walls (upon a second glance, is it actually decoration? it looks too real to be fake), and the sound of droplets falling continuously in a consistent rhythm without any indication of pausing. As he blinked the scene into his brain, he had come in with a crucial realization that made his churning stomach drop a little bit.
He doesn’t recognize this classroom. Doesn’t remember a day in his life where he visited one such as this one.
Even though he had just started high school and had only attended for a couple of days, he was quick to realize that the classroom he was in doesn’t resemble the one he got acquainted with at all. The desks’ design, the projector emitting a green screen, the green vines decor, and the giant speakers are all foreign components to him in a manner that brought chills to his bones. Everything about the place rubbed him in the wrong way and he knew he needed to figure out how to get out of this place as soon as possible.
Maybe i got lost on my wa-
Whack!
He felt his sweat run cold as he let out a shriek due to the familiar sound of a steel door being burst open on his left side. He turned around with wide eyes and a slightly opened mouth at the source only to find someone in the same position he was in moments ago, hunched over the floor.
Only then he had realized the sound was made from the same container he was in to be burst open. He turned out to look at it and he found out it was nothing else but a bank of lockers standing neatly next to each other, with the doors to two being broken open.
It seems like this person and he have been locked up in these tiny lockers before they managed to break away. How did we get into such a situation? He thought, feeling a drop of sweat run down his temple.
Whatever this is, it can’t be good news.
He averted his eyes from the locker down to the person on the floor, who seemed to be a boy his age. He can only see his black hair as the boy gasped for air, coughing what seemed to be dust.
Drip, drop.
“H-hey… “ He found himself greeting without thinking, his mind suddenly stopping to function. “…are you okay?” He asked, wide eyes unable to blink as he watched the boy whoop his head to his direction, wide yet tired eyes meeting his own.
He took a moment to absorb the boy’s features. The most remarkable ones were his blue eyes and messy, sea urchin-like black hair. Next came his pale skin that seemed too pale for his own good. Everything else regarding him seemed average. Still, despite his normality his face wasn’t one easy to forget.
It felt like an eternity before the boy spoke, as if was deciding between answering him or not. He kept eyeing him back suspiciously before he decided to finally answer him. “...I’m okay, thanks,” the boy finally spoke, voice low and quiet before he stood up to his side, looking back at him with a calculated glance that seemed like it was studying him from head to toe.
The boy definitely seemed to have his guard up against him, looking even defensive and honestly he couldn’t blame him, who wouldn’t be if they woke up in an unknown place next to a complete stranger?
“..were you locked up as well? ” the boy finally asked after a few moments of silence, and he could only answer with a slow, unsure nod. Not finding his voice as his mind was busy with the situation they were currently in.
The boy seemed to quickly catch on to his absent-mindedness as his blue eyes took in the scene of the classroom they were in, and he stared at the boy’s face in an attempt to study his reaction, which after a few moments unsurprisingly matched his own.
“Where are we?” the boy broke the silence, his eyebrows slightly furrowing at the sight of the unfamiliar classroom. “I dont recall ever coming into a classroom like this.”
“Beats me,” he responded, scratching his head in thought with his right hand. “I have never been here either, this doesn’t look like my school.” he muttered, frowning slightly before pausing to look back at the lockers they just came out of. “I also don’t know why I was in that locker just now, I thought it was a prank.” he said, looking back at the boy this time a bit warily, not helping but to display hints of discomfort as well. “I didn't expect someone else to emerge out of one too.” he continued, hinting for the other to explain anything from his side; to share any ideas he had regarding the situation they were in.
Unsurprisingly, the boy remained unfazed despite his clear attempt at pressuring him, looking even uninterested. “I see..” the boy trailed off, his palm coming up to cup his chin and his fingers spreading to entirely cover his mouth, looking deep in thought. “..This is strange. I don't ever recall getting locked up like this either, the last thing i remember is..” the boy trailed off once more, yet this time his face scrunched up even more, not helping himself but to drop his hands to his sides as his face got slightly hotter in anxiety. “I.. I don’t remember anything before waking up.” he said, looking up at the other with distress painted on his face, his nonchalant demeanor vanishing for a moment.
And it was only then he realized he also didn’t remember anything prior to waking up in the closet.
Not even his own name.
“Well, fuck,” the pink haired blurted out, feeling his head getting hotter with sweat. “What should we do?”
“Let’s try to exit this place,” the black haired offered immediately, almost interrupting the other. It seemed like his anxiety was getting the best of him. “It feels dangerous. We shouldn’t be here for long” he continued as his eyes examined the rest of the room, turning his head to his right side and his eyes widened at what he found.
“..what is that?” the boy asked, blue pupils shaking slightly as he tried to compose himself while pointing behind the pink haired, specifically at the wall to his right.
He immediately turned around and his own eyes widened at the sight of the classroom windows being covered in large, red vines with endless thorns, making them impossible to open by normal means. He hadn’t noticed them at first due to how dark the classroom is, his brain filtering the windows out. “What the hell is that?” he spluttered out in surprise, taking a step back.
No wonder it was so dark in the classroom, with nothing but the neon light emitting behind them.
“I definitely don’t recognize a classroom with these windows!” he exclaimed, and the blackhaired only pursed his lips. “What the hell is going on!”
Drip, drop.
“...there seems to be water leaking as well.” the black haired pointed out, pausing for a moment. “Is this an abandoned school?” he concluded in a question, and the pink haired only looked back at him; both of their eyebrows furrowed.
“..I-I’m not sure… i think it’s best to just leave.” the pink haired muttered, and the other could only nod in silence before they both walked to the entrance of the classroom, which was tucked into the far left corner of where they were standing.
Drip, drop.
Only the sound of the droplets falling could be heard while they approached the door, neither of them utter a word. With a gulp, the pink haired grabbed the handle of the door; giving himself only a moment to prepare mentally before turning it open.
Despite taking a moment to prepare himself, he could still feel his stomach drop as he was met with a completely blacked out hallway. Only little could be seen from the neon light reflecting behind him, including his own silhouette. He looked down on the floor and realized grass was emerging between the cracks of the concrete, some even covering up whole tiles while others were lighter in comparison. He swallowed. This place is definitely an abandoned school just like the blackhaired boy suggested. Other than that, there was nothing much to make out of the hallway, except for the fact it was eerily silent.
Neither he nor the boy behind him found the courage to speak. It felt like every sound made, including their own breaths, would cost them somehow. He looked back at the black haired boy who only gave him a nod of affirmation before looking back at the hallway, taking in a deep breath as silently as he could as he moved to duck his head out of the doorframe, looking both sides.
His eyes widened as he saw that there was a faint, yellow light at the end of the left side, making him turn around to the boy almost immediately. “There’s light!” he exclaimed in a hushed voice, cocking his head to the left side to affirm the direction and that seemed like it gave the black haired a boost of confidence and composure, looking more determined. He gave the pink haired another nod, this time more affirmed as a signal to proceed.
The pink haired turned his head around, this time taking a deep breath with no mind to how loud it was before stepping outside, letting go of the door handle. He could feel the boy following suit due to his body heat yet he firmly kept his eyes on the faint light as he approached it slowly.
The sound of their footsteps could be heard loudly as they walked along the hallway, unable to mask it completely due to how silent it was. That was enough to give them the boost to shorten their steps and walk faster to leave, seeing no point in being discreet.
He could feel his heart pounding in his throat and his anxiety worsening by the minute. He didn’t know what frightened him more, waking up in an abandoned school building or not remembering anything about himself. It was a bizarre feeling, as his mind seemingly recognized what’s familiar and what’s not he couldn’t put his finger on it. It was like forgetting where he placed a certain object yet knowing where it was somehow all at once.
Everything existed yet it was incomplete. Inaccessible. He just needed to find out how to force his brain to remember what he’s forgetting just like how it was finding the place of a lost object in the depth of his memories. He just needed to find the right right keywords, the right trigg-
THUD.
He felt his body freeze completely, sweat running cold. Feeling the blackhaired behind him bump into him slightly at the sudden stop yet they both felt the blood being drained from their faces as the ground shook from a sudden impact, both of them staring in utter shock at the source of it.
A gigantic, monkey-shaped robotic machine with long limbs spawned from thin air and crashed right in front of them in the hallway, causing a turmoil so severe chunks of the walls around them fell to the floor, bright red lights flashing out of the robot to fill the dark hallway, and both boys could only look up at it in horror.
“Hell yeah! Finally found you!”
The boys froze as the robot spoke in utter excitement, as if they were in a game of tag. “Fucking finally found you! i did! i did!” the robot said, following with a loud hysterical laugh that expressed nothing but glee. Almost like a kid’s.
“What the hell.” The pink haired blurted out in utter disbelief. “What the hell. What in the world is going on!” He yelled, taking a step back and a moment after he felt the blackhaired tug at the back of his shirt roughly to drag him.
“I don’t know,” The boy muttered out, now visibly sweating as his nonchalant demeanor slowly melted away. “Let’s run away! We can’t let it catch us!” He yelled over the loud whirring sound over what seemed to be the machine’s engine, yanking the pink haired boy with unexpected strength before taking a head start, causing the pink haired to trip over himself before managing to recover his stance and catch up to the other boy running at full speed.
“Wait wait wait wait wait! Come back here!” the robot yelled loudly, causing both boys to wince and cover their ears. “I finally fucking found you! YOU CANNOT RUN AWAY!” the robot screamed out before randomly shooting at the roof with what looked like a machine gun.
“HOLY SHIT!” the pink haired screamed, the ground now shaking in higher frequency as the robot began running after them. “THAT ROBOT HAS A FUCKING MACHINE GUN!” he cried out for the other to hear him, who only gasped as he reached the end of the hallway.
“FROM HERE!” the blackhaired screamed back at him, slowing down and turning around to meet his gaze. “RUN TO THESE STAIRS!” the boy yelled before coughing, waving his arm in the direction of the stairs.
Upon hearing the declaration, the pink haired only accelerated at a speed that felt both surprising and familiar, like it’s his brain’s first time experiencing it but his body is comfortable with it, striking a series of new questions in his mind that he knew he wouldn’t get the answers of anytime soon.
He clenched his teeth as he ran to the stairs, seeing the other wait for a few moments before running down the steps and he followed suit a few seconds after, his body acting before his mind with his legs taking a leap over the stairs instead of running down on them, making him discover things about himself he didn’t know he had; such as how athletic his body really is. It felt almost superhuman.
Yet he couldn’t dwell on such thoughts any longer as both of them approached the floor below them, only to be met with another robot right in front of them blocking their paths completely. They didn’t need to say a word to each other as they both turned left, running to the end of another hallway.
His mind scanned his surroundings furiously for an exit, letting out curses under his breath as no door could be seen. He took a right at the end of the hallway following the blackhaired and kept on running, hoping to see any signs of an exit that they could use.
While running for a few seconds after taking that turn, his eyes widened as he saw a door coming into sight on his right side. It was a door- no, a dual gate that looked so out of place with its design. It looked relatively new compared to the abandoned school like it had been installed only a while ago. He felt his stomach churn. He couldn’t allow a single doubt to surface as he ran to the door, watching the blackhaired miss it completely.
“OVER HERE!!” He yelled out as the turmoil of the maniac robot got closer, stopping in his tracks as he reached the door. “THERES A DOOR!” he watched as the other turned with wide eyes and immediately moving to run back to his side to help him open the door.
They both froze as they realized the door was locked, and no matter how much force they put in trying to open it, it wouldn’t budge at all. The pink haired tried to desperately push it open one last time by ramming into it with his shoulder yet it stood up like a wall, and they knew it was hopeless.
This time, it was him who yanked the blackhaired by his arm before sprinting again to the end of the hallway. There had to be some exit somewhere. He just hoped it wouldn’t take much before they run out of stamina.
And at that moment he hoped he had wished for a million dollars instead as not only a few moments later they were met with another dual door, this time much bigger and it had even more greenery decorating its frame. They didn’t give it a second thought before each of them hurried to a side, slamming as hard as they could into it.
The dual doors opened quite easily, indicating that it wasn’t locked in the first place. As such the force caused them both to tumble violently as they came to a stop, luckily this time not falling on the floor like they did back at the classroom.
They could hear the loud whirring engine of their chasing robot fading away until it disappeared entirely, indicating that their chase was finally over.
Both boys were now gasping for air as they bent down to lean on their knees with clutched eyes, catching their breaths as they wiped their sweat away. They weren’t sure if the large amount of sweat was due to the physical activity or the stress they were feeling. It was definitely a combination of both choices, probably more of the latter.
They finally managed to lose that damn robot with its crazy ass machine gun, now they need to leave this place imm-
“What in the world, there’s more?”
They both opened their eyes widely at the sound of a man speaking, immediately shooting up from their position as they were met with the most unexpected sight of that night. Even more bizarre than a damn robot chasing them all around the abandoned school.
twelve- no, thirteen other pairs of eyes were staring directly at them all standing on a court in the middle of what seemed to be a gymnasium. The roof was high and the walls were also covered in greenery, now even two large trees could be seen in display due to how large the gymnasium was. An empty stage sat at the end of the room as well as other equipment, making it a perfectly classical place for students to have their PE training.
Yet that wasn’t what’s important right now. The important thing is the fact that there are thirteen other students excluding them all gathered in this room together, with each person looking as lost as the other unsure of what to make of their strange situation.
The boys took a moment to study the situation and the people they shared a room with. Their immediate conclusion is that they all seemed to be in the same age, more or less. Everyone in the room seemed to be in their first or second year of highschool, no one looked older than that.
“Did you guys get chased too?“ a feminine voice suddenly broke the silence, interrupting their thoughts getting their attention, “by that big, crazy monster?” the girl, who had light brown hair with a bob cut with side swept bangs continued, crossing her arms. The left side of her hair tucked behind her ear. She looked stylish, dressed in casual clothing yet it was clear the fit was chosen with care.
The pink haired took a moment before nodding, affirming her words. “Y-yeah, we both suddenly woke up in a classroom and when we tried to leave we got chased by that robot. There was no other way but this place here.” He explained in distress, scratching his head as he did so.
The black haired pursed his lips as he glanced at the boy beside him for a moment before he averted his baggy eyes back at the crowd of people in front of him. “..Did everyone here face the same situation?”
“..Yes, everyone here woke up and got chased into this gymnasium,” a man this time spoke, his voice rich and deep. He stood tall, holding the lower half of his face in thought. “It seems like that robot’s true purpose is to gather us here, as it refuses to follow any of us inside this place.” he sighed out before moving his hand to run it over his short black hair, which was already slicked back with a few strands falling over his forehead. It could be seen that the most notable features he had was his long nose and small pupils. He somehow gave the confidence of a leader, his statements displaying his calculated and logical traits.
“I take it you don’t remember anything about yourselves either? not even your names?” he questioned in a tone that indicated he already knew the answer, humming as the newcomers nodded in agreement. “Just like everyone else. We’re all experiencing the same thing.”
“Well, isn’t this interesting?” This time a woman spoke with a sultry, cat-like voice. A calm, sly smile on her face as she took a few steps forward. She had long, blonde hair that flowed gracefully behind her with short, middle-parted bangs covering the sides of her forehead. “Seventeen amnesiac students chased into a gymnasium with no exit or context regarding the situation. None of us know why we’re here or who are the people we’re with.. I wonder who set all of this up.” she muttered in amusement, pausing for a moment. “Oh pardon me, except for the sisters we have here, who seem to know each other,” she said, gesturing like a host would to a pair of twins that stood next to each other, one of them wearing glasses with long, green hair and the other had her hair cut short. They both took a step back warily as the attention has now shifted to them, clearly uncomfortable with it.
“We still don’t know anything else, our names included.” The girl in glasses said defensively, her eyebrows furrowing. Her sister, who had a cooler demeanor, nodded in agreement before she spoke quietly.
“This whole thing is just as strange to us. We don’t know anything else.” She reaffirmed, clearly unbothered by the other’s suspicions. “If we did, we wouldn’t have given away that we knew each other.” she continued in a bored tone, clearly unimpressed by the blonde’s remarks.
The said blonde only chuckled in response. “Alright, alright. My bad, girls. It truly seems like nobody here has any idea what’s going on. I wonder if we’ll be able to figure it out,” She mused, looking around the rest of the group.
The pink haired blinked at the sudden exchange, furrowing his eyebrows. There was something factually wrong with the blonde’s statement just now. He knew it wasn’t correct at all.
The number of students.
“Seventeen?” he spluttered out, looking at her in confusion. “But we’re only fifteen here, including me and him.” He said, pointing to the black haired next to him.
“Ah,” the blonde responded, turning at him with a smile. “There’s a duo that left the gymnasium a while ago to explore.” she explained with a hum, smile not leaving her lips. “Crazy, right? everyone was running for their lives to find safety, yet they deliberately left to investigate the school. Quite bold of them, i’d say,” she chuckled, “they should be here anytime soon, its been a while since they left.” she added lastly, her smile unwavering.
The pink haired only nodded at her words, humming in thought. Seems like there’s all types of people here.
“Tch, is this some fucked up prank?” a blonde man with sharp eyes and a light mustache uttered vulgarly, face scrunched up in utter annoyance. “I swear I’m beating the shit out of whoever’s responsible.” He spat out.
“Not if i did it first.” Interrupted the guy standing next to him, his unique cyan hair styled half up-half down. He let out a sarcastic puff of air, a wide grin plastered on his face. “Whoever’s responsible got to be up for a real challenge.” He said cockily, crossing his arms over his chest. “Even though i dont remember shit, i’m sure I’ve never been in a situation as interesting as this before.”
“This isn’t some game if the both of you haven’t figured it out already,” A girl with a front hime cut and a back-side wolf cut frowned, or more like pouted as she crossed her arms. She had four unique pierces on her chin, and a strand of her bangs were painted blue. “Do you think whoever’s responsible can gather all of us here so easily and have our memories wiped without being prepared to take any attacks in return? be reasonable, they must already be anticipating these sorts of reactions.” she said, scowling at the obnoxious duo. “Have some sense before you drag all of us out in deeper danger.” she finished, earning disapproved ‘tsks’ from the delinquents.
“I must say, you make a fine point, miss.” A tall- more like a burly giant muttered out in a deep, rich voice. A grin spread on his face that had a burn scar on its left side. He wore a simple shirt that failed to hide his ripped body and had his hair slicked up in a messy bun. “We should be more careful than rash. Rushing things out will only result in regret.” he said wisely before humming in agreement with himself, as if he was satisfied with his own answer. “My gut is telling me that we should wait and let things unravel. We’ll have some of our questions answered if we just remain patient.” He said confidently, and none of those who were present could really disagree as there’s nothing else for them to do.
“Agreed, agreed my friend!” Another man exclaimed gleefully, patting his back before moving to stand in the center, suddenly moving to stretch his body. “In times like these we should all relax and warm up our bodies it all works out!” He said with the biggest grin on his face, posing in a ‘ta-da!’ pose as he hit the punchline of his pun.
They should wait for things to work out. Cause they’re in a gymnasium. Get it?
Work out? Gymnasium?
Utter silence filled the place. The pink haired could swear he saw a tumbleweed rolling around somehow.
“WHAT A SHITTY AUDIENCE!”
At that point, thank god, the entrance burst open as the last duo made their way in, interrupting the awkward atmosphere. They were tall men with opposite aesthetics, a white haired and a black haired pair with the white haired wearing circular black sunglasses and the dark haired having it styled up in a neat bun with a side fringe hanging on his face.
“You’re finally back.” The blonde girl greeted, her sly smile never leaving her lips. “Anything new?”
“No, unfortunately.” The black haired spoke, his voice uniquely attractive. “We retraced the paths described by everyone here, and all of them lead to this gymnasium with every door locked. There really seems to be no other exit, and we couldn’t find anyone else on our way. There were open paths we could’ve discovered but they were blocked by these weird robots, telling us to go back over and over again. I’m not sure if we covered everything, we could still expect some people to show up.”
“It was a waste of time.” The white haired blurted out in annoyance, scratching his head. “Our most interesting find is that there were multiple locked doors looking entirely out of place, newly renovated. Most of them have advanced technology embedded in their locks unlike the other normal rooms. There’s a drastic difference between these doors and how run down this whole place is.” He finished, crossing his arms.
Oh right. The pink haired thought. He definitely remembers trying to get into one during their chase and it was locked. He, however, didn’t realize it had a complex locking mechanism due to him and the boy hurrying to safety. Still, just like the white haired indicated, this doesn’t answer any of the questions they all have. If anything, it just added more to it.
“A locking mechanism..” This time a new voice joined in, sounding slightly timid and more anxious. He looked at its direction only to see that it belonged to a slender guy with black hair styled in a side part, his forehead on display. His overall demeanor was quiet and he emitted anxiety clearly, beads of sweats falling from his temple. His most notable feature is his dark under-eye bags and surprisingly high pitched voice, a perfect mix between feminine and masculine. “W-We can at least conclude that whatever’s happening is no coincidence… all of this is deliberately set up,” he finished rather weakly, as if he wasn’t confident with himself, yet no one really had opposed against what he said. They all can now agree that they’ve been set up, not just physically but also mentally with their bizarre memory loss situation which made everything more horrifying.
The pink haired blinked at the diverse group of people in front. After interacting with them, it was somewhat clear which of them had what kind of personality. There were the calculated but also the obnoxious, the talkative and also the silent ones who didn’t utter a single word this whole time; these were a boy and a girl standing silently judging the whole situation, the boy having vampire-like pale skin and some sort of purple eyeshadow around his eyes and the girl had a bob cut similar to the one they spoke to yet her hair was in a darker shade of brown, she also had a mole under her right eye. They didn’t utter a single word the whole time and that alone made him feel a bit disconnected from them, unsure if he’d ever warm up to them like he did with the rest.
He felt like if they were to be stuck in this place the group would be broken into subgroups where they had similar personalities, as it can be clearly seen that not everyone would be getting along with each other.
“We’ve been here for almost an hour now,” As if he read his mind, the vampire-like guy spoke out. And he felt his stomach drop at the mere fact that he was just judging his silence. Thought too soon. “I wonder if more people are coming… we thought no one else’ll show up until both of you did.” He muttered out before glancing at the newlycomers. “How long do we have to wait until everyone arrives?”
As if on cue, the lights in the gymnasium were suddenly cut short, earning gasps and murmurs from everyone as they questioned what’s going on, and it wasn’t until moments later that two spotlights were shining at the empty stage by the end of the gymnasium, causing all of them to turn around to see what demanded their attention like that, each individual looking more nervous than the one next to them as they all held their breaths in anticipation, coming up with all different theories on what might happen next.
Yet no matter how much they tried to figure it out, what happens next took all of them in complete shock, leaving them all truly speechless with their eyes opened in shock and mouths hung wide.
A teddy bear. A whole black and white teddy bear with one red eye appeared on the stage in the blink of an eye and jumped gleefully, its little arms stretched wide open in a welcoming manner as it took a dramatic spin, humming out in utter delight as it moved to stand on the podium on top of the stage.
“Apologies for the delay, everyone~!” It spoke into the microphone happily, its voice blasting across the speakers in the gymnasium. “All the students have finally gathered up, we can now proceed on to the next!” It continued talking blissfully.
“I am Monokuma, the headmaster of this school. And i am here to welcome you all into your new school life!”
