The harsh winds of winter circled them, snowflakes followed the currents of their storm as a man stood at the center of it all adorned with the hues of snow, ice, and the sea with glacial eyes that could pierce through your soul.
Hiccup stared back as the man wore a veil that hid the lower parts of his face, a silver circlet with sapphire gems and a diamond at the center of it all. His snow white robes fastened at the waist with a leather band as his hood was lined with what Hiccup assumes were the fluffiest of furs, probably bear?... Or something else. He also wore white pants yet his boots were a stark contrast of dark leather. He emitted the radiance of a God and a Witch...
His white hair was neatly braided to his back in a large circle which showed off the earrings dangling from his ears.
An angelic laugh echoed around them... It irked Hiccup at how well he could mask his emotions from his veil, holding up his flaming sword and in a defensive stance. Think, Hiccup, THINK. How can you fight off a Fae!? The embodiment of Snow and Ice? Flames were the right answer but after getting separated from Toothless with this blizzard, he knew he couldn't handle it alone but it seems the gods have decided to take pity on him.
Instead of attacking, the man reached up to his face and started taking off the veil to reveal the entirety of him all. Hiccup stood stunned, his breath taken away at the sight before him.
Beneath the veil was an Impish-look-turned-soft. The Fae smiled at him and spoke "I do adore your enthusiasm... Haddock" Hearing his name roll off the Fae's tongue sent an odd shiver on his back, why did it feel right?
"But... He cannot be won over so easily with peace and talk—especially from his biggest obstacle" That smile turned into a scowl at the mention of the Warlord. Hiccup stared hard at the Fae before he spoke "But you did"
A twitch, the Fae's scowl turned into a smirk as he started walking causing Hiccup to mirror his movement, the two now circled each other inside the eye of the blizzard as the Fae said "He listens, because I am his Consort" With a tone of fact, the Fae twirled the staff around his fingers and then added "Because I have played this game far longer than you have, Heir of Berk"
This made Hiccup remember the story from his father—the story of a Child Bride, taken from his village as an exchange for safety.
Hiccup started thinking, connecting it all before he stopped and lowered his sword "You're the child... Drago... He took you"
The Fae stopped as well... looking off into the blizzard, his creation. Hiccup watched him for any reaction at all until the man spoke "I could not let him touch my family... I held something that he needed for his Empire, something he could not refuse" the man looked down at his staff. Of course... His magic!
"You gave yourself, to protect your village..." Hiccup called out to which the man replied back with a humorless laugh "He took everything from me" A pale hand slowly reached over to his abdomen... It clicked.
A wave of pity washed over the brunette as he stared at the man in front of him who only held a somber smile "The only good thing to come from this arrangement... was my sweet boy"
Drago's Heir... the boy held no features of his father but instead took after the Consort. That was a blessing.
And then Hiccup, not knowing what came over him, started walking over. He didn't know what had gotten into him but he knew hostility was not what the Fae needed right now. The Consort looked over, Hiccup expected him to raise his staff but he didn't and instead watched him with an intense gaze and when Hiccup finally stood a foot away from the man he held out his free hand and gently spoke to him "Let us- me... Let me help you... You have helped my mother before-"
A pale hand cut him off by a gesture to stop as the man said "I helped your mother... because she reminded me of my mother... Her Sanctuary reminded me of my home... I would do anything, to see my kin once more" The Fae spoke truthfully and why did Hiccup think he was saying the truth?... He just knew.
Blue eyes looked down at the out-reached hand and slowly raised his own before holding it, their skin a stark contrast to each other.
"We'll defeat him... I swear-"
"Jokul..."
Hiccup stood there frozen, green eyes widened at the name as he stared down at the Fae in front of him who continued "Jokul Frosti... That is my name... That is how he took me... That is how I let him take me"
A name in the Archipelago was a huge deal, whether it was a title or not but a name was all you needed to learn about a person or in this case... a Fae... A Fae's name was all you needed to take them away from their kin and with an information like this, Hiccup knew that Jokul trusted him.
"But..." Those blue eyes looked back down at their hands "I preferred... if you called me Jack... It's more humane than my real one" Jokul—Jack gave Hiccup a hesitant smile but the viking could only smile at him like an idiot and nodded.
By the Norns, he's fallen for a Fae.
