Its never over

Summary:

She guesses she should count herself lucky.

To be saved like that, by Neptune of all people.

But in her opinion it would've been merciful to let Pluto end her there. There in the daycare alongside her husband's corpse.

She failed. Failed to protect the one thing she genuinely cared about. Armies could be replaced. There would always be more dimensions to conquer, planets to invade.

But there was only one of him

She guesses she should count herself lucky.

To be saved like that, by Neptune of all people.

But in her opinion it would've been merciful to let Pluto end her there. There in the daycare alongside her husband's corpse.

She failed. Failed to protect the one thing she genuinely cared about. Armies could be replaced. There would always be more dimensions to conquer, planets to invade.

But there was only one of him.

Venus worked tirelessly. Both her arms were broken. Her right hand mangled into shreds, two of her fingers so damaged that they had no choice but to amputate. She had multiple broken ribs, if lucky meant they missed piercing her lungs then sure she was lucky.

Lucky her spine hadn't been fractured by the many throws she'd endured.

Lucky she still had her vision, her nose, cheekbone and jaw were heavily damaged. She'd only lost one tooth from the repeated blows to the face. Venus could barely see past the blood coating every inch of her face.

She couldnt imagine how bad the daycare entrance looked. She pitied whoever would find it first. Hopefully not Cassie, she didnt deserve more tragedy in her short life.

Neptune held her less mangled hand with tenderness she hadn't felt since she was part of the family. He promised he was fine but the blood caking his hair and dripping over his nose told a different story. Him being her rescuer was the last thing she'd think he'd do. She just couldn't justify why he'd still care for her after everything she's done.

Luckily her lower body had been free of major injuries. Her hip dislocated and her left knee broken but in comparison to her upper half it was a relief.

Without any time to properly prepare the medical ward Saturn had to endure the procedures with little to no anesthesia or pain relief. But she guessed she was lucky her adrenaline dulled most of it.

It had taken so long to get her in a stable enough health. Neptune had fallen alseep standing next to her bed, Venus nearly wore herself to exhaustion. She didn't deserve it. He should've killed her faster.

It would have been a mercy to not feel the excruciating pain after the adrenaline wore off. Her sobs would haunted her siblings for life. She cried and begged for her husband. Begged to be put out of her misery.

She didn't want to live without him.

She was under strict watch after she'd tried to drown herself when Venus left her for just minute to retrieve a towel after a bath. Screaming for Venus to let her die- weakly fighting against Neptune's strong hold.

Every night since she would wake in terror.

Paranoia plagued her. Every second she was here Pluto was advancing on them.

Her whole body was bandaged. Her range of motion so severely restricted she required assistance for nearly everything.

It must be funny to see a strong intimidating man like Neptune slowly spoon feeding his little sister.

Her device buzzed frequently. She regretted giving her number to her friends down on earth.

Part of her wanted to pretend like she'd never let herself go soft. Pretend Eclipse was just someone she dreamt up. She hated herself for even thinking like that.

According to the many texts she was neglecting Mike had been the one to find the mess left behind. Sun and Moon had been salvaged and given their bodies. The jealousy she felt towards the two left her dead to the world.

She didn't talk anymore. Sleeping every second she could.

How was it fair. Eclipse had just gotten his new body, designed it together. Days spent picking colors and choosing outfits, Eclipse making sure she liked it too.

She remembered the ring. The beautiful gemstone on a silver band, to stand out against her golden shackles. Something of her own.

She didn't even get to wear it before he was gone before her eyes. Now somewhere on the floor of the newly built daycare. Themed after them, together.

Even thinking of him sent her sobbing. Was this what he felt when she had succumbed to her injuries?

She couldnt bare to think of him in this much mental anguish.

What'd she do to join him right now.

Maybe once Neptune and Venus stopped hovering around her so much.
