“I’m just saying! I don’t think a hoodie from H&M should cost $60!”
“Sure it’s expensive, but is complaining really gonna change anything Alexander?”
“Whatever. I don’t know why Im talking about this with you.”
Hamilton was having one of those days where him and Burr got into a disagreement about something in the world. Which was very often, but oh well. They should be civil with eachother in a few hours.
Hamilton said a quick hello to Laurens as he sat down at the lunch table, put his head down, and went back to scrolling on his phone. It was just the three of them since Mulligan was home sick and Lafayette was probably on some weird side quest with Peggy. A couple minutes went by as Hamilton scrolled on his phone. Burr got up without saying anything, probably to go talk with Madison.
“Lex, I’m gonna go to the bathroom real quick.” John said. Alex nodded at him and watched as the curly haired boy stood up and walked away. Now he was all alone at the table. He didn’t mind tho, he was used to being alone throughout out elementary and middle school.
Alex didn’t wanna have depressing thoughts so he sent back to doomscrolling on his phone. And then he came across a funny video. A very funny one. So funny that he had to cover his mouth with his hand to prevent his laughter from getting any louder. Of course the one time he gets a funny video on his feed there’s nobody at the table to show it to. If only there was SOMEBODY he talked to just a little he could share his laughter with—
“What’s so funny Hamilton?”
Somebody who he didn’t hate was also something Alex preferred.
Washington always told him hate is a very strong word and to never use it, but come on! Dislike wasn’t a strong enough word to describe his bitterness towards Jefferson.
Alex’s smile on his face immediately turned into a frown as he looked up at Jefferson. That bastard probably heard him enjoying the lunch break for the first time in a few daysand decided he wanted to ruin it. “What do you want?” He grumbled, but Jefferson had a snarky smile on his face and put his hands up, trying to look like the innocent one.
“My bad for wanting to know what you’re laughing at. Be nice for once won't ya?” Jefferson said in a snarky tone, putting his hand on Alex’s shoulder. He hated being touched by people who weren’t his close friends, and this shithead knew that too.
Alex swatted his hand away and shook his head. “No dickhead, go away. I was having a somewhat okay day and you're making it worse!” He snapped. His irritation level was already high from the disagreement him and Burr got in to early. It wasn’t even that serious, but Alex took arguing with others very seriously.
Jefferson went silent and thought for a moment as he hovered over Alex, before an evil smile snuck on his face. “Well.. guess I’ll have to use force!” Alex had no time to react before Jefferson reached down, snatched his phone, and ran.
It was unlocked too.
“You BITCH!” Alex immediately got up and ran after him. See, Alex was never an athletic guy. Running especially wasn’t his thing unless he was running late somewhere. This was an exception tho. The problem wasn’t whatever the hell was on his phone, he's pretty sure theres nothing to hide. It was just he had no idea what Jefferson would find on his phone. And he knew if that fucker found anything even remotely bad, he’d blackmail him. So of course Alex ran faster than he normally could. Not alot of people paid attention to the commotion since stuff was going on everyday in the cafeteria.
He was still running for a few seconds when Jefferson ran past the cafeteria door and almost knocked over John, who looked surprised to see Alex chasing after him.
“Lexi? What’s going??” John asked, obviously concerned.
He stopped for a second and very quickly said “HETOOKMYPHONEGOTTASTOPHIM” with his hands waving around.
Alex regretted stopping to explain the situation to John because the shithead disappeared! God dammit!
“HE’S GONE! John- John fuck its your fault I stopped— where the fuck did he go I need my phone back like now.”
“Uh— bathroom, he went there.”
“THANKSSOMUCHLOVEYOUBYE”
“…What the hell does he mean its my fault.”
—
Alex bolted to the bathroom and slammed the door open. He might've semi-insulted John, but he’ll be fine. You know who won’t be fine? Jefferson when Alex gets his hands on him.
“JEFFERSON! I KNOW YOUR IN HERE.” Alex stomped to the only closed stall and pounded on it, “Give my phone back!!”
“Sorry Hamilton! I’m too busy looking at what you're HIDING on here!” The man let out a mocking laugh. Alex was more stressed out than angry at this point. He absolutely hated people taking his things. And like he said earlier, there was nothing to hide. Alex just liked having his belongings with him.
“Okay, Thomas, seriously give it back. You-You’re stressing me out.”
“You HAVE Snapchat?! What guys or girls do you talk to!”
“THOMAS!”
“Alright alright!”
Jefferson interrupted Alex’s pounding as came out the stall with a smug look on his face. Alex snatched his phone back, putting it in his pocket.
“Oh, and check your camera roll. There are some majestic pictures waiting for you.”
“Fuck you.” Alex was just glad to have his phone back.
Now everything was fine!
Until Alexander watched as Jefferson turned around and saw his jaw drop.
“Would you boys like to EXPLAIN to me why you both were running in the cafeteria?” It was Washington, his adoptive father and unfortunately the principal. Alex already knew before he turned around.
Fuck.
