Chapter Text
Golden light streamed through the large window, while withered branches obscured fragments of the blazing sun. Even so, the room still carried the coolness of early morning,a gentle chill that somehow made the air feel cleaner, fresher.
The faint chirping of a small bird echoed from the gray brown branches outside, lingering strangely in the quiet.
The immortal Witch lay sideways upon the spacious bed, her mysterious green hair vivid against the dark crimson sheets.
She wondered briefly if it was foolish to place such a large window beside a bed meant for comfortable sleep. But then she dismissed the thought. There were curtains here, after all… even bed curtains as well.
Still… in the end, she had simply been too lazy to close them.
The sheets rustled softly as C.C. sat up, honey gold eyes lifting toward the bird preening its feathers outside the window.
At the moment, not a single piece of cloth covered her body, though to her, that hardly seemed like an issue.
Absentmindedly watching the crisp white clouds drift slowly across the sky, C.C. felt an uncomfortable emptiness settle within her.
Even though last night had not been unpleasant at all.
She remembered every touch, every warm embrace, feelings utterly unlike those of an immortal witch. She should not have been feeling this way…
C.C. hated this feeling.
She remained seated blankly on the bed, listening to the bird’s restless chirping.
Perhaps the two of them were alike in their loneliness.
Then, at that moment, another bird fluttered closer
Creak //the sound of the door opening//
"You woke earlier than I expected.”
C.C. turned toward the doorway.
Ah… it was Lelouch vi Britannia.
Dark violet eyes stared intently at her.
“Welcome back, Lelouch.”
She drew her legs closer, knees bending toward her chest. The crimson velvet blanket draped over the front of her body. Sleepy golden eyes, glossy green hair cascading down her back, with several loose strands falling over her chest.
The sound of steady footsteps stopped beside the bed.
Lelouch was still dressed in his imperial attire, his fingers brushing across his collar as he straightened the slightly crooked fabric.
Amber eyes met deep violet ones, dark as an abyss.
C.C. noticed the faint trace of exhaustion crossing Lelouch’s face.
It seemed the meeting he had attended had not been pleasant in the slightest.
Lelouch sat down at the edge of the bed, leaning slightly toward the drowsy witch.
C.C. found it a little puzzling how intently Lelouch continued staring at her like that.
The young man could catch the faint fragrance drifting from that mysterious green hair.
C.C. tilted her head up to look at him.
“Lelouch”
“Hm?
Perhaps because it was early morning, combined with the changing season, the air carried a slight chill.
A strange shiver ran through her.
Without warning, C.C. slipped into Lelouch’s embrace.
//Rustle//
The green-haired woman rested her head against Lelouch’s chest, her smaller frame nestling quietly against him.
Lelouch was visibly surprised by the witch’s unusual clinginess.
And naturally… he was rather flustered.
After a few seconds, he gently brushed a strand of green hair behind her ear. Almost immediately, the beautiful woman lifted her face to look at him.
Lelouch’s thoughts:
[C-cute… ugh- no]
“That hardly suits the appearance of a witch at all… C.C”
Lelouch wrapped an arm around her back, drawing the distance between them even closer. His other hand slipped into her soft green hair, long fingers gently playing with the tangled strands.
He lazily twirled one lock around his fingertip before letting it fall free again, the motion repeating itself like an unconscious habit. Whenever stray strands slipped through his fingers, he woul
d slowly smooth them back into place, gentle as though soothing a small cat.
