There he was. His Sunshine looking relaxed inside the onsen. “Hide, if you stay in there you’re gonna collapse,” Kaneki said, looking concerned.
“It’s fine,” he said waving a hand. Patting the spot next to him, Hide said, “C’mon! Get in, it’s really warm.” He could tell that his black haired boyfriend was under a lot of stress with university. Just looking at his face made him so hurt that he was working under all this pressure from school without any breaks. “Ken, while we’re on this trip, I want you to forget about school and just have fun with me.”
Kaneki’s foot was in the water when he turned to look at his blond boyfriend. Sinking his whole body in the warm water, he asked, “What do you mean?”
“You’ve been under a lot of stress from your classes. I don’t know if your professors have given you a lot of work but you’re definitely under a lot of stress and as your boyfriend, it’s my duty to make sure that you give me some of that burden.” Hide smiled with his teeth showing and his eyes turning into crescent moons. Seeing Kaneki nod, he felt Kaneki’s head fall on his shoulder.
Kaneki was starting to feel all the tension in his body, muscles leave and start to become relaxed. He then wrapped his arms around Hide’s waist and shut his eyes. “Hide?”
“Yeah,” he asked in a relaxed state.
“I love you.”
“I love you too,” Hide laid his head on top of Kaneki’s and kissed his crown.
Shortly after, the two got out of the water and washed each other’s hair and placed their clothes in a small bag, changing into a yukata. The pair of lovers quietly walked back to their room, holding hands. Once they got their room, they set open a futon in the center of their room. With their futon out, Kaneki laid down with Hide’s arms around his waist, bringing him closer to his chest. Kaneki smiled, looking up at the bright and lovable boy. “Good night, Hide.”
“Good night, Ken,” Hide responded with a sleep taking over his body.
