Chapter Text
Sebastian has just left home.
Or well, Glam, is it?
Yeah.
Glam has just left his so called home, where his abusive father stood in the doorway and screamed about the rabble. Rain drips from his hair onto his face as he runs, no destination in mind. He cries as he runs, tears spilling from his electric blue eyes.
Eventually he comes to a stop and realizes he has no idea where to go besides Chive’s caravan so he runs in that direction.
It only takes him about approximately 15 minutes of running before he reaches the familiar caravan that reeks of cigarettes and alcohol. Chive’s caravan. He sighs and knocks quietly, hoping not to wake Chive’s mom.
Thankfully, Chive answers the door. He groggily rubs his eyes, half asleep. His eyes widen the moment he sees Glam, soaked from the rain, eyes red.
Chive shouts, “Glam, dude!” He pulls Glam inside and runs to get a towel. Glam stands in the living room, trying not to look over at Chive’s mother, drunk and passed out on the couch, unlit cigarette in her hand.
Chive comes back and dries off Glam’s hair with a towel before wrapping it around the boy and dragging him to his room.
Glam sits on the floor of Chive’s room while he goes to grab a glass of water for him. Tears are still running from his eyes, sniffles quietly echoing in the room. Chive comes back with a glass of water and hands it to Glam and sits next to him. He sips it and places it on the floor. Glam lays down next to Chive and places his head in his lap. Chive doesn’t say anything, nor does he push Glam to say anything.
About 30 minutes later, when the sniffles have faded away and Chive hears nothing, he opens his mouth to ask, but Glam is fast asleep, quietly breathing in his lap. Chive has never seen the boy so peaceful. He shakes his head and sighs before gently shaking the boy awake.
“Hey, c’mon, get up and let’s move you to my bed,” he says, voice soft and low. Glam yawns and nods his head.
“Okay..” Glam looks up at Chive. “Are you going to sleep on the floor…?” Chive lays Glam down and walks to his closet to dig around to find a blanket.
“Yeah, want to make sure you feel comfy and stuff!” Glam looks at Chive as he pulls a blanket out of his closet, a few holes here and there in the blanket.
“I don’t like the idea of taking your bed while you sleep on the floor, I feel awfully bad,” Glam frowns, “why don’t you sleep with me?” Chive doesn’t say anything for a moment and just feels his face heat up before mentally kicking himself and shrugging.
“I mean, sure? Whatever you say, man.”
Chive climbs into his bed next to Glam and lays there, the both of them staring up at the ceiling. Glam turns and begins to scrunch up, getting comfortable. Eventually, Glam drifts off and begins to quietly snore while Chive just sits there, questioning and worrying for Glam. He’ll try to ask in the morning.
Chive begins to doze off and ends up falling asleep, pulling closer to Glam. Glam wraps himself around the other boy and they sleep like that for the rest of the night.
The next morning, Chive awakens to Glam bring wrapped around him but he doesn’t move, scared to wake him. He shuts his eyes again and pretends to sleep. Glam wakes up a few minutes later and the moment he realizes what he’s doing, he stops clinging to the other. He pushes himself up against the wall and lays there. Chive “wakes” up and rubs his eyes. He looks over at Glam, and he stares back pretending not to have been clinging on to Chive a moment ago.
“G’morning!” Chive grins at Glam. “How’d you sleep?”
“Pretty good… what time is it?”
Chive looks at the clock on his desk and says, “About 12:30pm.”
“Oh shit…!” Glam jumps up.
“What?!” Chive sits up, shocked.
“Father is going to be- Oh. Wait. Never mind.”
“Oh yeah, why’d you show up so late at night?” Chive nervously fidgets with his hands, scared to possibly be too invasive.
“My father… uh… found my stuff. The map of the city I made, my notebook.. he found out everything, he knew about me spending time playing guitar in the band with you, he knew I was sneaking out. So, I ran. I didn’t know where to go but here and even if I did have other options, I think I would’ve came here anyways.”
Glam sits down on the edge of the bed and looks down at his shaking hands, trembling from the fear of the previous night, trembling from the thought of them finding him.
“You chose the rabble!” His father’s words echo through his head. “It’s not your home and I’m not your father anymore!”
Chive crawls up and sits closer to Glam.
“It’s okay, you can go back home and apologize to him. I’m sure he’ll forgive you?” Chive tilts his head looking at the boy.
“No! I-I don’t want to go back.” Glam looks at Chive, fear filling his eyes. Chive doesn’t want to ask, so he stays silent, but his filled-with-curiosity eyes gave him away.
“M-my father, he would beat me with a ruler.” The blond boy lifts the sleeve on his wrist to reveal a bruised and scabbed over wrist. Chive immediately feels a sickening feeling in his stomach, feeling is twisted and turn, he feels the anger boiling in his blood. How could someone do this to their own child? How could someone do such a thing to Glam?
Chive jumps on Glam, giving him a hug. Normally, he would just push him off, but this time he doesn’t. He just wraps his arms around the other boy as well, tears begin streaming down his face.
“You can stay here for as long as you like, forever if you want. You’re safe now, you don’t have to feel that pain anymore.” Chive says, voice trembling.
Glam nods and says, “…okay.”
