Work Text:

February 20th, 4 PM

"Its over,

It's that simple.

That's what Lara thought as she stared at the empty rehearsal room. The white lights reflected on the wooden floor and the music still echoed softly from the speakers, but it felt wrong without Manon there.

Everything seemed wrong without their alpha there.

Her scent was slowly fading from the room; the warm amber and damp wood that always calmed Lara's restless instincts before she even realized she was nervous, now only a faint smell remained, lingering on the forgotten sweatshirts and the sofa in the corner of the room, and it almost physically hurt the omega.

She still remembered the days when everything seemed too heavy, those days when the cruel comments on the internet and the pressure made her scent become completely unbalanced with anxiety.

Manon always noticed first.

Always.

The alpha simply pulled Lara close without needing to ask anything, wrapping her strong arms around her waist as she laid her head against her chest, and immediately her comforting scent filled her senses, muffling the fear within her as if silently saying, "You are safe with me." Then Manon would begin to sing softly in German, gentle songs that Lara never fully understood, but which made her instincts relax every time.

"My mother used to sing this to me when I was a child," Manon whispered as her fingers slowly slid through her hair. "It helped me calm down."

And helped Lara too.

Because no matter how bad the world was outside, the scent of his alpha, the low voice vibrating against his ear, and the careful caressing of his hair always made his heart slow down little by little. Until your breathing becomes calm, until her body stopped shaking.

Until Lara finally fell asleep nestled against her, completely enveloped by Manon's affection and tenderness, as if nothing in the world could hurt her there, but today was one of those bad days.

And for the first time, Manon wasn't there to pull her back close.

And perhaps that was what made that day so unbearable, realizing that everything Lara needed most in the world still bore her name.

February 19, 2026, 10 AM

When the recording ended and the staff began to turn off the studio lights, the entire atmosphere changed. The smiles vanished almost instantly. Daniela hugged Sophia, who hid her face in her neck so no one would see her tears. Daniela tried to release calming pheromones for her omega, but it didn't work; nothing could soothe the leader's heart, who had just lost not only her member, but her sister. Yoonchae and Megan hugged Manon in silence, unable to say anything.
Lara left first.

She entered the empty rehearsal room next to the studio and ran her hands over her face, trying to control her breathing before breaking down completely. But she couldn't; the tears came quickly and suffocatingly.

A few seconds later, the door slowly opened, Manon entered silently, for a moment neither of them said anything. Lara avoided looking at her, because she knew that if she did, she would cry even more. But Manon approached anyway, stopping in front of her with teary eyes.

"Hey..." her voice came out low and careful. The scent of lavender faintly filled the air, in a failed attempt to calm her. "Everything will be alright."

Lara let out a weak laugh, broken by sobs, shaking her head immediately.

"No, it won't."

Manon tried to hold her hand, but Lara pulled it away and looked away again.

"You can't say that as if it were simple," she whispered, her voice trembling. "How do you expect me to keep going into that room every day knowing you won't be there anymore?"

The silence between them hurt more than any answer, so Lara finally looked up, completely devastated.

"Nothing will be okay without you. I don't want everything to be okay without you."

Lara's words caused Manon's face to completely crumble. She tried to approach again, slowly, as if afraid of breaking Lara even more.

"Lara…"

"No." Lara wiped away her tears too quickly, breathing unevenly. "Don't talk like this is going to happen naturally. Like I just have to accept it and move on."

Manon lowered her eyes in silence.

"I'm trying to make this less painful for you."

"Then don't go." The answer came immediately, desperately. "Stay, please Alpha, please don't leave me."

Lara's voice faltered mid-sentence. She immediately stepped closer, gripping Manon's hands tightly. "Please, talk to them again, fight with the company, do anything, I'll do anything."

"Lara," Manon interrupted, her voice breaking.

She was crying too.

"There's nothing more I can do, love."

Lara shook her head immediately.

"Don't say that."

"I wish I were lying." Manon let out a weak laugh through tears. "I really wish I were."

"I'm sorry." Her voice came out broken. The smell in the room was bitter, a mixture of Manon's feeling of helplessness and Lara's sense of abandonment. "If I could choose, I would stay. I would choose to stay with you every time, but I can't, omega, I can't do this to myself."

Lara couldn't answer. She simply pulled Manon close in a tight hug, burying her face in her neck, pressing her nose against her scent gland, wanting to stay there forever, smelling her alpha, her Manon, as if trying to immortalize that moment.

Lara collapsed, right there in her companion's arms, she cried everything she had kept inside all those days, cried until she passed out, hoping that Manon would still be there when she woke up.

February 19th, 4 PM

Lara woke slowly, feeling her head heavy and her eyes burning from crying so much. For a few seconds, she didn't recognize the place. The room was dark, illuminated only by the faint sunlight coming through the half-open curtains.

The scent arrived even before she had fully opened her eyes: damp wood, amber, and Manon's signature vanilla filling the air in a suffocatingly comfortable way.

Alpha.

Lara's body recognized it immediately.

She was nestled against Manon's chest on her bed, in her apartment, covered by a thick blanket while the alpha's arms remained tight around her waist, protective almost instinctively. Manon's scent was everywhere, on the makeshift pillow under her head, on the fingers that slowly caressed her hair now, on her.

Lara let out a trembling breath as she realized all of that.

"You're awake," Manon murmured softly.

Her husky voice vibrated directly against Lara's ear, sending a shiver down her tired body. For a second, Lara simply stood there, absorbing the comfort of the bond, letting the alpha's scent soothe the overwhelming anxiety in her chest.

It was unfair how Manon could still make her feel safe even after unintentionally destroying her world.

"How did I end up here?" Lara asked in a weak voice.

Manon slowly brushed a strand of hair away from her face.

"You fainted in the rehearsal room after crying so much." Her eyes softened immediately. "Your scent was completely off, I was worried."

Lara lowered her gaze, embarrassed. Omegas had difficulty controlling their own scent when they were emotionally devastated, and she hated the idea of having lost control like that in front of everyone.

But Manon only pulled her even closer, instinctively, naturally. Like an alpha protecting her omega.

Lara's nose brushed lightly against her neck, and immediately Manon's scent flooded her senses once more. Her body relaxed without permission, yielding to the familiar comfort that only Manon could provide.

"Sorry," she whispered.

"You don't need to apologize for needing me."

That almost made Lara cry again.

She closed her eyes as she felt the alpha's fingers slowly glide through her hair, exactly the way Manon always did when she needed to calm her down.

"I didn't want to wake up," Lara confessed softly. "Because while I was sleeping, it felt like nothing had changed yet."

The silence that followed broke both of their hearts.

Then Manon simply lowered her head and pressed a long kiss against her hair, breathing deeply the soft scent of jasmine and honey that still lingered on Lara's skin despite everything.

Manon remained silent for a few minutes, still holding Lara close to her chest while slowly stroking her hair. Then she carefully pulled her face away slightly, observing the omega's swollen and tired eyes.

"We should take a shower," she said softly. "You still smell like the street."

Lara let out a weak laugh through her nose, completely lacking the energy to argue. She simply nodded slowly.

Manon stood up first, picking Lara up in her arms and holding her close the entire time as if she were afraid to let her go for even a second. The hot water began to fill the bathtub while the apartment remained silent around them. Neither of them seemed ready to talk about what was really happening.

When they got into the water, Lara immediately moved closer to her again, sitting on Manon's lap. The warmth of the bath helped soothe her aching body, but it didn't lessen the suffocating tightness in her chest.

Manon grabbed the shampoo first, gently spreading it through Lara's hair while her fingers slowly and carefully massaged her scalp. The omega's jasmine scent mingled with the alpha's woody scent in the steam of the bathroom.

Familiar.

Painfully familiar.

And that's exactly what made Lara start crying again.

Silently, the tears simply began to fall as she stared at the trembling water around them.

Manon realized it immediately.

"Hey," her voice came out low, worried. "Look at me."

But Lara just shook her head.

"I'm trying to imagine what it will be like without you," she confessed through tears. "And I can't, I can't imagine all of this without you by my side."

Manon's arms tightened around her almost automatically.

"Lara…"

"Don't say everything's going to be okay." Her voice broke completely. "Because it won't."

Manon closed her eyes for a moment before resting her chin on her shoulder.

"It will take time, but one day it will happen."

Lara cried even more when she heard that. Then Manon took a deep breath, as if each subsequent word was too difficult to say.

"You will find someone who can love you in the right way."

Lara immediately turned to face her, incredulous.

"Can't you understand? I don't want anyone else."

Manon's eyes welled up with tears again.

"But you deserve someone who can stay." She gently stroked Lara's wet face. "And I, I love you more than anything, princess."

Her voice cracked at the end.

"Just not in the way you deserve to be loved."

Manon gently cupped Lara's face, her thumbs futilely wiping away the tears that continued to stream down her face. The hot steam from the bath made the air heavy.

Lara could feel her instincts clashing.

His whole body wanted to get even closer to Manon, to bury his face in the crook of her neck and stay there until he forgot the whole world. The alpha's scent calmed the anxiety coursing through his skin in a way that was almost painful now.

Manon noticed immediately when Lara snuggled closer to her.

The alpha's arms tightened around her waist, protectively, as if the bond between them was still trying to convince the universe that this couldn't end.

"You deserve someone who can stay," Manon began softly, her voice husky as she ran her wet fingers through Lara's hair, rinsing out the shampoo. "Someone who will always choose you. Someone who isn't a coward like me."

Lara shook her head immediately, feeling another sob stuck in her throat.

"Don't talk like that, you're doing your best, you're not a coward."

But Manon continued anyway, because she knew that if she stopped she probably wouldn't have the courage to finish.

"You deserve an alpha who tells you every day how beautiful you are, how your scent makes any place feel like home." Her eyes welled up again. "Someone who makes you laugh when you're scared, who takes care of you on your bad days, who makes you feel like the most special omega in the world."

Lara's breathing completely stopped.

"Because you are."

Manon's scent intensified instantly, becoming heavy and painfully melancholic, betraying emotions she could no longer hide. Lara felt her own chest tighten as she realized this.

Then she desperately cupped her face in her hands.

"But that's you," the voice came out broken. "You're that alpha."

Manon closed her eyes immediately, as if it had struck her directly in the heart.

Her fingers trembled against Lara's waist.

"I can't be that person"

Lara brought her face closer to hers until their breaths mingled. The need for closeness between alpha and omega seemed overwhelming now, suffocating, as if their instincts were begging for neither of them to let go of the other.

"Then be it," Lara pleaded softly.

Manon opens her mouth to say she can't, but Lara cuts her off.

"Just for tonight, please be the alpha who stays."

Her tears fell uncontrollably.

"Love me one last time."

Manon remained silent for a few seconds after Lara's request. She simply watched her closely as tears continued to stream down the omega's face and the sweet scent of jasmine filled the entire bathroom in an almost suffocating way.

Then Manon brought her hand to her jaw, caressing it slowly, and smiled for the first time that night.

A small smile. Sad. In love.

"It's okay," she whispered. "Today I'm going to show you what it's like to be loved the way you deserve."

Lara's heart stopped immediately.

Manon brought her face close to hers until their noses almost touched, letting her alpha scent envelop her completely once more.

"And I'm going to give you the best night of your life, princess."

Her deep voice sent a shiver down Lara's entire body.

"Because you should never accept less than this, you understand? Never." Her fingers slowly slid through the omega's wet hair. "No matter who comes after me, you deserve someone who makes you feel loved like this every day."

Lara felt her eyes fill with tears again.

"Manon…"

The alpha kissed her forehead before she could continue.

"Now get ready for me, hm?" she said in a softer tone, trying to ease the crushing pain between them, even if only for a few minutes. "I'll pick you up at eight."

Lara blinked, confused.

"Why search?"

Manon's smile widened only slightly that time.

"Surprise."

"Are you serious?"

"Very serious." She rested her forehead against hers again. "Then choose a nice outfit, because tonight it's just you and me, nothing else matters."

Even knowing that it tasted like a farewell, Lara nodded.

Because for the last time, she was still Manon's omega.

February 19th, 8 PM

At eight o'clock sharp, Lara heard the soft honking of a horn echoing from outside the building.

Her heart raced immediately.

When she left the apartment, she found Manon leaning against Daniela's borrowed red car, holding a huge bouquet of white jasmine and red tulips. Manon simply stopped breathing for a second.

The alpha's eyes slowly scanned Lara, as if trying to absorb every detail before it was too late. The dress draped perfectly over her body, her hair was carefully styled, and the sweet scent of jasmine and honey seemed even stronger that night.

"Oh my God," Manon whispered, almost voiceless. "You look perfect."

Lara felt her face immediately heat up.

But Manon moved even closer, completely mesmerized.

"Your eyes are so beautiful that sometimes they really make me nervous," she confessed softly, a sad smile appearing on her lips. "Like right now."

Lara let out a weak laugh, too emotional to respond.

The alpha's fingers gently touched her face.

"And your smile," Manon breathed deeply as if trying to control herself. "I find it cruel the way you smile at me knowing the effect it has."

Lara's heart felt like it was about to burst out of her chest.

"When you smile," Manon continued, slowly bringing their foreheads closer together. "It seems like nothing bad can exist for even a few seconds."

Her eyes were already watering again.

"You are the most beautiful thing I have ever loved."

Lara almost cried immediately upon hearing that; the alpha's scent intensified around her, warm, protective, and deeply passionate. Wood, amber, and rain enveloped the omega's senses until she felt dizzy.

Manon slowly brought her face closer to her gland, taking a deep breath.

"And you smell so good," the voice came out hoarse. "My instincts go crazy around you. As if my whole body knew you were mine even before my head understood it."

Lara gripped the front of her coat tightly, completely surrendering.

Manon looked up again.

"I love every detail about you, 'mega. The way you look at me when you're sleepy, how you squeeze my hand when you're nervous, the way you always try to take care of everyone even when you're broken inside."

She smiled slightly.

"And I love that you never realize how adorable you are when you're mad at me."

Lara laughed while crying this time.

And that seemed to break Manon's heart even more.

"You're the best thing that ever happened to me," she whispered. "And I'm going to spend the rest of my life hating the fact that I'm the one who leaves."

Then he gently cupped her face and kissed her slowly, as if he were too in love to do anything else.

"Jasmine and red tulips," Lara whispered, pulling away from the kiss to curiously comment on the choice of flowers.

"Because they remind me of you." Manon smiled slightly. "Too beautiful to exist without hurting someone."

Manon gently took a small folded letter from her coat pocket and placed it in Lara's hands.

"It only opens tomorrow when you wake up, okay?"

Lara frowned slightly.

"Manon -"

"Promise."

After a few seconds, Lara nodded slowly.

The alpha smiled contentedly and they went to the car.

"Ladies first," Manon says, giving a small curtsy as she opens the car door.

As soon as they entered, the soft sound of Ariana Grande's "One Last Time" began to play on the speakers. The two froze for a moment, then looked at each other and, despite the overwhelming pain in their chests, managed to share a small smile at the same time.

Because it was so typical of them that it was almost ridiculous, Lara shook her head, laughing softly as she wiped her eyes.

"Did you plan this?"

"Perhaps."

"Dramatic."

The comfortable silence returned soon after, filled only by the music and the familiar scent of Manon inside the car. After a few minutes of driving, Lara finally asked:

"Where are we going?"

Manon smiled without taking her eyes off the road.

"Surprise."

"You're full of surprises today, aren't you?"

"Trust me, princess."

Lara mumbled something under her breath, eliciting a laugh from her, and Manon continued to change the subject until the car finally stopped. When Lara looked out the window and recognized the restaurant, her eyes immediately widened.

Your favorite.

"How did you know?" Lara said, her eyes widening slightly; she didn't remember telling the alpha her favorite place.

"Remember that night in the rehearsal room with the girls, a few months after we all started living together, and we asked each other random questions?" Manon whispers close to the omega's ear while holding her waist affectionately. "Megan asked you about a restaurant, you said this one, and I still remember it to this day."

Months ago, they were all scattered around the rehearsal room after a particularly tiring practice. The music was still playing softly from the speakers while food wrappers and water bottles covered half the floor.

Sophia sat between Daniela's legs, leaning comfortably against the alpha's chest while Daniela absentmindedly played with her hair. The soft scent of vanilla and coffee from the two mingled in the air so naturally that no one there needed to ask what was happening between them.

Although none of them had officially admitted anything.

Further away, Megan and Yoonchae remained seated side by side near the mirror. Their shoulders brushed occasionally without either of them moving away. Megan pretended to pay attention to her phone, while Yoonchae avoided looking directly at her for too long.

The funniest thing was that Yoonchae hadn't even officially introduced himself as the alpha yet, but Megan already seemed to know anyway.

Especially when her scent changed every time Megan laughed too close.

"Okay, quick game." Megan announced suddenly, trying to deflect attention from the fact that she was still leaning against Yoonchae's shoulder. "Random questions so we can get to know each other better."

"We've been living together for months," Daniela grumbled lazily, squeezing Sophia a little tighter against her.

"Exactly. It's going to be funny."

And then they began.

Favorite color. Favorite song. First crush. Silliest fear.

Until Megan quickly turned to Lara with a curious smile.

"Favorite restaurant?"

Lara didn't even need to think.

"Spice Affair," he replied immediately. "It's an Indian restaurant in Los Angeles. The place is beautiful, the food is perfect, and they make the best dessert I've ever tasted in my life."

"Wow, that was very specific." Sophia laughed.

"Because she clearly loves this place," Daniela commented.

Lara smiled slightly, almost shyly.

"My mom took me there once when I was having a terrible day, so it kind of became my favorite place in the world."

While the others went back to playing with each other soon after, Manon remained quiet, watching Lara.

Memorizing.

The sparkle in her eyes as she spoke of that place, the soft tone of her voice, the small smile that always appeared when she mentioned something she truly loved.

And now, at the restaurant door, Lara felt her chest tighten as she realized that the alpha had kept that all along.

"Do you remember this?" Lara whispers, her eyes welling up with tears, surprised that the alpha was paying so much attention.

Manon seemed genuinely surprised by the question.

"Of course I remember."

The answer came immediately, as if it were obvious; she moved impossibly closer, her eyes soft as she observed Lara with that careful attention that always made the omega feel truly seen.

"I remember everything you say," Manon confessed softly. "The big things and especially the small things."

Lara felt her heart clench violently.

The alpha scent grew warmer again, comforting and deeply melancholic.

"You mention something just once and I simply remember it." She smiled weakly. "Because I like listening to you talk. I like the way your eyes light up when you're interested in something."

Her fingers gently touched Lara's hand.

"I pay attention to everything about you, princess. Down to the smallest details."

Lara could already feel her eyes welling up with tears again.

"And that's exactly why you should never accept less than that from any alpha," Manon continued, her voice low and serious now. "Don't accept someone who doesn't pay attention to you one hundred percent of the time."

She gently brought a strand of hair close to Lara's face.

"Don't accept someone who doesn't know how interesting you are, because you talk about the smallest things as if they were magic, and that's one of the most beautiful things about you."

Tears began to fall silently down Lara's face.

"You deserve someone who remembers your favorite request, the song you listen to when you're sad, the way your scent changes when you're nervous." Manon's voice faltered slightly. "You deserve someone who looks at you as if you were the most important person in the world."

Then she smiled slightly.

"Because for me, you always were."

Lara immediately lowered her head, too emotional to answer.

Manon leaned towards her and kissed her forehead lingeringly, letting her fingers carefully wipe away the tears that threatened to smudge her makeup.

"No crying now, okay?" she murmured softly. "You look too beautiful today."

Lara laughed weakly through her tears.

Manon lowered her hand to the omega's lower back, guiding her until they entered the restaurant. She opened the door for her like a true oak-breasted alpha, making Lara roll her eyes even while smiling.

And for the next few hours, they tried to forget the end.

Sitting across from each other, they talked about the silliest moments they'd experienced together, about Daniela almost setting the kitchen on fire trying to cook pasta at three in the morning for Sophia who was menstruating and craving food, about Sophia sleeping on any surface possible during training, about Megan and Yoonchae clearly being in love with each other while pretending they weren't.

Lara laughed genuinely when Manon imitated the desperate way Megan acted around Yoonchae.

And for a few moments, it seemed normal again, as if there was still a future for the two of them.

February 19th, 10 PM

After dinner, Lara was still chuckling softly as she wiped her eyes, wet with tears from laughing so hard at a story Manon was telling about Daniela trying to flirt with Sophia and failing miserably in front of everyone.

For a few minutes, it seemed like nothing had changed, then the bill arrived. Lara grabbed her purse automatically, but Manon was faster, placing the card on the table before she could even open her wallet.

"Manon-"

"Don't even try," the alpha interrupted immediately, making Lara laugh weakly.

"I can pay my share."

Manon rested her elbow on the table, looking directly at her with a small smile.

"I know you can. You can do anything on your own."

Then she leaned a little closer.

"But you should never agree to go out with someone who doesn't want to take care of you too."

Lara's heart immediately tightened.

Manon gently placed her hand on the table.

"Don't accept an alpha who makes you worry about these things," she said softly. "You deserve someone who wants to do everything for you just because they love you."

Her fingers slowly caressed Lara's.

"You deserve someone who looks at you and thinks, 'I would do anything to see this omega happy.'"

Lara already felt like crying again.

But Manon merely kissed her fingers before rising from her chair.

"And today you're not going to think about anything other than having fun with me, understand?"

As they left the restaurant, the cold night air immediately hit Lara's face. She tightened her coat around herself as she watched Manon open the car door for her again, and then fear slowly began to creep into her chest, because

Maybe it was all coming to an end, maybe Manon was simply going to drop her off at home now.

Perhaps that was the farewell.

The silence inside the car felt overwhelming as the city lights streamed past the window. Lara kept her gaze down, trying to emotionally prepare herself for the end of the night. Until she realized that Manon had turned onto a completely different street from the one leading to her apartment.

Lara looked up immediately.

Where are we going?

Manon smiled without taking her eyes off the road.

"What? You thought the night was over?"

Lara blinked, confused.

Then the alpha finally looked at her for a second, that beautiful, loving smile reappearing.

"You're all mine until the day is over, princess."

Lara's heart raced so hard it almost hurt.

"Manon"

But Alfa simply held her hand on the gearshift while continuing to drive.

A few minutes later, the car began to slow down in front of a huge, illuminated gate.

Lara frowned in confusion until the gates opened and she realized where they were.

An amusement park.

Completely empty.

For women only.

Lara turned her face slowly towards Manon, too shocked to speak, and Manon simply smiled, proud of her own surprise.

"I wanted a night where you could laugh without cameras, without the company, without anyone watching us," she said softly. "Just me and my omega."

As soon as she got out of the car, Lara seemed to completely forget all her sadness for a few seconds.

Her eyes lit up immediately when she saw the park lights reflecting in the empty night.

"My God…"

So she simply grabbed Manon's hand and started pulling her all over the park, too excited to walk normally.

"Come, come, come!"

"Princess, calm down—" Manon laughed without even being able to keep up properly.

But Lara had already stopped in front of the bumper cars.

"Me against you. Here. Now."

Manon raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, really?"

"I want to see who is better."

The alpha let out a low laugh, completely charmed by her enthusiasm.

"And what do I get if I win?"

Lara narrowed her eyes.

"Nothing. Because I'm going to win."

Manon laughed even harder.

And a few minutes later, she was letting Lara hit her stroller for the third time in a row while feigning dramatic indignation.

"That was cheating!"

"You're just really bad!" Lara laughed so hard she could barely drive straight.

So Manon let her win on purpose in the end just to see that huge smile appear on her face.

And it was totally worth it.

After that, they went on practically every ride possible. They ate cotton candy while walking hand in hand through the park, shared popcorn while discussing their...

They sang their favorite songs and laughed so much on a spinning ride that Lara needed to lean on Manon's shoulder to be able to walk afterward.

Throughout the entire time, the alpha's eyes never left her for long, as if she were trying to etch that happiness into her memory.

Later, they ended up stopping at the shooting gallery.

Lara crossed her arms immediately.

"You definitely can't win."

Manon looked at her, feigning offense.

"Princess, I'm an alpha. Of course I can."

She casually pulled up the sleeves of her blouse, deliberately revealing the muscles of her arms as she retrieved the weapon from the tent.

Lara rolled her eyes instantly.

"My God, are you really trying to impress me?"

"It depends, is it working?"

Unfortunately, yes.

Especially when Manon smiled that smug smile while adjusting her posture.

"Listen carefully, I'm going to win a teddy bear for my omega."

"You're ridiculous."

"But you love."

Lara tried to hide her smile as Manon began shooting.

And after several attempts, and dramatic complaints about the "clearly defective" weapon, she finally managed to win a small white teddy bear.

Manon immediately held up the award, proud of herself.

"See? All for you, one more for the count, welcome knife."

Lara received the teddy bear laughing so hard her chest hurt.

"Finally a little brother for the fork and you're still obsessed with kitchen gadgets"

Later, they ended up going on the Ferris wheel.

The entire park shimmered beneath them as the cabin slowly rose through the starry sky. Lara remained leaning against Manon's shoulder, hugging the teddy bear while the alpha's warm scent enveloped her comfortably.

For a few seconds, neither of them said anything.

Until Manon broke the silence softly:

"You shouldn't accept someone who doesn't try to make you smile."

Lara slowly raised her gaze to her.

The alpha's eyes were soft again.

"Don't accept someone who thinks loving you is difficult," she murmured as she stroked her fingers. "Nor someone who stops trying to win you over just because they already have you."

Lara's heart clenched painfully.

"You deserve gifts, attention, and affection, even in the little things." Manon smiled slightly. "Even if they aren't expensive, because when someone truly loves you, they'll want to show it all the time."

She slowly brought a strand of hair close to Lara's face.

"You deserve someone who looks at you the way I'm looking at you right now."

Lara felt her breath catch in her throat.

Then Manon turned her face slightly toward the window of the Ferris wheel.

"And honestly?" she let out a low laugh. "You're as beautiful as this view."

Lara's eyes immediately filled with tears.

"You say all sorts of things"

"Because it's true."

Manon gently held her face.

The scent of the two intensified in the small space of the cabin, sweet jasmine mixed with amber as the city shimmered below them, then she kissed Lara.

Slow.

Passionate.

As if he were trying to transform that moment into something eternal.

When they got off the Ferris wheel, Lara still seemed a little dazed from the kiss, the little white teddy bear still pressed against her chest as she walked slowly beside Manon through the almost extinguished lights of the empty park.

This time, Manon kept her arm firmly around Lara's shoulders, pulling her close the entire time, her scent enveloping the omega comfortably as they walked slowly towards the car, as if neither of them wanted to get there too quickly.

Lara automatically rested her head on her shoulder for a few seconds before glancing distractedly at the clock on her phone.

00:03.

Her smile vanished instantly.

Manon realized it immediately.

"Hey…" the alpha murmured softly, gently stroking his face.

But Lara could already feel her chest sinking again.

Midnight.

The day is over.

Their last night was coming to an end, too.

She clutched the teddy bear even tighter to her chest as they silently got into the car. This time, One Last Time wasn't playing anymore; only the faint sound of the engine filled the space as Manon drove through the empty city streets.

Lara was trying to memorize everything.

The way Manon held the steering wheel with one hand, her scent filling the entire car, the streetlights illuminating her profile from time to time.

Because soon it would just be a memory.

When they finally arrived at the building, Lara hesitated for a few seconds before she could open the car door; the silence between them now felt too heavy.

Then Manon took a deep breath before speaking:

"You deserve someone who makes you feel safe."

Lara slowly raised her eyes to her.

The alpha kept her voice calm, although her eyes were already watering again.

"Someone who takes you out and brings you back knowing they'll protect you the whole time."

She smiled slightly.

"You deserve an alpha who makes you feel like you never need to be afraid because she'll always be there."

Lara's heart ached violently.

Because she didn't want another alpha.

Just that one.

So, before Manon could say goodbye, Lara quickly grabbed the sleeve of her coat.

"Then come up with me."

Manon blinked in surprise.

"Lara- "

"You just said I deserve someone to protect me until I get home," her voice came out small and tired. "Then walk me to the door."

For a second, Manon just stared at her.

Completely unable to deny anything when Lara looked at him like that.

Then the alpha let out a weak laugh through her nose and nodded.

"Okay, princess."

And he got out of the car immediately to walk beside her again, keeping his hand firmly on the lower part of her back as they entered the building together.

Upon reaching the apartment door, Manon is ready to say her final farewell.

"You deserve-"

Lara stops her by pulling her into an awkward, passionate kiss.

"You said you were going to make me feel loved all day for the last time, so I'm begging you, alpha, make love to me just one more time, I need you, please," the omega says breathlessly, moving closer to the alpha and intertwining her hands in her hair while looking into her eyes, which are full of love and something deeper: lust.

Lara pulls her by the shirt, dragging her into the apartment. Manon quickly reverses their positions, pressing the omega against the door and holding her by the neck.

"You were thinking about that the whole way here, weren't you, 'mega?'"

"Yes, please, Alpha."

"Please, what is it, princess? I need you to tell me."

"Fuck me please"

Upon hearing her omega's sweet voice, the alpha immediately picked her up and headed towards the bedroom, placing Lara on the mattress.

The mattress sank when Manon placed her on it, the omega pulling her down before she could even settle properly. Lara's legs immediately wrapped around the alpha's waist, pulling her closer as if even the small space between them was too much.

Manon steps back slightly just enough to take off her clothes, allowing Lara to run her nails across her abdomen, scratching her.

"Damn, I'm going to miss this so much"

The alpha chuckled softly at the comment, then moved back towards her and showered kisses on her neck.

"Can I take this off?" she says, her hands sliding up under Lara's blouse.

"Yes, damn it, please"

Manon pulls off her shirt and bra, leaving bite marks along the way. The omega tires of the torture, pushing her away slightly so she can take off her pants.

“Please,” she whispered. “I need you in here.”

Manon finally positioned herself between you two, aligning herself. Lara was already wet, slippery from thinking about it for hours; she penetrated slowly, inch by inch.

A centimeter, feeling it stretch around her. The omega's breath hitched, her nails digging into her shoulders.

“Damn… yes, just like that,” she whispered, her eyes closing the instant she was fully inside, her hips pressed against hers. The alpha stayed there for a second, buried deep, just feeling how she tightened around her, warm and vibrant.

Manon began to move, slow, deep hip movements that made the bed creak softly beneath you. Lara's nails scratched your back, pulling you closer, keeping your chest pressed against hers.

Her moans were low at first, small, soft sighs each time you brushed against that spot inside her. Manon kept a steady rhythm, savoring it, one hand sliding to caress her breast, her thumb brushing her nipple in slow circles that you knew drove her wild.

"You're so hot," he murmured against her neck, kissing the spot just below her ear. "Always so tight for me."

She emitted another small sound against the alpha, trembling this time, barely able to contain herself. Her thighs tightened around her waist as a slight tremor ran through her, and instinct made her move a little deeper, slower, trying to stay close to her instead of following the rhythm.

For a second, she just squeezed you tighter. Her fingers tangled in the fabric of your shoulders, her breath ragged against your neck. Then, her breath hitched strangely, so suddenly it made you stop.

You stepped back enough to see her better. Her eyes were closed, her brows furrowed, tears slowly trickling from the corners and disappearing into her hair.

"Lara?" Her voice came out soft, worried, slowing the pace of her thrusts, almost stopping, and she brought her hand to her face to wipe away the tears.

Hey, are you okay? We can stop if—”

She shook her head quickly, opening her eyes, which were glazed and moist. More tears streamed down her face. "No... don't do it. Please, don't stop."

Her voice faltered slightly, but her legs tightened around Manon, her heels pressing into her back to pull her even closer. "Please continue," she pleaded, her voice choked, her fingers tightening where she held her as if afraid the alpha would pull away.

Manon examined her face, her heart heavy with tears, but also recognizing the need there, the way her lips were slightly parted, the blush on her cheeks, the way she still approached to meet you even while crying.

"Are you sure?" he asked, giving a careful, shallow thrust, testing her. Lara let out a trembling moan, her breath caught in her throat as fresh tears streamed down her temples. She nodded quickly, almost desperately, against you.

"Yeah, fuck it, don't stop."

Her hands moved up to caress his face, pulling her alpha into an awkward, needy kiss. She could taste the saltiness of her tears on his lips as she whispered against his mouth, her voice choked with emotion.

"Please continue."

Manon kissed her more deeply and began to move again, slower this time, moving her hips in long, intense thrusts. Lara cried out harder for a moment, low, anguished sobs mingling with her moans. Her walls vibrated warm and moist around her, pulling her in with each thrust.

“You’re doing so well,” she whispered, “receiving me so well. Let it out, mega. I’m here with you.”

She moaned softly, her hips still moving to meet amidst the tears. Her breathing remained uneven, small, trembling exhalations turning into lower moans whenever the angle changed just right, her body still responding instinctively even as she struggled to steady herself.

“I feel so fulfilled,” she managed to say, her voice breaking. “You’re so fucking deep.”

The alpha maintained that steady rhythm, moving her hips as her hand slid between their bodies, her fingers finding her clitoris and making firm circles. Lara's back arched sharply off the bed, a broken sob caught in her throat as pleasure hit her hard.

“Don’t stop,” she pleaded again. “Please don’t stop. You’re helping. You’re helping.”

Manon kissed her again, swallowing the next sob, and thrust harder, letting her feel every inch. The wet sounds between them filled the room, skin to skin, the smooth sliding inside her, her trembling breath. The alpha could feel her reaching climax, the way she tightened around him, how her thighs began to tremble.

“Come on,” you whispered in his ear. “Come to me, I’ll protect you.”

She climaxed with a cry that turned into another sob, her body contracting around him, pulsing intensely. Tears streamed down her face as she trembled, clinging to alpha as if he were the only thing keeping her whole.

Manon remained inside her, not yet withdrawing. She simply hugged her tightly, their bodies pressed against each other as she tried to catch her breath.

"Are you okay?" he asked softly, brushing the damp hair away from her forehead.

Manon held Lara's face between her hands with an almost painful care.

The omega lay beneath her on the bed, her eyes red, her chest rising too quickly as she tried to control her crying, failing completely.

Her sweet scent was now filling the entire room.

And that was destroying Manon, the alpha slowly tilted his face, pressing his lips against the tear that ran down Lara's cheek.

Then another one.

And another one.

As if she wanted to kiss all the pain away.

"Hey, look at me."

Lara tried, but her eyes closed again as a sob escaped.

Manon rested her forehead against hers.

"You are so beautiful."

The voice came out low, hoarse, too sincere.

Her fingers slid slowly along the omega's waist, almost reverently.

"Every detail of yours"

She kissed the corner of her mouth.

"Every curve."

Another kiss, closer to the jaw.

"Every little bit of you drives anyone who looks at you crazy."

Lara cried even harder when she heard that.

Because it didn't sound empty coming from Manon, it sounded real. The alpha brushed a strand of hair away from her face before continuing:

"And that's what destroys me."

Lara's eyes finally met hers.

Tears welling up.

Confused.

Manon took a deep breath.

"Because you deserve someone who loves you much more than that."

She gently stroked her face, her thumb wiping away another tear.

"Someone who looks at you and sees the incredible woman that exists inside."

The alpha's voice faltered slightly.

"The girl who writes songs at three in the morning because she feels everything too intensely."

Lara held her breath.

"The incredibly talented woman who gets on stage and takes everyone's breath away when she dances."

Another gentle kiss on her forehead.

"The intelligent, funny, kind, and loving person who continues to care for others even when no one cares for them."

Manon's eyes were shining now, too.

"You deserve someone who loves the way you talk about your compositions even before they're finished."

She smiled slightly.

Sad.

"Someone who memorizes your favorite lyrics just because you wrote them."

Lara gripped her shirt tightly, as if trying to stop Manon from leaving before she even threatened to do so.

Then the alpha lowered her face again, kissing away her tears one last time.

"Not someone who only desires your body."

She rested her forehead against Lara's, closing her eyes.

"Because anyone can desire you, omega."

The voice came out almost broken.

"But few will know how to love you the way you deserve."

Manon could no longer maintain the distance.

With a slow movement, she reversed their positions on the bed, pulling Lara against her chest until the omega practically disappeared between her arms.

Lara clung to her immediately, as if she had been waiting for this for a long time, her face buried in the alpha's neck, her hands trembling against her shirt.

Manon felt the omega's scent change again, becoming more intense, painfully needy for comfort; it triggered every alpha instinct within her.

Manon closed her eyes as she gently stroked Lara's hair.

"Please don't cry like that."

But Lara just held her tighter.

"I wish it were you."

The voice came out muffled against her skin.

Broken.

"I really wish it was you"

"You're the only one who deserves to love me this way."

Manon's heart practically stopped.

She stepped back just enough to look Lara in the eyes and immediately regretted it, because there was so much truth there that it hurt to breathe.

"Lara…"

" And you."

Another tear rolled down her cheek.

"It was always you."

Manon clenched her jaw tightly, her throat burning, because she wanted to give up, unpack her bags and stay, she desperately wanted to.

But I couldn't.

No more.

She cupped Lara's face in her hands again.

"I can't."

The omega shook her head quickly.

" Maybe yes."

" No."

Alpha's voice faltered.

"I can't stay here."

Lara stood motionless for a second.

As if he already knew what was coming before she even said it.

And then Manon took a deep breath, feeling her chest sink completely into that memory.

The apartment was silent that night, too silent, Lara remembered finding it strange as soon as she entered.

Manon usually left music playing, or the television on, any kind of noise, but that day there was nothing.

Just her. Sitting on the living room floor with an open suitcase beside her.

Lara had felt her stomach instantly turn to ice.

"What is that?"

Manon took a while to answer, her red eyes betraying that she had already cried before the conversation even began.

"I'm going back to Switzerland."

Lara's world simply stopped.

" What?"

The alpha let out a weak, humorless laugh.

"I was kicked out of the group, Lara."

The words sounded like poison coming out of her mouth.

"It no longer makes sense to stay here."

Lara remembered her own breathing becoming short.

"Manon…"

"I tried to find a reason to continue."

Her voice broke.

"I swear I tried."

Then he finally looked at Lara.

And that had destroyed her, because Manon looked devastated.

Empty.

"But I can't wake up every day knowing that the group continues without me."

Lara felt her eyes burning immediately.

"You still have me."

The silence that followed was cruel; Manon looked away, as if that made everything worse.

"That's exactly why I need to leave."

The voice came out low.

"Because if I stay, I'll never be able to move on." Lara remembered the despair growing inside her. "Then take me with you."

Manon closed her eyes at that very moment.

As if hearing that had destroyed what little control she had left.

"Don't do this to me."

"I'm serious."

Lara had knelt in front of her at that moment, holding her hands.

" I go."

"Lara"

"I'll go anywhere if it's with you."

And then Manon started crying for real, in that way that was much worse; she held Lara's face in her trembling hands and rested her forehead against hers.

"You were born for great things."

The voice completely failed.

"Huge stages, huge songs, a huge life with gigantic fame"

Another tear fell.

"And I refuse to be the person who takes that away from you just because I'm devastated."

The room fell silent after the memory, heavy, painful.

Lara was still nestled against Manon's chest, her fingers gripping her shirt as if letting go meant losing the alpha at that very moment, and perhaps it did.

Manon took a deep breath before moving slowly, as if she were about to get up; her body had barely left the mattress when Lara immediately grabbed her arm.

Desperate.

" No."

The voice came out weak.

Manon closed her eyes for a second.

"Lara..."

"Don't go away now."

The omega pulled her back before she could even finish the sentence, her teary eyes meeting hers.

" He is."

That hit Alpha right in the chest, because Lara never asked for anything like that, but now she was there, vulnerable, broken, practically begging.

"Just until I can fall asleep, please."

Her voice cracked at the end.

Manon felt all the resistance within her give way once more, she slowly lay back down, pulling Lara back into her arms until the omega's head rested beneath her chin.

Then he began to caress her slowly, her hair, her back, her waist.

Gentle, protective, almost instinctive movements.

" It's OK."

His hoarse voice vibrated close to her ear.

"I'll stay."

Lara let out a trembling breath, as if she had been holding her breath ever since Manon threatened to get out of bed.

The alpha kissed the top of her head for a long time.

"Now try to get some sleep."

The omega shook her head immediately.

" No."

Manon let out a weak laugh through her nose.

"You need to rest."

"I don't want to sleep."

She looked up at the alpha again.

They were so close that Manon could feel her breath against her skin.

"I'm not going to waste the little time I still have with you sleeping."

And there it was, the phrase that completely destroyed what remained of Manon. The alpha remained motionless for a few seconds, her hand still caressing her hair, but now more slowly.

Even sadder.

Because Lara spoke like someone counting down the last hours before losing something important. Manon brought her face closer to Lara's until their foreheads touched.

"Don't talk like that."

But Lara only held her tighter.

"Then give me a reason not to speak."

The silence that followed almost suffocated them both, because Manon had no answer. Lara noticed it immediately, the way Manon's shoulders tensed, the way the alpha looked away, as if each word Lara spoke reopened a wound she was desperately trying to keep closed.

Then, slowly, the omega relaxed against her and released the pheromones, soft and calming.

The sweet scent slowly spread through the room, enveloping Manon like a warm blanket in the middle of winter. The reaction was immediate; the alpha's breathing gradually slowed, her tense muscles began to relax under Lara's hands.

The omega gently stroked her jaw.

"I'm sorry," the voice came out softly. "I didn't mean to upset you."

Manon slowly opened her eyes to look at her, and Lara smiled slightly. Sadly.

"It's best to leave it alone."

The alpha frowned slightly.

But before she could answer, Lara took a deep breath and continued:

"You spent the whole day talking about what I deserve."

Her fingers slowly slid down the back of Manon's neck.

"So now it's my turn."

Manon let out a weak laugh through her nose.

"Lara"

"No, shut up for a moment."

That brought an involuntary smile to the alpha's face.

"You should never belittle yourself like that."

Her eyes turned serious again.

"Because you are the best thing that ever happened to me, the best alpha I could have."

Manon held her breath, as if the world had stopped for a full second.

Lara brought her face closer to hers.

"And I hate it when you act like you're less than that."

The omega's hand slowly caressed her face.

"You shouldn't accept anyone who doesn't see the incredible value you have." Manon's eyes began to well up with tears again.

"No one who only looks at your body"

Lara smiled slightly.

"Despite him being ridiculously handsome."

The alpha let out a low, hoarse laugh.

But Lara didn't stop.

"Someone needs to love everything about you."

Her voice became softer.

More passionate.

"Her gentle way of caring for people without even realizing it."

"The way you become overly loyal to the person you love."

"Those awful jokes that you tell with the utmost confidence."

Manon closed her eyes, completely surrendered to her voice.

And Lara continued to gently stroke her hair.

"Someone has to understand your silences."

"Their strange customs."

"The fact that you smoke when you're anxious, even while pretending everything is fine."

"His laughter always comes at the worst times."

Alpha let out a trembling breath.

Because nobody had ever noticed any of that before.

Nobody.

But Lara did.

Always.

The omega rested her forehead against hers.

"You deserve someone who looks at you and thinks, 'How lucky I am to have found this woman.'"

Manon's eyes opened slowly, vulnerable, almost destroyed by emotion.

Then Lara smiled, caressing her face with her thumb.

"Because that's exactly what I think when I look at you."

Manon was unable to answer.

She didn't even try; Lara's words pierced through all the walls she had spent years building around her own heart, and, for the first time in a long time, it hurt, because it was good, sincere, it was exactly everything she had ever wanted to hear.

Tears came before she could stop them; Manon lowered her head, hiding her face in Lara's hair.

The omega felt her body tremble, so she just hugged her tighter, without saying anything, and they stayed like that for long minutes, maybe half an hour, maybe more.

The room remained immersed in the soft darkness of dawn while the entire world seemed too distant to reach them.

Finally, Manon took a deep breath, lifted her head, her eyes still red, stood up, and went towards the window.

The omega chuckled softly.

"What are you doing?"

"Come here, look at this with me."

"You're strange."

"I know."

"But I accept."

Then he got out of bed, crossed the room silently, and settled down near the open window, leaning against the small cupboard behind it.

The cool morning air crept in slowly; the city seemed asleep. Up above, the sky was clear, dotted with stars. Manon watched for a few seconds before leaning over Lara to reach for the pack of cigarettes in the drawer.

Lara immediately raised an eyebrow.

"Of course."

The alpha smiled slightly, lighting her cigarette. The flame illuminated her face for a moment as she took a slow drag, gazing thoughtfully at the sky before pointing upwards.

"Do you see that one over there?"

Lara followed the direction of the finger.

"I think so."

"That is the Andromeda constellation."

"And that one over there," she says, pointing to one located near the previous one. "That's the constellation Perseus."

"In Greek legend, Perseus saved Andromeda; their love story is beautiful and enduring."

The omega shakes her head in disbelief that it's true.

"Do you really know this or are you making it up?"

"Perhaps a fifty percent chance for each."

Lara laughed.

And that sound made Manon smile.

"Our love is the same as theirs, I promise that one day, my love, I will come back to rescue you."

"Manon."

"It is serious."

And it was so beautiful that Lara just stood there for a few seconds, observing it.

"There's something else."

Her voice came out lower.

Lara tilted her head.

"What?"

"Constellations only make sense when you connect the dots."

The omega remained silent.

Okay.

"You did this to me."

Lara's eyes softened, Manon continued gazing at the sky.

"I was just a bunch of loose pieces, and you put everything together, making me seem whole."

For a few seconds neither of them spoke, then Lara took the cigarette from her fingers, and Manon's eyes widened.

"You hate smoking."

"I still hate it." Even so, he took a small drag, immediately grimacing.

"This is awful."

The alpha laughed, a genuine laugh, one of those rare ones. Lara watched her smile and felt her chest tighten, because that was exactly what made it worthwhile.

He returned the cigarette.

"That was terrible."

"Then why did you do it?"

Lara rested her head on her shoulder and answered without hesitation.

"Because I wanted to spend the early morning hours with you."

Manon turned her face away, her heart aching in a good way, then kissed the top of her head as the two continued gazing at the stars; for a few hours, the entire universe existed just for them.

Before returning to bed, the two lingered for a few more minutes observing the sky. The cigarette was finished, and the silence between them was comfortable, the kind that didn't need filling. Lara continued to lean on Manon's shoulder, gazing at the stars.

Then she whispered, "I wish this night could last forever."

The alpha turned her face towards her, her eyes soft, sad in a beautiful way.

"Me too."

Lara smiled.

But her smile faltered when Manon continued, "But we can't stay awake forever."

The omega pouted immediately.

"Who decided this?"

"Your body."

"Traitor."

Manon let out a low laugh.

The alpha put one arm behind her back and the other under her legs.

Lara's eyes widened.

"Manon!"

Before she could complain any further, she was already being carried away.

"You weigh less than a pillow."

"Lie."

"Or maybe I'm too strong."

"Manon."

Alpha simply smiled, pausing for a moment before the window. The sky still shone above them, the stars scattered across the darkness. Manon tilted her head and placed a lingering kiss on Lara's forehead.

Smooth.

Tender

Then he pointed to the sky.

"Do you see this?"

Lara nodded.

"You deserve for all your nights to be this bright."

The omega felt her eyes welling up with tears instantly, because Manon rarely said things like that, and when she did, it seemed like the absolute truth.

"All of them?"

"All."

"Even the bad ones?"

"Especially the bad ones."

Lara buried her face in her neck, trying in vain to hide her smile.

Manon led her back to bed. The two lay down together again, Lara immediately seeking her warmth, snuggling against her chest, her eyes already heavy with sleep. The early morning hours were slowly approaching, with Manon running her fingers through her hair, caressing it, until she noticed that the omega's breathing was becoming increasingly slow.

Lara's eyes began to close, almost overcome by exhaustion, when she felt Manon's lips on her hair, a light kiss, and heard the alpha's voice almost in a whisper, as if she were revealing a secret.

"I love you."

Lara smiled without opening her eyes, her heart warmed, but Manon continued, because that night had broken down all the remaining barriers.

"And all I want is for you to be happy, even if I'm not the person who causes that feeling."

Lara's breath hitched for a moment, and when she opened her eyes, she met Manon's.

The alpha stroked her face one last time.

"You deserve all the love in the world."

The omega didn't answer, not because she didn't want to, but because at that moment sleep finally overtook her and she fell asleep with a smile on her lips, while Manon remained awake for a few more minutes. Observing the woman in her arms, as if trying to memorize every detail of her before the night ended.

February 20, 10 AM

.

Lara woke up slowly, remaining motionless for a few seconds, her eyes still heavy with sleep, her face buried in the pillow.

And then he realized, the warmth had vanished, his body reacted even before his mind understood, his hand slid across the mattress. Searching and finding only cold sheets.

Empty.

"Manon?"

Her voice came out hoarse. No answer, Lara sat up in bed immediately, her heart racing.

"Manon?"

He stood up.

He went to the bathroom.

Nothing.

Kitchen.

Nothing.

Room.

Nothing.

Each empty room seemed to tear a piece from her; the apartment was too quiet, too cold, too lonely. It was then that she saw the bouquet of flowers and the letter from the previous night on the desk.

Lara stopped walking.

No.

No.

No.

Her legs simply gave way and she fell to the floor before she could even reach the chair, tears welling up instantly. Because she already knew, even without opening the letter, even without reading a single word.

She already knew.

Manon had left.

Her hands trembled as she picked up her cell phone; the screen lit up with a message from Manon, an apology, nothing more.

Manz 🖤

Lara read it once.

Then another one.

And another one.

Until the words began to blur with tears, her finger hovered over the keyboard.

She wanted to answer, wanted to ask why, wanted to beg her to come back, wanted to scream, wanted to say that it wasn't fair, but nothing came out.

After what felt like an eternity, he simply blocked the contact.

And silence returned.

She hugged her knees, sitting on the floor trying to breathe, trying not to remember, but it was impossible.

All night long

"You deserve for all your nights to be this bright."

"I love you."

"More than anything."

The words echoed inside her like ghosts, and it hurt because now that side of the bed was empty, because now the apartment was empty, because now she missed someone who, just a few hours before, had been in her arms.

The phone was back in her hands, and this time she looked for another contact.

Sophia.

His fingers lingered on the screen for a few seconds, then he called, but the call didn't even complete two rings.

"Lara?"

The worried voice came immediately, and that was enough; the barrier she was trying to keep up crumbled.

Sophia heard the first sob.

Then the second one.

"Lara?"

"She left."

The silence on the other end lasted only a moment.

"I'm going."

"Sophia..."

"I'm going."

Lara closed her eyes.

The tears continued to fall.

"At least stay with me today."

Her voice came out broken. And Sophia

answered without hesitation.

"I'll stay."

For the first time that morning, Lara was able to breathe a little easier. Knowing that Sophia would be there with her made everything better.

That's when Lara decided to end it all at once. She stood up, picked up the letter Manon had written to her, and read every detail.

Your manz
For my pretty omega

My lover
open this when wake up
i will always love you

My lover,

If you're reading this, then I am already gone. And I hate it, I hate it because I spent the entire night by your side wanting to give up on this decision. Every time you smiled, every time you touched me, every time I looked at you sleeping, I found another reason to stay.

But I left anyway, and there is no pretty excuse good enough for that. The flowers I left for you were not chosen by chance, the red tulips because they mean true love, because that's what you were for me, the truest love I have ever known. The kind of love that doesn’t need to be perfect to be real. And the white jasmines because they mean pure love, sincerity, and the hope for happiness. Because when I think of you, that’s what I wish, for you to be happy, even if that happiness doesn’t have my name on it.

Lara, you deserve so much more than I could give you, you deserve someone who stays, someone who doesn’t run away when things get tough, someone who’s not a coward, because that's exactly what I was. You deserve an alpha who won’t abandon you on a silent morning after promising to love you the night before, you deserve an alpha who chooses you every day, and I failed at that. Maybe one day you’ll hate me, maybe one day you’ll stop thinking about me, maybe you’ll find someone who can love you the way I never could, and as much as that idea breaks my heart, I hope it happens. Because you deserve the whole world, love. If there’s anything I want you to keep from me, it’s not my leaving, it’s that night, the stars, your smile, your head resting on my shoulder. I love you, more than anything, more than I was ever able to show, and maybe it’s precisely for that reason that leaving hurts so much.

Goodbye, ‘mega. With all the love that exists in me,

Your alpha, Manon

With tears streaming down her face, Lara could only think of one thing.

’It's that simple,
Its over.”
