Work Text:
They are the Vees. Appreciation comes in the forms they always expect. Always.
“Good work,” goes Vox.
“Lovely fit, luv,” goes Velvette.
“Thank you soo much~” goes Val.
Compliments are as compliments do. They are the same compliments they give to their workers, except for how they all know the appreciation between each other is more sincere, because they are as willing to tell each other when something is not appreciated.
“Were you even trying?” goes Vox.
“I wouldn’t put that on my worst enemy,” goes Velvette.
Val throws something.
Words are the best way to show appreciation. All three of them are aware. After all, why make it a question when something is appreciated?
An adjustment of his cuff links. Vox smiles and says nothing.
A painting of her. Velvette hangs it in her office and says nothing.
A light touch of forehead to forehead. Val closes his eyes to take in Vox’s warmth and says nothing.
Appreciation comes in the forms they always expect. Words are the best way to show appreciation. There is nothing to question when it is said out loud.
A silent arm around her. Velvette leans into Vox’s touch and says nothing.
A squeeze of his hand. Val squeezes Velvette’s hand in return and says nothing.
“I suppose if I only had to fuck one person, it wouldn’t be so bad if it was you.”
Vox splutters, holds Val tighter, and pretends he isn’t grinning like a wild man as he increases his pace.
