Chapter 1: Watching

Summary:

It knows. It always knows.

Chapter Text

Mob had been on edge recently, especially after Verity's warning.

"Something is coming in three days."

That had shook him, now he feels rather confident after all, he had been preparing to survive whatever was coming, yet he was sure it was Verity. Once he had reached the third and final day, he had decided he would escape to his watchtower, unfortunately for him...

..He wasnt the brightest, and before the falling of the sun, he had told Verity exactly where he was headed to, the watchtower.

He had found this...creature in a box a few weeks back, which had been useful till this very moment, he was terrified of what was coming, so as he left, he had talked to it;

"You know Verity.."

"I think youve been in this world longer than I have" He continued.

"I think you knew what happened to those villagers.."

"So I'm gonna leave you here.."

-------------------
"That wont help." Verity responded, half mocking, half warning.

"I'm going to my lookout."

"I KNOW WHERE YOUR BASE IS."

"Yeah, yeah, course you do, you know- you know everything." Mob said in a careless voice, while placing blocks at his door, a futile attempt to contain Verity, an all knowing being.

"ITS ALREADY OVER MOB." Verity yelled through the walls of Mob's soon to be abandoned base.

"YOU ARE MINE."

"MIIIIIII-"

that was the last real coversaion he had with Verity.
He was currently perched in his lookout. That night, he had noticed the sun's beautiful red bled down faster than usual, then falling into a great darkness, darker than normal.
He had previously attempeed to sleep, but got the chilling message:

"Verity is nearby. You cannot fall asleep."

It had freaked him out enouh to not try to sleep at all, he had decided he would stay awake in his watchtower for the remainder of the evening, no matter what.

He had checked over his materials, a sword, a torch, full armour, he had then decided he was okay, having grown a tiny spout of confidence.

He had went down from his tower, to catch some fresh air with his new grown confidence less afraid of that shining, yelliw ball, even if it wasnt there.
As he reached he bottom, he had decided to double check for Verity.

He heard its music. A tune he knew all too well.

Verity's music.

"Th-Thats Verity's music" he choked out, looking for the source, he had decided to whip around his flashlight.

.

There it was.

atleast 12 feet all, standing oposite Mob, who had frozen in fear.

"Verity..?" he asked

It lowered itself into a pouncing like position so fast Mob couldve sworn he heard bones crunching, it sounded so disgusting he almost gagged.

"OH my go- NO VERITY- VERITY!"

It charged. Mob ran. he had run so fast up the stairs he stared tripping over himself.

He frantically started placing blocks of wood on the staircase, as if an attempt to stop Verity.

The screeching coming rom Verity was so loud Mob started feeling something warm trickling down his ears. Once he had reached the top, he hit the button to his iron door so fast that it left a mark on his hand, but he couldn't care, the adrenaline shooting through him had temporarily stopped the pain, which was a later problem he could care lessbright now, when a man eating monster was after him. He again started placing blocks of wood infront of his door,.

"Get away get away GET AWAY GET AWAY GET WAY.!" he yelled, panicked.

He huddled against the window, looking at the door, expecting something, but that thing never came.

"What did i do? WHAT DID I DO?" Mob yelled.

The screeching continued, as well as scratching, Verity was scratching the wooden support pillars.
.

.

.
Silence.

The silence was deafening.

Mob made a scoff like sound, more of a release of held in breath.

The silence continued for a few more seconds before mob, broke the silence by saying;

"Okay...I'm not dumb though, I'm not checking out there." "I've watched enough movies to know that's a bad si-"

SHATTER.

He quickly turned behind him to see Verity, not having just cracked it, it exploded, shrapnel flying everwhere, unavoidable, many pieces had cut into Mobs skin. His elbows, arms, and left cheek. Then he felt it, something cold and long grabbing him, it was lung-crushing, he passed out in mere seconds. The next day he had awoken back in his familiar base.

Then.

All of the pain came rushing back, the memories.

He had screamed in agony, since well, there were no painkillers in minecraft, or whatever.

He was gripping the bedsheets so tightly his knuckles immediately turned a shade of light grey.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" he wailed.

Verity, now back to normal, whatever you would call it, just sat on the crafting table.

Watching.
