♡ Once you get closer to him, this angel will hug you at any given occasion. Literally.
♡ Visiting the bookshop? You get a welcome hug.
You're cold? You get a hug (and a blanket).
You're telling him about something you're proud of? You get a hug.
You're feeling lonely or upset? You get an extra comforting hug.
You just want some closeness and affection? You get lots of hugs.
♡ And i swear, Aziraphale gives THE BEST hugs in the entire world. He is so soft, perfect for snuggling and he is always warm. That must be some sort of a miracle.
♡ He makes sure that you always get all the hugs you deserve. And not just hugs, of course – he will happily hold your hand, rub your back or let you sit on his lap. All you need to do is ask him <3
"My dear, what's wrong? Now, now, don't say it's nothing, I can see when you're acting all jittery..." he says as he's already putting a gentle hand on your shoulder.
♡ And he is never one to deny you when youre asking for affection. Even if he's in the middle of something important at the moment, he promises you he'll be with you as soon as he can.
♡ That being said, please do cling to him when he is talking to customers at the bookshop. It's an excellent excuse for him to get them out of the shop and an excuse for you to hug him.
♡ On the days when you feel more sensitive than usual, Aziraphale is extra gentle with you – both physically and emotionally. He is constantly making sure that you're okay and comfortable, practically doting on you, but not in an overly overwhelming way.
"Would you like to come with me and make tea together?"
"We can stay like this as long as you need to, my dear. There is no hurry."
"I'm not going anywhere, darling. You're safe here"
"It is perfectly alright to cry. Let it out, I'll be here the entire time, I promise."
♡ He can hold you for hours if neccessary. And he will refuse to let go of you until you promise him that you're feeling better.
♡ Aziraphale never wants you to feel like you are a bother to him – because you truly never are. And especially because of something like affection. He knows how important it is for humans and seeing you happy makes him happy too! He is very glad to help and if said helping includes giving you hugs and comfort – what kind of angel would he be to deny?
♡ He is genuinely happy to spend his evening with a book in one hand and holding you cuddled up to his side with the other. He will even read to you if you ask him to.
♡ When you tell him (or when he sees) that you're feeling down, he is quick to get you seated on a sofa, give you a nice fluffy blanket and make you both tea. Once he returns, he sits down next to you and holds you close to his chest as you talk about whatever you need to get out of your mind. Or you can simply stay silent, if that's what you need, as Aziraphale gently rubs your back.
♡ He loves braiding and playing with Crowley's hair, so it's sort of a reflex that his fingers start to play with your hair when the embrace becomes a longer one.
♡ Forehead kisses! Aziraphale is a being of love and affection, so of course forehead kisses are a must! If you already were melting in his arms from all the gentle affection, when he presses a tender kiss to your forehead, you somehow melt even more.
♡ If the world around is too overwhelming for you at the moment, Aziraphale can materialize his wings and wrap them around you for extra comfort. They also work great for muffling out noise. And generate extra warmth! And are very soft!
♡ Whenever you come to him for a hug, Aziraphale always reminds you – either through words or actions – that you are so very, very loved.
