First thing Kwon Ohyul would feel is not confusion yet—just pain. That heavy, sinking realization that the night before wasn’t a dream. The cheating. The bar. The drinking until everything blurred. Then the unfamiliar ceiling.
His body would react before his mind catches up: dry mouth, headache, the kind of exhaustion that feels like his bones are tired of holding him together.
Then—
“Papa!”
That single word would freeze him.
Because it doesn’t belong to him.
A small boy appears at the doorway. Too small to be talking like that so confidently, too innocent for the chaos Ohyul’s life has become. The child looks at him like it’s the most natural thing in the world, like he’s been waiting for him there.
And then the second shock arrives.
A man steps in after him.
Calm. Controlled. Observing too carefully.
“I’m Kim Ryul,” the man says, as if introducing himself is the least important part of this situation. His eyes flick briefly to the child, then back to Ohyul. “And… Baobao usually calls me his father.”
That’s when it becomes weird.
Not just “I woke up somewhere strange” weird.
But something is wrong with reality weird.
The child tugs at Ohyul’s sleeve again. “Papa, hug me.”
Ryul’s expression tightens—not angry, but confused in a way that suggests this has never happened before.
Silence stretches.
Then Ryul asks carefully, “What did you do last night?”
And that question hits harder than the hangover.
Because Ohyul doesn’t remember coming here.
He remembers breaking.
So now he has to face a possibility he doesn’t want to consider:
Either he really did something he can’t recall…
Or this child is calling him “Papa” for a reason that has nothing to do with coincidence.
And Kim Ryul is about to find out the truth at the same time he does.
