Chapter Text
It was a warm, sunny day at U.A. Academy. The birds were chirping a calm melody. It was the last week before the summer holidays, and everybody was excited. The exams were over, and the students were enjoying their lives.
"Izuku?" asked Aizawa-sensei in a loud tone. "Are you with us?"
"Uh, yea!" Izuku responded as fast as possible. "I'm sorry."
"Tch, stupid nerd."
"Bakugo, not in that tone, or you'll end up in Principal Nezu's office again." Aisawa-Sensei warned
"Whatever. It's the last week before the holidays. Who cares about classes anymore?" Bakugo said in an annoyed tone. "At the end of the day, I was the best in class."
"That's true, but that's not the point. Please apologize to Midoriya."
"Never."
"Bakugo!"
"Tch. Sorry, stupid Nerd."
"It's okay, Kacchan. I forgive you." A bright smile spread across Izuku's face.
"So, where were we? Ahh, yes, the school festival," Aizawa continued talking.
The blond turned back and looked Izuku in the face.
"See you after class, behind the school, stupid nerd."
"Uh, okay, Kacchan."
After that sentence, Izuku got goosebumps. His palms were sweating.
What does Kacchan want from me? he thought. I hope it's nothing bad...
------------------------------------
After class, behind the school...
"Kacchan? Where are you?" asked the young boy.
BOOOMM!
Izuku turned around and saw an enorm explosion behind him.
"Kacchan! What are you doing?"
"Stupid Deku!"
He ran toward Izuku, trying to hit him with his quirk, but Izuku was fast enough to defend himself.
Another attack came from Katsuki.
"DIEE!"
"Kacchan, what are you doing?" he asked again.
"JUST DIE, STUPID NERD!"
"No, I'm not going to die because of you." Izuku said loudly
"I don't care, dumbass!"
Another attack followed, but Izuku managed to defend himself again.
The young boy thought, One more attack and he might be dead.
His breathing became faster. What should he do? He didn't know.
"DIEEE DEKUUU!" Katsuki screamed in a brutal tone.
He was trying to activate his quirk again, but suddenly some bandages wrapped around him and held him back.
"What the hell?! What are these?!" Katsuki shouted
"Aizawa-sensei..." Izuku relaxed.
"Young Bakugo, what in the world were you doing to Midoriya?" Aizawa asked.
"We were just practicing, right, Deku?" Bakugo said, giving him a deadly glare.
"Uhh..."
"Midoriya? Were you two really practicing, or was he trying to kill you?"
Izuku's mind went blank. He didn't know how to answer.
After a moment, he finally spoke.
"We were practicing some new moves."
"Alright. Please go practice at Ground Beta and not behind the school."
"Okay," the young boy responded quietly.
"And you, young Bakugo, please don't try difficult moves on Midoriya. You know his quirk is still new to him. He can't use it like you use yours. He doesn't have the same experience."
"Tch. I know."
He rolled his eyes.
After that, Aizawa turned and walked back toward the school.
"Kacchan..?"
Katsuki didn't say anything. He simply turned around and walked toward the dorms.
------------------------------------
Back at the dorms, Izuku saw Todoroki.
"Todorokii!" he shouted like a little kid.
"Izuku?" Todoroki's expression changed from neutral to worried.
"Is everything okay?" he asked.
"Yes... no... I don't know."
"Tell me about it."
"Uh, okay...
Kacchan was trying to kill me back at school, but he couldn't because Aizawa-sensei came, and I'm so scared."
"Whoa, slow down, Izuku. I didn't understand anything."
"Okay. Bakugo was trying to kill me, but he couldn't do it. I'm happy about that because Aizawa-sensei came at the right moment and saved me."
"Okay... Did you tell him that Bakugo was trying to kill you?"
"Eh, no..."
"Why, Izuku?!"
"If I had told him what really happened back at school, Kacchan would probably kill me later. I don't want to risk that."
...
"Okay, I understand," Shoto said in a calm tone. "But..."
"IZUKUUUUUU!" Ochako suddenly shouted.
"Are you okay?!"
"Oh, hello, Ochako," Midoriya responded quietly. "I think I'm okay... yeah."
"Oh, thank goodness!"
"Mhm."
"I wanted to ask you something about the school festival."
"Oh, okay. Tell me more."
But Izuku wasn't really in the mood to talk about the upcoming festival. He was still terrified by what had happened back at school.
"Okay! So, Mina and I had the idea of organizing a Café! It would be soooo cool, trust me!" Ochako smiled brightly. "You know Mina is the best when it comes to ideas like that."
"Great idea..."
"Izuku? Are you really okay? Do you need medical help or something?"
"Ochako...," Todoroki said calmly, "Katsuki was trying to kill Izuku."
"WHAAAT?! No way! Oh my gosh!" she screamed.
She immediately stepped forward and wrapped her arms tightly around Izuku.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't know! I'm so sorry!"
"It's okay. You couldn't have known."
"Mhm."
She hugged Izuku even tighter.
-------------------------------------
Dinnertime
"Hmmmm, the food is absolutely delicious!" Kaminari shouted happily.
"PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP," Bakugo yelled.
"Hey, Bakugo, please calm down," Kirishima said.
"NO! SHUT THE FUCK UP, DUMBASS!"
"Oh, okay... I'm sorry."
"Tch."
"Well, guys, Ochako and I had a grand idea for the upcoming school festival!" Mina announced excitedly.
"Oh? Okay, tell us more," Momo said.
"Yes, I'm excited," Jiro added.
"Okay, class! The idea is to plan a Café!" Mina screamed loudly. "Tadaaa!"
"Great idea!" Kaminari shouted.
"Yes, ribbit," Asui agreed.
"What the hell?" Bakugo yelled. "What a childish idea. I'm not going to help."
He crossed his arms and rolled his eyes.
"Oh, Bakuuu, pleeease!" Mina begged. "It would be great!"
"I don't care."
"Come on, Bakubro," Eijiro said.
"PLEASE!" everybody shouted at once.
"No way. Alright, I'm going back to my dorm."
"No, Bakugooo!" Mina called after him.
Before Bakugo could leave, Mina quickly grabbed his arm.
"Just hear us out!"
"Tchh, I don't care."
Bakugo stopped walking but looked annoyed.
"Fine. You have one minute."
Mina grinned from ear to ear.
"See? I knew he would stay!"
"I said one minute."
The whole class laughed, while Bakugo looked as if he regretted stopping.
--------------------------
Bakugo stormed out of the dining hall, slamming the door behind him.
"Tch. Café. What a stupid idea."
He shoved his hands into his pockets and walked toward the dorms. The evening sun was slowly setting, casting long shadows across the campus.
As he rounded a corner, he spotted a familiar head of messy green hair.
"Deku."
Izuku froze.
"K-Kacchan?"
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Bakugo clicked his tongue.
"Tch. Why are you looking at me like that?"
Izuku lowered his gaze.
"I..."
The memories from earlier that day flashed through his mind. The explosions. The fear. The feeling that he might not make it out unharmed.
Bakugo noticed his hesitation and frowned.
"You still thinking about that?"
Izuku nervously played with his fingers.
"A little..."
"Tch."
An awkward silence fell between them.
"I wasn't going to kill you, idiot."
Izuku looked up in surprise.
"It didn't really look that way."
"Whatever. You're still alive, aren't you?"
"Kacchan, that's not exactly comforting."
Bakugo rolled his eyes.
"Tch. Stop acting so weak."
The blond walked past him.
For a second, Izuku thought the conversation was over.
Then Bakugo suddenly stopped.
"Hey, Deku."
"Yeah?"
"If anyone asks, we were training. Got it?"
Izuku hesitated.
"...Okay."
"Good."
Without another word, Bakugo continued toward the dorms, leaving Izuku standing alone in the hallway.
Kacchan is acting strange today...
Izuku watched him disappear around the corner, unsure of what to think.
