Work Text:
Izuku stood teaching the last bit of the subject that he could before the bell rang. In a moment he would hear said bell and every single one of his students would jump out of their seats celebrating. Summer break was fun for them, although Izuku found himself wondering,
What would he even do this year other than hero work-?
He had sort of just realized that he wouldn't be constantly busy like usual, and only sometimes busy. Which he didn't like the idea of. Of course summers before had been slightly quieter, considering he couldn't do hero work, but even then he would prepare and make teaching plans for next year. It was almost stressing him out..
"Mr. Midoriya? Are you alright?" asked one of his students.
"Hm...? Oh! Yes my apologies, now where were we?" He replied, snapping himself out of it.
Jeez I gotta quit doing that.
He only got a few words out before the bell rang, and the class erupted into chaos. As he predicted earlier.
“Hey! Remember not to leave my classroom in a mess before you leave!” He glared at some of his students as they picked up some tossed papers.
Everyone shuffled out happily, all talking to each other about their plans. Izuku smiled and waved, occasionally giving a high five to a few of his students. Although he stood there again feeling a bit of a looming nervous feeling. Maybe he was afraid to be doing hero work? Why would he be afraid of that though, it's not like he's been through worse.
“Izu-. I mean uh, Mr. Midoriya-?”
Izuku looked up to see Kota who was apparently still here. He had a habit of being the last one out the door every class. He had a fist up to Izuku.
“Don't leave me hanging-.” He joked with a smirk.
Izuku rolled his eyes with a smile and ruffled around Kota’s hair with the hat he always wore.
“Uh huh. I better hope you don't cause trouble over break, I won't be there to cover for you.”
“Whatttt-? Me? Like, your top student?” Kota crossed his arms with a smug expression.
“Top student? Sure. Whatever floats your boat.” He teased while walking over to his desk.
“Well like, I think to you I’m your favorite clearly so-”
“I don't have favorites Kota, I told you that-.” Izuku glanced at him.
“Sure sure. Welp! Have a great summer then!” He started walking out before pausing and turning around.
“How's It going with Uravity-?” He quickly asked.
Izuku paused. God damn the media. One interaction and everyone knows about it. Not to mention his students constantly asked him for any details on the people he worked with.
“That's private. Now go on now go enjoy your summer-” He chucked a crumpled up paper at Kota making the boy laugh before he left.
Izuku's smile faded as he ran his hands through his hair with a sigh. It had only been a couple months or more until both of them decided to stay friends. Izuku was too anxious about something like that. Someone could hurt Ochako, use her against him, god knows what else could happen like that. He could get her hurt or worse. Who knows whatever is still out to get him.
Izuku looked up slightly and sort of brought himself back down to Earth for a moment. Realizing he was shivering and sweating profusely. He leaned back in his chair and took a couple shaky deep breaths before packing his things in his backpack. Walking out of the classroom.
He hated when that happened. It wasn't like how it used to be when he was younger. He didn't really know what it was. Of course he also knew how to hide it. It was immature in his opinion. He's a grown adult now, he shouldn't be afraid of things that happened years ago. Hell, he declined working in the same agency as Katsuki for the same reason.
He stood in a train that was always empty at this time of day. His phone buzzed in his pocket making him flinch. Taking it out he saw a message from Katsuki.
Katsuki: Yo, Izuku. We're doing another small get together soon. Are you coming?
…
He felt himself shiver for some reason, quickly typing a reply.
Izuku: I don't know yet, sorry. I’ll see if I can.
He turned his phone on ‘Do Not Disturb’ before putting it back in his pocket. He stared out the window at the city before arriving at the right station.
He walked down the quiet street before getting to his apartment. Unlocking the door and walking in before locking it again. He set down his things and walked to his room to put away his blazer and tie, not really caring to completely change out of his usual outfit.
He sat down at the small table in the kitchen. Looking out the window at the dark dusk sky, now with just streaks of pink and orange. God he felt tired. He stood up, about to make food, until an alert popped up on his phone.
He recognized the sound, checked which area it was in, before tapping a button on his briefcase that activated his suit and leaving the apartment.

Izuku arrived at the scene where a group of guys were running from a few other pro heroes that had been called over. He heard the loud and recognizable banging of a gun or two and rushed over.
The pros were able to disarm and catch the group of younger boys. Police arrived and were able to take them away. Izuku stood watching when suddenly someone poked his side.
“WHA- Oh, uh, Hi Kacchan-.” He recollected himself as he smiled awkwardly at the familiar face.
“It works on you every time I swear.” Katsuki smirked as he stood next to Izuku, also watching with his arms crossed over his chest.
“Guns huh-? I guess they're getting desperate.” He stated in a low and uneasy tone.
“Makes me wonder they even got them. A few young teens with guns in the streets. Let's hope it's not something bigger than this.” Izuku spoke back with similar unease.
Katsuki looked down at Izuku and tilted his head a smidge. Izuku looked exhausted, that idiot. Couldn't ever take care of himself to save his life even as an adult. Old habits die hard he supposed.
“How are the raccoons that infest your class-?” He asked Izuku with a smirk.
“Quit calling them that-. But my students are fine. All of them were excited when school got out.” Izuku responded feeling glad his students could get a break.
Both of them stood there silently. Izuku and Katsuki always had this weird awkward air between them. One that their friends had pointed out numerous times. Although the two boys wouldn't ever really talk about it to eachother-.
Izuku cleared his throat and continued the conversation, “Well I’m glad nobody was hurt. Seems those three were just trying to cause a ruckus thankfully, and hopefully it uhm, doesn't lead to something bigger-”
“Izuku, are you okay?” Katsuki looked down at him with concern, now noticing Izuku was shivering.
Izuku tilted his head looking confused with a small smile in Katsuki’s perspective, but inside he was freaking out that it was noticeable.
“Hm-? I’m fine. Why do you ask?” He asked, sounding fine but, not really looking like it.
Katsuki was about to respond but both of their phones got another alert. The moment Katsuki looked back up, Izuku was off and away.
Katsuki stood there for a moment with worry, before launching himself off to go aid in the situation nearby
