It all started in grade five. Derek had been in scouting for four years, and it was his last year of Cubs. Every year, they get new members, which is normal, but Derek didn't know that his life will change. Avery, was one of the new members of his Cubs group, and they quickly became good friends, with their shared love for tag, and their hyperactive energy matching the other. What Avery didn't know, was that he had developed feelings for him, which he was really good at hiding. At least he thought he was good at hiding his feelings.
Derek was never good with feelings, hell, he just realized he liked girls, and that he was bisexual, and demiromantic, he didn't know how to deal with this mess of emotions. He thought he lost feelings for Avery after a while, but after losing feelings for his girl best-friend Alexa, he had fallen for Avery once again. This time, with the clear intention of knowing his feelings a little bit more.
Their friendship blossomed like a spring flower, getting closer by the day, to the point they considered each other as best-friends, but Derek always wanted to be more... Maybe if he could just get in contact with him.. But Avery didn't have any social media (this is a lie, I figured out he had Messanger Kids like two days ago, and got very mad bcuz he never told me).
Derek just had to deal with the fact he only saw Avery once every week, on Tuesday, because they went to different schools. He was okay with it though, at least he knew he could see him at least once a week, which was good enough for Derek. At least he can see his face, play games with him, and make him laugh.
