Chapter Text
His stomach growled, echoing in the quiet darkness of the room he temporarily resided in. Fu folded his arms around his middle, even though there was no one around he was still embarrassed. A few hours ago when all the cleaners were gathered in the dining all, Enjin had gone to his room and ordered him to go to dinner. Unfortunately when he got there, nobody had ordered him to actually eat anything. He stayed until someone noticed him standing the corner, and ordered him back to his room. The hunger from not eating a single thing all day started to sink in, as Fu’s mind began to race.
Why would Enjin order him to go to dinner, and not order him to eat anything? Why would they, unless….
They were punishing him….
Yeah that made a lot more sense. He knew the Cleaners would notice him eventually, notice the parasite who took up space, realize how he was too hard to take care of. Subsequently, deciding not to take care of him at all.
It pained Fu’s heart to think about, not because they didn’t care, or didn’t like him. Because, he actually really liked staying with the Cleaners. Sure they were not very direct in giving him orders, but they didn’t pay much attention to him at all. Most days he would stay in his room for hours, until someone ordered him to come out, or clean, or tell him to do anything at all.
“What happened?”
He thought he did good when he beat Jabber in that fight a few weeks ago, Gris the Supporter even went back to get him after he got lost. The doll festival was just 2 weeks ago, he followed orders perfectly. Enjin ordered to get Amo somewhere safe, which he did, and Amo ordered him to get her to Rudo, and he complied. Since then, he’s made sure HQ was spotless, he’s painted his face everyday so nobody has to look at his freaky eyes. He’s done everything he was supposed to, but everyone has been completely avoiding him these past few days.
“It’s over…”
He didn’t want to believe it, but there was no other explanation. His time as a Cleaner hadn’t even started, and it was already ending. They would kick him out soon, he just wish he knew when.
Lost in his thoughts, Fu clung to Hii, the doll was currently sleeping, as the first cracks of dawn shone in thought the grimy windowpane. After all,
Nobody told him to sleep.
