Work Text:

This is crazy. Steve feels crazy. And the way Robin is looking at him; jaw dropped open with a smile that says no way that happened isn’t helping. They’re in Chicago, all six of them. Argyle and Jonathan got in last night and Nancy got in this morning. The boys crashed at his and Eddies, happy to take claim of the pull out couch for three nights. Robin took in Nancy, of course. The two haven’t been alone in the same room for almost two months. There’s no way Steve was even gonna try to get in the middle of that.

None of that is why Steve feels crazy, though. That is all normal; simple and sweetly so. No, Steve feels crazy for another reason entirely. And there’s zero need to second guess his feelings if Robin's equally wild reaction gives him anything to go by.

AKA— what just happened isn’t something Steve should be ‘chill’ about.

“Kyle, hey dude.” Eddie's smile is tight but voice not unkind as he stiffly unwinds his arms from Kyle's shoulders.

He came in out of nowhere, sauntered right into Eddie’s space (a space Steve is currently occupying) and pulled him in for a tight hug. Steve’s eyes went wide the second he realized what was happening and they only got impossibly wider when Kyle let his hand slip a little too low on Eddie’s back.

Yea, there’s no reason Steve should be normal about this. At all.

Kyle is Eddie’s ex boyfriend. Six foot three, green eyes, red hair, and skin so effortlessly polished it only gives Steve more reasons to hate him. And Steve already has plenty of reasons to hate the guy. The way he was always flaky with Eddie is a great start. Maybe following it up with his bad attitude towards Steve. Breaking Eddie’s heart though? That easily sits at Number One.

And now, he goes and pulls this shit, like, all the time. Ever since he found out that Steve and Eddie got together, he’s been popping up every so often, just to bother Eddie for a few uncomfortable minutes. Then he slinks back into the crowded bar or club, like he wasn’t trying to plant some seed in Eddie’s mind, or something.

Obviously Steve isn’t the guy’s biggest fan.

Luckily enough for Kyle though, Steve had never really been around to see him sleaze his way into conversations with Eddie. His work schedule had been too hectic as of late, so he’d always hear about it after, once Eddie was home and in bed. In bed with Steve. Eddie would roll his eyes and get the same annoyed, mildly disgusted look on his face and say something about Kyle showing up and being weird. Asking about how Eddie was, if things with the band were going okay. And apparently, it’s been happening more often, recently, and never when Steve is around.

Steve can definitely see why Kyle would be hung up on Eddie. His boyfriend is hot as fuck, kind beyond belief and very good in bed. Kyle is also the idiot who ruined their relationship on his own time. Ran it right into the ground by always worrying and obsessing over what Eddie was doing, where he was. If Steve was there.

If they were alone.

Which was always the dumbest question to ask and always had Steve immediately responding with the world's bitchiest eye roll.

Of course, Eddie and Steve were alone together. Like all the time. They were roommates, for fucks sake.

Was there a bit of sexual tension? Maybe.

Enough that Kyle had to blow his entire relationship up into smithereens? Definitely not.

Steve had overheard them talking about apartment hunting for fucks sake.

Regardless, that was sometime last year and now Eddie is happily dating Steve. Happily enamored with Steve and their little life together, to be more specific.

And this man has the audacity to saunter his way over to Eddie, Steve and Robin; who are just patiently waiting at the bar for everyone else’s drinks. Kyle, all tall and lanky, with a mousy face that fits his demeanor.

“Hey Kyle,” Steve drags the words out in a sing-song way, waggling his fingers that aren’t gripping his cosmo with a grin that shows off his canines. He knows Kyle won't acknowledge him unless Steve initiates. And Steve will always find time in his day to start a conversation with someone he knows would rather be doing literally anything else. Especially when that person finds Steve annoying and rude.

Might as well give ‘em what they’re expecting, right?

Steve makes a point to step from beside his boyfriend to fully behind him, hooking his chin on Eddie's shoulder and wrapping his arms loosely around his waist. A sign of ownership, if you will.

Kyle, the smug bastard, smiles back at Steve— easy. Like it means nothing. Like Steve being there means nothing.

“Oh, hey Steve.” He waves, something noncommittal, dismissive. “Didn’t think I’d see you here tonight.”

Steve’s eyes go wide for a split second, gaze darting to see the same appalled look on Robin’s face. The fucking gall of this guy.

He laughs, snorts really. Loud. Then he feels Eddie’s shoulders tense beneath his chin, his entire back straightening up a little taller. Eddie’s probably more scared for Kyle than anything else. Nervous because Kyle can hardly handle Steve’s bark, let alone his bite.

“You didn’t think I’d come to my own boyfriends show?” A smile is still plastered on his face, the question sounds like disbelief or astonishment or a bit of both.

“Well you never used to swing by the club on weeknights. Even if Eds was playing.”. He says, grinning something mean.

Eds.

Oh.

Okay.

Steve slides a hand from around his boyfriend’s waist down to slip it into his front pocket and pulls. The movement causes Eddie to stumble back a little, but also has him fully pressing up against the hard line of Steve’s body. He can feel Eddie’s entire body tense this time, calloused hands grip his forearms, squeezing down once— tightly. To any old bar patron, they’d probably think Eddie is being sweet by wrapping Steve closer, enjoying the little protective action.

But Steve knew what Eddie was really saying with that rough grip on his arm.

Relax. I can handle this.

Steve knew Eddie could handle Kyle, having seen him deal with the tantrum Kyle had in their apartment when Eddie had broken up with him last year.

It turned into a bigger mess than it needed to be, honestly. Kyle was being weird and overbearing. Showing up to the apartment at weird times, interrogating Eddie about what Steve’s plans were on their date nights. And so finally, Eddie asked for space. Said he needed some time to think things through.

Two days. The man gave Eddie two days of peace before ambushing the apartment, banging on the door and begging for Eddie to tell him what he’d been up to. If Steve was involved.

So Eddie dumped him.

Steve and Eddie had talked about the breakup immediately, strictly as friends. He let Eddie vent and cry and swear and cry some more on his shoulder most nights after it happened. He helped a friend work through a rough breakup.

And then, at one point— they talked about what Kyle had.

Days after getting together, almost two months since Eddie kicked Kyle out, Steve had been feeling a little too vulnerable and down on himself. He asked Eddie what Kyle had said, what the final straw was for Eddie. He had mentioned, earlier, that Kyle said some mean stuff. Stuff about their friendship. Stuff Eddie hadn’t wanted to get into at the time.

But…

Steve just wanted to know what some absolute idiot could say to lose Eddie while all the while giving Steve a small semblance of hope.

So he pushed for the answer long after the sun went down as they were cuddled up on the couch. Asked Eddie to please say it, that he could handle it while trying his hardest to make the question sound like something he didn’t desperately need answered.

Eddie sighed then pulled Steve closer to his chest before he spoke.

Apparently, Kyle had accused Eddie of picking Steve. Eddie argued back that, really, he was picking himself and if that looked like ‘picking Steve’ to Kyle, that was his own issue.

Kyle’s best and only response to that was to call Steve a whore. Or something. An easy lay Eddie could get whenever the need arose. Eddie didn’t want to get into the details.

Steve knows what happens from there, though. Ran right into the living room the moment he heard a loud thud and was met with the sight of Eddie practically dog walking Kyle to the front door, then tossing him out.

Steve could hardly bite back his smile then when Eddie had first told him the full story. He hardly wants to now, either.

If his boyfriend could handle his loser of an ex before (in Steve’s honor) why would Steve try and get in the way right now?

“What’s that ‘sposed to mean, Kyle?” Eddie asks, tilting his head to the most innocent degree.

This makes Kyle flounder, just a bit. Sure he could banter back and forth with Steve for a bit before he stormed off pissed, but he could never bite back at Eddie, not when they were dating. Not now. And, Eddie hardly ever stepped in; never needed to. He was always happy to watch Steve handle himself in a pinch.

But Steve knew this was the third or fourth time Kyle had bothered Eddie this past month or so, and now he was not only bothering Eddie post concert glow, but he insulted Steve as well; smiling while he did it, like he finally got the upper hand.

Steve knows his boyfriend won’t stand for that.

“I uh— I just…” He trails off, scratches at the back of his head and keeps his eyes glued to the bar top before he continues, “It’s just that he— he never came on weeknights. I just didn’t, I don’t know, didn’t think he’d come here because he’s a teacher or whatever.”

Kyle’s voice is weaker than any excuse he ever threw Eddie’s way. His eyes were still only on the bar top, memorizing water stains and pools of sticky liquor. Steve looks down and notices the dude shuffling his feet, nervous.

Steve can’t help the giggle that slips past his lips, again.

Kyle’s eyes snap to Steve’s. Steve, in turn, just shrugs his shoulders in a weak apology. Sort of like a ‘what are you gonna do?’.

Eddie moves back a smidge, firmly leaning himself back against Steve, and crosses his arms over his chest.

“He’s a nurse, Kyle. Works real long hours, and is real good at what he does. He also happens to make time for me and my shows, even when he works crazy hours.” Steve would bet a million dollars right now that Eddie’s smirking now, the really hot one he does when he knows what the fuck he’s talking about.

Kyle hardly ever went to Eddie’s shows when they were together. Sure, Steve couldn’t always make Corroded Coffin shows a priority when the two of them were friends. Steve didn’t want to seem desperate, alright.

Which means the second they officially started dating, Steve made Eddie’s band a priority of his. Regardless of how often Eddie insisted he didn’t need to. Like Steve would waste another moment in time not seeing the love of his life on stage doing what he loves most.

And really, Kyle was telling on himself if anything.

“Ya know Kyle…” Eddie starts, taking one of his hands off of Steve to grab his beer and take a long swig of it, leaning his head to rest back on Steve's shoulder, “We don’t really play weekday shows anymore. What’s it been, Stevie? Like a month? Maybe two?”

Eddie all but slams his beer back down on the bar top, making sure to let out a satisfied sigh as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand before wrapping that hand tightly around Steve’s wrist.

Steve can’t help but lick his lips and nuzzle his face lightly against his boyfriend's neck. He loves when Eddie gets a little mad. Especially if he is getting a little mad because of Steve; in any capacity.

“I think it’s, like, three really, babe.” Steve makes sure to use his bitchiest smile.

This is when Robin finally steps in. She definitely means to act as a saving grace of sorts but, in reality, she’s kinda the catalyst for the whole event.

Innocent as ever, sweet sweet Robin pops in with an ever so helpful, “Dingus, Jon’s going to smoke a cig and I need some fresh air. Come with?”

Her eyes don’t seem too desperate, and neither does her tone— but Steve can read his best friend better than anyone else. The way Robin’s gaze flickers between the three men, along with the quick squeeze she gives his shoulder…

She definitely wants him to follow her outside.

But, silly Robin, how redundant of her to ask Steve to come blow smoke in the same space she plans on getting some fresh air in. That makes no sense, so…

“Nah, I’m good right here, Rob.” He says, eyes flickering between her and Kyle a relaxed smile spreading on his face.

Both Robin and Kyle's eyes go wide at Steve's response. Steve only smiles, settles further up against Eddie for support and he reaches for his rum and coke.

“I think you should go with her.” He barely tries to hide his words, but he can’t look at any of them when he says it, eyes locked on the sticky bar floor. Like saying it to the floor would stop Robin or Steve or especially Eddie hearing it.

“What was that?” Eddie perks up entirely, body straightening up and out of Steve’s grasp, rigid and sharp and ready to fight. Eddie practically towers over his ex more than he did when he was leaning up against a bar stool.

Steve has never felt more hot and bothered in his fucking life.

Kyle stutters and stumbles over his words, face turning bright red and eyes going wide. He rubs a hand harshly at the back of his neck, looking at anyone and anywhere but the couple that’s in front of him. Hell, his eyes land on Robin and stay there for more than a few seconds.

As if she’ll help you, Steve thinks to himself as his cheeks start to hurt from the smirk that's been painted on his face for several minutes now.

“Nuh— nothing,” He looks to Eddie briefly before continuing, like a fucking idiot, “Just that maybe we could use a moment.. alone.”

He still can’t be bothered to look Eddie in the eyes as he says the craziest things. Can’t even keep his voice level enough that Steve would even be bothered to feel threatened by this absolute buffoon.

Pathetic, all encompassing and then some.

And listen; maybe if Kyle was a better boyfriend to Eddie, maybe if he could look Steve in the eyes when he came around to bug Eddie, maybe if his voice didn’t tremble, maybe he didn’t look to Steve’s best friend for help…

Just maybe Steve would cut the guy some slack.

Oh Well.

The short and terrible silence breaks as Steve clears his throat.

“Okay, you’re done here.” Steve states, plain and simple, beginning to extract himself from his points of contact with Eddie.

Eddie scrambles in hopes to get a tight grip on Steve before he can make an advancement on Kyle, verbal or otherwise. However Steve decides to attack, it would end poorly for whoever was on the receiving end, that much is true.

“Steve,” Robin moves first, trying to step in front of her best friend in hopes to spare this dumb idiot's life. “Come outside. Please.”

And for a moment, Steve really considers it. He knows the worst that can happen if he goes is Kyle getting an earful from Eddie. Maybe Kyle will finally get the point and fuck off forever while Steve steps outside to cool off and share a smoke with Johnathan.

But alas, Steve’s three drinks deep and is really, really, starting to realize that if Kyle can’t get the hint from Eddie then Steve will make sure it sticks.

“Yeah, no, we should go outside. You’re so right, Rob.” Steve keeps his gaze locked on Kyle while nodding his head to the left of them, towards the side door that leads to a back alley.

“Oookay, not what I meant, exactly.” Robin rushes out, hands moving in the air as she talks.

“Steve, dude. C’mon.” Kyle speaks at the same time as Robin while he steps back to meet Steve’s eyes, pleading for a half a second, before frantically looking around the bar for help.

“Yeah,” Steve licks his teeth then moves around Eddie to fully stand in between his boyfriend and his boyfriend's ex, “C’mon outside.” Steve encourages, voice almost on the edge of manic.

He can see Robin’s head snapping between the three men, hears her trying to get his attention. He just takes another step closer and shakes off Robin’s hold, hands casually shoved into his pockets. Kyle takes another cautious step back. Eddie stays still on the bar stool, flagging the bartender down for a fresh beer.

“You wanna bother my boyfriend when I’m not around? Sure, fine. He can handle himself. You wanna bother him and insult me while you can’t even look me in the eyes? Nope. Not gonna happen.”

Steve can practically feel Eddie’s satisfied grin. Can say for certain he knows Eddie is enjoying Steve’s attitude on display, if the way his foot trailing up and down Steve’s calf says anything.

Eddie fucking loves when Steve gets like this. Defensive and mean, happy to bite the hand of anyone who insults his family or himself. Steve from one year ago would not at all defend himself in this capacity, but loving Eddie comes with some rules. The most important rule being that Steve understands his worth.

So, genuinely fuck this whiny loser for trying to make Steve feel less than, especailly in front of the man Steve plans on spending the rest of his fucking life with.

Kyle tries to rope Eddie into getting Steve to calm down; that he’s acting crazy. Steve, however, is already moving for the door and swinging it wide open with a smile that leaves no room for arguing.

Steve looks between Eddie and Kyle. Eddie shrugs and gulps back another mouthful of lukewarm beer. Kyle’s entire being deflates as he walks towards Steve, tale between his legs. Steve waits patiently to follow Kyle into the alley as Robin stays frozen at the bar and Eddie says something like ‘heading for a smoke, be right back’ to the bartender.

It’s definitely cold enough to need a thick jacket, but really, it’s the perfect weather to escape the heat of a bar at this point in the evening. Steve leans back against the sticky brick wall and totally ignores the man standing infront of him and his boyfriend. Eddie crowds next to Steve then places two cigarettes between his lips and lights them both. He nods at Steve, sticking his face down a bit towards Steve’s hand.

Steve plucks the cigarette from Eddie’s mouth and takes a long drag before even entertaining the idea of Kyle.

“Look I didn’t mean anything by it, really!” Kyle all but pleads, breaking the quiet of the alley in the worst way, eyes darting between Steve’s and Eddie’s.

The two just lazily smoke their cigarettes, letting the tension around them build. Maybe hoping that Kyle will tire himself out.

Again, ever the idiot, he keeps opening his mouth to speak, “You just didn’t seem that invested in his interests when we were together.”

That gets Steve’s and Eddie’s attention. They both straighten up, Eddie seemingly about to move in on Kyle. Steve is just smiling.

“I got this, Teddie. Go back with the guys.” Steve’s eyes and voice soften immensely as he grabs at Eddie’s sleeve for attention.

Eddie looks at him carefully, a little too intensely, then smiles. He leans in for a quick kiss before crushing his half finished smoke on the wall and heading back inside.

And nothing for Kyle, thank you.

Steve glares Kyle down, now, truly glares as he blows out an angry puff of smoke before speaking, “I wasn’t fucking dating him, Kyle. I had no reason to be overly interested in the things he likes.” Another drag of the cigarette, another deep breath. “For the record, you weren’t that all into his interests either, man.” Steve’s words are fast, air coming out on fat plumes in the cold around them. “It tore him up whenever you didn’t make it to a show.”

”Oh so what, it was a good thing you were there to comfort him? Perfect. You’re telling me I drove my own boyfriend into your arms?”

Ex.” He corrects, emphasizes intensely while rolling his eyes so hard it hurts the muscles in his face. “And no. I was there for him as a friend, dipshit.” Steve runs a hand through his hair, next thought tumbling out of his mouth before he can help it, “You probably think we got together the night he dumped you.”

Finally, he’s stunned into silence and Steve can’t help the laugh he barks out, almost gleeful and a little mean, “News flash, Kyle, but Eddie was heartbroken for weeks.” Steve stares through Kyle before looking away with a heavy sigh. “He was looking forward to moving in with you and all you cared about was how close we were sitting on the couch.”

“Bullshit.” He’s definitely trying to sound intimidating, but the doubt is easy to spot in his voice, fighting to show on his face.

He looks past Steve to where Eddie was standing moments ago. Steve snaps his fingers in front of Kyle’s face, ordering his focus back on Steve.

”No, no. Look at me. We are talking.” He uses his finger to point between them, “He doesn't owe you anything, Kyle. Stop acting like he does. You’re, what, mad we ended up together?”

Kyle doesn’t speak, just flinches lightly at Steve’s accusations.

“Are you mad you’re finally seeing how amazing Eddie is in a healthy relationship? Are you mad that it’s with me? Seriously Kyle, what is your damage?”

The other man almost folds in on himself at that. Steve can see all the air leave his body; shoulders slouching and knees unlocking, his entire body weight now being fully held up by the dirty brick wall opposite Steve.

“Nothing man…” He trails off. “I didn’t mean it like that. I’m sorry.”

Steve finally finishes his cigarette, lets the last of the smoke plume out from his nostrils as he thinks of what to do next.

He could continue to berate the man.

He could also head back inside and spend the rest of the evening laughing with his friends.

Sighing Steve finally lets himself relax fully, eyes up Kyle from head to toe. He’s skittish; wringing his hands together, biting his lip.

“Look,” Steve starts, kicking off the wall and turning his body to face the door that heads back into the bar, “just… leave Eddie alone, okay?” He turns his head to look back at Kyle, “He’s happy with me.”

The heat of the bar hits his skin immediately, warming him back up from the chill of the air outside. Argyle and Nancy are near Robin at the bar, who locks eyes with him immediately. She’s on him and asks what happened, where Kyle went.

Steve rolls his eyes, smiles and shrugs his shoulders. There's a fresh rum and coke waiting at the bar for him near Nancy. He takes a sip and is, for once, thankful for the bartender's heavy hand. The sting of rum washes over his tastebuds, hardly soothed by the sweet of the cola. It burns a bit as he swallows. The music sounds louder than it did before, when his blood was rushing through his ears.

He lets himself settle next to Robin, getting comfortable as they wait for Eddie and Jonathan to return from scoring in the bathroom.

The conversations blur around him; Robin retelling the ‘Kyle Incident’ to the others, Argyle asking the girls how nice it is to be together again, Nancy calling the bartender over to order a round of shots for them all. It’s nice and easy and familiar. Steve smiles into his glass and leans into Robin’s side a little heavier.

Eventually a familiar warmth wraps around his shoulders and the smell of worn leather, cigarettes and incense flood his senses.

“Okay, okay, no one else leave!” Nancy announces, cheeks flushed and eyes glossy. Robin turns completely to focus all her attention on her girlfriend. Jonathan is slumped over Argyle’s shoulder. Steve presses himself further into Eddie’s chest.

Nancy passes out the shots, almost spilling Steve’s entirely with a giggle, “To us!”

The six of them clink their plastic shot glasses filled with the cheapest vodka known to man and toss them back. The six of them make varying faces of disgust before bursting into a fit of laughter. Someone suggests hitting the dance floor one last time before calling the cabs. Steve feels Eddie grip his hand tightly and pull him towards the middle of the bar, the rest of their friends following close behind.

++++

It’s late by the time they get back to the apartment. Later than it normally is when Steve and Eddie leave the bars. It’s gotta be past two at this point.

All four men are laughing as they stumble into the living room. Really, truly laughing so hard his gut starts to hurt. Eddie almost falls over onto Argyle as he tries to untie his boots. Jonathan points dramatically and holds back a cackle he ends up snorting so hard it sounds painful. Steve tries his best to sound serious as he shushes the three other men, and that’s when all hell breaks loose.

Jonathan moves, pivots towards Steve, quicker than his brain can register. A lanky arm reaches out and snags him by the next, pulling him in. Next thing Steve knows, he practically bent over at Jonathan’s side receiving the worlds worst noogie. Steve almost screams and wiggles as best he can in his drunken state, successfully escaping.

Then both Jonathan and Argyle start chasing Steve around the apartment and Steve’s cheeks hurt from smiling so much.

It takes ten minutes for Steve to wrestle the two other men off of him when Eddie finally comes to his rescue with a plethora of pillows and blankets for the guys to use.

They all settle, finally. Goodnight’s are quietly thrown out in the dark of the apartment as Eddie and Steve shuffle their way to their bedroom.

Steve doesn’t even get a moment to ready himself once the door is closed before Eddie is on him. A warm thigh is pressed in between his own, Eddie’s hands fitting comfortably onto his waist. Like they belong there.

“Teddie..” Steve can’t help but smile into Eddie’s shoulder as his boyfriends hands begin to roam his arms and chest and back.

“Defending my honor like that?” Eddie asks, eyebrow raised and voice playful, “That was so sexy, baby.” He’s smiling now, but not in that sweet way.

No, this is a little dark. A little dirty. His eyes are all over Steve, just like his hands. Like looking and touching Steve everywhere isn’t enough.

It never feels like enough for Steve, either. Like cracking Eddie’s chest open raw and crawling inside wouldn’t be enough to satiate his need to be with Eddie; at all points in time, across all dimensions.

He’s kissing up and down Steve’s neck, now. Down to his collar bone, up behind his ear then back down again. His breath is hot and wet and leaves a trail of goosebumps across his skin.

“Eds,” Steve tries to start, giggling softly as Eddie’s hair brushes across his neck, tickling him.

Eddie ignores him, properly. Moves to start trailing kissing on the other side of Steve’s neck, only to move up to his face. No part of Steve is safe from the sweet slow kisses Eddie is using to map out his cheekbones and chin and lips.

“Eds,” He tries again, firmer this time (but only a little).

His boyfriend refuses to let up, smiling now, too. Totally aware of what he is doing, the minute distress he is causing Steve as Eddie presses his thigh harder between Steve’s legs.

“Teddie,” He gasps when he says it, just as Eddie decides to bite that very sensitive spot on his neck, “the guys are literally across the hall in the living room.”

The palm of Steve’s hands are planted firmly on Eddie’s chest, just to give himself enough room to breathe normally again. Eddie freezes almost immediately and sighs, dropping his head heavily on Steve’s shoulder.

The room is quiet now, save for both men rapidly trying to get their breathing back to normal and a few mumbled noises from outside their bedroom door.

Eddie stills on Steve’s shoulder before asking into the fabric of his shirt, “You don’t think you can be quiet for me?”

And that really makes Steve laugh. A little too loud, but light as air and full of warmth.

Which causes Eddie to start laughing too, shoulders shaking violently against Steve, smiling hard, “I’m taking that as a no.”

Steve can feel Eddie’s smile against his shoulder through his polo. “Cmon, Teddie, let’s get cozy.” He simply says, reaching for Eddie’s hand and pulling him towards their unmade bed.

They both awkwardly shimmy out of their clothes; legs hiked up at odd angles and elbows hitting every surface around them. But in no time they are wrapped up a little too tightly in their thin hand me down comforter. Eddie’s arms find their home around Steve’s waist, his chin is hooked over Steve’s shoulder. He’s warm, always running a little too hot yet his toes are absolutely freezing as he tucks them between Steve’s calves.

Steve whines; tells him to knock it off, tells him to wear socks around the house.

Eddie hums in agreement, already on the verge of sleep when he says he was wearing socks all night.

Steve mumbles something about buying wool

socks, he thinks, maybe? Sleep came too quickly whenever he was cuddling with Eddie.

He’ll make sure to say it in the morning.
