Work Text:
Ground Zero, a popular streamer known for his explosive personality in variety streams. He’s competitive, but knows how to stop and where the line is drawn.
He has been on stream and live for at least three hours, his chat was peaking.
His face was fully visible on camera, sharp and expressive as always. His blonde hair was messy, and his jaw was tense with competitive focus. Tonight was a gaming night. His husband wasn’t anywhere on the stream.
Until a soft clink of ceramic came from off screen. The chat erupted and flowed.
HUSBAND IS HERE??
—he’s taken?.?? :(
there’s someone here!!1!
THE GZ HUZZ
SHOW HIM PLSSSSS
GZ pleaseee we won't be weird
—yes we will
Bakugou didn’t look away from the screen. “Relax chat. He’s just eating.”
Pro Hero Deku: the Number One hero, and Katsuki’s husband froze mid bite behind the camera setup. He was next to Bakugou, shoulders and hands just out of the camera.
He had gloves covering his scars just in case he accidentally went on camera.
Bakugou quickly flicked his gaze to his husband, and whispered. “You’re being loud.”
Izuku pulled his husband off screen and leaned into the blonde’s ears and whispered back, “Sorry.” Quiet enough so the microphone wouldn’t pick it up.
Chat went absolutely feral.
whispering is hot
THE HUSBAND IS REAL
pls
pls
pls
WE LOVE HIM ALREADY
show him to us plsssss
AT LEAST LET US HEAR HIM
Bakugou scoffed. Reading out one sentence. “Can we see his biceps? No way, chat. You’re not getting anything you thirsty bastards.”
Izuku tried to muffle his giggle.
“Don’t encourage them.” Bakugou snapped
Izuku eyes shot open and mouthed, I didn’t do anything.
Katsuki’s lips fought back his smirk. Nerd.
Everybody knew that Ground Zero was married.
He’d announced it on one of his streams, during a charity stream about two years ago. The lighting on the camera flashed from a shiny red colour on his ring finger, and his chat obviously caught on. Spamming ‘RING’ until he addressed it.
When Ground Zero did eventually check chat. The corners of his mouth rose smugly, proudly showing his ring, “Yeah, I’m married. No, you don’t get to know who he is. Cry about it nerds.”
However Ground Zero had never shown his husband’s face, never even said his name. Never revealed any detail that could be used to identify him, the only thing noticeable was his build.
There’s no way that Bakugou could reveal anything. Izuku’s safety and status as Deku depended on it.
Being the Number One hero meant having enemies. If they knew who he loved, who he was married to, they’d use it. They’d refused to let that happen.
So the public just knew that Ground Zero had a husband.
When the moment reached the front pages of the internet. Everybody wanted to know who Ground Zero was engaged to.
And when it reached Izuku at night, his face turned red as he cuddled and kissed Bakugou all night.
Bakugou was in the middle of a fantasy game when he asked for a drink. Izuku went and set it down, “Here you go, babe.”
Izuku stilled, recognizing his mistake. His face quickly turned pale, like he had made the worst mistake in his career.
Bakugou glanced at him and Izuku took a step back.
The chat exploded.
VOICE IS SO CUTE!!
omgomgomg he spoke
—is this the first time?
i feel like ive heard this voice b4
PLSS LETS UP HEAR MORE!!1
DONT GATEKEEP HIM FROM US
—IKRRR
he’s soft spoken
SUCH A QT!
Bakugou rolled his eyes at the chat. He changed his streaming screen to ‘BRB’ and muted his mic. “‘Zuku, you're fine. No one’s gonna know, okay?”
“Oh, I’m so sorry Kacchan. I- I didn’t mean to- I’m really sorry- Mfphh?” Izuku’s anxious voice was cut off by a palm over his mouth. Bakugou was now standing right in front of him.
“It’s fine. No biggie.”
“But what if a villain finds out and—…” His eyes darkened at the thought of his husband being in danger because of him.
“And what?” The blonde shoved a finger into his chest. “You’ll be there to save me. Isn’t that right Deku?”
“But what if—“
“What? ‘Zuku, I’ll be fine, okay?” He said with a softer voice. Trying to calm down his lover.
“Okay?” Bakugou repeated.
“Okay…” Izuku nodded, pulling the blonde closer and rested his head on his shoulder. He just wanted his husband all to himself, why did he need to have a job? I could provide for Kacchan for all of eternity…
“Do you want me to end the stream?” Bakugou said, and Izuku nodded, nudging his head further into the familiar crevice of the blonde’s neck. Feeling the sturdy pats on his back.
Katsuki ended the stream, making the excuse of ‘needing to make dinner.’
The chat responded with spamming hearts and goodnights.
“You hungry?” Bakugou said, with Izuku behind him hugging him tightly.
“I already ate.” He muttered
“Are you saying you don’t want my food?”
Izuku panicked. “Kacchan! No way! I- I just wanna rest”
“Sit down. I’ll cook you some Katsudon, pork”
Izuku’s heart squeezed, and let out a small smile.
Katsuki turned toward the kitchen. Changing the green-haired man’s grip to his hands. “C’mon babe.”
Izuku followed close behind, warmth blooming in his chest.
A week later, Bakugou started up a new stream with the title: ‘COOKING WITH MY HUSBAND’
Izuku retaliated as soon as he saw what the other man was typing. “Kacchan—what… What?”
“You’re gonna have a mask ‘n stuff. It’ll be fine.”
“But—”
“You said you wanted to do more with me.” Bakugou said, slightly furrowing his brows together.
Izuku’s voice hitched. How dare he use that against me?! His face turned hot as his mind frazzled.
Bakugou looked away from him to the camera. “If you don’t want to, we won’t. But… Tch Nevermind!”
He was about to take out all the cables and take down the set up. Until the greenette grabbed his hand and shoved it above his head. “No… I want to.”
“Okay! I get it, let go of me!”
“Oh sorry Kacchan! Oh my god, I bruised you! Does it hurt!”
“Of course it hurts! Get some bandages!” Bakugou yelled. Grinning as he watched Izuku rushing to the first aid cabinet, Stupid nerd.
The cooking stream was nice, and making curry was peaceful. Though, Izuku would say it was too fast paced.
Whenever Izuku tried to chop vegetables; his husband complained he was too slow and his cutting skills were sloppy. Bakugou added spices and flavours, and husband complained he was too aggressive with the seasoning.
But at one point, Bakugou reached behind the other to grab something, and Izuku instinctively held him by the waist for support.
The camera caught it, and the chat was unhinged.
this stream is the happiest thing in my life
HE’S SUCH A CUTIE!!

gz does not deserve this shy lil guy
ILY GZ
they’re so in love it hurts
—fr i feel so alone
THE WAIST TOUCH??? HELLO???
—AAA I SAW IT
—they’re so gay
Izuku watched the comments, his anxiety melting away. And Bakugou watched his spouse instead.
“You okay?” he asked.
Izuku’s eyes turned into crescent moons and nodded.
“Told you.” The blonde scoffed.
Izuku leaned against him, quietly saying “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For letting me be a part of this.”
“You’re such a worrywart.”
Bakugou leaned in and kissed the other man’s forehead. He could feel his chat going crazy after that, but he didn’t want to look. He was focusing on the way his lover’s face froze with the sudden act of affection on camera, making him inwardly chuckle.
They laid in bed, city lights flickering through the huge window next to their bed.
Bakugou was resting his head on a built chest. Gazing at whatever Izuku wanted to look at on his phone.
“You know,” Izuku murmured, “Someday.. maybe I’ll be able to show myself.”
“Someday.” Bakugou said, to the best of his abilities, having half of his jaw on a solid surface.
“But, not yet.”
“No.” Bakugou said. “Until your ready..”
“Thank you, for being patient.”
Bakugou hummed.
Izuku smiled, putting his head closer to Bakugou’s hair. “I love you.”
“Me too.” The blonde murmured.
