Summary
Mateo Cárdenas—once Harry Potter—remembers nothing of his life before the jungle. As a toddler, he survived the plane crash that killed his family and was found days later by Jonas and Izzy, who adopted him on December 1st, 1982. Raised deep in an isolated rainforest by explorers, retired pilots, and archaeologists, Mateo grew up far from magic, learning to fly, track, and survive across grasslands, mountains, wetlands, and desert.
At six, Mateo first met Severus Snape, a wizard lost on a secret mission. Weakened and stranded, Snape was taken in by Jonas’s camp. He watched Mateo with quiet recognition, sensing something familiar, but said nothing. His rare visits left a lasting mark.
Years later, Snape returned with a purpose: the wizarding world was at war, and the child once called Harry Potter was needed. Mateo, who knew only the jungle and the family he loved, reluctantly left for Hogwarts—but he never accepted the legacy forced on him. Magic felt foreign, unnecessary, and hollow beside the life he’d built. The wizarding world may try to claim him, but Mateo Cárdenas remains who he chooses to be: protector of the only home he has ever known.
