First timers do generally not want to go into the recycling vestibule.
You can explain to them that this is good for them, their consciousness will be preserved, they will live on forever in their exponents etc, but it just doesn't click for them.
Of course, it also doesn't help that being send down a slimy tube and into a tight wet sack to be dissolved into the Arcology's exponent system is not actually pleasant for first timers. Primal fears that haven't been excised yet, nerves that haven't been reconfigured yet.
Usually you have to paralyse them, or else they'll thrash around in such a panic that they can rupture the vestibule, which can lead to the superstructure developing infections, or worse, to the poor girl getting stuck somewhere where her consciousness will not be preserved when she dies.
