Chapter Text
Daniela woke up normally like any other day. Getting up out of her bed, getting ready for school. Without any idea of what was coming for her that day. She usually dosent think too much while getting ready. Nothing too much to stress about. She’s never been one to let one person rule her whole day. Nobody’s ever been able to attract Daniela’s attention to that point. But this day in particular would be the last. As she showered nothing went on in her head. She let the warm water trickle down her lean body. Calmly washing herself. When she got out she finished getting ready for her day. Unbeknownst to what was coming.
“Megan are you sure you have everything??”
“Yes mom I’m sure.”
Megan said to her mother in a reassuring tone, today was Megans first day at her new school. Her mom stuffed a water bottle in the back of her backpack. Megan threw her red jacket on and began walking out the door. “Love you mom bye.”
Megan was really nervous, practically shaking. While she started walking to school she pulled out her phone and plugged In her ear buds. She didn’t need to drive to school or take a bus, she moved In literally just a few minutes away. Megan expected maybe a harsh few days at school, getting adjusted and what not. Just normal new kid behavior. But what she really had coming was nothing what she had in mind.
Daniela slowly pulled up in the parking lot of the school, parking her nice Escalade. She saw her friends waiting by the front of the school standing on the stairs. She began walking toward them, “Hey guys.” Sophia replied “Hey Dani, oh by the way Jonah was looking for you, said he needed to ask you something?” Lara butted in. “I think it was about matching halloween costu-“ Manon hit Lara in the shoulder. “Ow what the fuck Manon?” Manon gave her a look. Lara understood quickly and shut up. Yoonchae giggled silently, causing lara to nudge her shoulder too. Daniela smirked, “Well okay then, where is he?” Sophia said “I think he’s by the benches towards the garden.” Daniela nodded and began walking toward over there.
As Megan arrived at the school, she realized it was bigger than expected. Way way bigger. As she began walking past the parking lot and walking in the school she noticed a small group of girls standing toward the side just eyeing her, not rudely. But just noticing. Megan saw but didn’t think much of it. Maybe they just thought her pink and black hair was cool? She walked in the school and began walking towards the office to get her schedule and map of the school.
“Woah who was that?”
Lara said, Sophia replied. “I’m not sure. I think she’s new? I’ve never seen her before. You guys?
Yoonchae and Manon shook their heads. Lara said “She’s really pretty though, i lowkey wanna talk to her.” Manon gave Lara a look. “Like you wanna date her talk to her??” Lara gasped dramatically. “Manon what no, I meant talk to her like to befriend her.” Manon smirked and nodded her head slowly. Lara shook hers, stifling a laugh.
“Oh look who’s back!” Sophia said, pointing at Daniela walking back toward the group of girls. She looked a bit irritated. Sophia dramatically scrunched her face at Daniela, then she said “Damn. Who pissed in your Cheerios?”
Daniela scoffed and began immediately ranting.
“Nobody- well maybe Jonah and his bullshit. He just asked me if we could have matching Harley Quinn and Joker Halloween costumes.” Yoonchae said confused. “Well what’s wrong with that?”
Daniela replied, still clearly irritated. “He wants me to temporarily dye my hair blue and pink. But that color will stay in for atleast a week. I can’t go around in public like that.” Manon said “Okay.. so. What did you tell him?” Daniela replied “Well I told him he should just find some other colored hair freak to match with.” Lara blurted out, “Damn Dani.” Yoonchae said “Why so mean about it? Did somebody actually piss in your Cheerios?”
Sophia snorted then Daniela scoffed and tried holding her laugh but a little giggle escaped her lips. “Come on let’s just go to class guys.”
As Megan found her locker in the building she began organizing some stuff in there. Folders, notebooks and what not. She checked her phone one last time before putting it away in her bag. As she was about to close her bag a voice from behind her slightly startled her. “Hey. Pink-haired girl.” She turned around quickly to see a boy standing behind her. “Yea you. What’s your name?” Megan processed what he said before reluctantly replying. “Uhm, it’s Megan.”
“Megan?”
“Yea. Megan.”
The boy smirked then eyed the front doors of the school before turning back at Megan standing there all confused. “I like your hair, Megan.”
Megan tilted her head a bit and said sounding unsure. “Thank you?” The boy giggled and said
“You’d be a perfect Harley Quinn.” Megan replied very confused. “Excuse me?” Jonah then pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket, scribbled on it, and shoved it in Megan’s pocket .
As Daniela and her group walked in the school she saw Jonah talking to.. wait. Who is that? She stared hard for a good second. Jonah was talking to.. her mind went blank. Lara noticed and said “Oh yea Dani that’s the new girl. We are pretty sure she just got here today.” New girl? Daniela thought. This new girl is talking to my boyfriend? Daniela’s face scrunched up in annoyance. Burrowing her eyebrows slightly she began walking towards them. The girls behind her all eyed eachother- knowing Daniela would probably do something dumb.
“But yea my girlfriend is refusing to be Harley Quinn and it’s irritating me because she told me I could pic-“ Megan wasn’t listening to this random boy talking to her, she didn’t even know his name. She had zoned out awhile ago. “But yea you should totally just match with me. You wouldn’t even need to dye your hair. It’s perf-“
“Jonah.”
That snapped Megan out of her disassociation. She looked beside Megan to see a girl. A really pretty one. But then she realized this girl had been staring at Megan. Without any thought Megan smiled and said “Hi.” Daniela looked pissed all the way off. She grabbed Jonah’s arm and said to him. “Who’s this?”
Jonah replied all snarky. “Hello Daniela. This is Megan. I saw her pink hair and thought of Harley Quinn.” That really pissed off Daniela. Megan just stood there awkwardly. She started to feel the tension and was about to walk away when Daniela mumbled. “Yea she’s probably batshit crazy like her too.”
Megan immediately made eye contact with Daniela. She didn’t say anything but she made it clear she heard what Daniela mumbled. Then she walked away. Daniela scoffed and said “Seriously Jonah??” Jonah laughed and said. “What??”
Megan walked away slightly worried about her first interaction. She didnt really know what she had done to be called “batshit crazy.” But she knew the bell was going to ring in a few minutes, so she began walking to her first period that was organized on the little piece of paper the office handed her. She ended up making it to her first period which was Algebra 2. She walked in and immediately started to look around. The desks were in rows in pairs of 2. There weren’t a lot of empty seats around the classroom. She spotted a seat next to a blonde girl who looked kind. Megan didn’t think twice and sat next to her. Immediately the girl noticed and smiled. “Hey new girl.” Megan smiled softly and replied, “Hi.”
The girl then said,
“My names Emily, yours?”
“Megan.”
“Well Megan, I like your hair.” Megan smiled, trying to hide it with her hand. Emily giggled and immediately the two girls began kicking it off for a few minutes from there. Talking about hobbies, interests, or anything they related too.
“Oh come on just let me walk you Dani.” Jonah said frustrated. Daniela broke out of his grip and said. “Just go to class. I’ll see you later.” Jonah groaned and stomped off. Her friends quickly appeared from behind, Sophia awkwardly said “Everything okay?” Daniela quickly fixed her face and attitude for her friends, she knew they didn’t need that. “Yeah, yeah everything’s good.” Sophia nodded and they all began walking to their first period. While walking Lara began complaining. “I hate algebra 2 so much like I already took pre-algebra and algebra 1 why is there another one?” Manon laughed. “No Manon this isn’t funny I genuinely can’t stand this class.” She laughed even harder. The group quickly quieted as they walked in. The first thing Daniela noticed was..
Megan.
Megan talking to Emily. In the seats right in front of hers and Lara’s. She scrunched up her face in annoyance. The group quickly noticed and just began going to their seats. Megan was completely oblivious to what was happening in the front of the classroom. Too busy talking to Emily. Daniela breathed slowly and just walked to her seat and sat down. Daniela thought ‘I literally have to sit right behind this pink haired bitch. kill me already.’ . Lara looked at Daniela for a second, giving her a look that said “you okay?” Daniela just nodded. With that Lara leaned back in her chair.
Daniela started listening in on Megan and Emilys conversation, just out of curiosity.
“Dude the first thing I noticed about you was your hair Megan.”
“Really?.” Megan smiled.
“Yea it’s so pretty! I’ve never seen somebody with pink and black hair styled like yours.”
Daniela thought Emily had to been lying straight to Megan’s face. Megan’s hair was not that pretty. Her colors made her look like a freak. God Daniela just wanted to-
Ring!
The bell rung and the class went quiet as the teacher walked in.
“Good morning class. Please get your math notebooks out we will be doing some note taking this period to prepare for your upcoming test. But before we do that I just wanted to introduce you guys somebody..” The friendly teacher looked towards Megan and signaled for Megan to come up in-front of the class. Megan slowly stood up and walked in-front of the class nervously. The teacher smiled and said. “We have a new student at our school, this is Megan.” Megan awkwardly smiled and the students acknowledged her kindly with waves. Along with spread out hello’s and hi’s around the class room.
Daniela took a good look at Megan. She had pretty pale skin. She wore a red jacket with jeans and she could see a black graphic tee underneath the jacket. Her hair was up in a pony tail. She wore hoop earrings and had a jade bracelet around her wrist. She eyed Megan’s cute pink bangs. Suddenly Lara snapped Dani out of her staring trance at Megan. “Yo Dani? You crushing on her or something?” Daniela snapped out of it and quickly replied. “What? Ew no. I’m just looking at her.” Lara smirked, making Daniela scoff.
Megan slowly began walking back to her seat. And the teacher began her lesson. Megan began following the teachers instructions and started taking the notes.
Fucking dork.
Daniela thought. Daniela kept staring at Megan the whole time, barely even paying attention. Not even Sophia’s this dorky and she’s a dork, Daniela kept thinking. Throughout class Megan and Emily would have small talk, but still paying attention to the lesson. Daniela watched Megan interact with Emily. To be honest with herself Megan wasn’t annoying. She was actually really friendly but she was just awkward. But Daniela wasn’t going to tell anybody that. She realized halfway through the lesson she barely took any notes. She eyed Megan before letting her impulsive thoughts take over.
“Megan.” Daniela whispered, leaning forward. Megan slowly turned her head around. Realizing it was Daniela. Megan immediately felt a rush of fear and nervousness.
“Yeah?.” Megan replied quietly.
“Give me your notes for a second.”
Megan immediately complied without any hesitation. Grabbing her notebook and handing it to Daniela. Daniela grabbed it and rolled her eyes. Daniela eyed the notebook for a second, Megan’s handwriting was really good. She began quickly copying it. Megan sat in her chair nervously staring at the board. A few minutes later she felt a pencil poke her. It was Daniela. Megan turned around and the notebook got shoved back at her. Megan quickly took it back without any further explanation and finished up her notes.
As class ended Emily asked Megan,
“What’s your second period Megan?”
“Chemistry.”
“Shit no way I got chemistry too! Wanna walk together?”
Megan nodded happily, Megan and Emily walked out the classroom together. Daniela and her friends walked out behind them. Lara started speaking to Daniela, “Dani don’t you have chemistry next period?” “Yeah why?” Lara felt bad but she didn’t want to tell Daniela she overheard Megan just now. She was just going to let it happen. Sophia then said “Alright I’ll see you all in 5th period.” The group said their goodbyes before separating since they all had different 2nd periods. Dani was completely oblivious to what was coming.
As Megan and Emily walked into their chemistry class, Emily sat them down at a table in the back of the classroom.
“You sit here alone?”
“Yeah everybody else already has a partner to sit with.”
Megan felt a little bad for Emily. She was sitting alone in her Algebra 2 and now Chemistry class. She wondered if she was lonely.
Daniela walked into chemistry with her friend Adela. When they walked in Daniela was confused on why it was so dark in the classroom, she went up to the teacher. “Hey uhm Mr. Stevens why is it so dark in here?” “We are watching a movie today Daniela. Your expected to answer questions on a sheet of paper I’ll be giving to you.” Daniela just nodded and her and Adela began walking to their table. Daniela sat down and looked around like usual. But then that’s when she spotted her.
Fuck.
Megan.
Why is she everywhere??
Megan and Emily were sitting just next to Daniela and Adela. Megan and Emily were talking about something that Daniela could care less about. “God she’s so irritating.. “Daniela thought. “I don’t wanna see those shitty pink bangs for the rest of the day- I swear if I see her after thi-“
“Dani? You there?”
Adela talked Dani out of her trance, Daniela came back to reality and quickly fixed up her face and tone. “Yea I’m here.” Adela nodded and they all quickly quieted as the teacher began talking about the movie and the questions.
It’s been about 20 minutes into the movie. Daniela barely had anything down on her paper. She could care less about it. She side eyed Megan and Emily. Megan had been answering questions on time and clearly was focused. Emily was whispering to Megan about something. Megan lifted her hand up from her paper and put down her pencil. Daniela noticed she had finished her paper. “Wow this bitch is a fucking nerd.” Daniela thought. Megan began talking to Emily, suddenly she whispered something and Megan stood up. Daniela watched Megan walk towards the front of the classroom to the teacher and ask to use the restroom. Mr. Stevens allowed her and she left the classroom. Daniela was so intimidated to go follow her in there. She was twitching to. She wanted to go tell her off.
Suddenly Daniela’s chair scooched back with a screeching sound. Adela looked up to see Daniela walking quite fast towards the teacher.
“Mr Stevens.”
“Yes Daniela?”
“Can I use the bathroom?”
“Yes you may.”
Daniela sighed and began speed walking toward the bathroom. When she made it she pushed open the door and saw Megan towards the end of the bathroom at a sink fixing her hair. Megan noticed the sound and turned toward Daniela, immediately Megan looked terrified.
“Megan.” Daniela said sternly as she began walking toward Megan. Megan stumbled backward against the counter, holding onto it as Daniela invaded her space. “Hi Daniela..” megan spoke softy. Megan looked down slightly at her. Megan was grateful at the moment that she was tall, she’d feel more scared if Daniela was taller than her.
“Why were you flirting with my boyfriend?”
“I-I swear I wasn-“
“Bullshit, you come in here on your first day and start being all lovey dovey with him.” Daniela got even closer to Megan, she grabbed her jacket and tugged her forward.
“You’re such a fucking dork.” Megan made a little whine from the sudden pull, she nodded just complying to what Daniela told her. “Y-yeah.”
Daniela was about to say something when she realized how close she was to this girl. She could smell her, faints of cherry, vanilla and something else. Megan smelt good- no. No she didn’t she’s a bitch. Daniela told herself.
“Listen Megan, stay away from Jonah.”
Megan nodded quickly and said quietly.
“I will I will.”
Daniela shoved her back into the counter, letting go of her, Megan stumbled backward quietly. Daniela said annoyedly, “What were you doing in here anyway freak?”
“J-just fixing my hair.” Daniela took a good look at Megan.
“Your hairs fine. Why’d you actually come in here?” Daniela was suspicious of Megan, she thought she was doing anything but that.
“I-I promise you I wasn’t doing anything else.”
Daniela suddenly touched Megan’s pockets and shoved her hands in them. She pulled out a little note. As she was about to open it Megan snatched it from her hands. Daniela gave her the dirtiest look.
“What was that? Give it.”
“It’s nothing- it’s mine.”
“I said give it.”
“No it’s nothing important.”
Daniela snatched it out her hand and shoved Megan back in the counter and began opening the note. It read
“Call me ! -Jonah,” then it had his phone number.
Daniela slowly turned at Megan who had to have been pale as a ghost. Daniela dropped the note on the ground. Then grabbed Megan by her jacket again and pushed her toward the wall this time, still gripping on her.
“Megan why the fuck is my boyfriend’s phone number in your pocket?”
Megan stumbled over her words before saying fearfully, “He gave it to me but I wasn’t going to do anything with it..” Daniela pushed her harder against the wall, Megan whimpered.
“If I see you ever near Jonah again I swear Megan I’ll kill you.” Megan nodded frantically, wishing Daniela would just let her go.
“You hear me dork?”
“Yes, yes I hear you.”
Daniela let her go, Megan stumbled with a thud. Daniela then walked out the bathroom as if nothing happened.
