Work Text:
Aeri was currently sitting on Jimin’s bed and the woman was on her lap grinding softly on her member. The two were heavily making out, Aeri had her hands on her hips guiding Jimin’s movements. They had been busy, classes, final projects, and in the middle of studying for finals. It was their last year of college, and they were both wanting to be focused to ace their finals. They both needed to let out some stress, and well what other way then sex?
Aeri pulls away and starts leaving soft kisses all over Jimin’s neck. She hears Jimin let out a sigh, Aeri pulls away just to go and kiss Jimin again.
Jimin starts smiling against her lips and pulls away. “I can’t wait to ride your Spinosaurus.”
“W-what…?”
“Yeah, I gotta be careful… it has ridges…”
Aeri stares at Jimin for a bit and kind of winces. “Ye-yeah Jimin.. y-you made me deflate.”
Jimin’s eyebrows come together. “Deflate? What’d you mean?”
“Uh… I went down… the mood is gone.”
“What? But it’s.. I’m just joking! There’s no wa-” Jimin moved her hips and Aeri wasn't as hard as she was before.
Aeri rubbed the back of her neck. “Maybe next time?”
Jimin let out a loud groan and got off of the woman’s lap. “Fine, I guess we’ll just sleep. I have an early study group anyway.”
The next time was three days later, and they were once again on Aeri’s bed with Jimin on her lap. Except this time Aeri was in a tank top with her briefs, and Jimin still had all her clothes on still. Jimin got off her lap, moved her hair back and started leaving soft kisses on her cock over the briefs.
Aeri’s hips jerked and she let out a bunch of soft sighs which motivated Jimin to leave firmer kisses. “Ji-Jimin… go-good god.”
Jimin sticks her tongue out, and Aeri watches as the woman slides it slowly from the bottom of her shaft all the way to her tip. “Are you gonna let me suck on this T-Rex?”
And just like that Aeri instantly shrunk back down as if someone threw a bucket of ice water. “Oh my god Jimin! Not again… lord… why did I have to involve myself with a hot woman who’s a loser. Could’ve been anyone, but my eyes just had to lay on her.” Aeri said it jokingly, but for Jimin it didn’t sit well with her.
“I guess we’ll have to try after finals Jiminie, come on let’s sleep.”
“Y-yeah I-I’m tired, too much studying.”
Aeri sensed something was a bit off, but paid no mind to it. “Night Jimin, sleep well.”
Aeri had gotten comfortable, and fell asleep within minutes. “Yeah… night Aeri-ah.”
By the following week Aeri was burned out half way through, the finals were grueling, and she was still studying for the remaining ones. She was on her way to her dorm when she bumped into Yunjin.
“Damn, you look like shit Aeri.”
“Geez I know we’re exes, but that was harsh.”
Yunjin lets out a snort. “Sorry, finals kicking your ass that bad?”
“Oh no, not at all everything is rainbows and sunshine Yun, of course I’m taking it like a champ!”
“Riiiighhhhht and Chaewonie is definitely not my girlfriend, so funny Aeri.”
“Oh how is Chaewon by the way? Haven’t seen her in a while.”
“You know how hard working my puppy is, right now she’s busy with the books. Said something about not being able to concentrate if I’m around her.”
“That sounds about right, what about you? You’re not doing any studying?”
Yunjin shows me what she’s been holding the entire time. “Uh girl I literally have been holding all of my material, I’m even wearing my glasses? You need to sleep Aeri.” Yunjin then taps my head softly, and I let out a groan.
“Stop that, you know I didn’t like that when we dated, why would I like it now?”
She laughs, “Why do you think I did it? But seriously go rest up, you look like you might collapse any second.”
“No time for resting right now Yun, gotta study, but I will rest after my finals.”
“You better Uchinaga, maybe we can hang out sometime after?”
“Sure why not? But bring Chae with you, I haven’t seen her in so long.”
“Fineee, see ya around Aeri-ah.” Yunjin leans in and we hug before she lets go and we part ways.
Unbeknownst to Aeri someone down the hall watched the entire interaction, and felt the green monster bubbling in the pit of her stomach.
As the last few days went by, Aeri had been texting Jimin, but each text felt off. Jimin sent short responses, sometimes would take a few hours or just wouldn’t reply to the next day. She wondered if she had done something or maybe the woman was busy with studying, and finals like she was. But even after finals week was over Jimin hadn’t been interested in meeting up with her.
She was sitting in the library with Yunjin, who was studying for her last final that was coming up on Wednesday.
“Well did you do something to piss her off?”
“I don’t know, we haven’t seen each other since last weekend, and she doesn’t want to make plans to meet up.” I lay my head on the table.
“Maybe she’s just busy? Do you know her exam schedule?”
I turn my head so I’m not mumbling into the table. “Uh, no, but I could’ve sworn she said something about finishing around the same time as me? Not sure though, you know I have a bad memory Yun.”
“Oh don’t I know, remember how you forgot our anniversary?” Yunjin sticks her tongue out and shakes her shoulders.
“Fuck off Yunjin.”
“Okay, okay only cause you look like a sad kitty in the rain.”
I let out a sigh and sat up. “I really like her Yunjin, I’ve been wanting to get out of the whole benefits shit for a while now. Jimin is-she’s different, but I’m not sure if she wants us to be more or not.”
“Go out and see her over the weekend? I’m sure she’ll be free from the shackles of college work.”
I let out a hum, “Yeah I should definitely do that, and try to fix whatever I did.” I lay my head on her shoulder and keep her company until she finished.
By Saturday Jimin had left all my texts on read, I even had tried calling, but it always went to voicemail. So by the time it hit night time I decided to head to her dorm. I had knocked, but got no answer, so I decided to wait, and wait, and did more waiting to the point I was sitting on the floor.
By midnight I decided I made myself look pathetic enough and right as I stood up someone came around the corner. Jimin was being held by her side, she was slumped over on some woman’s shoulder. I didn’t recognize who the woman was, but I was worried about Jimin. “Jimin? Are you okay? What happened?”
“Oh she’s just drunk, I kept trying to slow her down, but she just kept chugging drinks back. Are you a friend of hers? Oh sorry, my name is Sua by the way.”
“Aeri. I don’t think Jimin’s ever mentioned a Sua before? Did you guys become friends this year?”
“N-No, we’ve been friends before college. We go way back.”
“Oh, I see. Nice to meet you Sua.”
Jimin let out a low groan. “Ca-can yo-youuu sh-shuuut up, I wan-wanna sl-sleep.”
Sua passes me Jimin’s keys and I help her open the door. I move to the side to let Sua pass, and get behind Jimin just in case she falls. Sua sits Jimin down on the couch and when she tries to leave Jimin holds onto her hand. “S-stay Sua.”
“J-Jimin I have to go, I have a study group later, pl-plus Aeri is here. You won’t be alone.
“N-noooo I don want h-her here, I want youuu, pleaseee.”
My heart starts to race a bit hearing Jimin, but I try to tell myself she’s drunk, and doesn’t mean it. “I-It’s okay, I’ll just come back tomorrow.”
Jimin lets out a noise that obviously shows her distaste. “Ughhh, if I don want youuu here now, I don wanna see y-your ass tomorrow.”
“Jimin! Stop, you’re drunk, stop talking.” Sua looks over at me apologetically. “I’m sorry, she doesn’t mean it.”
“Ohhhh but I doo. S-Sua don-don’t lie to her.” Jimin moves her head slowly to look over at me, and the look in her eyes makes me freeze on the spot. “I-If I did-didn’t ans-answer your calls is becuz I don’t want too. Y-you’re not a ni-nice per-person, you-you’re mean. I don-don’t like you Ae-Aeri. I li-like Sua, sh-she’s niceee so-soft, annnd sh-she mak-makes me feeeel goood. G-go a-away anddd don’t sh-show yo-your face to me ag-agin. Fu-fuuck of-oofff.”
My heart sinks, and although I tried to chant to myself she was drunk it’s no use. People tend to be honest when they're drunk, I should know. Maybe it’s my Karma? Who knows, but my run instincts kicked in. “Ri-Right. Goodnight.”
I turned around, and headed straight for the door. I opened it, closed it and I moved a bit before leaning against the wall. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears.
“Ae-Aeri, she doesn’t mean that, she’s messed up, I’m sure she won’t even remember he-herself.”
I turned around to face Sua, and although Jimin directed those words to me the woman looked like she was on the verge of tears. “Sua, th-that’s nice of you, but you don’t have to apologize. She may be drunk, but she’s being honest. I would know.”
“I-.”
I shake my head, feeling my eyes starting to fill up with tears. “I appreciate it, really.” I bite my bottom lip to stop it from trembling, and naturally my eyebrows come together to try and mask my emotion. “Do-Don’t tell her I came by Sua, I-I think it’s for the be-best.”
“Aeri…” Sua was silently crying, her face was a bit flushed.
I tried to give her a reassuring smile, but even I couldn’t pull that off. “Please, take care of her, yeah? At least I know she’ll be in good hands.”
Sua nods her head in agreement, and I give her a small smile before turning around and walking away. Each step felt heavier than the last, and by the time I left the building I put my hand over my mouth to muffle my choked out sob. I don’t know how long I stood out there, but I don’t remember how I got back to my dorm. By the next day I woke up on the floor up against the couch, I didn’t have the energy to move, not even when I realized my phone rang.
All I could picture was the look on Jimin’s face and the way she talked to me. It was gut wrenching, it made me feel so small, and for once I understood how it felt to be on the other side. I hate it, I hated myself, and the fact that I managed to hurt someone who was my sun. Eventually I moved to my bed, and even then I don’t know how long I laid there for. I barely ate, I only got up to relieve myself or shower, and I had misplaced my phone.
I watched the sunrise, set, and the moon come up, I think it’s been three days? But I knew I had to eventually get up, I was curled up on the couch when there was a knock on my door. I ignored it, but they knocked over and over again. I got up, and opened the door, it was Yunjin. I don’t know why I was expecting to see someone else, but I looked in the hall to see if she was somewhere around. She wasn’t.
“God Aeri, you look bad, how long have you been in here?”
I shrug my shoulders in response, truthfully I didn’t know.
“Where’s your phone, I’ve been calling you for days.”
Once again I shrugged, and I turned around to walk over to my couch again.
Yunjin sees how neatly the dorm is, and her heart squeezes. “Aeri, have you been eating? Do you know what day it is or the month?”
“Yun please, i-if you’re here to scold me j-just leave.”
Yunjin could hear the tremor in my voice. “Aeri what happened? What’s got you like this?” She walked over to me and bent down to see my face. I was hunched over, a blanket over my shoulders and the minute I saw her face it’s like a damn broke.
“Sh-she-”
I collapsed and Yunjin caught me, she held onto me tightly as my sobs felt like they came out from my soul. She rubbed my back to try and calm me down, I was heaving from how hard I was crying, barely being able to breathe in between each cry I let out. “My god Aeri, it’s okay, it’s okay I’m here, ju-just let it all out. Yunnie’s here.”
Yunjin waited, it felt like I went on for hours, but eventually I started to sniffle, and although I wasn’t finished crying I pulled away. Yunjin wiped my nose away with tissues, and used a new one to try and wipe my tears, but they just wouldn’t stop. “A-Aeri, what happened? Hmm, I’m here now. I can call Chae too if you want.”
I shook my head no, and I waited for the knot in my throat to pass before speaking. “I-I went to see her on Sa-Saturday, I wa-waited for hours. She came home wi-with some woman named S-Sua. I- She was trying to le-leave, but J-Jimin wouldn’t let h-her. Yu-Yun, sh-she ha-hates me. She hates me, and I do-don’t blame her.” I started to cry all over again and Yunjin gets up to sit next to me and I lay down on her lap.
“Sh-she said I w-was me-mean an-and that Sua was ni-nicer, sof-softer. She told me to fu-fuck off.”
Yunjin runs her hands through my hair. “Fuck Aeri, I’m so sorry, you don’t deserve that. You didn’t deserve to be treated that way.”
“Bu-but I do Yu-Yunjin, I do.” I sat up and wiped my face. “Rem-remember I di-did it to you. I-I was mean, even wi-without being drunk i-it’s my karma. I’m a shitty pe-person and I ha-hate myself.”
“Hey! Hey don’t say that, don’t talk about yourself like that Aeri! Don’t you dare!” Yunjin started to cry with me. “Aeri you were going through things! Y-you were depressed an-and I forgave you! Okay, don’t say that! Please you-you’re my best friend and I hate that you’re talking about yourself like this!”
“I ru-ruin pr-pretty things Yun I-I don’t deserve to be h-happy. I ruined you, I ruined Jimin, and you may have f-forgiven me, bu-but-”
Yunjin makes me sit up and she cups my face in her hands. “But nothing! Aeri, you have to forgive yourself! It was in the past, what happened between me and you was forgiven, if I didn’t I wouldn’t be here with you!” Yunjin kissed my forehead, “Aeri I love you, please just forgive, let it go, I’m not scarred, I’m healed and you didn’t ruin me. I’m still me!” Yunjin held onto me tightly, and I cried so much that I ended up falling asleep in her arms.
Yunjin had laid her down on the couch thirty minutes ago and was pacing till the door knocked. Yunjin walked over and opened it to let Chaewon in. “How bad is she, love?”
“Chae, i-it’s bad, she collapsed and sobbed till she heaved, and then cried herself till she passed out.” Yunjin wiped away her tears and shook her head. “She ha-hates herself Chae, and she hasn’t even forgiven herself for what happened in the past. She thinks she deserves what she’s going through, said it was her punishment.”
“Shit, I tried to find out some information. I went to Sua myself, but all she talked about was what Aeri already told you. She feels bad, Sua didn’t know Jimin and Aeri had something going on.”
“Wh-what?! She came in between them?”
Chaewon quickly shook her head. “No, not like that Yun. Meaning Jimin didn’t ever mention Aeri to her. The night she took Jimin home was when she realized something had been going on. Sua had tried asking, but Jimin just shut it all down.”
“Aeri has a bad memory, I told her to go over to talk about it, but I guess Jimin doesn’t know.”
“Sua hasn’t told Jimin what had happened.”
Yunjin lets out a loud sigh. “Why not? If she did, all this could be fixed.”
“Yun, she told me Aeri begged her not to tell Jimin..”
“Of course she did. What am I gonna do with her Chae? She doesn’t ever listen.”
“The only thing we can do Yun, is be there for her.”
For the remainder of the semester Chaewon and Yunjin stuck by her side. Made sure she ate, slept properly, and made her leave the dorm to get some fresh air. Aeri was thankful to have friends like them, otherwise who knows what she could’ve done. Graduation was around the corner, and the trio were going to pick up their cap and gown.
The couple were talking amongst themselves while she was busy spacing out. Lately she had been trying to think of what she could’ve done to make Jimin hate her so much, but she came up blank. As the line moved so did Aeri, she risked looking around out of boredom. Suddenly she turned to the right and there Jimin was a few rows down, the two locked eyes, Aeri then saw Sua standing next to Jimin. She sees their arms are a bit close, so she follows the path to see they’re holding hands.
Sua catches on to Aeri’s line of sight and quickly untangles her hands from Jimin’s as if she’d been burned. Aeri looks away completely, bites her lip, and starts fiddling with her fingers. Thankfully Yunjin and Chaewon were finished and it was her turn.
“Name?”
“Aeri Uchinaga.”
The woman licks her thumb before she starts flipping through the pages to get to the U’s. Aeri crosses her arms, wishing the woman would hurry up so she could get out of here.
“Ahh, there you are!” After confirming who she was, and making sure I had all of my credentials she grabs a package containing what I need and hands it over. “Congratulations Ms. Uchinaga, you even graduated with honors, how ambitious!”
I take the package containing my cap and gown. “Th-Thank you.” I quickly turn around and start walking over to my friends. As we start walking out together, of course luck is never on my side. At the end of the pathway was Jimin, along with Sua. I pretend I don’t see either of them, hoping I can pass by without being detected, but of course it’s never that easy.
“A-Aeri! H-hey can we talk?”
Yunjin steps in front of me, almost like a bodyguard. “What do you need to talk to her for?”
“Yunjin.” Jimin has this hard look on her face that Yunjin returns tenfold.
“Jimin.”
“Yun, come on, Aeri can speak for herself.” Chaewon tries to gently move Yunjin out of the way, but of course Yunjin doesn’t budge.
I clear my throat, and softly pat Yunjin's shoulder. “It’s okay Yun, I’ll be fine. You and Chae can wait for me off to the side.”
“You sure?” Yunjin says without breaking eye contact with Jimin.
I smile softly, “if I need you I’ll wave you over okay?”
“Alright Aeri, I’m gonna go stretch, just in case I gotta take a bitch down.”
“Huh Yunjin! Let’s go! I’m so sorry Jimin.” Chaewon drags Yujin away and scolds her as they walk.
“I’ll see you around Jimin.” Sua waves goodbye, and gives me a soft smile. “Bye Aeri, it’s nice to see you again.”
“Likewise Sua, I like your new haircut.”
She smiles and waves as she walks away.
I watch Sua leave, and I eventually focus my eyes back onto the ground. The air is a bit uncomfortable, and I shuffle on my feet. “Soo, how’ve you been Jimin?”
“Aeri-ah you disappeared.”
“Oh, you’re jumping straight to it I see…”
“I am, I’m tired of whatever this is. I know I didn’t answer back, but when I was ready it said I was blocked.”
I winced, and rubbed the back of my neck. “Ye-yeah um, Yunjin might’ve done that.”
“She has access to your phone?”
I chew on my lip. “She knows my passcode.”
“I see.” Jimin’s jaw is tense and it’s obvious she’s pissed. “Are you fucking her?”
I freeze, and my eyebrows come together. “Wh-what?!”
Jimin closes her eyes, and sighs. “It’s a simple yes or no Aeri-ah.”
“No, I’m not.”
Jimin stares at me for a while, trying to analyze whether I’m lying or not. “Are you sure? Because I’m not going to go down this road with you Aeri.”
“What road? She’s my best friend Jimin, that’s all. Plus she’s been dating Chaewon for almost two years.”
Jimin looks taken back. “Chaewon?”
“Yeah, Chaewon. Do you honestly think I’d be allowed to be there if I was seeing Yunjin? Chaewon takes her relationships seriously, and even then Yunjin is super loyal.”
“O-oh I-I thought you were also seeing her..”
“Jimin, the only person I was seeing was you, if you can even call it that.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“You know what it means Jimin. We didn’t have a label, all we did was hang out and occasionally sleep together to let out stress.”
“Is that all it was to you?” Jimin’s face shifts and her shoulders sag.
I hesitate, afraid if I should be honest. “Truthfully?”
Jimin steps close to me, and she takes a hold of my hand. “Please.”
I close my eyes, and I grip her hand softly. “N-no, it w-wasn’t just that for me Ji-Jimin. It was more, I cared a lot for you. I had wanted to ask you out, to see if you’d be interested, I grew tired of the whole benefits thing.”
“Cared? Y-You don’t anymore?”
I shake my head. “It’s not that, y-you have Sua now, and I don’t want to interfere with whatever you guys have going on.”
“Wha- no! I- Sua and I are friends like you and Yunjin!”
I pull my hand away and shake my head. “Th-That’s not what you said when I last saw you Jimin…”
“Aeri-”
“I understand I did something to hurt you, although I don’t remember what I did exactly. But you hurt me Jimin, and I don’t know if I can just forget about it.”
“I d-don’t understand, the last time we spoke was in your bedroom..”
“I-I came over on a Saturday, you were nearly passed out on Sua’s arm. I was trying to stay to take care of you, but you refused. You told me to never come around you ever again, to fuck off, and that Sua was what you had wanted…”
Jimin’s face twists in shame. “I- did I really?”
I nod my head. “I asked Sua to keep it from you. I was a mess, and I-I had to sort through some things.”
“Aeri-“
“Was that the truth?”
“No. I-I don’t remember, but I might’ve said it because you hurt me, and I stupidly got jealous seeing you with Yunjin. Instead, of just coming to talk to you I just let my jealousy marinate, and it was a fucking terrible mistake on my part.”
“Can you tell me what I did? I-I have shit memory Ji-Jimin, it’s one of the reasons Yunjin and I didn’t work.”
“O-Oh..”
“Yeah… I was a huge asshole to her… I forgot our anniversary, and well, you could guess what happened after that. But I-I’ve been working on it, I write things down on my phone now, birthdays, appointments, all that good stuff.”
“Ae-Aeri I-I don’t want us to end, not like this, I don’t want Sua. I want you. I know I make stupid jokes, and the reason I got upset is because you questioned what you saw in me, and I-it made me realize what we had wasn’t real. It was fun, temporary, and I wanted something more. So hearing you say that really hurt me, I’m sorry, I should’ve just come to talk to you, I just didn’t know how to.”
“Y-You mean when I asked god why it was you? Fuck I’m-I’m sorry Jimin. I was joking, I knew I felt something was off, but I shrugged it away. I didn’t mean it like that, not at all. God, we’re so stupid, we should’ve just communicated better huh?”
Jimin laughed, but I could see the tears in her eyes. “We are quite the pair..”
“C-Can we start over? The right way? I want to do everything right with you, Jimin.”
Jimin nods furiously. “I’d like that Aeri-ah, very much actually.” Jimin stares at me sheepishly, and I hold out my arms open for her. Although she was taller she tucked her face into my neck, and I wrapped my arms around her waist.
We stayed like that for a few minutes before we were interrupted by Yunjin. “Oh thank fuck, I don’t have to cut a bi-” Chaewon slaps Yunjin’s arm, “I mean, I don’t have to hurt you Jimin unnie.” She rubs her arm softly. “That hurt babe.”
“Oh shut it puppy, thank god you two made up. When you guys settle we’re going on double dates, and you can’t say no!”
Jimin laughs softly. “I don’t mind, the more the merrier, right Aeri-ah?”
“That’s right Jiminie, but first let’s focus on us.”
“I’d like that, lead the way Ms. Uchinaga.”
Jimin and I start walking away and Yunjin lets out a whine. “Uchinaga, you said you’d buy me ice cream!!!”
“I’ll buy you one tomorrow Yunjin-ah!!” I yelled out without turning back around.
“That’s what you said last time?!!” I continued to walk besides Jimin. “UCHINAGA GET BACK HERE!!! I CAN GET LOUDER YOU KNOW! AERI-AH MY ICE CREAM!!!!”
