"Coco! Put it away right now!"
Coco clutched the specialized conjuring ink as she ran. "B-but," she tried. Agott only gave her a stern look before a creature emerged from the sand between them.
They broke up, rolling away as Coco opened her palm quire, quickly closed the ring with her pen as she directed it on the creature. A surge of water came, desecrating half of its body as it screeched rendering the creature from moving.
Taking this chance, Coco ran with Agott as they took cover behind a rock bigger than the creature. Coco tried to catch her breath all the while keeping quiet as she clutched her chest.
Her breath halted when she saw Agott came up front of her, now realizing Agott was just peeking on Coco's side.
Agott sighed in relief as she looks out. "Thankfully, it routed back to the ground." she observed before looking at Coco. "You nearly killed us," she stated but her eyes wasn't intense.
This made Coco remembered how they even got into this situation as a laugh bubbling out from her throat. She tried to repressed it as she leaned her head on Agott's shoulder.
She heard Agott let out a breath. "Again," she added, causing Coco to giggle out now. "I'm sorry," she tried as she moved her forehead to accommodate the courseness of the fabric on Agott's cloak.
"And whose idea is this?" Agott's really rubbing it in. Coco only exhaled a laugh yet again as her arms naturally circled around Agott.
"Mine," she said as she can't help but to smile as she looked at her. She was then rewarded by a quick flick of Agott's finger on her exposed forehead. "Don't be so proud of it."
By the time she rubbed her forehead did she notice the orange hue from the horizon. "It's getting late already."
Agott hummed, "It'll be dead of the night by the time we'll get home. It's dangerous to travel in these sands."
She moved away from Coco, "It's safer to find a shelter for now," she said as she walked few steps away from her before looking back. "Come on, then. We don't have all day here."
Coco nodded as she followed Agott to find a safe area to consider a shelter.
By the time the sun was down, they managed to find a small cave. Coco was already preparing the fire as Agott rummages her bag for any food.
Silence wash over the cave, only the occasional rumbles from the sands can be heard. Coco's head leaned on Agott's shoulder, her eyes closed as the sound of scribbles flitted through her ears.
Coco would probably never admit this but nowadays she finds the noises of Agott's pen pleasing to her ears. Their time together naturally drew Coco to get comfortable around Agott—even as far as to assume that Agott also found her proximity tolerable with time.
Added by the eagerness Agott was expressing when she knew Coco was pursuing the Brimhats. Without Agott, she wouldn't be able to go this far, she thought. She deeply appreciated Agott for being beside her despite the danger the path Coco has taken.
She really—
She suddenly felt a hand on the side of her head instead of a shoulder, causing her to open her eyes. She saw Agott's indifferent face immediately as she felt her lap. "Oh, sorry," Agott softly said as she set her materials back to her bag.
If their relationship stayed back then, she would've gotten up and apologized profusely. But now…her eyes went to Agott's calm features. She already knew how Agott would react if she did it and that'd be silently glaring at her while not saying a thing on why she's making that face.
So she opted to let things flow on their own, especially when Agott took the initiative.
Agott must've noticed her staring, "Too cramped?" Coco blinked back to her senses. "No, actually it feels nice." Agott only hummed as she shoved the last material to her bag.
"Good."
Now her attention on Coco. They stared at each other for a moment before Agott started. "Something on your mind?"
Coco softly smiled, "Nothing, just…reminiscing." Agott raised a brow, "On?" Coco covered her mouth both of her hands as she huffed out a warm breath.
"How far we've come," she whispered. She must've sensed that Coco's about divulge something between them so she raised one of her knees while keeping half of her lap for Coco's head as she leaned her face on her own hand—a sign that she has her undivided attention, which is also one of the things she noticed during their time together.
"Elaborate on that."
Coco only moved her head to lean on Agott's front, closing her eyes as she sighs softly, "Despite the things we've been through," she opens her eyes to look at her eyes. "We're still moving forward."
She lift her own hand to Agott's head, "And I really appreciate you being with me the whole time," she said as she ruffled the soft curly hair of Agott. She saw her lavender eyes softened at this before closing her eyes as she lets herself get subjected to her touch.
Feeling that familiar steering inside of her once again, Coco fights the urge to feel her close as she stopped petting her. Instead she focused on calming the ripples sent from her chest.
But before she could even out the ripples, she felt a hand covering face—rather it's on her eyes as if blocking her sight. Damping down a nerve, Coco instead asked, "…Agott?"
Something thumped within her once she felt a soft lips on her forehead, she can't help let out a soft gasp under her breath. Even when it left, she can still feel it lingering. Warmth making its way to her chest. The ripples tripled down as tingles slowly swirled on her stomach.
Right now, she have never wished this badly to see Agott's face. Somehow the fingers that covered her eyes trembled, leaving an opening. There she saw Agott's face through the gap. Her face was half covered by her other hand on her chin.
But the noticeable part was her ears. It's so red right now. She's fidgeting. Oh, she can't take this anymore.
Coco softly grabbed Agott's hand away from her eyes, and soon stared at Agott's frame slowly looking away causing Coco to smile as she hovered Agott's hand towards her lips.
An act that could be considered as returning the favor, she thinks before closing her eyes, now sending a peck inside of her palm as her thumb caressed the wrist where her pulse rests. It's beating so fast.
Once she opened her eyes, she found wide lavender eyes locking to hers canopied by crimson hue from her face that can be traced back to her neck. Coco can see she was trying her best not to shy away from this moment.
Feeling the warmth on her own face deepening, she can't help but smile at the thought that what she feels at this moment was the same feeling Agott was feeling.
She felt no words needs to be exchanged, just the two of them trying to enjoy what's happening between them as they both had the same thought of intertwining their fingers together at the same time.
