Chapter Text

The once empty streets streets of Yoyle city have gotten quite the company after bfdia had wrapped up.

Amongst the slew of dwellers our story follows Pin, a decent contestant who not too long ago had exchanged her very prominent red colour for new limbs, but something seemed very wrong with her newly aquired appatures. We follow her while she heads over to Golf Ball's current residence. Getting used to her new limbs was horrible and she was clinging onto the walls, she's very glad it was very early and no one had to see her do this, not coiny, not the viewers, and not the peers who look down on her.

Back when the second season had wrapped up, and GB was examaning Pin's range of movement, she had noticed the stiffness in her limbs, specifically her joints; Golf Ball had found this quite odd and had requested Pin return the next day, noting the swelling in her right knee.

The time spent in BFDIA wasn't one Pin was ready to reminisce, she most likely wouldn't be ready to for another few years. Her tries at relationships wasn't on par with what she supports now, treating Ice Cube's boundaries like a joke dragged on for too long. Pin most likely would have not found herself in this predicament if she had understood earlier.

Pin shortly arrives to a previously abandoned clinic, bracing herself to go in, when she suddenly hears loud footsteps.

-"*heave* Oh my mint Pin I'm so sorry I overslept!", Coiny looked like a mess, Pin notes how there's toothpaste residue spilling out of the corner of his lips .

-"Oh Coi-Ny, What Are You Do-Ing Here?" Pin wasn't inquisitive yet not upset of his presence, in fact, she was quite relieved, if only he had told her beforehand.

-"You don't think I wouldn't be here for you, especially as your number one limb warrior!" Coiny had started making a big show of hands and put on a cliche handsome smile. His statement, while quite corny, made Pin's eyes widen and heart swell, seeing her closest friend care this much about her.

-" Oh My-Well Gee, Thank You Coi-Ny"

Coiny, ever the charmer, takes Pin's hand and struts into the clinic, being quickly greeted by Golf Ball and Tennis Ball enthusiastically, Pin's going to be okay, right?

- "Thank you for coming on such short notice, I've taken to the drawing board and analysed the tests we took from some scrap pigment of yours, and the symptoms we talked aout yesterday and had concluded you diagnosis" the shorter one claims, leading the two into a small practice room, inviting Pin and Coiny to sit, the former onto the sterilised examination table.

Golf Ball continues "We believe you may have contracted arthritis, while we still are checking your pigment for any causes, like lyme disease, but we are certain of the former"

Coiny looks over to Pin, trying to figure out how she's feeling, yet can't quite put his finger on it. Pin glances back at him and gives him a nervous smile, before the both of them look back at the scientist.

"While we don't know why you don't display any lingering pain, we can assure you we can get the swelling down, noting the very cold temperature of the clinic, the basement holds extremely old yet advanced medicine we had sifted through last night, and have found something for your knee" Golf Ball then glances over to Tennis Ball, bringing in a tray of eerily sterile needles and syringe.

Pin's heart stops for a second, taking in what TB had brought in, warmth flooding into her left hand as coiny holds it and starts rubbing her knuckles in assurance, she'll be okay with him.

-"Uhh, We Can Go Through With.. This" warily looking over to her lucky coin, toothpaste still drooling down to his chin.

-"Alright, you can get comfortable here while i prepare the knee, the topical painkiller will take half an hour to get into effect" calling for Tennis Ball to go get the numbing cream while reaching for the plastic wrap in a cabinet behind her.

Shortly after the balls leave to allow Pin to get as comfortable as one can be in this situation, now joined by Coiny on the table, the two of them are left to play I spy,.

-"I spyy, with my little coiny eye, something white"

-"Hey! That's Un-Fair, Eve-Ry-Thing Here Is White!"

-"Okay but you HAVE to guess Pin" Coiny lets out a chuckle looking at Pin's grimaced face.

Before Pin had time to guess, Golf Ball returns, Tennis Ball in tow and they start moving around the room getting ready in silence, isolating the both in the center and creeping Pin out.

Finally the time had come, Pin's legs were trembling a bit, Coiny had finally been let off the table and brought a stool over to hold Pin's hand, while Golf Ball was preparing for the extraction of excess fluid. Inviting the patient to lay down, she had requested Coiny to hold down her leg instead, fearing it may move otherwise.

Pin was in a state of dellirium, she felt as if she was a unknowing clown in an audience of judgemental eyes, the very eyes that had motivated her to push Coiny away, the very ones that eliminated her, millions to watch and laugh as if she was a shell of her former evil self. Change takes years, and Pin doesn't know if it would even matter in the end, all it takes is watching a single episode where she fought against the eyes, and using only that as a base to her character. That day, the lights that she herself turned on, hurt her eyes, it was too much, and when she argued with coiny while crashing into the earth, she felt her jaw ache consequently.

The procedure wasn't painful at all, but she could feel the needle going through her skin, it made her sick, she wondered what Golf Ball thinks of her, is she just a doll she'd critique once she left, does her likeness contribute to the gentleness of her movements. Changing the barrel with sudden movements while it's still in her knee freaked the patient out, she wondered whether the audience would want the scientist to be more violent, cause physical harm to her in such a vunerble state.

The feeling of the anti inflammatory steroids being administered brought Pin back to reality, eyes blurry and everything around her being too much. Quickly getting bandaged up, Coiny joins Pin on the table again, threatening to fall off at any moment, he holds Pin as she processes that it's over, eyes closing and drifting off.
