All Your Drama, All Mine

Summary:

After a stupid fight, Ray decides that “this time for real,” he’s leaving. Between tears, tantrums, and a half-packed suitcase full of clothes that aren’t even his, Sand stops him the only way that ever truly works between them: by holding him close, kissing him breathless, and reminding him — through sweat, sex, and painfully honest words — that he never wanted him to go in the first place. Because in the end, even in the middle of the mess, they always find their way back to each other.

Work Text:

The room was a complete mess. Clothes flying everywhere, drawers yanked open, and Ray shoving shirts into his suitcase like they were personal enemies. His eyes burned with restrained anger, but also with something more fragile that he was desperately trying to hide behind all that rage.

—I'm leaving, Sand! This time I mean it! Stop talking to me!

Sand was leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, trying not to smile because he knew that would only make things worse. His voice came out low and patient, like it always did whenever Ray went into full god-tier tantrum mode.

—Ray… baby, calm down. It was just a stupid fight.

—Don't call me baby! —Ray grabbed a black sweater and threw it so hard it missed the suitcase completely. He bent down to pick it up, muttering—: I'm sick of this. It's always the same. You with your “everything's fine” face and me… me…

His voice cracked a little. Ray swallowed hard, furious at himself for that. He kept stuffing things away: mismatched socks, a charger, his favorite cologne. Every movement was exaggerated, theatrical. He slammed the suitcase around like it was somehow its fault.

Sand walked closer slowly, still not touching him.

—Ray, look at me.

—No. —Ray slammed the suitcase shut, though not all the way because half his stuff was still outside. He turned around and started opening another drawer—. I'm going to my dad's house. Or a hotel. Or… anywhere you're not!

Sand sighed, but his eyes stayed soft. He took another step.

—Love, you're packing my clothes too.

Ray froze. He looked down at the gray shirt in his hand: it was Sand's. He dropped it like it burned.

—Shut up! —he yelled, but the tips of his ears were already turning red—. Everything's mixed together! It's your fault because you live like a mess!

Sand couldn't hold back the small smile anymore.

—Ray… do you really want to leave?

Silence.

Ray stayed still in front of the suitcase, shoulders tense, breathing unevenly. His fingers trembled slightly over the zipper. He didn’t answer.

Sand stepped closer from behind and carefully wrapped his arms around his waist. Ray tensed up, but he didn’t pull away.

—Let go of me… —he muttered, though it sounded more like a plea than an order.

—I don’t want to —Sand whispered against the back of his neck, kissing it softly—. And you don’t want to leave either. You’re just throwing a tantrum because you like it when I beg you.

Ray let out an offended little sob, but he melted backward against Sand’s chest anyway.

—I hate you…

—I love you too —Sand answered without hesitation, hugging him tighter—. A lot. Too much. That’s why I’m not letting you go, even when you act like a soap opera diva.

Ray turned around in his arms, still wearing an angry expression, but his eyes were already glossy and wet. He weakly shoved Sand’s chest.

—You’re an idiot… Tell me you’re sorry.

—I’m sorry. —Sand kissed his forehead, then his cheeks, then the corner of his lips—. I shouldn’t have yelled at you. I shouldn’t have said you were overreacting. Although… you were overreacting a little bit.

—Sand! —Ray hit his arm, but he was already laughing through his tears.

Sand laughed too and lifted him effortlessly, sitting him down on the bed on top of the open suitcase. Ray wrapped his arms around Sand’s neck, hiding his face against his shoulder.

—I’m not leaving… —he admitted quietly, almost embarrassed.

—I know, baby —Sand murmured, stroking his back—. You never really leave. And I never let you.

The suitcase stayed open, half-filled with both of their clothes, a silent witness to the fact that, in the end, Ray had only needed to throw his little tantrum… so Sand would hold him tighter afterward.

And it always worked. Because they loved each other too much. Even when Ray decided that “this time for real,” he was leaving.

Ray stayed motionless in Sand’s arms, his face still buried against his shoulder. Suddenly, he squeezed his eyes shut tightly, like he wanted to erase everything that had just happened. His lips trembled, and without warning, hot tears started spilling down, soaking through the fabric of Sand’s shirt.

—I… I didn’t want to leave —he murmured in a broken voice, almost inaudible. Sobs shook his shoulders, short and ugly, not pretty at all. Just real crying, the kind that comes out when you feel ridiculous and relieved at the same time.

Sand didn’t say anything right away. He just slid one hand along Ray’s back, moving up and down slowly, feeling his muscles tighten with every sob. His other hand stayed at the back of his neck, holding him there, pressed against him.

Ray inhaled shakily, wet and uneven, squeezing his eyes shut until they hurt.

—I packed your clothes too… because I don’t even know what the fuck I’m doing —he confessed through clenched teeth, his voice muffled against Sand’s neck—. I just wanted you to stop me. And I hate myself for that.

Sand exhaled slowly without loosening his hold. His fingers tangled in Ray’s hair, tugging gently to force him to lift his face. Ray resisted for a second, but eventually gave in, eyes still shut tight and lashes stuck together with tears.

—Look at me —Sand asked softly.

Ray barely shook his head, squeezing his eyelids tighter. Another tear slipped from the corner of his eye and rolled down to his jaw.

—I can’t… I’m a fucking mess —he whispered, voice breaking—. If you look at me right now, you’re gonna think I’m pathetic.

Sand wiped that tear away with his thumb, then the next one behind it. He didn’t smile. He didn’t throw in any extra soft words. He just stayed there, holding him while Ray kept crying silently, eyes closed and breathing unevenly.

The suitcase was still open beneath them, awkwardly placed there with the sleeve of Sand’s gray shirt hanging out from one side. Ray shifted a little, uncomfortable with the position, but he didn’t pull away. His hands were still clutching the back of Sand’s shirt, wrinkling the fabric.

—Tell me what you want me to do —Sand finally said, almost whispering near his ear—. Right now. No yelling. No drama. Just tell me.

Ray took a while to answer. He kept his eyes closed, breathing shakily while tears still slid slowly down his cheeks. His body relaxed a little against Sand’s, but not completely. He was still trembling.

Ray took several seconds to answer, still keeping his eyes squeezed tightly shut and his breathing uneven. His fingers dug a little deeper into Sand’s back, wrinkling the fabric of his shirt.

—I want you to touch me… —he finally whispered, voice hoarse and embarrassed—. Kiss me until I forget all of this. Make me feel like I’m not going anywhere.

Sand didn’t need to hear anything else. He slid his hands underneath Ray’s shirt, slowly moving up the hot skin of his back, feeling every vertebra, every little shiver. He lifted him slightly off the suitcase and carefully turned him until Ray was sitting on the edge of the bed, legs spread so Sand could stand between them.

Ray still didn’t open his eyes. Sand leaned down and started kissing him: first his damp forehead, then his closed eyelids, tasting the salt of his tears. He moved down his left cheek, gently nibbling at his jaw before finally reaching his mouth. The kiss was slow at first, almost exploratory, but Ray deepened it immediately, parting his lips and searching for Sand’s tongue with urgency.

While they kissed, Sand slid his hands lower, grabbing the hem of Ray’s shirt and pulling it up. Ray lifted his arms to help him, barely breaking the kiss long enough. The shirt fell to the floor beside the open suitcase. Sand did the same with his own, skin against skin now, the heat of their bodies pressing together.

Ray gasped against his mouth when Sand bit his lower lip before moving down his neck, sucking and licking the sensitive skin just beneath his ear. Sand’s hands traveled down to the button of Ray’s pants, undoing it with steady fingers before pulling down the zipper. Ray lifted his hips without being asked, letting Sand tug his pants and underwear down to his thighs.

Sand knelt in front of him. He looked up: Ray had his head tilted back, eyes still closed, lips parted, breathing hard. Sand kissed the inside of his right thigh, moving upward slowly, gently biting the soft flesh. When he reached his erection, he wrapped one hand around it and licked from base to tip in one long stroke.

Ray let out a muffled moan, fingers tangling into Sand’s hair.

—Sand… please…

Sand took him into his mouth slowly, surrounding him with wet heat, moving his head in a steady rhythm without rushing. His tongue pressed along the underside while one hand stroked what he couldn’t fit. The other hand caressed Ray’s thigh, sliding up to grip his hip, keeping him in place.

Ray started moving his hips forward, searching for more depth. His moans were low and broken, mixed with small lingering sobs. Sand sucked harder, swirling his tongue around the tip every time he pulled back up, tasting the precum already beginning to spill out.

After several minutes, Sand pulled away with a wet sound. He stood up, stripped off the rest of his clothes with quick movements, and pushed Ray back onto the bed, between the scattered clothes. He climbed on top of him, skin fully against skin now, their erections rubbing together. Sand rolled his hips against him while kissing him again, deeper this time, dirtier.

Ray spread his legs wider, wrapping them around Sand’s waist. His hands slid down Sand’s back until they grabbed his ass, squeezing and guiding him.

—Inside… —he begged against his mouth, almost pleading—. I want to feel you inside me.

Without moving too far away, Sand reached toward the nightstand, opened the drawer, and grabbed the lube. He coated his fingers quickly and kissed Ray again while sliding one finger inside him slowly, twisting it gently. Ray tensed for a second before relaxing, pushing back against his hand.

A second finger. Sand moved them with practiced precision, curling them exactly where he knew it drove Ray crazy. Ray’s moans were louder now, biting his lip, eyes still squeezed tightly shut like opening them would break the moment.

When Sand decided he was ready, he pulled his fingers out, slicked himself up properly, and pressed the head of his cock against Ray’s entrance. He pushed in slowly, inch by inch, feeling Ray tighten around him, hot and snug. Once he was fully inside, he stayed still for a moment, breathing against Ray’s neck.

Then he started moving: deep, controlled thrusts, pulling out almost completely before pushing back in with measured force. Every time their hips collided, Ray let out a muffled moan and dug his nails into Sand’s back.

Sand shifted the angle slightly, searching for that spot inside Ray that made him shake. The second he found it, Ray arched off the bed and let out a sharper sound, almost startled.

—There… again…

Sand obeyed, fucking him with that same steady, deep rhythm, never speeding up too much. Their bodies moved together, sweaty, the room filled with nothing except the wet sounds of skin slapping together and Ray’s broken moans.

Ray was panting, trembling, still refusing to open his eyes, completely lost in the feeling. His legs tightened harder around Sand’s waist, pulling him deeper every single time.

Sand kept moving inside Ray with that same deep, steady rhythm, sliding in and out without rushing, but with enough force to make their hips collide every time. Sweat ran down their skin. Sand’s hand still wrapped around Ray’s erection, stroking him slowly, squeezing at the tip before sliding back down.

—Ray… open your eyes —Sand asked, voice rough, almost demanding, as he pushed deeper and stayed there for a second, rolling his hips—. I want to see you. Don’t hide from me now.

Ray squeezed his eyes shut harder for a moment, like it still cost him something, but then he slowly opened them. His eyes were red and wet, lashes clumped together with tears. They shone with that mix of shame and desire that always drove Sand insane.

—There… —Sand murmured, staring directly at him without stopping his thrusts—. Those eyes. The same ones that look at me like you wanna kill me when you throw a tantrum, and then look like this when I’m inside you. They drive me fucking crazy, Ray. You have no idea how much.

He thrust harder, precise, brushing against that spot that made Ray’s whole body tense up. Sand lowered his face until they were only inches apart, breathing the same air.

—You’re not leaving. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. Because this house is yours just as much as it’s mine, even if you throw all the clothes on the floor when you’re mad. Because I know when you start packing, it’s because you’re scared I’ll get tired of you… and I won’t. I’m never gonna get tired of you. Not your drama, not your tears, not the way you shake when I touch you like this.

Ray gasped, digging his nails harder into Sand’s back. His eyes never left Sand’s, bright and vulnerable.

—Sand… —he whispered, voice breaking with every thrust.

Sand kissed his open mouth, short and wet, and kept talking against his lips while still moving inside him.

—I love you. I love you when you’re impossible and when you’re soft like this. I love you because you’re the only person who makes me feel like it’s worth fighting and then fixing it like this, sweaty and tangled together. I don’t need you to be perfect. I just need you to stay. To keep being mine even when you throw my shirts into a suitcase.

Ray let out a long moan when Sand shifted the angle and hit exactly where he liked it most. His eyes watered even more, but he didn’t close them.

—Idiot… —Ray murmured, voice shaky and broken, though a tiny teary smile was starting to show—. You say all that while you’re splitting me in half… That’s not fair.

Sand smiled faintly, never stopping his slow, deep thrusts.

—It is fair. Because this way you shut up for a while and actually listen to me. —He gave him a harder thrust, holding his gaze—. Tell me you understand. Tell me you’re not leaving.

Ray breathed hard, his legs tightening around Sand’s waist, pulling him deeper inside. His eyes stayed locked on Sand’s, still shining and a little defiant.

—I’m not leaving… —he finally admitted, almost breaking into another sob—. I don’t want to leave. I just… I just wanted you to say it. To prove it to me.

Ray still had his legs spread around Sand’s waist, heels digging into the small of his back, dragging him deeper.

—That’s it, look at me —Sand repeated softly, voice rough, never looking away from those reddened, shining eyes—. Don’t close them. I want to see what they look like when I fuck you this slowly.

Ray let out a sharp gasp, biting down on his lower lip. His hands moved up and down Sand’s back, leaving red marks with his nails. Every time Sand pushed all the way in and rolled his hips, Ray let out another muffled moan, his whole body tightening around him.

Suddenly, Sand stopped, still buried deep inside him. He straightened slightly, grabbed Ray’s hips firmly, and without pulling out, rolled him over on the bed. Ray ended up face-down, his face buried in the messy pillow. Sand positioned himself behind him, spreading his legs apart with his knees before thrusting back inside in one deep push.

—Ah… fuck… —Ray groaned, gripping the sheets tightly.

Sand leaned over his back, covering him completely, and started fucking him from behind with that same controlled but intense rhythm. Every thrust made Ray’s body slide slightly forward across the bed. Sand kissed the back of his neck, then his shoulder, biting gently while one hand slipped underneath him again to wrap around his erection, stroking him in time with every thrust.

—You’re so fucking hot inside… —Sand whispered against his ear, voice broken by effort—. So tight it feels like you never want me to leave. And I don’t want to leave, Ray. I want to stay here, inside you, until you understand this is the only thing that matters after every fight.

Ray turned his face to the side, trying to catch his breath. His eyes stayed open, glassy, staring vaguely toward the nightstand without really focusing. Every thrust pulled another rough moan out of him.

—Sand… harder… please…

Sand obeyed. He straightened more onto his knees, gripping Ray’s hips with both hands, and started fucking him deeper, harder, but still without losing control. The sound of their bodies slamming together grew louder, filthier. The open suitcase still sat beside the bed, ignored now, clothes hanging out of it.

—I love you like this —Sand continued, voice low and direct while thrusting into him hard—. I love you soaked in tears and sweat. I love you because even when you throw tantrums and toss everything around, you always end up spreading your legs for me like this in the end. Because you’re mine. Every part of you. Even your fucked-up drama.

Ray let out a broken laugh that turned into a moan when Sand hit him with one especially precise thrust.

—Shut up… and fuck me harder —he asked, though his voice sounded wrecked, full of that vulnerability he only let out in moments like this.

Sand smiled against his shoulder and picked up the pace slightly, fucking him with short, deep thrusts that hit exactly where Ray felt him the most. He lowered one hand and spread Ray’s ass wider, watching his own cock slide in and out, slick and shining.

—Tell me you’re staying —Sand demanded, never stopping his movements—. Tell me while I have you like this.

Ray gripped the sheets tighter, pushing back against every thrust, chasing more.

—I’m staying… fuck, I’m staying —he panted, voice muffled against the pillow—. I’m not going anywhere… I just want you to keep doing that… don’t stop.

Sand sped up again, fucking him with faster, deeper thrusts that kept hitting the exact spot that made Ray fall apart. His hand kept stroking Ray’s cock firmly, jerking him off fast, squeezing the tip every time he slid back up. Sweat ran down their backs, the sheets already damp beneath them.

—Ray… I’m close —Sand groaned against the back of his neck, voice rough with effort—. I want you to come first. I want to feel you tightening around me.

Ray was panting into the pillow, pushing back desperately, eyes half-open and glassy.

—More… like that, fuck… don’t stop —he begged, voice choked—. I’m… I’m so close…

Sand gave him two harder, precise thrusts, and Ray’s whole body tensed up. He let out a long, broken moan as he came, shaking violently, hot spurts spilling over Sand’s hand and the sheets. His body clenched tightly around Sand’s cock, milking him.

—That’s it… good —Sand whispered, never stopping his thrusts, fucking him through the orgasm—. So perfect… you’re squeezing the hell out of me.

Only a few seconds later, Sand thrust deep one last time and let go. A low groan rumbled out of him against Ray’s back as he came inside him, filling him with thick, hot pulses. He stayed buried all the way in, trembling, breathing hard against his skin.

Then he slowly collapsed on top of Ray, covering him with his weight. He kissed his left shoulder blade tenderly, right where the skin had turned red from friction, and murmured against it:

—I love you, idiot. More than I can handle sometimes.

He carefully rolled onto his side, slowly pulling out of Ray. The emptiness made Ray let out a soft whine, almost like a protest. Sand stretched an arm out, grabbed the open suitcase still sitting at the edge of the bed, and shoved it farther away until it fell onto the floor with a dull thud of scattered clothes.

—Come here —Sand said quietly, pulling Ray against his chest with one strong arm around his waist.

Ray let himself be dragged closer, still trembling slightly, and settled against him on his side. He buried his face in the hollow of Sand’s neck, one leg tangled between his. His breathing was still uneven.

—Don’t let go of me yet… —Ray murmured, voice hoarse and small—. My legs are shaking like an idiot.

Sand laughed softly and hugged him tighter, stroking his back with an open hand, slow and steady.

—I’m not letting go of you. Not even if you throw another tantrum tomorrow. —He kissed his damp hair and added more gently—: You’re staying. Here. With me. Even if the room ends up looking like a disaster zone and we have to sleep between piles of clothes.

Ray let out a long sigh, almost content, and pressed his lips against Sand’s chest before answering:

—…Yeah. I’m staying. But next time we fight, warn me first so I don’t start packing your stuff too. It’s embarrassing afterward.

Sand smiled and brushed his thumb over Ray’s cheek, wiping away the last traces of dried tears.

—Deal. Now get some sleep. I’ll clean you up later… once I can move without my legs giving out.

Ray just nodded against his skin, finally more relaxed, breathing in Sand’s familiar scent while their bodies stayed pressed together, warm and tangled.

Sand stayed there for a while, staring at the ceiling with Ray pressed against his chest, his breathing slower now. The room smelled like sex, sweat, and Ray’s cologne that had spilled at some point during all the drama. Outside, it was already dark.

Several quiet minutes passed. The only sounds were their breathing and the faint creak of the bed whenever one of them shifted to get more comfortable.

Ray spoke first, his voice rough and low, almost sleepy:

—I’ll clean all this up tomorrow… your clothes too. I’m not that much of an asshole.

Sand let out a short laugh that vibrated through his chest beneath Ray’s cheek.

—Sure you are. But not today. Today I just want you to stay exactly where you are.

Ray lifted his face a little, looked at him with swollen but calm eyes, and nodded once. Then he settled back down, wrapping an arm around Sand’s waist and tangling his leg between his.

—Don’t let go of me all night —he asked quietly.

—I won’t —Sand answered, kissing his sweaty forehead—. Go to sleep, Ray.

Ray closed his eyes, this time without force, just tired and satisfied. His body relaxed completely against Sand’s, heavy and warm.

Sand kept stroking his back with slow, absent-minded movements until he felt Ray’s breathing turn deep and steady. Only then did he close his own eyes too.

The suitcase was still lying on the floor, half-open and forgotten. Clothes scattered all over the room. Tomorrow they’d have to clean up the mess.

But tonight, the two of them were exactly where they were supposed to be: together, tangled up, breathing the same air.

And for now, that was enough.
