Chapter Text
Afternoon patrols had just ended when Nirei enters the classroom with Suo and Kiryu by his side, having just returned from Tonpu shopping street.
“You look happier today Suo-san! Is something special happening?” Nirei, ever the curious one already had his notebook out to write down any response that Suo would grace his blonde classmate with. Suo seems to only beam brighter at the question and he smiles wider.
“My boyfriend is coming to visit!” Suo chirps happily, the sing-song tone in his voice seeming more genuine than usual and Nirei’s jaw drops to the floor as well as everybody else’s and almost instantly there was a synchronised shout.
“WHAAAAAAT?”
……
Suo was forced into an interrogation circle, his classmates had trapped their eyepatch wearing peer in a 3 by 3 desk contraption to prevent him from escaping. Nirei slams his palm onto the desk in front of his best friend with a betrayed look in his eye, a look he shares with the rest of his classmates.
“I can’t believe you had a boyfriend and didn’t tell us, Suo-san! We’re all hurt!” Nirei exclaims dramatically, wiping imaginary tears away from the edges of his eye, other students mimic the blonde’s actions as they nod their heads and make melodramatic sniffling noises.
“This is quite an overreaction Nirei-kun, even for you,” Suo, as always attempts to shift the attention off of himself but Nirei slams his hand down on the desk again.
“No! No deflecting this time! Tell us honestly, Suo-san!” Nirei is shouting every sentence by this point and pauses for dramatic effect.
…
“Is your boyfriend cute?!”
Curious shouts immediately erupts from the rest of the class as they quickly rush to push Suo for answers.
“Yea! What is he like?!” Anzai shouts from Nirei’s left.
“Is he a good fighter?!” Kurita pops his head from behind Anzai’s shoulder.
“What’s his virtue?!”
“Come on! Answer us!”
Shouts soon come to a pause when they spot a gentle red spreading over Suo’s cheeks, a small yet genuine smile on his lips, “My boyfriend… is super cute, like a skittish cat.”
Suo soon recovers and his plastic smile returns to his face, completely missing the warmth from just a second ago. He looks out the window as he bathes in the silence from his once rowdy classmates, “Oh look! He’s outside the gates waiting for me!”
Everyone’s head whip to the window and they all abandon Suo to try to get a look at their maroon haired friend’s mysterious boyfriend. Only to find the courtyard empty of any and all living life, Nirei snaps his head back to their desk contraption to find it empty of what should be a Suo sitting right in the middle of.
“GODDAMI—”
……
Suo hums in amusement at the chaos erupting from the classroom he had just abandoned and he checks the time on his phone. The numbers, 2:02 glare back at him like a chain binding him to the reality of time. ‘Only 1 more hour until I get to see my darling Haruka. I wish time could go faster…’
Suo heads up to the rooftop where Umemiya should be. He welcomes the cool spring breeze to hit his face when he opens the doors to the rooftop, he carefully traverses the overgrown greenery that clings desperately on every surface before calling out to his senior upon seeing the leader of Bofurin tending to the garden.
“Umemiya-san, I was wondering if you got the message that I’m leaving early today?” Umemiya turns his head to face his junior and smiles wide.
“Yea I got it! You’re meeting up with Sakura right?” Umemiya laughs, his booming voice echoes across the rooftop and thankfully doesn’t reach the lower floors and Suo chuckles softly.
“Nothing gets by you does it. But yes! Haruka is finally able to visit me again, I couldn’t be happier,” Suo hums in delight and Umemiya nods in what seems like pride.
“Well, tell him that his older brother said hi~!!” Umemiya chirps and Suo only merely nods to his senior’s request, turning away to leave.
……
Suo couldn’t suppress a little hop in his step as he made his way home, the streets wind into familiar houses and gardens as he finally stops in front of a large traditional Japanese home. The maroon haired student glides his phone out of his pant pocket with ease and checks the time for the umpteenth time that day. 2:30. Thirty more minutes.
Thirty more minutes till Haruka would be at his door. Thirty more minutes till Suo can bury his face into his boyfriend’s soft black and white locks again. Thirty more minutes till he could see that adorable blush on his boyfriend’s face he so dearly loves.
Suo quickly dashes to his door before he loses himself in his thoughts in the middle of the sidewalk. His parents should be away until around sunset so he’ll have untill then to soak in his alone time with Haruka. He couldn’t help but hum a tune in anticipation.
The maroon haired teenager reaches for his key to open the door but finds it already unlocked, he opens the door cautiously and freezes as a head of black and white hair runs across the hallway. Suo rubs his eye in confusion, did the thought of Haruka make him hallucinate? But a nagging voice at the back of his mind couldn’t let go of what he just saw and Suo carefully traverses to his bedroom.
“Haruka~ are you there?” Suo calls out experimentally as he slides open his door, still not too sure if he had hallucinated or not. As the door fully opens, Suo couldn’t help but let a small unguarded snort escapes his lips at the sight.
“N-No..” Sakura replies back in a panic, his body tightly wrapped in Suo’s thick duvet as a desperate attempt to hide himself. Although, Suo completely ignores his boyfriend and takes a step back.
Sakura quickly raises his arms in self defence, he already knows what his boyfriend is going to do and scrambles back to take cover, “N-NO! NO, YOU BETTER NOT DO IT HAYATO! I MEAN IT!”
The bi-coloured boy’s pleas fall on deaf ears however as Suo dashes across the room in 3 wide steps before body is suddenly in the air, landing ungracefully on top of a screaming Sakura. Suo’s limbs lock around Sakura in a tight vice grip and his grip doesn’t waver as Suo snuggles into a soft monochromatic mane.
“When did you arrive My love? How long are you staying?” Suo peppers brief yet warm kisses across Sakura’s scrunched face and Sakura knows better than to pull away.
“This morning, around 7:30. Your parents invited me in before they went to work,” Sakura explains and an obvious smile breaks through Sakura’s just scowling face, “I’m staying forever Hayato. Forever.” Sakura repeats himself as if he couldn’t believe it either, pressing a quick and shy kiss on Suo’s cheek.
Suo freezes at the words that come out of Sakura’s mouth, “H-Huh? Haruka this better not be a joke,” Suo couldn’t control the small excited giggles as his grip somehow only gets tighter, praying and hoping that his boyfriend hadn’t suddenly picked up his own habits of teasing.
Sakura immediately scowls at the silly question, “Of course I’m not lying! ’M not you,” the monochromatic boy snaps back, his bottom lip jutting outward in an adorable pout and Suo only laughs softly. He pulls his boyfriend closer and nuzzles his nose against the top of Sakura’s head.
“Of course, of course~”

Sakura despised being home, if you can even call it that. His current foster house was probably the worst out of all of them, at least in the previous homes he had a small room inside the house and was mostly ignored by his foster family, but this one had sentenced him to the shed outside. It was even smaller than his previous rooms and was basically a furnace in summer and a freezer during winter.
He hated it with all his being. So he stayed off the property most of the time, aimlessly roaming the streets, desperate to find more and more excuses to return home later than sooner. Eventually, Sakura had started getting into fights as a reason to stay out even longer.
Until one day he accidentally found his way to the much wealthier side of the neighbourhood. Sakura panics, scared what will happen if some rich business man were to see him and he flinches violently when a soft hand taps him on the shoulder. Sakura whips around with his fists raised, prepared for a sudden swing but cocks his head in confusion to find a boy, around his age, wearing an eyepatch..?
“No need for fists,” The mysterious boy takes Sakura’s fists into his and gently lowers them, keeping eye contact with a small smile, “I’m Suo Hayato! But you can call me Hayato. What your name?”
“U-Uh… Sakura, Sakura Haruka…” The bi-coloured boy’s voice was small and shaky, still not too sure if this rich kid was playing with him. Suo however just beams brightly and begins to drag the still very confused Sakura deeper down the street.
“Ok Haruka-kun! Let’s go to my house, my mum is making some sweets right now. You’ll love them!” Suo giggles in excitement but Sakura suddenly snaps his hand away.
“H-HEY! You shouldn’t drag strangers to your house! And your mum is going to get mad at you bringing me over! And don’t call me by my first name!” Sakura scolds Suo in the middle of the street, his face red but Suo cocks his head in confusion.
“What do you mean, Haruka-kun? Why would my mum be upset by you coming over?” Suo’s tone was innocent and confused and Sakura stares at him in shock, his 9 year-old mind cycling through all the possibilities that could be the reason for why the maroon haired boy was acting like a total idiot right now.
“What do you mean, ‘What you do mean’?!?! Just look at me,” Sakura shouts again, almost immediately lowering his voice when he remembers that they’re still in the middle of the street, “I’m a freak, your mum wouldn’t want her precious son to be hanging out with somebody like me…”
Suo listens quietly but still had a confused expression, “Well, I think you’re very beautiful, Haruka-kun. I don’t think you’re a freak,” Sakura stiffens at the compliment and flushes beet red from his head to his neck.
“H-HAH? A-ARE YOU TRYING TO START A FIGHT PUNK??” Sakura couldn’t control the wave of emotions and internally thanked whoever was out there that no one had come out of their homes to investigate the shouting. Suo doesn’t even flinch at Sakura’s threat and reaches out his hands to rest on top of the monochromatic boy’s burning, red cheeks.
“Why would I lie about something like this Haruka-kun? Your hair, it’s as beautiful as the symbolic balance between Yin and Yang and your eyes are like precious metals that belong on ancient Chinese jewellery,” Suo floods Sakura’s mind with complicated compliments and poetic words that the shorter boy struggles to comprehend.
While Sakura was trying to process the meaning behind the other boy’s compliments, Suo’s hand takes back its place in Sakura’s hand and begins to drag the distracted boy to his house.
……
Sakura still sits frozen at a kitchen table, being forced inside a luxurious traditional Japanese home by Suo.
“Haruka-kun!” Suo calls out while carrying a tray of a beautiful Chinese tea set, the pristine porcelain glimmered under the sun that peeked through the windows, detailed paintings of flowers decorated the pot and cups, “I brought us my favourite tea and my mum just finished making the sweets!”
Sakura was still dazed, only being able to muster a small nod. He could feel his breath shake and fingers tremble as Suo pours himself and his new friend a cup of jasmine tea and as promised Suo’s mum walks into the dining room holding a tray of tea cakes and mochi. Sakura couldn’t lift his gaze off of the table, he could feel his heart beat in his ears, he was terrified of Suo’s mum.
“I’m so glad that my Hayato is finally making friends, you’re Haruka-chan right?” Her voice was gentle and sweet, nothing compared to the energy that Suo emitted and Sakura relaxes a little. He nods and he forcefully drags words out of his mouth to seem polite.
“Y-Yes, thank you for letting me eat here,” Sakura mumbles, praying that she couldn’t hear the trembling in his tone. A cup and a tea cake is placed in front of him, the soothing aroma lures Sakura to lift his head up a little, blushing immediately at the sight of both Suo’s and his mum’s smiles.
“Well, you boys eat and chat. Hayato, I’ll be in the garden,” Suo nods and his mum walks away. Once Suo’s mum leaves the room, Suo turns his head to Sakura and takes a sip of his tea.
“Eat up Haruka-kun! I’ll show you around the house once you’re done,” Suo chirps, and gestures to the small, pink tea cake in front of Sakura. The two-toned boy hesitates and takes a slow bite, still anxious that this was some elaborate prank, but his worries are immediately stopped out at the taste of the soothing tea cake.
The rest of the tea cake disappears into his mouth as he chews happily, small giggles of content escaping his throat. He’s never had anything like this before, “This is really good!”
Suo chuckles softly and watches adoringly at the sight, “Once you’re done, I’ll show you my room!”
And Sakura nods, deciding that maybe Suo wasn’t really hiding an ulterior motive.
……
Time passes and the boys are now 12. Three years had passed since the pair had met.
Sakura and Suo’s relationship grows into something a little more than just friends (they don’t know that yet). The two boys had begun to see each other every single day, Sakura would sneak away from his foster home not unlike the times before he had met the other, but now it was different. He ran to the familiar streets of the wealthy parts of the neighbourhood, running freely as Suo’s family had supported him against the unfriendlier people in town.
Sakura doesn’t stop running till he reaches Suo’s home, his home, the garden has changed over time but still had the same charm as it did that day. He doesn’t even need to knock when Suo opens the door and jumps into Sakura’s arms.
“Haruka!” Sakura doesn’t stumble and catches Suo in his embrace with a weight of familiarity, blushing intensely at the sudden close contact even though Suo had greeted him like this for 2 years now.
“Hayato,” Suo lets a giggle leave his lips as he drags Sakura inside.
“Quickly Haruka! My parents said that they have a surprise for us!” Suo insistently drags Sakura through the house and the other boy allows himself to get dragged, laughing along his precious friend. They eventually make it to the garden where Suo’s parents sit, the only adults that Sakura has ever felt comfortable around.
The pair sit in front of the adults and Suo’s dad clears his throat, “You guys are very special to each other and there is no denying that, so I won’t sugar coat what I’m about to say. We are moving. Hayato will start middle school in a town called Makochi in a month.”
The colour drains from the boys’ faces, a weak sound of despair croaks from Sakura’s throat, but it doesn’t last long before Suo begins to retaliate, “W-What?! You can’t do tha—” Suo immediately goes quiet at the raise of his dad’s hand.
“We only want what’s best for you Hayato. We would’ve loved to take Haruka with us since you boys are so close but his foster parents had said no.” Suo’s dad begins to explain rapidly, trying to calm Suo and Sakura’s eyes go wide at the mention of his foster parents.
Suo’s mum steps in, adding more points to mediate, “I know it will be rough on the both of you and I can’t have too much of a say in that topic, but we have an early birthday gift for our dear Haruka-chan,” Sakura who still hasn’t said anything cock his head in confusion, “What is it..?”
A beautifully wrapped box is placed in Sakura’s hands and Suo’s anger immediately diminishes at the sight, his own eyes gleaming brighter upon recognising the item that he had personally picked out. The bi-coloured boy was about to protest when he sees the excited look in the other boy’s eyes, and a pigmented crimson spreads across his cheeks as he opens the wrapping.
Silver and gold eyes immediately widen at the sight of a brand new phone and he nearly drops the gift in pure shock, his mouth opening and closing to try and figure out a response to the gift. Suo, who still had a hardened expression smiles and he wraps Sakura into a tight hug.
“Let’s spend what little time we have together! Ok Haruka?” Suo smiles but tears soon flood his eye and a wet patch blotches across his eyepatch and Sakura allows a few tears to form as well. Sakura returns the hug and squeezes tightly, “Yeah… ”

Sakura doesn’t remember when he went to sleep but slowly opens his eyes in the arms of his boyfriend. Said boyfriend was looking down him with his loving eyes, his eyepatch taken off revealing a cloudy and nearly white eye, for Sakura however, it was a normal sight and he nuzzles closer.
“What were you dreaming about My darling?” Suo presses a soft kiss against the parting line of Sakura’s split hair, abiding to Sakura’s need to be closer by pulling him up so the monochromatic boy can bury his face into the crook of Suo’s neck.
“I was dreaming of when we first met…” Sakura yawns before idling tracing circles over Suo’s back, too tired to get up and too awake to go back to asleep. Suo chuckles softly at the memory.
“Those were some of the best days of my life, spending my time with you never got boring,” Suo emphasises his words with another kiss, on the lips this time and Sakura burns red before pouting.
“What you mean some? Is there someone here in Makochi creating better memories with you than me?” Sakura couldn’t help but get a little jealous at even the possibility that his boyfriend has someone else he would rather hangout with than him, “If there is, I’ll beat them up!”
“Of course not, my absolute favourite days are when we started dating you silly goose!” Suo teases, peppering kisses all over Sakura’s face and the other boy only grows redder. Just as Sakura was about to retort the doorbell echoes throughout the house and Suo looks at the clock on the wall, 4:43, his parents should still be at work, “That’s strange, who could that be?”
Suo presses a kiss on Sakura’s lips as an apology as he gets out of bed and puts on his eyepatch. He looks into a mirror and cleans up his hair and smoothes out the fibres of his tassel earrings, a plastic smile spreading across his face as he goes to answer the door. Sakura in turn frowns at the sight of Suo’s plastic and lifeless smile, sighing as he follows behind.
Suo uncharacteristically doesn’t notice Sakura following behind him when he opens the door, Nirei and Kiryu stand in his front porch with worry in their eyes, “Suo-san, we’re sorry for suddenly interrogating yo—” Nirei’s apology dies off when he spots Sakura behind Suo and Kiryu’s hand snaps to his blonde classmate’s wrist to prevent him from grabbing his notebook.
“Is that stunner your boyfriend, Suo-chan~?” Kiryu nods over to Sakura who flushes a deep red at the compliment and slowly takes his place next to his boyfriend, still not too used to friendly people outside of Suo’s family. Suo however was surprised that Sakura had followed him and a genuine smile cracks through as he pulls Sakura closer by the waist, the touch familiar and Sakura returns the gesture.
“He is,” Suo’s reply is short and sweet, already wanting to slam the door on his classmates’ face.
“He is cute! Suo-san, I can’t believe you’ve hidden him so long!” Nirei exclaims in protest as he gestures to Sakura, his fingers twitching to write something down, “What’s your name?”
“Sakura Haruka,” Sakura voices with a fake confidence, still jumping at every energetic action that came off of Nirei.
“How long have you guys been together? 3 months? 6 maybe?” Kiryu asks, basing his guesses off of how he’s never seen Sakura around before.
“We celebrated our 4 year anniversary two months ago,” Suo couldn’t help but show off Sakura, the bi-coloured boy blushing furiously and looking away. Sakura huffs as he escapes back inside not wanting to embarrass himself even further in front of Suo’s friends. Although Kiryu and Nirei’s jaws drop at the revelation of how long Sakura and Suo had been together. Kiryu quickly recovers and drags Nirei away.
“Really? Wow Suo-chan, congrats on 4 happy years! We’re just going to leave now, see you at school~!” Kiryu and Nirei are gone in an instant and Suo closes the door with a relieved sigh.
……
Suo returns to his bedroom and spots Sakura scrolling on his phone, sitting on his bed. The eye patch wearing boy collapses on top of Sakura, nuzzling his nose into Sakura’s neck as he presses soft kisses along his throat to the back of his ear. Sakura lets out a breathy moan, gripping maroon locks tightly by the base.
Gentle kisses turn into harsh sucking and Sakura’s moans get less shy. The monochromatic haired boy’s grip on Suo’s hair only gets tighter as he digs his free hand up Suo’s shirt.
“H-Hey… what’s with you suddenly?” Sakura huffs, out of breath despite not have done anything. Suo immediately stops at the comment, his breath hot and his head stuck in place from Sakura’s tight grip.
“It’s just that we haven’t seen each other since we celebrated our anniversary. And I guess I’m also a little excited, since you’re finally going to stay with me forever. Do you want me to stop?” Suo murmurs still not making any moves that could possibly make his precious boyfriend uncomfortable, but Sakura lets out a rare chuckle as he pulls Suo into a gentle kiss.
“You’re so embarrassing. But it’s fine, I’ll punch your gut if you go too far,” Sakura laughs as he continues to press soft kisses along Suo’s lips and face. Suo eases back into it, a smile on his lips as a result of Sakura’s threat.
“You’re adorable Haruka,” Suo chuckles, biting then sucking harshly on Sakura’s bottom lip, earning a huff of satisfaction from Sakura. Suo hesitantly lets go after a whine and continues his feast on Sakura’s neck, leaving behind red bruises in his wake, leaving a partially harsh one on Sakura’s adams apple.
Sakura’s hands roam aimlessly around Suo’s lean body then he decides that he was going to grab hard at Suo’s small waist as support, loose moans escaping Sakura’s mouth. Suo leans back to look at his artwork and his boyfriend protests at the loss of contact. Sakura was sprawled out like an angel yet that illusion was quickly broken by whorish dark red spots that were starting to form, littered across his neck to chest area.
Lips suddenly crash back together, Sakura pulls Suo into another intoxicating kiss as tongues find their way a familiar path into the other’s mouths. They seperate only for a moment to allow Sakura to strangle off his own shirt as well as Suo’s and as soon as their chests were bare Sakura crashes their lips together again.
The sounds of fabric rustling and moans fill the room. Sakura grinds against Suo’s thigh and they both let out a content grunt, their lips still busy with the other and Suo gently glides his hands down to hook Sakura’s leg over his shoulder.
Sakura’s breath hitches at the new sudden position but he doesn’t complain, too busy in trying to keep up with Suo’s overwhelming tongue that was basically shoving itself down Sakura’s throat. It was only a make out session but Sakura was seeing stars when Suo started uncontrollably bucking his hips against Sakura, short bursts of electricity go down the bi-coloured teenager’s spine after every buck.
‘Are we really going to go all the way today..? Fuck, I want to… I really really want to… I want to I wantto IwanttoIwanttoIwanttoIwan—’
“Hayato, we’re home. What do you think of our surp—” Suo’s mum freezes at the sight of her son mid hump against his debauched boyfriend, an obvious tent in both of their pants “O-OH! I am so sorry!” Suo’s mum yelps upon processing the scene and slams the door shut.
Sakura and Suo stares at the door in shock, dread instantaneously builds up in Sakura’s chest as he sobers up from his kiss-drunk state and realises that the only adult woman he trusts had just seen him get nearly devoured by her own son and he screams, delivering a powerful kick against Suo’s chest and he buries his burning face with his hands while Suo clutches his chest tightly in pain.
……
Sakura couldn’t look anybody in the eye as he slowly ate dinner beside Suo. Dozens of shameful red marks covered every centimetre of skin across his neck, too high for a regular shirt to reach. Suo’s parents sit in front of the couple, not saying a word either.
“So.. Haruka—” Suo attempts to bring conversation back to the table but it’s immediately shut down.
“No,” Sakura’s voice shakes as he shoves another spoonful of omurice into his mouth, not wanting to look or hear anything from Suo’s mouth. Sakura just wished for the floor to open up and to just swallow him whole, ‘I can’t believe she saw me like that…’
Suo’s dad puts his spoon down and clears his throat, “Listen boys, we understand that you’re teenagers and there are certain… urges lets just say, that will affect your relationship” Suo’s dad begins to explain and Sakura turns a brighter red if that was possible and Suo chokes on a bit of rice that falls down the wrong pipe.
“If you want to act on these urges… do it safely. Condoms and lube are always available in your bathroom if you need it Hayato. In turn we’ll be sure to knock next time,” Sakura, out of respect for the adult who had saved his life tries his best to remain active in the conversation and lets out a small squeak in horror. Suo in turn nods in shame.
“Y-Yes, father. I understand…”
……
Sakura was still ashamed, even after finishing dinner, taking a shower, brushing his teeth, getting changed and even right now in his boyfriend’s embrace. Gold and silver pierce through the dark, his eyes are wide open. He couldn’t sleep and it was getting to him, ‘My first day here, and I already get caught by Mrs Suo basically fuckin’ her son..’
His thoughts come to a pause when a gentle kiss is pressed against his forehead, “It’ll be ok Haruka. It’s my fault, I should’ve locked the door,” Suo admits, pampering Sakura’s anxious nerves with gentle and soothing kisses. Sakura leans into his boyfriend’s touch and lets out a sigh of contentment, nuzzling closer into Suo’s chest before slowly drifting away.
☾☆ ~ ` 🍵🌸 ` ~ ☆☽
Sakura sniffles as he lets fat tears roll down his cheeks, Suo sharing the same expression. They sit opposite of each other on Suo’s bed, a day before Suo had to leave for Makochi.
“I’ll miss you Hayato…” Sakura wasn’t scared to admit anymore, he liked his best friend. Suo shakes his head and takes the bi-coloured boy’s hands into his own.
“I’ll miss you too! But, we got you a phone remember? We can text and call each other,” Suo reassures Sakura, gesturing to the phone in the other boy’s pocket and Sakura nods, a blush spreading across his cheeks. Suo pulls Sakura into a tight hug and arms immediately return the embrace.
They sit in comfortable silence, holding each other as tears soaked the other’s shirt. Suo desperately clings onto his best friend, sniffling as he buries his face into his shoulder. A million thoughts are racing through Sakura’s mind and a tiny whisper manages to escape past his guard.
“I like you Hayato,” It could barely be heard but Suo flinches at his words and snaps back, his face glossy from tears but with an undeniable blush across his cheeks.
“Really? Do you mean it?” Suo blurts out, desperate to know if Sakura had the same feelings for him. Sakura however looked mortified that he let that slip, but he looks into Suo’s eye and a his guts twist at the thought of lying to him. He swallows a lump in his throat and looks away, scared of Suo’s reaction.
“Y-Yes… I like you Hayato,” Sakura repeated himself slowly, overwhelmed with dozens of emotions he can’t control, his blabbering continues, “W-W-Will… youbemyboyfriend!”
Suo chuckles softly at Sakura’s shy words, completely forgetting that he would have to leave his best friend the next day. He pulls the two-toned boy’s face closer, “Can you repeat that? I didn’t hear you~”
Sakura only burns a brighter red from Suo’s teasing, playfully punching his chest, “You’re impossible!”
…
“Will you be my b-boyfriend Hayato…”
Suo smiles and he pulls Sakura into another tight hug, “Yes!”
☾☆ ~ ` 🍵🌸 ` ~ ☆☽
Sakura’s eyes open at the wonderful dream. Gold and silver land on the same person he had asked to be his boyfriend 4 years ago and he blushes softly, perfectly content in his boyfriend’s arms. Suo was still uncharacteristically asleep despite the clock showing that it was past 7 in the morning.
Sakura taps his finger against Suo’s nose and smiles to himself as he watches Suo’s face scrunch up at the touch. Sakura yawns as he carefully removes himself from Suo’s hold, catching a glimpse of his very bruised neck in the mirror as he gets up.
His brows furrow at the sight and glares daggers to Suo’s sound body, completely unaware of the deep red and purple bruises that he’d left across his boyfriend’s neck. Sakura takes his gaze off of his sleeping boyfriend and gets dressed. Just a simple plain white shirt and a pair of Suo’s silk pants, they were too tight at the waist but his only pair was in the wash for… reasons.
Sakura spots a small bag of makeup on Suo’s desk and a lightbulb goes off in his head. He walks over and examines the unfamiliar bottles and pumps, ‘Mrs Suo showed me her makeup routine a while ago, it can’t be that hard’.
Sakura huffs with pride at his reflection, his neck once covered in heavy bite marks and hickeys now looks pristine and untouched. He touches up his hair, a habit he picked up from Suo and his family, writing a note for Suo then he leaves the house. He checks the time, 7:58.
The monochromatic haired teenager felt mischievous that day and had left the house without informing Suo as payback for what had happened the day before.
“I have my phone, my wallet.. ok,” Sakura pats himself down, muttering to himself before he heads to Café Pothos, “It’s been a while since I’ve seen her right?”
……
“Can’t believe him Kotoha-san! I can’t believe that Suo-san had hidden a boyfriend for 4 years!” Nirei shouts, pouting at he shoves half of his egg sandwich into his mouth. Kotoha couldn’t help but laugh at Nirei’s misery.
“So… now that you’ve met Suo’s boyfriend. What’s your opinion of him?” Kotoha asks while drying a plate and Nirei visibly brightens.
“His name is Sakura Haruka! And he’s insanely beautiful!” Kotoha snorts at that comment and Nirei continues, “He has such a unique appearance! I’ve never seen someone with black and white hair before! His eyes too! Gold and sil—”
The sound of a bell rings throughout the cafe and Sakura steps inside, “Morning Kotoha.”
Nirei chokes on his half chewed sandwich at the sight of Sakura and Kotoha beams at the sight of an old friend, “Sakura! I’ve been told that you’ve moved in with Suo, is that true?”
Sakura nods as he sits next to Nirei at the counter, placing 200 yen on the counter, “Yeah, it is. Omurice please.” Kotoha doesn’t hesitate, sliding back the notes and gets to work on an old friend’s usual.
“Don’t worry about it Sakura. Think of it as a congrats,” Kotoha reassures the conflicted Sakura but he just sighs in defeat, taking back his money. Nirei’s fingers twitch at the sudden bomb that had just fallen and he clears his throat.
“Good morning Sakura-san! My name is Nirei Akihiko,” Nirei greets, trying to be as casual as he could, Sakura looks over to the blonde and blushes softly, “How do you know Kotoha-san?”
“Yeah.. hey… I uhh, I met her when I came here a while back,” Nirei nods slowly at the minimal answer and flicks to his notebook, hoping that bribery would help Sakura talk more. The blonde stops on his page about Suo and shows it to Sakura, the latter gaining interest upon seeing his boyfriend’s name on top of the page.
“I don’t know a lot about Suo-san, if it’s ok with you, will you tell me more about him?” Nirei asks shyly, and Sakura pounces on the opportunity to shame Suo, just a little.
“Sure, what do you wanna know?” Sakura asks as nonchalantly as he could, turning his body to face more towards Nirei.
Nirei beams as he thinks about what questions he wants to ask first before one enters his mind, “What is his weakness? Is there something that he doesn’t like?”
“Natto,” Sakura answers with no hesitation, “He will eat anything but he despises natto.”
The blonde student perks up at the bi-coloured boy’s answer, “How come? Also Suo insists he’s on a diet and doesn’t eat around us! Is that true?”
Sakura snorts at the new information, raising an eyebrow at the thought of his Hayato being on a diet, “Hayato says that natto disrupts his chi or something. And he has no diet. He eats like a beast when it’s just the two of us or with his parents. He had thirds for dinner literally just last night.”
Nirei speedily writes down the new information with stars of excitement glittering in his eyes and Sakura blushes upon realising that he was genuinely enjoying spending time with Suo’s classmate.
“Got it! What’s he like at home? Or when it’s just the two of you, if that doesn’t cross anything of course,” Nirei is pumped by this point, his hands trembling at all of the new, exciting information.
Kotoha places a plate of warm, steaming omurice in front of Sakura and he quickly takes a bite before answering, “He’s clingy as hell and a teasing bastard,” Sakura admits, “It got worse when he moved away and every time we saw each other I wasn’t alone for longer than 5 minutes...”
Nirei seems surprised at that information, Suo acted distant yet close all at the same time and wasn’t a very touchy type, “Wow really?! He’s completely different with us! He’s so aloof at school, he’s never touched someone beyond a hand on the shoulder or in a fight! Even in a fight he limits how much he’s touching his opponent.”
Sakura’s fingers twitch at the mention of a fight, it’s been too long since he was last in one and he’s itching to punch a scumbag in the face, “I’ve heard Furin get in a lot of fights…” Sakura blurts out as his eyes drag down Nirei’s Furin uniform, his eyes sharpening and the blonde audibly swallows.
“Yea we do… but it’s for the good of the to—”
The sound of the door bell echoes throughout the café and Suo steps inside, the same unreadable smile on his lips but his energy felt different, annoyed. Nirei notices the shift in energy straight away and pulls his hands up in a mediative position Sakura however looked unamused and goes back to eating his omurice.
“You seemed to peaceful this morning so I didn’t wake you up,” Sakura quickly states his excuse before Suo could interrogate his boyfriend, a smile twitching at the edge of Sakura’s lips. Suo however doesn’t look impressed at all, eyeing the near empty cafe then at Nirei who flinches under his classmate’s gaze.
“No one will believe you.” Suo’s statement was clear and directed at Nirei as he approaches Sakura, his composed and ‘perfect’ persona immediately drops after he wraps his arms around Sakura’s neck from behind. He nuzzles his cheek into soft monochrome locks, letting out a sigh of contentment.
“Come home Haruka, I had to go through Umemiya just so I could stay home with you today. Please Darling?” Suo practically begs Sakura, whining and lightly shaking his bi-coloured boyfriend like a toddler throwing a tantrum as said boyfriend continues eating his warm, perfectly cooked omurice.
Nirei looks upon the sight in shock, no words come out of his mouth as he tries to comprehend the sight of his usually neutral classmate acting like a clingy dog desperate for its owner’s attention. Thousands of thoughts run through his mind all at the same time and Nirei struggles to keep up as he just writes down everything he’s witnessing.
Sakura continues to ignore Suo as the latter whines and pouts, desperate to bring his boyfriend home where he can just hoard him all to himself and Kotoha just sighs at the familiar sight. Although everyone perks up at the sound of crashing outside, and Sakura is out of his seat and out the door in less than a second.
……
A gang of around 25 were trashing the streets, swinging their bats at signs and windows. Sakura stops in their path, his stance wide with pure excitement burning in his heterochromic eyes but before he could charge into the group, Suo puts his hand on his shoulder, “Just wait Haruka. We fight together remember~” Suo teases, dragging out his words as he takes his place next to Sakura.
Sakura clicks his tongue but huffs in reluctance, “Fine.”
“OI! Who are you two?!” A thug, who seems to be the leader, points his metal bat at the pair. He carefully eyes Suo, at his eyepatch, then to his tassel earrings. He knows him, Suo Hayato, from Furin high school and the leader lets out a scoff in amusement, “Lookie here! It’s Furin!”
Laughter spreads throughout the group at the announcement of Furin and trash talk immediately sparks, their numbers fuelling the group’s confidence. The laughter stops when a loud crunch echoes from the front of the group. A fist buried in the leader’s face, Sakura’s fist, and the leader collapses unconscious.
The group doesn’t have time to react when Sakura rushes in again, landing a heavy kick to another thugs stomach which flies them back into two others. Another raises their bat above Sakura’s head but a piercing kick is delivered to their side by Suo, and Sakura snaps around to use Suo’s hand as a step to push himself up into the air.
Sakura lands on top of someone’s head, knocking them down as he uses it as another stepping stone to kick down two other thugs. Suo immediately pivots to fend off another punk coming at him, grasping their wrist then using his feet to sweep underneath them. As the thug stumbles Sakura comes in from behind to smash their body into the ground with a powerful stomp to their chest.
The duo split in opposite directions, Sakura delivering a spinning kick to a chest from above and Suo effortlessly dodges multiple attempts of an attack before grabbing his opponent’s wrist and firmly pushes them to the ground. Sakura swivels on the spot and sends a look of pure thrill towards Suo and the latter quickly elbows his current opponent in the stomach and he runs over to his boyfriend.
Sakura doesn’t hesitate to start running to, gaining momentum a he reaches out for Suo’s shoulders. The bi-coloured boy manages to get a firm grip on his partner’s shoulder’s as uses his momentum to flip himself over Suo’s head, Sakura’s feet land on the back of another thug, forcing them to the ground.
Nirei looks in shock or maybe he was mesmerised.
He watches how quickly the pair were clearing out the group, their numbers growing smaller and smaller as more bodies litter the streets. He watches as Suo and Sakura move in perfect sync, the pair naturally covers each other’s blind spots, pulling the other out of an opponent’s range or even something as small as parrying attacks directed to the other away.
It was like they’ve shared the battle field together for years, and Nirei was sure that they definitely have. Although the blonde’s thoughts snap back to reality as a hand reaches out to grab him.
“You don’t get to sit out little buddy!” A thug shouts out but is pulled back from the collar by Sakura who delivers a heavy punch to their face.
“Hands off from the spectators, punk.” Sakura warns to the already knocked out thug and he flinches at the sound of cheering. He looks around at the street and sees at least a dozen townsfolk cheering for him and Suo from their windows and a bright red flushes over Sakura’s cheeks.
“Thank you Sakura-san!” Nirei’s gratitude pulls Sakura out of his thoughts just as Suo finishes off the final punk.
……
Suo walks up to Sakura and Nirei before gently taking his boyfriend’s hands into his own. Suo hums in satisfaction at the limited bruises and turns to their accumulated audience.
“Anyone who causes pain.” Nirei perks up at the start of the school motto and immediately continues from Suo.
“Who brings destruction.”
“Who holds evil in their hearts.”
“Those punks are gonna be purged!”
“By Bofurin without exception!!” Nirei and Suo’s combined voices boom across the streets and Suo raises Sakura’s hand high in the air, a sign of victor and triumph.
……
The pair are slowly walking back home, the sun has said goodnight for the day and had dipped underneath the horizon. The street lamps illuminate the quiet roads and the soft echo of their footsteps startle a stray cat in an alleyway.
“What do you think of Makochi My love?” Suo teases looking over to Sakura but small uncontrollable giggles escape his throat at the sight. Sakura was carrying a mountain of gifts in his arms, it was a miracle that none of them have fallen, yet. Sakura’s face was red and his cheeks were puffed in an adorable pout, the exact same face he’s had one since the townsfolk bombarded him with
“Everyone here is nosy as fuck. I can see what influenced you,” Sakura shoots a knowing look over to Suo and Suo feigns innocence as he bats his eyelashes and Sakura sighs, “But, the town’s so warm… it was a good idea moving here.”
Suo smiles as he presses a kiss on Sakura’s still red cheeks, “Yeah, I’m glad my parents chose to send me here.”
Sakura uncharacteristically allows the kiss to happen and smiles too, “Yeah, me too.”
……
The pair had slept soundly that night, surrounded in each other’s love and safety. But in the end, Umemiya never got his hello :(
