Work Text:

KC hummed to himself as he waited for the eggs and sausages in the pan to finish cooking. He knows he shouldn’t be on his feet for this long this late into his pregnancy, but he couldn’t help it. Cooking for his growing family helped raise his spirits, especially since finding what smells didn’t make him violently nauseous.

He hummed and slid his hand over his baby bump, just in time to feel his unborn child wiggle excitedly.

“Good morning, my little one.” KC intoned. “I suppose the smell woke you?”

He received a small kick against his hand in response, making him chuckle. “Thought so.”

Ever since he had begun to move, the only thing that got the baby more excited than hearing his family talk to him was the smell of his mama’s cooking. KC often wonders how they would’ve reacted to being in the soup kitchen, had they been more developed. So many voices and smells might’ve overwhelmed him as much as KC’s own senses. He was able to get by as long as he could by wearing a mask, but then he kept having to step into the back to throw up or sit down to compensate for the slowly growing weight in his already small abdomen. Pamela had to practically force him to take maternity leave all while Eclipse and Bloodmoon dragged him back to bed to rest.

KC couldn’t help but smile, they showed it in their own ways but his sons were so excited to have a new baby sibling.

Bloodmoon would often lay his head against his bump, only moving when the baby unwittingly kicked him in the face. KC had to hold back a laugh when they playfully glared at their unborn brother. But then, Beaver would comment on how their baby brother was already a strong fighter, Strawberry adding that maybe he would even surpass them.

Eclipse was so worried about something happening to his father and the baby, that KC worried that he would panic himself over unknowns into another bad attack. He finally calmed down when KC held him and softly reminded him there will always be room for him in his home and especially in his heart. Eclipse’s eyes then seemed to sparkle when he felt the developing baby squirm against his hand.

They were so shocked when KC first told them, especially since Computer hadn’t had a physical body at the time.

Speaking of

Two familiar arms gently wrapped around KC, resting a head on his shoulder and hands against KC’s own.

It was meant to be a surprise anniversary present, but the second it was found out Computer had left a piece of his code behind while they were in their shared mindscape, he pushed production on his physical body in order to be able to upload himself and take care of his partner right away.

KC still remembers the surprise of seeing the body he had only seen in their shared cloud suddenly standing on his porch, looking frazzled but still clutching a bouquet of flowers. His physical body looked almost exactly like the one in his mindscape, if not a little shorter. Computer had tried to rush out an explanation only for KC to practically fall into his arms, overcome with emotion that he was really here. His hormones at the time weren’t helping either.

“Good morning, love.” KC greeted.

Computer hummed, resting his monitor-head against his taller lover’s shoulder. “I thought I told you I would handle breakfast.”

“I know but, you were sleeping so peacefully.” KC told him, beginning to transfer the food from the pan onto plates. “And I felt bad with how I’ve been keeping you awake recently.”

Computer took his clawed hand into his own, pressing it to his screen to give it a kiss. “I can handle your snoring if it means I get to sleep next to you every night.” He insisted. “At least allow me to plate the food for you.”

KC glanced downwards, suddenly aware of how much his ankles ached at that moment. With a sigh, he relented. “If you insist.”

He handed over the spatula and moved towards the table to sit, allowing himself to huff with the effort.

“Our little one is getting quite big now, isn’t he?” Computer commented, continuing to plate the meals.

“Yes, and strong.” KC agreed, smiling as he felt another kick. “Just like his brothers.”

“His mother, too.” Computer added, placing a plate in front of him with a kiss on his cheek.

“Thank you, darling.”

No soon had the couple began to eat, the rest of the family began to wake. KC felt a hug from behind, making him turn and smile at his eldest.

“Good morning, my son.”

“Morning dad.” Eclipse returned. “Computer.”

“Morning, Eclipse. You seem happy today.” Computer pointed out.

“Probably because Lunar finally sent back that notebook.”

Flare entered, making a b-line for the medicine cabinet and Eclipse’s pills as always. He was always so on top of things.

When learning he was going to be a big brother once again, Eclipse was excited but overcome with worry. He had a stress seizure that night, confessing afterwards that he didn’t want them to treat them like his previous incarnation treated Lunar.

With Earth and Flare’s assistance, Eclipse finally managed to talk with his former brother, handing him a notebook and requesting that he “write down all the ways I messed up as a brother so I can make sure I never do them to the baby.”

Lunar was reluctant but agreed. Him not only sending the notebook back and Eclipse seeming pleased with the contents was a good step forward, however.

“Will you be joining us, Flare?” KC asked. “There’s plenty.”

The assistant bot shook his head. “I am fine, thank you.” He insisted, side stepping past Rosie on the way to her food bowl and handing Eclipse his pill bottle.

Eclipse nodded in thanks before taking a sausage off his plate and offering it up. Flare was about to refuse but Eclipse gave him a look.

“Fine.” Flare sighed, taking the sausage and begrudgingly putting it in his mouth, chewing as he walked off.

“He’s worse with food than I was.” Eclipse muttered, swallowing his medication before beginning to eat.

KC chuckled. “He will come around, I’m sure. Just as you did.”

Bloodmoon let out a loud yawn as he trudged into the room, still managing to give their father a hug before moving to their seat.

“Good morning, my sons.” KC greeted. “How was your hunt, last night?”

Bloodmoon hummed. “Longer than expected but rewarding.” He said, slowly chewing at his eggs. “Leftovers are in the shed if baby brother wants blood again.”

Both Bloodmoon Beaver and Strawberry were overjoyed to learn they would soon have a baby sibling. Frequently talking to them whenever they had the chance. Even with how much the children that came to the soup kitchen loved them, old fears began to bubble up. They still frequently went to Sun for advice whenever they needed who was more than happy to help.

Then KC began to crave raw meat, something he hasn’t wanted since first transferring from Old Moon’s body. Bloodmoon insisted on giving up their canned blood and leftovers from their hunts. Even if it meant taking on more “hits” than usual.

“And Orange Justice strikes again.” Eclipse said with a smirk.

Bloodmoon rolled his eyes. “Shut up.”

“I was more fond of Crimson Knight” Computer added.

“Don’t you start too, step father.” Bloodmoon muttered.

KC shook his head fondly, wiping his mouth with a napkin just in time to hide a small wince. He glanced around the table, glad no one had noticed.

Well almost no one.

He looked down as Rosie nudged his leg under the table, sniffing at his baby bump. He smiled and pet her head.

“I’m fine, girl. Thank you.” KC told her gently. She didn’t look convinced but agreed to leave it be, especially when offered some table scraps.

“We’ll see you later, call us if anything!” Eclipse called from the front door, holding it open for Bloodmoon and Flare.

They were heading out for a shift at the soup kitchen, KC was so glad they liked going there even when he wasn’t. He will admit the first trimester emotions made him cry tears of joy. Pamela was glad to have extra hands to help where he no longer couldn’t.

“Alright, you boys be safe!” KC returned.

“We will!” Bloodmoon agreed. With that the door closed.

KC settled back into a seat with a sigh, taking a sip of his tea as he checked his phone. He smiled and cooed at the picture he had just received.

“More baby pictures from Solar?” Computer asked from the sink where he was washing dishes.

KC nodded turning his phone to show his partner. “They put Lyra in the onesie Earth got her.”

“The bunny?”

“Mm hm”

Computer turned just enough to see the photo of the newborn Eclipse-model messing with the ears of her new outfit. He couldn’t help but coo.

“Aw, can’t wait to meet her.”

“Neither can I.” KC agreed. “I’m excited to meet for our own little one much more, though.”

Computer turned off the sink, wiping the soapy water from his hands. “Speaking of, I was thinking” He started, sitting back at the table next to him and taking his clawed hand into his own. “Since it won’t be long now, how about we go on a date. Nothing too big, maybe a lunch date, forest stroll, maybe we could even visit the daycare?”

“That all sounds lovely, but I think I would prefer if we stay home today.” KC said with a smile.

“Really? That’s unlike you.” Computer teased. “Why the change of heart?”

KC took a long sip of his tea before answering. “I started having contractions this morning.”

“WHAT?!”

In an instant Computer was out of his chair and at KC’s side. “Wh-What do you mean you started having contractions?!” He placed a hand on his baby bump, trying to feel if anything would tell him otherwise. “Are you sure?”

“I’m sure. I checked.” KC replied.

“Why didn’t you tell me?!”

KC chuckled. “I didn’t want to worry the boys.”

“Never mind the boys! What about you?”

“I’m fine, they’re not that close together anyways.” KC insisted. “It’ll be a while yet.”

Computer sighed. “Alright. But can you at least put your robe on, just in case? And let me call Moon at least!”

KC looked at the panic in his boyfriend’s eyes, feeling guilty that he contributed to it. He held back a wince and nodded, hoping that would somewhat ease his worries. “If you insist.”

Sun looked up from where he and Earth were going over the list of kids coming in over to Moon on the opposite side of the desk, appearing to be talking on his internal phone.

“Alright, just lemme know if there’s any updates.” Moon said. “Ok, bye.”

“Who was that?” Sun asked as his brother tapped the side of his head to hang up.

“Computer.” Moon answered. “KC’s having contractions.”

“Oh dear, is he alright?” Earth asked, worried for their technical brother.

Moon shrugged. “Taking them like a champ, from what I was told. They haven’t told Eclipse or Bloodmoon yet, though. Probably doesn’t want them to go feral too soon.”

“Makes sense considering Eclipse-“

“Sam, if you finish that sentence.” Sun cut off the ai.

Ever since Computer got a physical body, Sam Sing has gotten even sassier than normal without his older brother to bounce off of and his younger one, Spaniard, being “too sensitive”. But Sun was more than happy to help rein him in.

Sam grumbled something to himself they didn’t catch. The doors swung open as Lunar walked in, carrying a tray with sodas on it.

“Thought I’d bring you guys some sugar and caffeine before the horde gets here.” He said, placing the tray on the desk for his siblings.

“Thanks Lunar. Gonna need it based on the amount of kids signed up for today.” Sun thanked, taking a long sip of cola.

“No coffee?” Moon teased, grabbing his Dr Pepper.

“He says like it doesn’t have to be fully stocked when Solar comes back to work.” Lunar shot back.

“That’s not for another month!”

“And I wanna make sure our dear brother has enough after not having any for months!”

“Settle down, both of you.” Earth lightheartedly scolded, sipping her sprite.

Lunar chuckled. “Soooo You guys wanna tell me what you were talking about before I came in?”

His taller siblings glanced at each other, unsure how to tell him or if they even should.

Spaniard, taking the bait, spoke up. “Kill Code might have the baby today.”

Lunar almost choked on the cola he had gotten himself. “O-Oh.”

Don’t get him wrong, he was excited for KC and Computer. But…even though this wasn’t the Eclipse that abused him all that time ago…

He remembers a notebook being handed to him, the one wearing his former brother’s face nervously requesting that he “write down all the ways I messed up as a brother.”

To be honest, Lunar was skeptical, suspicious even. Why now? Why bring this up.

“Because I don’t want to screw up someone else I’m supposed to protect!” Eclipse blurted.

Lunar was surprised, but honestly glad that Eclipse wanted to be a better big brother than the first Eclipse ever was to him. He was glad someone else had the chance to have the big brother he had wanted, but at the same time he couldn’t help but feel jealous.

So he was always capable of change, he just didn’t want to…

“How…How is he? KC?” Lunar asked.

“Fine enough to not tell Eclipse, Bloodmoon, or Flare yet.” Moon explained. “That guy has pain receptors of steel, apparently.”

“Lucky him.”

“Yeah, but who knows how he’ll react to…ya know…show time?” Sun said. “Probably a good thing his kids don’t know yet, Bloodmoon’s protective enough.”

Lunar perked up, smiling slyly. “Speaking of, has he finally asked you out or are you still in the “will they won’t they” phase?”

Sun’s face suddenly turned a shade of pink, giving all the answers needed. “Sh-Shut up!”

Lunar and Moon laughed at their older brother’s expense. Earth, however glanced at the monitor. Though the younger computer brothers did not have physical faces yet, she had a feeling based on how quiet Sam was being, he was up to something.

“Here you are, piping hot.” Eclipse said, placing two bowls of soup in front of an elderly couple.

“Thank you, young man.” The woman said as she and her husband began to dig in.

Eclipse nodded and started walking back to the kitchen.

“Hey, Eclipse” A man called, making him stop. “How’s your father been doing?”

“He’s good.” Eclipse responded. “Should be relaxing, but you know him.”

A woman from another table giggled. “Poor dear. He should be fit to pop by now, right?”

“Any day now.”

“You excited to be a big brother again?”

Eclipse paused, he glanced at where Bloodmoon was, cheering up two kids that had come in from the rain with their father. He couldn’t help but smile as he watched his combined brothers make funny faces and cackle as he got the reactions he wanted. Eclipse fought to keep it up, even if Bloodmoon’s frame seemed to turn blue for a moment.

He thought back to the notebook that Lunar had returned to him. There were…way too many things in there to properly recall. Don’t hit them, don’t yell at them for no reason, don’t put high expectations on them.

But the one that the small blue animatronic had made a point to write bigger than the rest; Be there for them.

He would. Just like he was now for Bloodmoon if not better.

“Yeah. Yeah, I am.” Eclipse admitted.

Flare looked up from where he was washing dishes as Eclipse entered the back. “Are you alright?”

“Hm? Oh yeah, I’m fine.”

Flare’s eyes narrowed suspiciously. “Are you sure?”

Eclipse narrowed his eyes back. “Did dad really have to give you that mood scanner?”

“Only way to make sure when you actually need your meds without giving me Rosie’s own heightened senses.” Flare shot back.

Eclipse rolled his eyes. Don’t get him wrong, he was happy to have Flare back. He was surprised that not only had KC and Computer rebuilt him, but that Flare was willing to monitor and assist him with his newfound condition. Poor Rosie could only do so much. She couldn’t help him off the ground and keep him upright after he had a seizure, she couldn’t remind him to take his medication or tell his family exactly what happened either.

Eclipse felt his face heat up even as Flare relented and turned away. He would never admit that he nearly cried not only at the sight of him but his first words spoken to him. “It’s good to see you again, Eclipse.”

He still felt weird about someone taking care of him, however, even if he had to take care of Flare in turn. True to the former body guard’s nature, he had a habit of ignoring his own needs and wants. Having to be forced to rest and eat, even getting dragged into family game nights especially when Computer joined them physically.

It was nice being on the other side of that aspect. It was…nice to be able to properly bond with Flare.

“Yo, Eclipse!” Skye called, snapping him out of it. “You good to help Kevin up front?”

He nodded. “Of course. Just make sure Flare doesn’t overdo it with the soap again.”

He chuckled as said animatronic flinched slightly.

Skye laughed. “You got it, dude!”

It had been hours, KC’s contractions had been progressing steadily yet slowly. Not slow enough to be concerning but

Computer watched as the larger animatronic took another lap around the kitchen, another popsicle in his mouth. “Kill Code, are you sure you don’t want to sit down? That’s your third lap and third popsicle in the last hour.”

“Fourth, actually. Finished off the lemon flavor while you were on the phone before.” KC corrected as the last of his popsicle disappeared down his throat. “I’m fine, love. Body is just making sure I have enough fluids.”

“And you don’t feel dehydrated?” Computer asked.

KC shook his head. “Not at all.”

“If you say so. Do you need anything else?”

“Not since you asked fifteen minutes ago.” KC chuckled. “I’ll be fine. My water hasn’t even broken yet.”

“I know, but-“

Just then, the doorbell rang. That’s strange, they weren’t expecting anyone.

Computer made his way to the front door, Rosie stood next to him, ready to defend her territory. When he opened the door, he was surprised to find a strange prototype animatronic standing behind it. It looked like one of the Creator’s old temporary bodies that Moon repurposed for spare parts.

“Uh…hello?” Computer asked cautiously.

“Hello, brother.” The animatronic responded in a familiar voice.

Computer blinked in surprise. “…Sam?”

“Yes. Apologies for the scare.”

“Yeah…” He eyed the body up and down. “So…new body?”

Sam sighed. “Not exactly, it’s only temporary. Couldn’t exactly make an entire custom body on the fly.”

“Right. And you are here, why?”

“Moon figured you would need help and since he couldn’t come himself, he sent me.” Sam replied simply. “May I come in?”

Computer nodded and stepped aside shutting the door behind him, he then narrowed his eyes playfully. “You were worried.”

“Worried you would mess something up, maybe.” Sam snarked, though his voice didn’t hold his usual bite.

Computer folded his arms. “Uh huh. Suuuure.”

“Love, who was that?” KC called from the kitchen.

“Sam Sing is here.” Computer responded, making his way back with his brother in tow. He sighed as he saw his partner had yet another popsicle in his mouth.

KC waved, only looking half embarrassed. “Hello, Sam.”

Sam waved back before whispering to his elder brother. “How is he?”

“As well as he could be.” Computer whispered back. “He’s just been walking around in his robe and eating popsicles for hours.”

“Cravings or…?”

“The only thing he trusts to not throw up.”

“I can hear you, you know.” KC pointed out. “Just because I’m focused on something else doesn’t mean my senses are…lacking.”

KC winced mid-sentence and Computer was instantly at his side, Sam choosing not to comment on the sudden speed.

“Easy, breathe.” Computer gently instructed, rubbing his partner’s back gently.

KC panted softly, the pain was getting worse even if he was refusing to admit it.

“Love, please. You’ve been on your feet for hours.” Computer begged. “I know you say you’re fine, but I know you. You’re going to wear yourself out long before the baby is even ready to come out.”

Rosie nudged her master’s leg, whining with urgency at him.

KC looked at him, the amount of pain he was actually in was barely hidden behind his eyes anymore. He let out a long sigh as the pain slowly but surely passed.

“I suppose…you’re right. I think I-“

The world seemed to freeze. It was suddenly so quiet, save for the steady stream of water now trickling down KC’s leg.

“I think….I think I want to sit down now…”

“Alright, thank you for telling me, I’ll let them know now.” Pamela said into the phone. “Good luck, KC. We’ll be praying for you both.”

With that she hung up and made her way back to the front. Lucky she only had to look around for a moment to find who she was looking for.

“Bloodmoon.” She said, making her way over to him. “May I speak with you for a moment?”

Said animatronic looked up at her. “Of course, miss Pam!” With an over exaggerated grunt, he gently tossed the little girl he was playing with onto one of the donated beanbag chairs, cackling as she landed giggling. “What is it?”

Pamela smiled warmly at him. “You, your brother, and Flare are free to go.”

Bloodmoon blinked confused. “What are you talking about? We can’t just leave you short handed.”

“We’ll be fine for the rest of the shift.” Pamela insisted. “Your father called me, his water broke.”

Bloodmoon stared at her in shock before his expression lit up only to dim again in panic. “Oh. Oh! Oh man! We gotta- Brother, just grab Eclipse and let’s go! Alright! Thank you miss Pamela.”

She couldn’t help but laugh as she watched the red animatronic practically dart across the dining room over to where Eclipse was wiping down a table.

“Eclipse! We gotta go!” He said, grabbing his brother’s arm and beginning to drag him.

“Wha- Bloodmoon! The hell are you-“ Eclipse started to protest.

“Dad’s in labor!”

That made Eclipse pause before immediately following his younger brothers. “What?! Is dad alright?! What happened?!”

“I don’t know! All we know is that his water has broken!”

“Frick, that means he’s been having contractions all day, doesn’t it- Wait, Flare!”

“WAIT FOR ME!”

A few patrons burst out laughing at the sight of Flare rushing to catch up with the other two animatronics, their things in his arms.

“Congratulations!” Kevin called just as the door shut.

Pamela shook her head fondly. “How boring would our lives be without them?”

“Extremely.”

“Thank god for their abundance of towels…” Sam muttered, grabbing three from the closet in his arms and shutting the door behind him with his foot.

Rosie trotted beside him back to KC and Computer’s bedroom. The large animatronic was kneeling on the floor with his elbows on the bed, head in his hands as he panted softly yet heavily. He had insisted on staying upright as that would help the baby move along, even if it still seemed to take forever. Computer sat beside him, rubbing his back and holding his arm in support, intoning sweet nothings and supporting to him.

“Sure you don’t want your yoga ball?” Computer asked, getting a whimper and head shake in response.

Sam’s eyes narrowed in concern. “How’s progress?” He asked, setting the towels on the bed.

“You’d think faster with how much pain he’s in.” Computer fretted, adjusting KC’s legs and placing a few towels underneath him.

KC winced again, sharp teeth grazing his lip as he bit down on it.

Computer knew what he was doing, even now his partner was refusing to show weakness and how much pain he was truly in. Seeing the tears pricking in his eyes, however, made it clear it was a losing battle.

“Kill Code, love, if you need to scream, just go ahead and-“

Distantly, a herd of deer perked up as a flock of birds suddenly scattered from their trees.

Eclipse, Bloodmoon, and Flare were just getting to the driveway only to freeze in alarm.

“Was…was that dad?” Eclipse asked hesitantly.

Computer was momentarily stunned but quickly shook it off. “Better?”

“A little…” KC admitted.

Sam gently hit the side of his head, geez his audio sensors were strong. Rosie had reluctantly retreated from the room, her own sensitive ears were probably ringing as well.

“Dad?!” Eclipse’s voice called as the front door opened and slammed shut.

“Dad! Step Father!” Bloodmoon yelled.

KC perked up at the sound of his sons, only to immediately sink back down as his youngest demanded his attention.

“He’s…he’s in position, I think…” KC moaned.

“Ok! Ok! Let me check. Just, breathe.” Computer instructed gently.

“I’ll make sure they’ll stay outside.” Sam told them, assuming KC wouldn’t want his children to see him in such a state.

“Identify yourself-“

“Relax, Solar Flare. It’s me.”

Flare could hardly finish threatening the strange animatronic in his family’s home as Sam interrupted with his hands raised in defense. He, Bloodmoon, and Eclipse didn’t lower their guard until they saw Rosie walk past him to greet them. If the protective dog was fine with his presence, he must be fine.

“Sam? Computer’s brother?” Flare questioned, still slightly suspicious.

“If it wasn’t, I doubt he would have let me in here.” Sam answered.

“N-Never mind!” Eclipse interjected. “Is dad ok?”

Rosie whimpered, looking between them and the room where KC’s groans of pain could be heard.

Sam caught Bloodmoon’s shoulder before he could dart past him. “Your father is fine, but I doubt he would want any of you to see him like this.”

Bloodmoon scoffed. “We have seen worse-“

“He isn’t wearing any pants.”

That got him to back off, cringing at the sudden visual. Sam almost held back a smirk, almost.

“So what are we supposed to do, then?” Eclipse asked. Flare placed a hand on his trembling shoulder to try and ground him.

“Wait out here.” Sam told them firmly, regaining his seriousness. “My brother and I will be assisting Kill Code.”

He took notice of Eclipse and Bloodmoon’s expressions. The latter seemed to still be in attack mode, ready to defend his family especially with the incoming arrival of their new baby brother. The former looked like he wanted to do everything he could to help, but wasn’t sure how and was scared of getting in the way.

“But…we will alert you if something happens.” Sam added, much more gently.

Even though he and his brothers have clashed against them many times in the past, Computer has grown to care for Eclipse and Bloodmoon, considering them his own. Even long before he gained a physical body. Making the two animatronics standing before him his nephews. He had to thread carefully, not wanting to face the wrath of either protective parent.

“That would be…preferable.” Flare said.
____________________________________

Despite the almost blinding amount of pain he was in, KC tried to look up as Sam entered the room, shutting the door behind him.

“My sons…?”

“They’re in the living room.” Sam answered simply.

“Thank you…” KC breathed.

“The baby’s in the birth canal. Sam, I need to be up here for KC.” Computer informed him.

Already knowing what his brother was asking, Sam moved behind KC. He tried not to let his own nerves show. God, how the hell did Moon do this with Solar?

He shoved it aside and nodded in affirmation.

Computer returned the nod and turned back to his boyfriend. “Darling, when you feel another contraction, I need you to push. Can you do that?”

KC didn’t need to be told twice, nodding as he braced himself for another sharp pain. Be strong, he told himself, be strong for your baby.

“One, two, three!”

“That’s it, Kill Code! Just like that!”

KC stopped to catch his breath. To think, he had once cried over the fact he didn’t have his older sons like this, that he didn’t have the connection of carrying them for months as they grew. Now, he was glad he didn’t even have the sentience to feel their creation, if it hurt as much as this.

“Alright. One, two, three!”

“You’re doing wonderful, darling!”

KC couldn’t find the strength to respond at the moment. It felt like he would be torn in half. He felt his eyes start to roll back but he fought to stay conscious.

“Just a little more KC, I promise.” Computer encouraged.

Just a little more, KC repeated to himself. Just a little more, just a little more, just-

Just as KC was fighting the urge to scream out again, someone beat him to it, making his eyes widen in surprise.

“I got him! I got him! I got-“ Sam exclaimed, panicking at the effort of suddenly holding the tiny squirming infant. “…I got you.”

Computer looked back, projected eyes watering. He pressed his screen against KC’s cheek and kissing him.

“I’m so proud of you, Kill Code. He’s beautiful.” Computer told him.

“I-I’ll clean him up, you focus on Kill Code.” Sam offered, already grabbing a towel. Computer had never thought his brother could be so gentle as he checked the newborn over.

Once he was done being checked over himself, KC slowly got to his feet, wobbling at the sudden effort.

“That’s it love, there you go.” Computer gently encouraged. As he helped his partner stand and into bed, he reached over and switched KC’s pain receptors off, making him sigh of relief.

KC smiled tiredly at him as he settled down. “Thank you…”

He looked over, already tearing up when he finally got a good look at his baby.

He was a moon-model, but dark green and blue with four rays diagonally across his head that seemed to form the shape of an X. He was perfect. And so tiny.

“You both ready?” Sam asked.

“Yes.” KC answered eagerly. With that, Sam gently handed over the now bundled up newborn over to his parents. KC gave a watery smile at the wide eyes staring up at him. “Hello, little one.”

Recognizing the sound of his mother’s voice, the baby finally stopped struggling and whining, settling down and blinking up at his parents.

Computer rested a hand against the back of KC’s own, beaming with pride. “He’s so tiny.”

It was amazing that this tiny thing that could fit almost perfectly in one of KC’s hands gave him so much trouble and took up so much space.

But KC couldn’t care less. “He’s perfect.” He decided, kissing his newborn’s tiny forehead and making him squeak. He wondered if Eclipse and Bloodmoon would’ve been this small and precious had they been born from him this way.

“He is.” Computer agreed. “Our perfect little…”

He paused, rolling the name they had picked out around his processor, testing it.

“Exel?”

KC was practically purring. “Exel Hardware Code, I love it.”

“And I love you both.”

The couple shared a deep kiss. As they parted, KC couldn’t help but notice his brother-in-law wiping at his eyes.

“Sam are you…crying?” He asked, holding back a snort.

“N-No!” Sam quickly defended himself. “I’m just uh…grossed out by you two being all mushy.”

Computer chuckled, his brother would never change. “Uh huh suuuuure.” Spaniard would probably be more open with his emotions when he met his nephew.

Sam shook his head. “I’ll go tell the others. Just tell me- I mean us, if you need anything else.”

KC nodded, suddenly excited at the prospect of his eldest sons meeting their baby brother for the first time. “Of course. And Sam? Thank you.”

The second computer brother bristled slightly at the small praise but quickly ducked out of the room, muttering a “no problem”.

Computer chuckled before turning all his attention onto his partner and baby. Exel reached out for one of KC’s claws and began gnawing on it, letting his parents know that he had been born with tiny teeth already grown in. He stopped only to nuzzle against his father’s hand as he rubbed his head.

“Precious little predator already.” Computer commented. “His big brothers are going to adore him.”

“I know they will. And you’ll adore them too, won’t you my little Exel?” KC gently intoned, releasing the claw that was in the baby’s grip and caressing his tiny head. “You’ll always have your family around to protect you. I promise.”

Exel only response was to yawn widely before cooing at his parents.

“Dad!”

As soon as they were given the ok, Bloodmoon was at his father’s side, hugging him. KC just chuckled and kissed his forehead just as the combined animatronic’s eyes began to sparkle at the sight of the tiny bundle.

Eclipse entered more carefully, letting out a breath be didn’t realize he was holding. He hugged KC’s other side. “How are you feeling, dad?”

KC kissed his cheek. “I’m fine, my sons.” He was much better now that he had all his children in the same room. “Just tired. But this little one made it all worth it.”

With a sigh, KC gently adjusted the blanket, letting his sons get a good look at their baby brother. Exel was still wide awake, the excitement of being born and the sight of even more new faces was too much for his tiny body.

“He’s so…small.” Bloodmoon breathed, holding out a finger, beaming when tiny claws reached towards his own.

“Hard to believe he gave your father so much trouble, huh?” Computer commented, wordlessly coaxing Flare inside from where he was just standing at the door, unsure if he was allowed to be apart of such an intimate moment.

KC halfheartedly glared at his partner.

Bloodmoon suddenly gasped excitedly. “He has fangs!” He pointed out as the baby yawned. “Eclipse, look, our brother has fangs!”

Eclipse looked and, sure enough, saw the tiny sharp teeth as red eyes suddenly met his own. “Tsk Ok, that is pretty cute.”

“Calm down, you’ll frighten him.” KC teasingly scolded.

“Sorry.” Bloodmoon apologized.

“Have you named the squirt, yet?” Eclipse asked.

Computer nodded. “We decided to go with, Exel.” He told them.

“It…suits him.” Flare commented. “Congratulations, Kill Code.”

“Thank you, Flare.”

“I like it.” Eclipse agreed.

“Hi Exel. We’re your big brothers.” Bloodmoon introduced, grinning when Exel giggled at him. “He knows us!”

“Hard not to with how loud you are.” Eclipse chuckled, seeming to melt when Exel turned that same happy gaze to him.

Then Rosie nosed her way in, enticed by the new scent. KC softly beckoned his loyal companion forward.

“Rosie, here girl.”

The pitbull padded in, Eclipse holding out an arm to make room for her. Rosie slipped under it, softly sniffing at the bundle. She looked at KC, tongue hanging out happily and tail wagging once she realized this was his new pup. Very precious, must be protected like his other pups. Something she was more than happy to do.

KC scratched behind her ears with his free hand before gently pulling Eclipse and Bloodmoon closer as gently as he could without jostling the baby. He was glowing with pride as he gazed at his family now plus one. His eyes began to water again, he couldn’t believe how lucky he was.

As soon as everything settled down, Sam decided to take his leave despite the invitation to spend the night. No one could blame him, he was visibly uncomfortable by the sudden closeness from everyone and the prototype body wasn’t exactly ideal for charging in.

Computer waved goodbye to his brother even as the portal closed. With a sigh, he turned and shut the door behind him, making sure not to lock it. Bloodmoon had disappeared into the shed not too long ago, most likely going for the leftovers he mentioned that morning.

He smiled as he returned to his and KC’s room. KC was dozing, not fully asleep if the lack of snoring was anything to go by. Rosie lay next to the bed, on guard but soothed by the quiet of the night. Eclipse was sitting on the foot of the bed, Exel cradled in his arms as he hungrily drank at his bottle.

“Geez squirt, you could make Bloodmoon jealous with that speed.” Eclipse chuckled as the newborn finished off the bottle. They realized quickly that Exel wouldn’t take straight formula, but a mixture of it along with some blood was perfect for him.

Computer couldn’t help but smile, Eclipse was so gentle with Exel. He had been nervous about holding him at first, not wanting to have a seizure even if he just took his meds. But once he was in his arms and snuggling against his chest, let’s just say Bloodmoon was lucky to hold and fawn over their baby brother first.

“Want me to take him?” Computer asked as Exel detached from the bottle with a hiccup. “Not sure how you’d feel about burping him.”

Eclipse looked conflicted but quickly decided he would rather not be covered in baby vomit, handing Exel back over to his stepfather.

As Computer gently patted Exel’s back, he turned back to his eldest stepson. “Why don’t you head to bed? I can take it from here.”

Eclipse glanced at his still sleeping father and baby brother now beginning to drift off. “Alright.” He conceded, getting up to leave. “See you guys in the morning, then.”

“Goodnight.”

As the door shut, Exel snuggled onto his dad’s shoulder, finally ready for sleep after being so aware since the moment born. Computer sweared me must’ve been born with his eyes open.

“You’re going to be a handful, aren’t you?” Computer cooed, kissing his baby’s forehead.

He still could hardly believe it, even after all this time. To think, back when he was just old Moon’s virtual assistant, having his own family wasn’t even a concept he considered. Being in love was such a strange and foreign feeling back then. But now, as he gazed lovingly at his newborn and sleeping partner, as he thought about the sons he had taken under his wing as if they were his own code, he couldn’t imagine his life any other way. He never told anyone but sometimes he still feared one day waking up in that old body with him and his brothers barely considered their own beings.

Computer placed Exel in the bassinet that wasn’t there before, Flare must have retrieved it from the nursery for them earlier. Once Exel was settled, Computer gently pulled the blanket onto his body. He sighed adoringly as he watched his tiny eyes softly close.

“Goodnight, my little one.” Computer said softly. “I’m so lucky to get to share this life with you.”
