Work Text:

The night was glistening with stars and under them were Pam and Arhoung, enjoying their celebration dinner for having completed the series 'Queendom'.

"Phi, it was the greatest blessing to have met you in this world of millions of people," Arhoung whispered. Speechless by her confession, Pam could only stare at her as if she was one of the twinkling diamonds in the sky. "I hope we'll be paired together forever," Pam said when she finally found her voice. That was when Arhoung leaned into Pam, closing the gap between them. They melted in the kiss and time seemed to have gone on for an eternity.

And that was how the next few months of their lives went, kisses behind closed doors and secret confessions between scheduled rehearsals. The fact that they could act all lovey-dovey on-screen thanks to the pairing only fed fuel to the fire growing between them. Little did they know that their "puppy love" phase would end soon.

It was November when the rumors poured in. The headline of posts on social media went "Pam with her boyfriend?!" However, Pam was oblivious to the situation, not even able to check her phone amidst the packed schedule the company offered. When it was time for their fanmeet, Pam excitedly greeted Arhoung only to earn a glare from her. Dumbfounded, she kept on attempting to talk to Arhoung, but to no avail. Every ignore from Arhoung made her stomach clench. As the last resort, she approached her manager for help.

"She probably heard the news about your boyfriend," her manager said. "B-boyfriend?" Pam did not even understand what she was hearing. "Anyways," her manager continued, "You can just forget about it since this will be your last project with her. You'll be paired up with a new actor for your upcoming series."

Pam froze, stupefied. Not only would she be unable to meet Arhoung most of the time, but she would also be with a new actor? Someone that isn't... the love of her life. To make matters worse, the rumors only made the relationship between them worse.

Pam ran towards Arhoung, but she kept avoiding the poor girl. "Arhoung, wait! Let me explain!"

"Explain what? You don't need to explain anything to me," Arhoung said, her voice sounding like she was almost choking on her tears.

Seeing how heartbroken she was, Pam decided that she should give Arhoung some space to calm down. The heartbreaking part was that they had no contact for the next few days but they spent each and every passing moment thinking of each other, not to mention Arhoung checking her phone regularly in hopes of Pam clearing up what she wished was just a "misunderstanding". But that message never came, only doubts did. Countless times, she wondered, did the kiss, the confessions, and everything else, mean anything to Pam at all?

It was time for their third fanmeet.

"I swear, I don't have a boyfriend. They are just made-up rumors. Even if I had one, you would have already met him since we spent almost all our time together. Anyways, I'm in love with someone, and I would never date anyone other than them." Arhoung finally stopped walking away. "Oh, who's this person you're so in love with then? That boyfriend of yours?" she said, sounding both accusing and jealous at the same time.

Pam grabbed her hand, and stepped closer to her. "Isn't it obvious? The person I like is you- I'm in love with you." Pam opened her mouth, but no words came out. They stared at each other in silence, where that silence carried with it the weight of thousands of unspoken words between them. The moment was romantically intimate, just like the time they had their first kiss.

"Then," Arhoung started, finally breaking the silence, "Would you like to be my unofficially official girlfriend?" Pam almost froze as tears welled up in her eyes, not in sadness but in gratitude that fate has arranged this turn of events from them. "Yes, I would love to be your unofficially official girlfriend."
