Chapter Text
Felix wakes up to weight, not a blanket, not sleep type of weight.
Warm. Heavy. Breathing.
“Hyunjin.”
A low hum answers him, buried somewhere near his collarbone.
Felix doesn’t even try to move at first. He just stares at the ceiling, blinking slowly. “You do this every time.”
No response.
Felix turns his head slightly. Hyunjin is fully draped over him, one leg hooked over his, arm tight around his waist like Felix might disappear if he loosens his grip for even a second.
“I have to leave today.”
“…don’t.”
Felix exhales. “I have to leave today.”
Hyunjin shifts, pressing his face further into Felix’s neck like that somehow strengthens his argument. “Cancel it.”
“Hyunjin”
“Cancel it.”
Felix lets out a quiet laugh, half tired, half fond. “You were there when I accepted the schedule.”
“I was there,” Hyunjin mutters, voice muffled, “I didn’t approve it.”
Felix turns his head fully now, staring at him. “That’s not how that works.”
“It should be.”
“It’s not.”
Silence.
Then
“I don’t like it.”
Felix softens for exactly two seconds before rolling his eyes. “I need to go to London. I’ll meet you and the members in Paris tomorrow.”
“No.”
“Hyunjin.”
“No.”
Felix squints at him. “You’re not five.”
Hyunjin finally lifts his head, hair a mess, eyes narrowed in pure morning grump. “Then why are you leaving me for two days.”
Felix blinks. “I’m not leaving you, I’m working.”
“Same thing.”
Felix pushes at his shoulder. “Get off.”
Hyunjin doesn’t move.
Felix pushes harder. “Get off.”
“…no.”
Felix sighs, already losing. “I need to make money, you know.”
“I make enough.”
“With my spending habits?” Felix raises a brow. “We’ll both be broke before the end of the month.”
Hyunjin doesn’t even hesitate. “Worth it.”
Felix stares at him for a second, then shakes his head. “You say that now. Wait till I buy another unnecessary lamp.”
“I liked the last one.”
“You didn’t even see it.”
“I felt its presence.”
Felix snorts. “You’re ridiculous. Move.”
“…five more minutes.”
“You said that ten minutes ago.”
“Time is a social construct.”
“Hyunjin.”
“…fine.”
He doesn’t move.
Felix closes his eyes. “If I miss my flight because of you”
“You won’t.”
“I will.”
“You won’t.”
Felix opens one eye. “Why.”
“Because I’m coming with you.”
“You’re not.”
Hyunjin tightens his hold. “Then you’re not going.”
Felix just stares at him.
“…this is blackmail.”
“It’s love.”
“It’s illegal.”
The bathroom door shuts, Hyunjin stares at it then knocks.
“Felix.”
“No.”
“Felix.”
“No.”
“Felix, we can save water.”
“Go away.”
A pause.
“…we can save the planet together.”
“HYUNJIN!!.”
Silence.
Then the soft sound of him sliding down the door.
By the time Felix opens it, towel around his neck, hair damp, Hyunjin is sitting right there, back against the wall like he’s been guarding it with his life.
Felix blinks. “You sat here?”
“You didn’t let me in.”
“That doesn’t mean you wait outside like a security guard.”
Hyunjin tilts his head up at him, completely serious. “I was making sure you didn’t escape.”
Felix stares at him for a long second.
“…I’m going to London, not prison.”
“Same thing.”
Felix steps over him. “Get up.”
Hyunjin gets up immediately. Of course he does. Right behind him.
Attached again.
In the kitchen, Seungmin doesn’t even look surprised.
He takes one glance at Hyunjin practically glued to Felix’s side and just sighs.
“…he’s still here?”
Hyunjin narrows his eyes. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Seungmin sips his drink. “I thought by now you’d be used to him leaving for schedules.”
“And I thought by now you’d mind your business.”
Felix, already tired, raises a hand. “Both of you no. Not this morning. I cannot handle both of you today.”
Seungmin shrugs. “I’m just observing.”
“You observe too much.”
“I observe accurately.”
Hyunjin scoffs, tightening his grip around Felix’s wrist. “Stop looking at him.”
Seungmin pauses. “…you want me to close my eyes?”
“If that helps.”
Felix pinches the bridge of his nose. “Hyunjin.”
“What.”
“Let me eat.”
“I’m not stopping you.”
“You are physically attached to me.”
“And yet you’re still breathing. You’re fine.”
Seungmin lets out a quiet laugh, shaking his head. “This is actually insane.”
Hyunjin immediately sticks his tongue out at him.
Seungmin blinks once. “…are you five?”
“Mind your business.”
Felix grabs Hyunjin’s chin and turns his face back. “Eat your food.”
Hyunjin doesn’t break eye contact with Seungmin as he takes a bite.
Seungmin just nods slowly. “Yeah. Okay. This is my cue.”
The car ride is worse much worse.
Hyunjin is pressed so close their arms are basically one, fingers laced together, his head tucked into Felix’s shoulder like he’s trying to memorize him.
Felix stares ahead, already knowing he’s not winning this battle.
Seungmin glances at them through the mirror.
“…if I didn’t know any better,” he says dryly, “I’d assume you’re a pregnant woman in labor and the only thing calming you down is your husband’s presence.”
Felix chokes. Hyunjin doesn’t even look offended. He just buries his face deeper into Felix’s neck.
“Drive properly,” he mutters.
Seungmin snorts. “I am driving properly.”
“Drive better.”
Felix lets out a quiet laugh despite himself, fingers tightening slightly around Hyunjin’s.
Hyunjin notices immediately of course he does.
He lifts his head just enough to look at him, eyes softer now, quieter.
“…don’t take too long.”
Felix’s expression shifts, just a little.
“I won’t.”
Hyunjin studies his face like he’s trying to hold onto it.
“…call me when you land.”
“I will.”
“…text me before you take off.”
“I will.”
“…send pictures.”
Felix smiles. “Of what.”
Hyunjin’s grip tightens. “…everything.”
A small pause then, quieter “…so I know you’re okay”
Felix’s smile softens into something else entirely.
“…I’ll be back before you can even miss me properly.”
Hyunjin looks at him like that’s the biggest lie he’s ever heard.
“…too late.”
