Chapter 1
Jake Sully knew he was fucked up from the start.
When two RDA agents approached him to inform Jake about his brother’s death and ask him to take over his contract, he agreed.
His life on Earth was already miserable as he was paralyzed from the waist down.
When he arrived on Pandora and his first mission with his brother’s avatar, Jake wandered the forest. As his luck went, he got chased by a thanator and eventually got lost by his teammates.
Travelling through the forest in search of any kind of food and supplies, he didn't notice that something was following him and tracking his exact moves. After a couple of minutes, Jake decided to take a break from searching and lay down.
That’s when he noticed the creature that was above him. He quickly stood up and pointed his gun towards the mysterious creature, but before he could say anything the creature dropped down.
He was taller than Jake, and looked like he knew the forest, but Jake knew that there isn't supposed to be any other avatars apart from his team in the area. That’s when Jake realized the creature was not an avatar
He was a Na’vi
Jake had heard about these creatures in news and stories his brother told him before he died, but he didn't expect to meet one of those so soon into his mission. They had told him that Na’vis were primitive and uncivilized, so he expected this creature to attack him or do something, but he didn’t
He was observing Jake intently, looking at his weapon and his clothes, trying to make out its meaning
“I don't know what you are, but I will shoot if you get near me” Jake stated as he pointed the gun back to him
“You do not belong here” the na’vi responded
Jake blinked, thrown off by its response. Not because it was hostile, but because it was certain.
“Yeah, I figured.” he responded, adjusting his stance. “And I guess you did too”
The Na’vi did not pay attention to his response.
“You got lost easily”
Jake sighed “Yeah, well i was being chased, so-”
“You didn't see it until it was close” he added, cutting him off
Jake frowned “You were watching me?”
“I’m watching you now,” Na'vi asserted.
Jake paused, his grip tightening
“It seems like I haven't introduced myself” He tried to change the topic. “It’s Jake Sully” he added as he stretched his hand.
However, the Na’vi was unfazed by his greeting and stepped closer to him
“You fell three times,” he remarked. “without me, you wouldn’t have made it to sunrise”
“Wow, so you're my guardian angel now?” Jake joked.
He wasn’t amused by Jake’s satire, and continued observing him
“You make noise,” he said finally, “A lot.”
Jake let out a short sigh “Yeah, well, I’m not from here”
Suddenly, his gaze flickered past Jake’s shoulder
“What?” Jake said, turning around. “What is it?”
“You should not stay here,” he answered, still focusing past Jake’s shoulder
“Well, It’s not like I have a choice” his tone turned grave
“You do, but you still don't see them”
“Oh yeah? Enlighten me”
He stepped closer to Jake, resulting in him raising his gun higher
“If you keep holding that-” the Na’vi said as he pointed towards the gun “you won't be able to focus on your surroundings”
“What makes you say that?” he asked mockingly
The Na’vi paused. He didn't answer right away
“You didn't hear that, did you?” His tone turned serious
“Hear what?”
“That is not my job to tell you”
He turned around and started walking
“Then what’s your job?” Jake demanded
He stopped before answering
“To make sure you don’t do anything stupid” the Na’vi replied
He climbed onto the tree.
“Oh and also” he added “It’s Ì’awn.”
And with that, Ì’awn was gone just as fast as he appeared.
Jake stayed still for a moment after Ì’awn left, realizing he had no idea where to go
But then, a branch broke somewhere in the woods. Jake pointed the gun towards the sound expecting an animal to push through the plants.
But instead, another tall blue creature appeared
For a split second, Jake thought that it was Ì’awn. But it wasn’t
A female Na’vi stood there
