Work Text:

Footsteps crunched in the snowy ground beneath her as Adriana panted heavily while she desperately tried to get away from the lurking danger behind her and she had to get away before they killed her too, just like her whole family. Her mother, gone. Her father, gone. Her sister, gone. Her brother, gone. Everyone in her family was gone and it was all because of them, the lycan hunters who had killed every single one of Adriana’s family members with silver bullets which was lethal to lycans especially her whole family, all of them being half lycan and half human including her.

Adriana remember hearing their screams being silenced, the thuds of bodies hitting the floor and the smell of blood. The scent was strong, making Adriana nauseous but she had to push through and before she knew it she was the last one standing after witnessing the brutal murder of her mother. Adriana remembered the final words she had told her before the hunters found her mother and killed her.

“You have to escape and seek the one who goes by the name Mother Miranda. She will help you and provide you protection. She knows who I am and she will help, my darling girl. Now go! Go to the village and know that I’m always watching over you. Goodbye, my sweet daughter. I love you always,” Adriana’s mother had told her before three silver bullets were fired, each hitting a vital organ of her body as her bleeding body fell to the ground with a thud and she was dead.

Adriana remember hearing about Mother Miranda before as her mother had mentioned her a few times in the past and how she was an old friend from a few years ago but she didn’t know much about her. All Adriana knew is that she lived in a village far away from where you were living in Romania, somewhere near the mountain area, and Mother Miranda was once a scientist who did experiments. That’s all she knew about her from her mother and with very little information about Mother Miranda, Adriana figured she must’ve been an important person in her mom’s life.

Her mom’s words echoed in her mind as she was running away from the hunters who were chasing her and trying to kill her. Adriana mentally cursed to herself when she ends up tripping over a rock that she didn’t see as she heard the hunters behind her, bullets firing and she barely managed to dodge them using her lycan speed but unfortunately a bullet ended up piercing her in the side.

Blood began to seep through her clothes as Adriana groaned in pain and stumbled to the ground, clutching her side in an attempt to stop the bleeding but the wound was too deep. Adriana’s healing ability couldn’t kick in as the silver bullet had weakened her too much and she couldn’t even move.

“F-Fuck! No, no, no! Damn it! Those bastards hurt me! I can’t do anything. Am I going to die here?” Adriana cursed at her fate as she slumped to her knees on the snowy ground. Adriana could hear the hunters behind her as she was dizzy from the pain and she knew she had to do something otherwise she’d die out here.

Adriana struggled to get up for a minute but she managed to get up as she continued to run whilst her hand pressed against the wound in an attempt to put pressure on it. She could hear the angry shouts and gunshots from the hunters as she flinched slightly but she kept going, knowing she had to get to somewhere safe.

However Adriana felt a few silver bullets piercing her arms and legs as she cried out in pain, collapsing to the ground. Her body was slowly weakening from the amount of silver entering her bloodstream as she groaned and she couldn’t get up due to how weak she was, the healing factor of her lycan side slowing down significantly. Adriana could hear the sounds of the lycan hunters approaching to her fallen form as she struggled to get up and she felt one of the hunters kick her in the side where you had gotten shot causing her to cry out once again, the pain unbearable.

“I can’t believe you actually thought you could get away from us, monster! Your family are all dead and now you’re the only one of your kind left!” The hunter said as Adriana felt another kick to her side and she couldn’t do anything to defend herself due to how weakened she had gotten. Was this the end? Was she actually going to die here? No, that couldn’t happen and she didn’t want it to happen as she heard her form shifting into her lycan form, snarling angrily at the hunters.

Adriana’s claws burst forth from her paw as you howled before you slashed at the lycan hunters, killing three of them instantly with the claws and she couldn’t care less about them screaming at her or the blood that splattered everywhere, staining the snow below.

“You monster! How dare you attack us and kill our friends?! Who the fuck do you think you are?! It’s time to end this once and for all!” One of the remaining hunters yelled as there were multiple silver bullets fired at Adriana and she did her best to dodge them in your current state but unfortunately, a few bullets pierced her arms and legs once again with one bullet piercing just below her chest, blood soaking your body which caused her to stumble.

Adriana’s healing ability couldn’t heal the injuries you currently had, her body had gotten very weak due to her injuries, as her lycan form shifted back into her human form and you fell to the ground. She attempted to get up but her injuries were too severe to even try to stand as she was surrounded by the remaining hunters and she thought it was the end.

“N-No I can’t… I can’t die like this. I’m sorry everyone… I don’t think I’ll survive this,” Adriana thought but before anyone could finish her off for good, the sound of crows cawing could be heard and she watched how the crows attacked each of the hunters who were killed instantly.

Adriana’s eyes were hazy as she could barely make out who had just helped her but she saw so many black feathers. So many. A figure who seemingly sported nearly ten wings, each fanning out in large black blurs on either side of the silhouette. Adriana didn’t know who it was or what they were going to do as she was too exhausted to even do anything and the last thing she heard was the person’s voice speaking to her.

“You’re safe now. Rest and you’ll be taken care of,” The person’s smooth voice told Adriana as she felt the pain becoming too much to bear and her eyes slowly closed, her bleeding body going limp in the snow. Whoever this person was seemed to not be an enemy as she hoped they wouldn’t harm her. Maybe they could help her.
