Chapter Text
Agent Dana Scully has a life. At least she used to have a life. She used to go out for drinks with her college girlfriends every once in a while - she’d sometimes even meet a handsome man.
Right now, she tries to remind herself of that Dana Scully back in the day. And oh boy, does she need the reminder to muster the confidence to go on that date today.
Scully paces her apartment, glass of pinot noir in her right hand - something light, nothing that would already give her a buzz.
She has two hours until she’s to meet this guy. This nice guy, normal guy. A guy who wouldn’t ditch her to run off with some alien-hybrid every chance he gets.
She takes another gulp of her wine. She hasn’t even picked out an outfit yet and in reality, she has no idea what to wear.
Looking down on herself she lets out a frustrated huff. It’s not like she can leave the house in her white camisole and turquoise pyjama pants, no matter how comfortable they might be.
Resigned, she shuffles over to the wooden wardrobe tucked neatly behind her bedroom door.
25 mins later…
Oversized suits, suits, oh look… more suits! Frustrated, she throws all of them behind her and onto her bed. A, annoyed groan slips from her lips. She’s in over her head.
Scully feels an impulse to call a girlfriend or perhaps her mother and ask her to come over. To help her pick an outfit and let her do her makeup.
Except there’s one problem. She doesn’t have any close friends around anymore and her mother is visiting family in Maryland.
She eyes her phone. There is one other person she could call. After all, they talk about everything, don’t they? At this point, no one knows her better than Mulder does.
With a sigh, she picks up the receiver and dials his number.
