Work Text:

Robin has been struggling with this feeling for a while now, this stupid feeling gnawing at her chest. She loved Nancy. A lot. More than she has ever loved anyone else, she's not some Tammy or anything, she's Nancy Wheeler, her biggest fucking crush. And so called Steve "The Hair" Harrington keeps nagging her and telling her to confess! Like, that's not that easy!
Just like now,

"Come on, Robin! You have to ask her out, you've been drooling at her for months now!" Steve teased Robin.

"God shut up, I don't drool! I admire!"

"As if that makes anything better! But no, seriously, Robin. You have to confess, for your own inner peace, trust me." Steve's eyes softened, and Robin looked at him before sighing.

"But what if she doesn't like me back? I'll be damned! I will lose a friend."

"Girl, she stares at you all the time! And even if she doesn't like you back, she isn't that type of person that just cuts someone off. You need to try!"

Robin looked out of the window silently, thinking for a bit.

"Yeah, maybe I will. After work."

"Finally! Im cheering on you, Buckler!" Steve starts jumping and cheering like a cheerleader and Robin started laughing.

after work.

Okay Robin Buckley. Don't be shy. Don't stutter. Say it straightforwardly. You live only once. Don't give up, Buckley.

Robin kept whispering these words to herself, holding a bouquet of Nancy's favourite flowers in her right hand. She was almost at Nancy's house. Every step felt heavier as more anxiety creeped up into Robin's head.

Everything will be okay...Nancy doesn't bite..it's fine..I'll be okay..I need to be pos-

The thoughts and whispers stopped immediately and Robin's eyes widened, not believing what's happening in front of her. Jonathan Byers kissing Nancy Wheeler. What the fuck. She felt tears slowly wetting her eyes, and she started running away, not noticing that Nancy realized what's happening and started chasing her.

"R-Robin, Robin! Wait! Please, wait! let me explain!" Nancy screamed to Robin, and after a while, she started to slow down, mostly out of exhaustion. She was crying and Nancy immediately hugged her.

Robin struggles against the grip before giving up and hugging Nancy back. "I didn't know that you like him." she whispered quietly.

"Because I don't, Robin. I don't. I did but it was in the past. I don't know why he kissed me!" Nancy quickly spoke.

"You don't need to lie..It's okay if you love him. Im your friend, I accept it."

"I don't love him! Robin, please understand me"

"But-"

Nancy quickly kissed Robin to shut her up. Robin's cheeks flushed red before kissing back gently, making sure that she isn't hurting Nancy.

"I love you, Rob. And only you. I always did. And I waited for you to make the move..and i managed to mess it up...I'm so sorry." Nancy kisses Robin's forehead gently and takes her hand.
"Ever since we got teamed up, you made my life easier. A lot easier actually. I appreciate you so damn much."

Robin teared up all over again. "I love you too, Nancy. I love you too! You're like..the most important person in my life, im serious."

"Will you be my girlfriend, then?"

"Yes! Yes of course!"

And they went to Nancy's house right after, sneaking into the bedroom and cuddling till the daylight.
